Absolutely incredible experience today. I had my nails done here 2 weeks ago. Julia did my acrylics, I did not catch the name of the man doing my pedicure but he was awful & acted angry the entire time. Their lotion gave me a rash on my lower legs for 2 weeks. Despite that, I did like my nails so I called yesterday to schedule a fill with Julia, who did them before. She wasn't working until today so I scheduled today instead. She had repeatedly told me my fill (gel & acrylic) would "only be $35". When I arrived, Julia had no idea about my appointment. No one did. They tried to sell me on a pedicure, which I didn't need, and finally sat me. She split her time "working" on my appt with switching to work on "her regular", who she told me I was "taking time away from". It took 2 hours to get a fill. She was rushing, painful & harsh. My cuticles are all torn up & bleeding. To top it off, she tried to charge almost $100! I had to have an embarrassing war of words reminding her I MADE AN APPOINTMENT & requested her, and she told me it would be $35, not to mention "apologizing" to her "regular client" who I somehow "stole time from". I ended up getting charged $50 for a FILL! So disgusted. Avoid at all costs. read more

A few of my friends and I (the female contingent of the wedding party) decided to have our nails done here before a wedding which was to take place the next day. We had made arrangements nearly a month before and had asked if we could bring champagne in to start the festivities in a relaxing atmosphere. They were amenable and seemed very nice in the beginning. However, once I actually arrived with the two bottles in stow, I was very rudely greeted. Not to my face mind you, but they made it clear in vietnamese that they were not happy (their not so under their breath remarks included a, "and she brought alcohol!" even though we had received clearance from someone when we made the appointment). Clearly, they were not aware that I might speak their native language (even though I am obviously Asian). While we were actually getting our nails done, two of the girls (one of which seemed to be in charge) called us pejoratives in vietnamese (directly translated - witches, but I think a translation that more captures their intent would be B-----) and indicated to the techs that they should just hurry up and got our nails done, without being worried about the quality. Believe, this was reflected in the end product. Ordinarily, I would've just walked away, but there were five of us, one of which was the bride and I didn't want to make a scene. Just know this, if you think that they are talking about you, they are. There was nothing about the experience which would make me recommend this place to anyone, as they are clearly not concerned with their customers' happiness and their work product stinks. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have been going to Silver Nails since way back when they had a salon in SantA Monica. I would go to their Beverly Hills salon or Santa Monica depending on where I would be that day. I think about fourteen years. Periodically when I'm traveling I'm forced to go somewhere else and I'm always disappointed because I can never get the results that I get at Silver Nails. It's a family owned business which I love. Julie and her sister Anna are my go to ladies. Anna does my pedicures and if I'm wearing sandals someone will always ask where do you go. Julie does my manicure and she introduced me to the dipping gel which I'm now obsessed with. Love love love this salon and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Oh Silver Nails, how I miss you! This was my go-to nail salon when I lived in the area for about 8 years. They do an awesome job for the price. The pedicures are not the wimpy ones where they take a little pumice and tickle your feet--they SCRUB. Especially Ken, who is my fave when it comes to pedicures. He doesn't mess around, which I appreciate. They always seem to have a great selection of polishes from Essie and OPI too. If you are looking for a cheapy nail salon, this isn't it. It may not have an impressive spa-like fancy decor, but it makes up for it in the quality of the manicure/pedicure you receive and the cleanliness, which is why it is a little more. Their pedicure baths are cleaned out and lined with plastic--not the gross ones with the drain at other places. I'm surprised at the previous reviews noting that they are pricey. I wouldn't say they were pricey. Still far less than an actual spa or fancy nail salon, but the quality is what you're paying for! I have yet to find the same level in Long Beach, where I live now. They did a great job on my nails and were able to help out with an ingrown toenail. I took away one star because while he was doing my pedicure everyone was screaming in Vietnamese at him I'm assuming telling him what to do but it made me extremely uncomfortable. This place is not sanitary or clean. Went to get a pedicure and asked iAnn if she had cleaned the bowl. SHe said yes, but that was not the case. When I started soaking my feet in the water, the water felt dirty and murky. I was soaking in someone's fungus! I got a really bad infection that I am now bing treated for!!! I just sat down at silver nails and waited almost 20 minutes before someone sat down to start my manicure. The lady was not very happy; I wouldn't be so happy after being yelled at by someone else 15 minutes before telling you that you did a horrible job. Nothing was done correctly, from cuticle shaping to actually painting the nail. She spent about 10 minutes on me and didn't do a great job on me or the rest of my family(2 others). She painted on my skin, didn't clean up and when I asked for nail art, she put a little 3D watermelon on my nail and started to make little white dots around it for "design". Hands down the WORST nail salon and manicure I've ever gotten. Never come to this salon and don't listen to others who say its fab. Ths is my first and last time coming to silver nails. read more

