If you notice there are quite a few chain hotels within walking distance, which provides a clue of why they built this diner here. When I was here a week ago, I was on the lookout for turn-offs. My sons and I had big breakfasts here, and the only complaint I can register is that their coffee wasn't hot enough. Food was fine. The waitresses circulate frequently, and are friendly. This is a great find! First thing that you'll notice is how incredibly clean the whole place is. You could eat off the counter tops. The menu is creative and varied and features a lot of local and organic ingredients. I only had breakfast here, twice in two days, but the lunches and dinners look equally impressive. I had the Bison Huevos Rancheros (Who ever heard of that before?) which was super tasty, with just the right amount of "kick" in the slightly spicy format. The fresh scallions, eggs, black beans and really all of the meal was really well prepared and very, very presentable. The cooks take pride in sending out each dish as if it was their own piece of art. And I don't know who trains this staff, but they are a TEAM and each one was professional and engaging. No sloppy or stained uniforms here. It's clear that they want you to feel like you're at home when you visit them. I know,,, sounds too good to be true, but I have a pretty critical eye as my wife had been in the restaurant business for many years. I'm sure that even she couldn't find a blemish in this place. Food was ok. I had the buffalo wings cuz I lost my appetite coming in here. More on that later. My family got the burger and steak which they liked. Walking in, the doorway smells like body odor. Walking into the main restaurant floor, the floors smelled like a wet rag that never dried (mildew? Mold?). Needless to say, the smell turned me off. I am sensitive to bad smells so I definitely noticed. To management: make sure you use fresh cleaning products and fresh mops or whatever it is that you use for the floor and table tops. Went to SILVER Diner for my birthday breakfast. I enjoyed the atmosphere but, the restaurant was short on supplies. They had a truck out back they were offloading. I had to drink my drink from a too small straw that didn't reach the bottom. Other than that the food was good. read more

I enjoy eating in here, but I almost never enjoy the food I get when we order the take out. It's almost like they put noticeably less effort into the meals not eaten in house - after all, your tip is no longer based on service and food quality. My favorite meals are the pancakes (though I always end up asking for a second or even third syrup) and the build your own burger. This place is excellent. After coming here once, I've been back at least once a week since the first visit. The food is always fresh, the wait staff is polite and friendly and knowledgeable, and they're very eager to make you happy. During one of our visits, my brother got a lumberjack breakfast and received the wrong meats. They let him keep the meats, and brought him the correct ones, as well as giving him a voucher for a free entree on the next visit. When we came back with that voucher a week later, they encouraged us to get the most expensive thing on the menu, and even split the order in half so that both of us could eat the free meal. Needless to say, we tipped the waitress well and got a few extra things to make sure the diner would make some money off us! I had good luck a few months back at the Reston location and decided to try out this location when I needed a West End lunch. The menu is expansive but everything seems to be done in attentive fashion. I like the fact that they feature local foods prominently and make attempts to have healthy offerings. You can also get traditional diner fare here. I had fun playing with the working jukebox at our table. After picking out some Michael Jackson and Beatles music I was ready to order. I had the Baja Fish Tacos with fried flounder and a citrus salad. My girlfriend had an egg white western omlette. The tacos tasted fresh and were well seasoned and came in at under 600 calories with the salad. Pretty good considering I got fried fish. My girlfriend's omlette was pretty good for egg whites. Service has been good at both locations, as has their coffee. It's as good as any coffee shop in town. Prices are a little high especially for the healthier food, but overall I definitely recommend. read more

