Yay! A hotpot spot that's local to me! I've been coming to this place since they soft opened a few years ago. I love hotpot/soup and eating hotpot from this place has always hit the spot. Little FYI by the way - Just recently, this location switched their dining style/format to AYCE which I think is a really nice and welcome change. You mean I can eat even more? Say less. I also recommend this place to people that haven't tried hotpot yet. Staff are really attentive and helpful. Was underwhelmed by my visit here, though perhaps I ordered the wrong pot. Came here for Father's Day lunch since they were offering $0.99 appetizers all weekend. When my party of 3 arrived around 11:30 am, it was pretty empty with one other party seated. For apps, we got the popcorn chicken and calamari. Both were fantastic, perhaps a tiny bit salty but overall the flavor was good. I shared the seafood lobster pot ($24.95) with my dad and we were both underwhelmed. There wasn't much seafood in the pot, instead it was full of veggies like napa cabbage and mushrooms. Other than the lobster tail, all the other seafood came in two's, like two small shrimp, two fishballs, two thin slices of fish, etc. They say this is a large size pot meant for sharing, but there's no way this can feed two people. Thank goodness we ordered appetizers to supplement, otherwise I would have left hungry. My friend ordered the veggie pot with tomato soup for $19.95 and really enjoyed his pot. read more

Was excited to try this spot, but my family and I did not have the best experience whatsoever. First off there were advertised photo menu items of set bowls outside and inside of the restaurant, which we were prepared to order from. We were not notified that it is now an AYCE menu until we sat down. For those that aren't looking to spend AYCE prices, this is a problem especially if you wait awhile to be seated and are not interested in paying more. We waited for awhile outside which we expected and didn't mind. We get seated and a few minutes after our orders were taken the server says "If you need anything else please let me know". (She never once came back to our table) She also let us know that we can order additional items online which we did. I realized I didn't order rice so I ordered that and a Coke online. I get the Coke quick. We get up to get our Ayce toppings and are constantly being bumped and having to dodge the servers who were nonstop zooming by even seated getting bumped. These servers were moving so fast without consideration to others around them. My husband tried to ask questions to one and was talked over and rushed which was really rude. We were never checked on and asked if we were doing alright or needed anything. We would flag down a server to ask for something and they would always react as if we were a bother to them. Majority of the time, they would never come back with what was asked for and we'd have to ask multiple people. Rewind back to me ordering rice online a few minutes after we sat down. We were nearing the end of our meal after 2 follow ups when we finally received our rice. At this time as well, I've also asked multiple servers for a refill of my broth and it took a third time asking to receive it. I first walked up to the girl that seated us and asked her then see her walk behind the counter and start conversing and laughing with a fellow server never tending back to us. I asked a second server that walked by and nada. My bowl is now dry as I asked the 3rd server. He comes back with the broth and I say miso for me and sukiyaki for my husband. My husband who was over the meal already also with a dry bowl replies back with none for me I'm done. The guy pours my miso and then pours miso in my husbands bowl even after he told him he didn't want anymore. I also try to clarify that he ordered sukiyaki and he proceeds to explain that it's all the same broth which wasn't the point. My husband didn't want anymore, but it was still given to him and the wrong one at that. Tell me why my mom asked for a Sprite mid meal and it also took asking 3 servers to finally receive it once we were practically done. Also we ordered fries in the beginning and the girl asked if we wanted it spicy, we said no because it was for our kid. Later on in the meal we tried to order spicy fries and a different server tells us they don't offer that. Variety with the veggies and fish cakes can use some work, but all of the necessary ones are there. Meat options are limited on silver with better cuts on the gold tier. Variety of appetizers are also decent with Mala skewers, fries, calamari, dumplings, takoyaki, and rice bowls. Sauce station is lacking sesame oil but does have sesame sauce. Caution before you visit! The restaurant's