Their negligence blows my mind. The manager (or owner) of Silver Nails believes it's okay to throw sharp incense needles outside of the store. One got caught in my PREGNANT sister's foot and she had to go to the ER. We had to ask the manager multiple times what she stepped in and she refused to give us an answer saying it wasn't from her store, but the sticks were clearly on display in their window. I was excited to check out a new nail salon in my area, but was very dissapointed with the service here. I ordered a "hot oil manicure". Normally you soak your hands in hot oil, and it is very relaxing. No hot oil was involved in this manicure whatsoever. A man did my manicure, and I believe he was the owner (he sits at the station at the front of the salon). I have never had such a RUSHED manicure in my life! He was racing to get my nails done so fast, I was actually having anxiety and feeling nervous. I think he massaged my hands for no more than 30 seconds on each side. $30 for gel manicure, not bad. i don't think i could really ask for anything more in a nail salon. it's incredibly clean, every single person that works there is skilled and you will leave with gorgeous hands and feet. the first time i came there, after a pedicure and a complimentary few minute foot massage my feet were literally transformed. i've been coming here for over a year, maybe two, and i wouldn't go anywhere else. i always get gel because it stays in tact for 3 whole weeks. beware: only get the gelish brand of gel, don't get shellac or opi! it chips and breaks ur nails off. and ya, ask about the prices before hand so there are no surprises. :) read more

The nail salon I usually go to was closed, as was every other nail salon within its proximity, so my friend and I crossed our fingers hoping that there would be at least one nail salon in Beverly Hills that was open! Lo and behold, Silver Nails welcomed us with its neon "open" sign. At first I wasn't sure if the salon was actually open; after all, we were going down Olympic and I didn't have much time to check and see. So we turned back and entered the plaza parking lot to find that I was right! The selection of polishes were great! There were more colors than the typical nail salon carries (many variances of the same hue, not really too many greens or blues...most women like pinks and reds but I like less conventional colors). A male worker, who I believe was the owner, worked on my manicure and did a great job. I'm usually wary of men doing my nails but he was better than the girl who did my friend's... My first time here after going to my nail shop for years. I have always passed this place but never thought to stop in good thing I did, I LOVE it here the décor is beautiful, clean, and no negative vibes from the workers. They offer you water on the spot, no wait I was seated in the most amazing pedi chair I have ever been in. The massager on this chair is incredible. Julie did my gel full set and they look beautiful, Julie is super friendly we conversed the whole time. They are a bit pricey but for the area and service its within normal limits. The quality of the products are really really good, and Julie threw in a free neck massage...who does that!!!! I have always been treated very well here. It's a nail salon not a spa, and the prices are relatively reasonable. They keep it clean. Everyone is always smiling and they are very fast. I usual have silk wraps or acrylic gel tips _ there is not a week that goes by that I am not complimented on how beautiful and real my nails look. Its a family owned business. Everyone in the shop is hard working, kind and friendly. they just remodled its beauiful - new massage/ pedicure chairs, all tools and equipment is immaculate. They are very accomodating when it comes to appointments. The neck and shoulder massages are a must. I cant say enough about my experience here at Silver Nails they have become like m family. The salon itself is nice with great massage chairs, but it is probably the worst french manicure I have ever gotten. I have been going to this salon for over 14 years now. Found it when I lived nearby, moved away 10 years ago but can not go anywhere else for my nails. They are the best and worth the drive for me to get there. It doesn't matter who does your nails - you don't have to ask for anyone specifically - they are all good, all consistent for a pedicure anyway which is my go-to. The place is clean, they are thorough and meticulous. Very fairly priced. Extra massage time is available and worth it whenever I get the chance! Highly recommend them.
