I've changed my mind back and forth with this place. I love Chinese food and it's nearby and I like to support small businesses. Recently we had ordered the crispy wonton noodles (the ones usually served before your meal) and they were stale, old, and rancid. I wonder how many months they were sitting around for in that unsealed bag. Now my moo goo gai pan had raw chicken in it. Unfortunately, I noticed this once I had already eaten a lot of the food so I'm hoping I don't get sick. Warning: Kung Pau chicken we picked up for dinner tonight smelled bad and had an unpleasant taste. We immediately threw it into the compost bin. Notified the restaurant of our concern about other customers eating it. All they were wanted was for us to bring it back from the garbage. My comment was I wasn't bringing my compost bin to them for a lousy refund. They had my credit card info so they could credit that ONE item. This appears too difficult for them to do. I ate only a few pieces so hopefully I won't be going to the ER tomorrow/tonight. Beware of this restaurant. Panda XPress might be a better choice. read more

We've been here twice. Dine-in and takeout. Both times, food was very good. Pupu Tray has a great assortment. Really liked the fried shrimp and paper-wrapped chicken. Assorted fried rice and lo mein includes a decent amount of protein.We've tried the sesame chicken, orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef, moo goo gai pan and all were good. I ordered food about 5 minutes before opening time. The woman who answered was very friendly and the food was ready when she said it would be. I paid $86 for the whole order. Unfortunately, the quality and portions were absolutely not worth what I paid. Aside from being small portions, the fried rice was hard, the wontons were stale and it was hard to tell if there was meat in it or not (thats how sparse it was) and the bbq pork looked very unappetizing and the taste wasn't much better. To be brutally honest I really want to give this place a higher rating just because the little grandma at the register was the sweetest person I ever met. Makes me wish that she was my grandma but alas, the food was to be blunt, bland. Everything seemed fresh and well prepared but literally had no flavor. I didn't even taste MSG! I ordered the kung pao chicken, which looked right but had no aroma whatsoever and was devoid of anything that would normally have taste on its own. Even the dried chilies were flavorless! The hot and sour soup only lived up to the hot part but only in temperature, the mixed chow mien had all sorts of meat like things and vegetables but again nothing to taste! Even the Togo soy sauce which was some panda brand was flavorless. I even threw in a curveball and ordered the fish in black bean sauce and that was, though covered in Chinese black beans, bland. I really wish the food actually tasted like food but it's the weirdest matrix glitch I've ever experienced. Paid a little over $60 for the meal Togo and tipped $10. I really hope that they have their cook try again because the people were so nice. Even the customers were gentle. read more

We got pan fried potstickers (everyone agreed we should double our order on these next time), Mongolian beef, shrimp lo mein, vegetable fried rice, salt and pepper shrimp and sweet and sour chicken. It was a lot of food. There were 7 of us, and we ate it ALL! A few wimpy guests said the shrimp was spicy, but I didn't find it so. And it didn't stop anyone from eating it either. The gentleman on the phone was very professional and easy to understand. We ordered on a Saturday evening and it took about a half hour. Food was hot and fresh when we picked up. The good thing is that it does not have high prices to go with its classiness. Silver Panda is slightly hidden in a large shopping center at the corner of Devonshire and Mason You can see it driving south on Mason. Lots of parking, but it could mean walking quite a distance in the broiling Valley sun. But when you get inside, the cool breeze, comfortable carpet, and nice chairs welcome you to dine. Lunch for me was with a coworker from across the street. She had told me that she discovered the place not long ago, loved it, and thought that this would be a perfect place for a working lunch. I had a shrimp entree, I forget exactly what. It was labeled as spicy, but wasn't as spicy as I was accustomed to. It wasn't so spicy that I couldn't taste the food. Several types of sauce to use on your egg roll. No, I did not eat my broccoli (sorry, Mom). The waiter found the sweet spot between being obtrusive and being nowhere to be found, and he offered very good service. Both of our entrees were under $10. Silver Panda is not likely to stand out as the greatest Szechuan food this side of the Santa Monica Mountains. But it is good and classy, indeed. And if you find yourself near Chatsworth, it should work for a working lunch, romantic date, family gathering, or whatever. read more

Siver Panda holds a special place in my heart. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant since I was probably 10 or something, for reference I am 27 now! Anyway the food is delicious and I miss dining in the restaurant. They have a tranquil atmosphere where you can enjoy your delicious meal. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and they always provide fantastic service. During the pandemic, we have been ordering take out from time and the food is still delicious even after a 30 min drive.