reel advertises "$22.95/$23 All You Can Eat" and emphasize unlimited skewers and other appetizers. However, it does not disclose that there are two different AYCE tiers. If you're expecting to receive the skewers and other appetizers shown in the promotion, you'll actually need to order the $28.95 GOLD option. I couldn't find any explanation of these two tiers anywhere on their Instagram page. I also noticed someone asked about the AYCE prices in the comments, and the restaurant replied: "$22.95 for lunch & $28.95 for dinner with unlimited meat, appetizers and our signature rice bowl." That response still doesn't explain that there are different menu tiers or that the skewers and some of the items shown in the promotion are not included in the lower-priced option. I personally found the promotion misleading because it gave me the impression that the advertised items were included with the $22.95/$23 AYCE. This is the worst place to come eat hot pot, starting with the service we had to continuously ask for water & refills as no other drinks were offered and they would forget to give us water. It is an all you can eat hot pot for $28.95 per person does not matter if it's a child under age or taller than 4 feet everyone is charged the same (adult or child), they have a $7 feet per person for food waste. The pot was boiling hot and couldn't even eat the food, because there is no adjusting the heat temp. WE ALL ENDED UP WITH OUR TONGUES BURNED! We ran out of soup juice and had to get up to ask for more as the server wouldn't go to our table and he came with water and said "Get up so I can fill it up" no excuse me or would you pls get up. Another person in my party asked for them to turn off the propane for his pot and instead the server put more water/soup until we asked again for them to turn it off. There was no flavor on the soup and everything was extremely hot and very overcooked. The place itself looks and is dirty as well as the tables. The restrooms smell like Raid coach-roach killing spray and was very dirty, the hand soap just had water in it. They close at 10pm and around 10:20 the server said "I'm sorry you guys have to leave, we are closed" First & last time coming here!!! Left with a burned tongue, upset stomach and headache from the smell of propane and "Raid" smell. Overall would never recommend to anyone! Only because you have to give it a star for the review, otherwise I would give it 0 stars. I would have and am considering on requesting a full/half refund because it was overall really bad and overpriced. $127 plus tip for a party of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) for a burning hot pot is ridiculous!!! read more

I absolutely love being able to build my own bowl exactly how I want it every single time. Great selection of sauces (my bf loved the satay and the soy garlic hit home for me), really great attentive service even tho u could tell the server was the only one working the floor. We shared the tomato hotpot and calamari. They were both sooo good. Love the spicy salt on the calamari. Maybe bc we have smaller appetites but we found the serving size perfect. They are consistent with providing great care and excellent customer service to their diners. They are also one of the few restaurants that label their menu with ingredients and allergy information. We love to frequent restaurants that provide both excellent customer service and cater to families with food allergies. We ordered the Cheesy Milk Hot Soup, Curry, Hot Soup, Beef Hot Soup, Tomato Hot Soup and Fried Calamari. Delicious, plentiful and flavorful hot pots with lots of beef, shrimp, scallops, crabs and vegetables along with muscles. Tasty Pot did not disappoint. Their Fried Calamari is also good, crispy and crunchy. We also appreciated the fact that their base soups vary and you have the option to choose none peanut and non sesame broth soups especially if you're a family with food allergies. I've been here twice now, and my first visit was on Mother's Day. I must say, this place is fantastic! I ordered the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup, and the portion was generous enough for two people to share comfortably. The hot pot itself reminded me of Taiwan, bringing back memories with its authentic flavors and comforting taste. While I wasn't a huge fan of the takoyaki, everything else more than made up for it. Super tasty broth options!!! Menu shows the pricing on the top right of the sheets and they also vary depending on lunch period or dinner period. Lunch pricing is until 4PM I believe. I like that the menu also easily shows if there's nuts included in the dish!!! Usually pretty slow when we come in, so the server is very attentive and is easy to grab the