My family and I came to the Silver Diner for the first time this morning. We are in town visiting and I must say this may be the BEST breakfast I've ever had at a restaurant. The Pickle-Brined Chicken and Waffles is perfectly balanced in flavor as well as, a generous portion for the price. My wife had the Lumberjack breakfast which was also a very good value. The nostalgic nature was also very cool and created a great atmosphere. Silver Diner appears to be well managed as it is, clean, and for a Sunday morning service was prompt and delightful. We are in town one more day and will be coming back again! read more

We came in around 1 p.m. For brunch and were seated right away. We were immediately informed that they used fresh farm raised ingredients from local farms, including the meat and eggs they used. That was a plus for us being that we recently started eating mostly organic food. The waitress helped us order, I got French toast with scrambled eggs and corned beef hash, my boyfriend got bacon egg biscuit with home fries with mimosas. The mimosas come with a strawberry purée at the bottom, and they were tasty. A little small for six dollars but good nonetheless. The corned beef was so good, as well as the French toast, you can tell it was homemade. My boyfriend LOVED his biscuits, everything was amazing! Came today for brunch w boys. Great pancakes and waiter was very helpful by putting in kids order first. Got sides of eggs and turkey bacon. Omelette with shrooms, cheese, tomatoes and avocado. I would say this is a pretty average, standard diner. I came here for a work breakfast this morning. Decent coffee, ordered the American breakfast with eggs over medium, bacon, home frys and a biscuit. It was all cooked nicely (probably in butter)! I am trying to eat healthy, and they only have a couple "healthy" menu items - where they put the calories by the item. They need to do that with every item on the menu!! Please bring healthier dining options and give consumers the opportunity to make healthier decisions! read more

As a person with a medical issue that is precluded from wearing a mask per the Governor's order, I thought it was very strange that the restaurant wouldn't allow me to walk from the front door to the table my friend and I would be eating at. My friend was wearing a mask, but I was unable. I believe restaurants should have the right to choose who they do business with, but I also have the right to comment on the absurdity of this thought process. Why has Silver Diner decided that it is more dangerous for someone not to wear a cloth mask when walking to a table than it is for the customers to be unmasked while they are eating/drinking while closer to other patrons? Cloth masks are ineffective against this virus as shown in multiple scientific studies, but I would wear one if it didn't negatively impact my own health just to make others feel comfortable. I felt like Silver Diner was acting discriminatory toward my medical issue, and the manager said her hands were tied because this was a company policy. They should consider changing it, in my opinion. I suppose Americans will have to vote with their dollars on whether or not we will allow companies like this to continue these practices and stay afloat. read more

My name is Nicki - I am a soccer mom that travels around the country watching and supporting my family on their soccer adventure. I also like to eat good food. This place was a top right corner goooooaaaaallllll! Walked here from my hotel for lunch after two morning matches. The farm fresh food was like a perfect slip through--- it was a break away to the goal when I tasted the grilled shrimp, juicy and crisp. I vowed to come back for breakfast- I set my alarm and snuck out at 7am. Enjoyed a unique- quinoa and coconut pancake, smothered in fruit. Coffee perfect. Staff are nice and attentive. Must visit! Third night I used Uber Eats rather than go through that again. I'm so disappointed! When we walked in I asked my spousey if I had arrived in heaven. This is a throw-back diner complete with tons of polished chrome, and table top jukeboxes. But there's a twist: the focus is local food, and they have organic accoutrements at the table--organic ketchup, and sugar, sea salt grinder and pepper mill. They also offer the Smuckers natural line. I'm still not going to eat it, but a step in the right direction. The place is clean and shiny, and the service was cheerful. I had a kick showing my kids how the jukeboxes work. It really brought me back to being a small fry at Tops in the 70s/80s. Here, I ordered the roasted veggie salad. It was good but not mind-blowing--kale and arugula topped with pecan pieces, sunflower seeds, dried fruit and beets, Brussels sprouts, squash and red peppers. A weird choice for breakfast, I concede, but I sometimes struggle with bfast menus and I really wanted a salad. My dear partner ordered something that was a plate of pancakes, eggs and meat. He asked for ham but got bacon (the theme of our road trip has been mistakes in his order). But he's never been known to complain about breakfast meats, so he just made a face and ate it anyway. He complained about the scrambled eggs though. He said something was wrong with them. He tried to get me to taste them. What is it with that? "This is disgusting. Please try it." No thanks. My littles ordered the quinoa cakes and French toast from the kids menu. They serve it with fruit and eggs. It ended up being two small pancakes and one piece of French toast cut in half. You really needed the eggs to call it a breakfast. Good thing they had those scrambled eggs on the side, right? But even my kids wouldn't eat them (and my littlest will devour eggs whenever they are available). I took a closer look. The eggs ere uniform in color and looked a bit like a small-pored sponge. I poked them, and a trail of yellow slime appeared where the eggs had moved on the plate. I finally had to taste them. Holy cow were they nasty. No texture, like imitation eggs. Someone came to check on us, and I mentioned the eggs were inedible. They tasted like powdered eggs. Seriously, I felt like I was at the Bob's Big Boy Breakfast buffet at a rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike circa 1987, not at a high end diner that allegedly focuses on fresh, local food. The manager came over, and heard the complaint. He looked at my daughter's plate, where the weird trail of yellow slime was visible. He said: "They look like they were soft cooked. Let me get you another order." I said, "No, that's not it. You don't need to bring new ones. I'm not looking for free breakfast. This is just feedback. These eggs are not good. They taste powdered." When he saw he wasn't getting anywhere with me, he finally conceded that they use a prepared liquid egg mixture for their scrambled eggs and omelettes, and he offered to make us "shell eggs" instead. I was baffled. What other kinds of eggs are there? I literally didn't have words. You claim to be local and farm friendly but you use "a pre-prepared egg mixture" for the most central component of the breakfast plate?! By then, only my littlest was interested, so we asked for one serving. It was definitely a shell egg, because they didn't mix it very well and the whites and yolks were separated). She took a couple bites and wasn't interested. $50 later, we left for Whole Foods where we picked up some snacks to tide us over til lunch. read more

