What started with a difficult situation, soon was replaced with an amazing experience. The owners Jackie and Allen are some of the most truly amazing people you could have the pleasure to meet and treat everyone like family, they took care of us immediately and with such care. The manager Jamie is fantastic and very attentive and observant to what is happening in his restaurant and quickly approached us about our situation as soon as he was aware. I guess my first review was requested to be taken down. This place is awful. Not the food. Food is great. The cinnamon toast is to die for... But they are RACIST. I ordered the French Dip Sandwhich, in-which my server stated was his "...favorite thing on the menu..." When the sandwich arrived I could literally feel the unbelievable amount of salt granules crunching in my mouth - as if it was loaded with sand. I had my gf try it whom is not Black and she confirmed the same. She felt personally offended and asked our server to have a new French Dip Sandwich made immediately. I interjected, kindly declined, as the server turned red and just walked away as if he was disgusted - for being subjected to take part in such a lowly and hallow attack on one of their paying patrons. He was to embarrassed to come back. Never saw him again after that...lol The fact you requested to take this down without contacting me or even a "my bad" this is exactly who you are. Again be proud! My girlfriend and I had food poisoning symptoms for two weeks...the excessive and overindulgence of salt was really intended to cover up whatever debauchery that was really devised. What if my child were with me... I am only half black, would think I only receive half the racism, right? Don't take this down. Be proud of how you treated me. Be proud of your Northern Confederate/Colorado of Old belief structure. Might as well have a "No Coloreds Allowed" Sign and save me the trouble. I'm literate. Clearly... Sunday some times calls for our clan to head out to grab breakfast and this place never disappoints. Hidden in old town Ft. Collins on a cool little street just off College. First off the cinnamon rolls here are ginormous and very tasty! $5 for a jumbo cinnamon roll is pretty decent or get four for $16. Let's talk about OJ! A craft of OJ runs $13, which it was good and tasted like it was freshly squeezed but a bit pricy for me. I had the country fried steak, eggs over easy, hash browns and sourdough toast. Very delicious with a great batter on the steak. The hash browns are potatoes sliced thinly and seemed a bit soggy even though I asked for them well done. They didn't seem to have much taste to them, but mixed with the eggs and add some ketchup they were alright. The vibe is pretty cool with a great bar that sits right up at the front of the kitchen. You can pick some delicious giant cinnamon rolls from the glass case. This place has been around since 1940's. read more

Would give this place a million stars if I could. Stopped in for the first time today and couldn't have been more impressed. Atmosphere is charming and service was excellent, our server at the counter was super sweet and so on top of everything. Some of the best coffee I've ever had as well. We shared a "mini" cinnamon roll, which wasn't mini at all but was incredible. McDonald's used to have these flat square cinnamon rolls and they discontinued them years ago but they were amazing (sounds crazy I know), and ever since we've been chasing down a cinnamon roll that is as good as those were. Nothing fancy or overly iced, just a delicious, soft, gooey cinnamon roll that speaks for itself. This is it. It's been over 10 years of hoping we'd find something similar and this is it and more. Also had the fiesta hash, which was amazing and a huge amount of food, had tons of leftovers for the next morning. The cinnamon toast is perfect if you don't want to order a full cinnamon roll but want something sweet, definitely recommend as well. Our party of five had an exceptional brunch here at the Silver Grill Cafe. Their in-house hollandaise sauce for the Eggs Benedict is one of the best that I've had in Fort Collins. The ham was high quality and exceptionally delicious, having a rich flavor. The hash brows were seasoned perfectly, very flavorful. The chai was sweet but not overpowering, I loved the spice and foam on top. Jillian was our server and she was absolutely amazing! She had an energetic, positive spirit and personality; her smile never left her face and was highly contagious. She catered to our specific needs without ever seeming to be inconvenienced. As native Louisianians, it's a given that we're foodies and expect to find good food when we travel. Truthfully, we struggled to do so in Colorado...it's just not a priority. However, we stumbled upon Silver Grill Cafe in quaint Fort Collins after mass one Sunday and we were in heaven! It was truly one of the best meals we had the entire time being in Colorado. He had the beer braised corned beef hash and