    House chow fun

Hadn't had Chinese food in Chatsworth so my partner and I decided to try Silver Panda and it was so good! We got the small wor wonton soup, which was just enough for 2 and the wontons were delicious. Also got the house chow fun, crispy duck, and broccoli with garlic sauce add steamed tofu. Everything was really good and the service was excellent. We'll definitely be back!

Came for the lunch special. Left having to hear the owners right wing ideology. Came here because I've been here a few times before and I've enjoyed it each time. We ordered the orange chicken, twice cooked pork and the hunan beef. The special comes with soup which I got the egg drop soup. The also offer the sweet and sour soup which is equally as good. The orange chicken was nice and crispy. Such a fresh taste. The twice cooked pork and the human beef had the same tender texture which felt like it would melt in your mouth. Both had their own bold flavors which blended really well. Honestly the service was a little slow, but that's only because our waiter who was really nice. Was stretched thin white him being the only person it seemed on the floor. After a bit of time someone who I would believe to be one of the owners comes out and is talking with one of the customers. Not even trying to be in their business, but they're talking loud enough for everyone to hear. They're both spitting out right wing ideology which was really upsetting to hear. It was really disappointing to hear what was coming out their mouth. If you done want politics to mess with your business. Maybe you should be so loud about how democrats are ruining california and it's just a bunch of communists. The food was amazing. Atmosphere... not as much.

As always the food was delicious and we ate everything in sight, not to mention we also got chicken fried rice...

My family and I come here pretty often for takeout. We live in the area and it's very convenient. We love their egg drop soup! Their wonton soup isn't my favorite but their prices are pretty fair. We finally decided to dine in for the first time for dinner on a Saturday. Our server was very nice! He was attentive and friendly. He also offered some suggestions since we didn't know what to order. We loved the honey walnut shrimp, the steam sole fish, the duck, and of course our egg drop soup. It was a very yummy dinner. The only thing I found odd was that the duck came with a side of "pancakes" to wrap it in but it literally was just a side of tortillas lol Ambiance was average, it was calm. Parking is no issue since it shares a lot with other shops.

I liked the food here. I've had their wonton soup before and enjoyed it so we decided to go for dinner and try other items. Only a few issues we had the time we came. First off, let me say that the service is great. The women here are really sweet and always smile, I appreciate that. We ordered a few dishes and I would say the broccoli beef which was alright. We ordered kungpao chicken that came out just warm and was very saucy. The chicken always was a a bit chewy. Could have just have been an off night. The walnut shrimp was delicious. We also ordered cream cheese wontons which were good. I would come back and give it another try.

My husband & I recently started to come here because of recommendations from The Next Door App. I'm so glad that we did! My husband always gets the vegetable Egg Foo Young & I've had the Imperial Shrimp dish and the Yang Chow fried rice. The BBQ pork is so flavorful it's addicting. The shrimp were large, fresh & plentiful. The vegetables were fresh & cooked to perfection. Their portions are quite large - enough for a second meal to take home (unless you're super hungry). The dishes are very flavorful and nicely presented. The service is excellent. Everyone is so nice and they make sure you are happy. Nice ambiance. Highly recommend trying this restaurant.

I came for lunch with my family and it wasn't too crowded Sunday at 12:30 pm when we came, though slowly a couple more groups trickled in while we were there. They offer lunch/dinner specials that are great if you don't want to share. For $12-13 at lunch, you can get your choice of entree + rice + egg roll + soup/salad. Portions are very generous too! One person got the Szechuwan chicken lunch special for $12 and wasn't able to finish the chicken. The rest of us shared a couple dishes off the regular menu: #102 Combination seafood ($23) #620 Fish with black bean sauce ($18) #804 Szechuwan shredded pork ($15) 3 bowls of rice ($1.75 each) Of the three dishes, we liked the seafood and fish the best. They were more savory than sweet, though they were still quite sweet. I didn't like the shredded pork at all as it was much sweeter than the other two. Portions for everything were generous and we took the remaining 1/3 of the food home for lunch the next day.

We had another Chinese food choice and afterwards, we wished we had chosen the other place. This restaurant is a dumpy little joint located in a truly gross strip mall. That being said, there were plenty of people eating there, and people getting take out. So, for the area, I guess this is considered one of the better places if you don't feel like driving far. They had a new item - NY style egg rolls. As a New Yorker ex-pat, I take these very seriously and look for them all the time. Unfortunately, these were chicken. You know things are going wrong at a Chinese restaurant when the egg rolls and pot stickers are chicken instead of pork. Clearly catering to people who are not Chinese food aficionados. The egg rolls were edible but in no way good. The pot stickers were meh and the size of gyoza rather than potstickers. We got the chicken with garlic sauce and the kung pao shrimp and begged them to make them extra, extra, extra spicy. As in all non-Asian areas of town, the waitresses' eyes went wide as if we didn't know what we were asking for, but she said okay. Sure enough, both dishes came and were not only not at all spicy but completely bland. I mean super, duper bland. It has nothing to do with my rating or my meal, but watching a family at the table next to us trying to eat mu shu pork and not knowing how to eat a simple age old dish like that was somewhat frightening or amusing or both. I don't know. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion and I was captivated. Anyway, bottom line is I actually like Americanized Chinese food and even crave it sometimes to mix it up from the standard SGV authentic stuff. This just is not a good place and reminded me of all the horrible Chinese restaurants I tried throughout LA when I first moved here from NYC back in 1994. Can't recommend. Don't go.

This spot has built a reputation as a great alternative to some of the larger dim sum chains, so we were excited to finally check it out. We arrived right when they opened, grabbed a cozy table by the kitchen, and immediately noticed how welcoming the staff was. Service was genuinely outstanding! Everyone was friendly, attentive, and the dishes came out at a relaxed pace without ever feeling rushed. Five stars for the hospitality alone. Of course, we ordered a little feast to share: Dan Dan Noodles - My friend's favorite dish of the meal! We ordered them without meat, and they were rich, creamy, and coated in a delicious peanut sauce. I liked them but next time I'd opt to get them with meat to give them a little more flavor. 3.5/5. Pork & Shrimp Soup Dumplings - Exactly what we were craving. Each dumpling was juicy with a generous amount of filling, and once dipped in the vinegar soy sauce with fresh ginger and a little chili oil... absolute perfection. 4.5/5. Pork Chop Fried Rice - My personal favorite. The pork chop was crispy, flavorful, and cooked beautifully, while the classic egg fried rice underneath was pure comfort food. Simple, satisfying, and something I'd happily order again. 5/5. If you're spending the day in the Valley or find yourself around Woodland Hills, Dan Modern Chinese is definitely worth adding to your list. This isn't a cheap hole in the wall spot, so you'll pay a little more but everything was tasty and a great portion size for 2-3 people sharing.