A great place to hang out. It reminds me of diners up north where you can go, get coffee and hang out with friends or family. They have a great menu with lots of different meals. Breakfast anytime. This place never ceases to amaze me! How funny that each time my wife and I make a visit, we have the same waitress, who is awesome! Anyways, this time I tried the Tomayto Tomahto Burger with bison as a substitute to beef. It was excellent and the dipping sauce for the fries was out of this world! I also tried the Goat Cheese Cheesecake, which was surprisingly tasty. I'm so in love with Goat cheese, but I never thought to have it on or in dessert. This was my first time in the diner. The interior reminded me of the diners I used to experience in NJ. The quality was good. Food was satisfying. I had the meat loaf and felt something was missing. It was only after I got home that I realized that their offering had no gravy. At $15.49, I thought it was over priced--but 13-15.00 were the prices points (all of which I felt was a bit high). Service was great, friendly and fast. I bought to go food for my wife and son. Well packaged for the trip but 6.99 for a milk shake and 7.99 for a grilled cheese? Poor service today we waited way to long for our order and when it did arrive the fries were cold and too salty. I ordered the cob salad and it had the egg missing when I brought it up to the server she said "oh did you want that". I was aggravated because I must have wanted it I just ordered a salad with it. I'm not normally all that picky but for a $13.99 salad I want what I payed for. The tomatoes were either green or they cut the core up and it was uneatable. I then had to practically run the sever down to get the check to pay in order to leave. The food was plain and not up to par with the prices they charged. Beautiful layout inside the diner brought me back to my time in New York City diners. Very clean. A very extensive menu. If you can't find something to please you here, then you might as well just go home. I size up restaurants based on how well they do their Reuben sandwiches. This place hit it out of the park. So my husband and I were hungry and decided to try the Silver Diner. Well bad mistake, we waited in line 15-20 minutes before being seated. Our waitress came and we ordered pancakes, Caramel French Toast, eggs and home fries. So the food arrived about 20 minutes later and visually looked great but the pancakes and French Toast were both very dreadfully dry. It has the feel that they are not made to order. Ok I went here late on Friday night after traveling. I loved the atmosphere and the vintage appeal of the old school diner. The wife wanted breakfast food and I wanted dinner type food. She got the banana stuffed french toast and I got the flat iron steak. My steak was pretty good honestly. It had a lot of flavor to it. The mash potatoes where ok as well. The wife's french toast however was just not what she expected. The bread tasted a little tuff and stale she said. I even tried it and she wasn't lying or being picky. So the food for us is hit or miss. Probably good enough to try but don't expect greatness. The service was pretty good the waitress was nice and timely. Love this restaurant! I've tried a few appetizers and meals there. Their food is always fresh, big portions and they have a variety of choices. They have a lot of vegan dishes as well as other healthy meals. They have every type of food you can think of from tacos, to steaks. Their food is always delicious and you never leave feeling hungry. The atmosphere there is great, not too busy that it takes a while for your food to come but also not too quiet where you're left feeling bored. If you ever wanted to try a milkshake from silver diner, they're amazing. I would recommend the Nutella banana.