Eggs were raw when I asked for over medium, full of runny eggy whites, canned corned beef dry old potatoes for the price they are asking and as much as they sell the farm to table the severely missed the mark. The only positive about the experience was the bloody Mary was good, but not worth your time. Loved this place! Really cute decor with a jukebox at every table. Like going into a time machine. Food was amazing here -- especially for vegetarians/vegans. The veggie huevos rancheros was so unique and just delicious overall -- the best I've ever had. Roasted root veggies, brussel sprouts, quinoa, guac, peppers, pico, perfectly runny over easy eggs -- doesn't get much better than that. I wasn't the hugest fan of the fried sesame tortilla chip thing, but their whole grain toast that came with my friend's meal was the perfect substitute. I loved how they made brunch a nice healthy meal instead of a greasy, dense one. Totally my style, totally going to rip this off and recreate at home. The service here is really good. This is a five star diner. It has a locally grown focus with all of your old diner favorites, which sometimes come with a new twist-- like their delicious and amazing bison Huevos Rancheros. This was my first time here and we were amazed by the wonderful and attentive waitstaff, the varied menu (which includes some healthy and gluten free options) and the mouth watering, delicious food. This place is CLEAN, light and bright. Though the prices may be slightly higher than your typical diner, the increase in the quality in food is well worth it. We decided to come hear mainly because of the $5 coupon we received when checking in to our hotel before the color run. I normally say that there is always something on the menu that will interest me but this time I was kind of meeh about everything. Not that it didn't seem good, just not what I was in mood for. Eventually I did decide on the pesto burger with regular fries instead sweet potato fries. It turned out really really good. My husband had some hash of some kind and he really liked it too. I was pleased to see something else than burgers and hot dogs on the kids menu so we went for chicken and rice ... hard to say if it was good being that she from time to time is a picky eater :-/ After dinner i had my eyes on a milkshake, a brownie latte milkshake..... mmmm ... bits of brownie, ice cream .. sooo good. I was so full after but it was worth it. I loved the decor and that it is a diner, the jukebox selection thing on every table is a super cool thing. Our server, Ricky, was super attentive, friendly and hospitable but not over the top. He had a smile on his face every time he came back to the table, which says a lot! It had good enough reviews, so we headed out for a late breakfast/early lunch. The place screams 50s on the outside, and when you walk in, you notice just how huge it is. Not only that, but the decor is clean and fitting. We were seated quickly in a booth, and began looking at the menu. There is a lot on the menu, and locally sourced food is a big selling point as well. I like knowing where my food is from. I ordered a pesto burger but with a chicken patty instead of the usual beef. My dad ordered a breakfast platter. It took about 20 minutes, but the food finally came out. My burger was a little tough (I'm guessing overcooked) and messy, but the flavor was there. Great pesto, nicely seasoned patty, and awesome grilled peppers (which I usually dislike). The bun was pretty good, too. Sweet potato fries were crispy with a soft inside and tasted very good as well. My dad enjoyed his breakfast platter as well, as the turkey bacon was cooked well and the eggs were too. Service was very good--done with a smile and pretty efficient. Can't complain there. Overall, this place is a huge thumbs up for me, and I'd definitely return in the future. read more

This is the restaurant that we go to most often. We are there nearly every Tuesday for Kids Night, where the kids enjoy a craft, entertainment, door prizes and a free milkshake. They have a loyalty program where if you visit five times within a three month period (easy to do when you go every week like we do), you get five dollars off. They also give five dollar coupons through their receipts, about every fourth or fifth time. Their menu is varied, though we tend to order from one of our half-dozen or so favorites. They serve breakfast all day. Their kids menu is spot-on. Lots of choices, fresh food, and many, many healthy items. Overall, this regional chain strives to bring local (ish) food whenever they can. My wife and I found this diner by mistake when we stayed close by for an overnight stay on two occasions. We have been here three times in two weeks, all three times the food has been good to very good. the server have always been very good to great. What we really like about this establishment are the food choices. We heard for the first time the word flexitarian (plant-based with the occasional inclusion of meat products) which is really how we choose to eat, they have lots of grains and vegetable meal choices, they preach buying from local farmers and because there are not many good food choices near by, we are giving this diner 5 stars. read more

This place had a fantastic array of options for my restaurant challenged family (one's a vegan, two have varying food sensitivities)... gluten-free options, healthier choices, etc -- and all wrapped up with the charm of a classic diner, including jukeboxes at each table! We only had an overnight stay in the area, but went for two meals at this place -- dinner the first day, and lunch the next day. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly (plus, they looked like they all liked each other, too), and super-gracious with our kids, who were a handful, to be sure. Our food choices included brussel sprouts w/lentils, sliders (beef and turkey), omelettes, fluffy quinoa pancakes (gluten-free!), blt, sweet potato fries, etc. Everything was great!!! At dinner, the kitchen had boo-booed my dish, so they remade it fairly quickly, and our server removed it from our bill. We wouldn't even have asked her to do so, but appreciated the gesture, and gave her a generous tip, as a compliment to her service and the integrity of the kitchen staff.