attention of. Perfect for when it's cold outside and I think it's a good spot to go to. Parking lot has plenty of free parking usually but there's a lot of businesses in the area. Another thing, I do like about this place is that I am able to turn the flame off myself lol. The food here was all right. The service was good but our servers seemed a bit out of it. One server dropped our utensils and my husband's spoon broke and the next server spilled boiling soup on our table. They were nice about it and apologized but I thought that was interesting. This building was previously a Sichuan restaurant, though with new owners they now serve up individualized portions of hot pot. Four of us stopped by to warm up from all the chilly weather. It was fairly empty around lunchtime, and it was fairly quiet inside. We all ordered the Taiwanese Supreme, since they are listed as a Taiwanese restaurant, and also since the name was rather striking. Within about ten minutes, the pots were carted out and ready to dig in. You get a huge portion, and they pack a heck of a lot of ingredients, all laid out in the detail on their menus. For the Taiwanese Supreme, here's what inside: Taiwanese cabbage, instant noodle, beef slices, beef tendon, enoki mushroom, tempura, clam, Fuzhou fishball, cuttlefish ring, pork blood rice cake, pork intestine, fried tofu skin, brown beech mushroom, tofu, imitation crabmeat, meatball, sour mustard, fried tofu puff, cilantro, and scallion, all in a pork broth. I'd say they pile on a good amount of everything. For this selection during lunch, it's currently $23.45. It was the perfect amount of food with lots of interesting flavors and texture in every bite. Next time, I'd like to try some of their others like the Japanese Miso or Thai Soup. Words cannot express how happy I am that they opened a Tasty Pot location in Northridge! As a Boiling Point fan, it's hard to find an equivalent in the valley and it has been years since I've lived in Irvine so I was definitely craving something similar. I saw that this location was open until 10 PM and was pleasantly surprised that there was NO WAIT on a Thursday evening at 8 PM. BP could literally never. The staff was sweet and I placed my order via QR code on the table. They have 4 different sauces/spices on the table and I always opt for soy garlic which was the right balance of sweetness. The beef pot is my favorite and it also has pretty much the same ingredients in it. HOWEVER, Tasty Pot has a HEAPING serving of beef in comparison to Boiling Point which means you're getting more bang for your buck. The pot comes with its own sterno that you can turn off if it gets too hot and the server will come to your table from time to time to top you up with more broth if you would like. Walking in, I was greeted by decor that screamed welcome to Taiwan. Until you scratch the surface and realize the whole operation actually started in San Francisco. Which technically is kind of Taiwan adjacent if you squint, eat some Kim chi, dumpling, hot soup, and suspend disbelief. I ordered the #7 kimchi dumpling hot soup, which came with, roughly the entire Pacific Ocean and half a farm inside it. Pork slices? Check. Shrimp? check. Clams? Check. An anxious flooding around an existential confusion? Also check. Honestly, it felt less like a meal and more like an episode of wears Waldo, except Waldo was a vermicelli noodle trying not to drown in kimchi bone broth. The soup itself? Spicy, savory, and hot enough to sear away any bad decisions you made during freshman year. The flavors were layered like, I could almost taste the corporate tagline whispering "real meat, bones, cabbage, and seasoning imported from Taiwan, Los Angeles, San Gabriel adjacent." Which saves the fair amount of on the gas bill if you're in the San Fernando Valley. Minimum while, the vibe in the restaurant was comfortably modern, which I think translates to "dim lights, clean tables, and just enough Taiwanese signage to trick your brain into forgetting that you're in Northridge." The staff was friendly, though they definitely had that "please don't order anything else, we close in 10 minutes" smile plastered on their faces. I will try to be considered as fast and leave, But the tasty hot pot is hot. Their motto: "in order to live well, you must eat well." odd words for a place that gives me imitation crime,, vocal, and mini sausage in the same pot. But you know what? They're not wrong - I left feeling alive, full, and mildly sweaty. So yes, tasty pot is authentic, San Francisco Taiwanese authenticity. A place where you're a soup has more supporting characters than a marvel movie, your broth is scolding enough to file a lawsuit, and your late night cravings fully meet their chaotic match.