I had some fiesta hashbrowns. I ordered a chai latte and we both had the cinnamon roll toast. Y'all. Each bite was amazing! The service was great, too. If we are ever in the area again, we will HAVE to pass by here again! Kudos to the owners for selling coffee cups that they'll put your name on for return visits. If you don't get back within a year's time, they'll sell your cup and donate the proceeds to local charity. While in town touring CSU, I did some research on Yelp and found this place. I love old breakfast joints like this. We were in town for 3.5 days and ate here twice! First morning, I went with my fave, chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes. It wasn't as good as I had hoped unfortunately. However my daughter got cinnamon toll French toast and my wife got carrot cake French toast. They were both fantastic. I had to come back and get one of them myself, I did :). The 2nd day we sat outside out back. It was awesome back there. The weather was good and it's was less chaotic. Unfortunately, both days, the service was just mediocre. I have never left a review on a restaurant but the treatment I received today was so appalling I had to write. I took my 93 year old mother there for lunch today ... we arrived about 11:20. We parked in the back so my Mom could walk the short distance to the back patio, where we have enjoyed eating many times. There is a sign at the entrance to the back patio that says "Please see hostess. Self-seating is not allowed." As we entered the patio, a table was vacating so I set Mom down in one of the chairs at that table while I went to check with the hostess. I told the hostess that we had come in the back and there was a just-vacated table and asked her if we could sit there? After clarifying if we were on Patio 1 or 2, she said sure. So, I went out back and joined my Mom at the table. Shortly thereafter the waitress came up and and told me I should not have sat myself. I told her I had checked with the hostess and the hostess told me I could sit there. The waitress (didn't get her name) said she hadn't cleaned it yet and I told her we were in no hurry, to take her time and clean the table when she was able to. She then told me I had to go up front to wait for the table to be cleaned and I told her that would be really difficult for my feeble, blind 93 year old Mom. She continued reprimanding me at which time I said, "You're being pretty rude." She asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. I said it wasn't necessary and she went to get her anyway. The manager, Amanda, sat down at my table and gave me the same talking to about not seating myself. So, I explained to Amanda how we had followed the protocol requested on the sign and checked in with the hostess who had OK'd it. She said the hostess would not have said OK had she known it was dirty. I didn't understand how that was my issue, sounds like it was more of an issue with the hostess. Amanda went on to talk about how hard they're trying to keep things clean and safe during Covid. I told her that we appreciate that but again, I had followed the requested protocol. At that point she said, "I don't want to argue with you" and walked away. I understand a server having a bad day (kind of) but a manager saying, "I'm not going to argue with you" when the issue was in their process, not my behavior, is beyond shocking. So much for doing what it takes to make a customer happy. And, btw the thorough cleaning they wanted to make sure took place, was a quick wipe of the table with a towel. So sad as it used to be my favorite place in Fort Collins. read more

This was definitely a great place to eat in Fort Collins. The food was delicious. I would eat here again. I ordered the Monte Cristo and split it with a friend who ordered the breakfast burger. We went during Sunday lunch which was a long wait. (We also had 10 people with us. The downside to this place was that while the burger was good, it fell apart pretty easily. Wow! I cannot belleve I have lived in Fort Collins for close to 30 years and my first time here was this weekend! I've had their cinnamon rolls via friends and family picking them up, but had yet to actually sit down and have a proper breakfast. First, get there early or plan to wait. I think this is what scared me from going until now. Honestly, any wait is worth it! We got here at 7am and got right in. The food portions here are generous and the options are almost limitless. Hash browns come with most dishes and are BOTTOMLESS, meaning you can have as much as you like! This was is fun surprise for me as I love the crispy texture of their hash browns so I will be back for those alone. At our table we opted for huevos rancheros, French toast (made with their cinnamon rolls) , an omelette, pancakes, and fresh squeezed OJ. Everything was fresh and really tasty. Service was excellent and we felt as though this was a place we had all been to many times over the years even though we were all first timers.
