A $50 buffet is kind of expensive but was well worth it. I ate multiple pieces of prime rib, all prepared rare, the only way prime rib shld be. The crab legs were solid as well. My husband was so excited for the buffet of crab and prime rib. He talked about this for days prior to our trip. We ate there Friday night and we were early one of the first to go down to the basement for dinner. The prime rib was tough and cold I love beef. We raise cattle and I know what good beef is. Even though I prefer mine more lean this was tough no flavor and served cold. The crab was also not hot they are little snow crab which if you like crab they probably are good. I don't like them and I didn't try them. He ate a couple legs and was over it disappointed. He also thought the prime was cold and tough. The other couple in our party ate sausage and they said it was good. I had cook mashed potatoes and a small spoon of baked macaroni and cheese which was Luke warm. The salad bar is spectacular I could make a meal in the alone. The cleanliness of the place is good other than the person cleaning sprayed cleaner all over the desserts. She was cleaning the glass sneeze guard but sprayed all Willy nilly and sprayed the cleaner all Over the cake. The waitress we had was good for the most part. They were not busy when we went which was around 6 in the evening. I bet they got busy later idk. Everything was ok nothing special. Lots of hype for nothing The place is pretty and they seating is great lots of room. This could be fabulous with hot food So we got really sick in the night with stomach issues. Our whole party. We came in as a party of 5 for the weekend prime rib buffet with crab legs, which came in at about $50pp (just under) with waters. Our server was on point. She was grabbing empty plates, filling glasses & dumping crab carcasses lickety split. It was busy, so the prime rib and crab legs were bring filled regularly. That said, the shells were too soft to effectively crack & the beef was frequently overcooked (not a spot of pink to be found). Because of this, we'd hustle up in hopes of a better main with each new batch. As for the sides & other dishes that were out - the fried chicken was a hit but most other items were clearly out too long. Nobody wants dried up pasta - so, it sat & was still sitting when we left an hour later. I can't say I timed my prime rib correctly this time out, so, my dinner was crab legs & fried chicken, rounded out off with a dish of soft-serve. This place isn't fancy, we went for brunch, which was adequate and had a large selection. It was right before lunch so they had salmon out and it smelled up the restaurant which bothered me but no one else in our group minded so it wasn't too bad. It's not cheap, but drinks are readily brought to your table whenever you're ready. I probably wouldn't go back since there are so many good places to eat in deadwood but if you're in need of a late brunch this is one of the only places to get it read more

Every August I head to South Dakota for the Strugis Bike Rally and this was the year I went to the Silverado Grand Buffet with a group of my friends. We went during the week so we didn't experience the Crab Legs which are served on the weekend. When we entered we noticed the place was clean with a historical feel to it. We were sat down immediately and all purchased the buffet. The food was good and even had Prime rib several sides and quality desserts. Overall the service was good was great. The price with iced tea was $22.00. This was our best meal at the Bike Rally. Will definitely return. read more

We stopped here on 4th of July weekend. For around $22 a person, it is awesome. But Vegas buffet, it ain't. It is somewhat limited. I had three slices of Prime Rib - off three different roast, two were perfect and one sucked. The Prime Rib is excellent, really amazing for the price......I was very happy with the cuts. The one cut that was not on par, it was simply way to rare, like moo'ing bloody rare. The au Juice is perfect and flavorful, add the raw horseradish and creamy radish for a fabulous dish. Salad bar was clean and fresh. I had some blue cheese and honey mustard, half and half, for variety, both dressings were great. On the main bar, I sampled the meat loaf (awful, dry, maybe people were skipping?), cowboy beans - A+++++, mac n cheese - solid B, fried chicken - decent, green beans were awful, ribs were okay but I did not like the BBQ sweat sauce. Try the wood fired pizza, it is decent. Pro TIp - just keep an eye out for a fresh pie coming out. Service was excellent, the gal serving us was a hustler with a smile. I went to Silverado Grand Buffet I got the prime rib omg it's so juicy and the turkey with cranberry sauce I love cranberry sauce. The salad was good and I like the chicken and rice soup I loved it. it was potatoes were soggy, Mac and cheese was alright the meatloaf was very good and the salmon was ok...but the dessert was delicious. read more

The main reason for my low score is the wait times. We had to wait an hour and a half just to even get in. We almost up and left. The food was good! Everyone else had crab (I can't have it) and craw. I just wish they had a little more for people that aren't into crab. I had the choices of pasta (sat out awhile), breadsticks, prime rib or dessert. For most that would be adequate but for a buffet setting with 50 bucks per person I'd expect more variety. The service was top notch. Waitress was amazing kept our drinks coming and cleared our plates amazingly. Can't say as I'd come back again(not really a casino type person) but this is the place to go if you want lots of decent crab! read more

This review if for their breakfast buffet only. Bad. I guess the eggs benedict had been sitting around a while because the English muffin could not be chewed. Bad. Sausage patty had obviously been sitting there a while. Tough and cold. Average. Scrambled eggs. Kinda hard to screw them up. Decent. Gravy. I mixed it with the hash browns and threw the remnants of the egg of the eggs benedict on it which redeemed it. Will not buy there again but other than that, life is good. read more

I would give it 5 stars except our only complaint was the woman carving the meat yelled at my Husband when he asked for an end piece of prime rib and she gave him this tiny little piece. He then asked her if he could get a little more and she told him she did exactly what he asked for and he only gets one slice at a time!! That is BS! This is a buffet. She was totally unprofessional and we let our waitress know who then let the manager know. Other than that, we enjoyed our Valentines with our son and the food was great and so was everyone else besides the crabby carver. read more

It's called a prime rib buffet, but you only get a piece less than a half an inch thick. Maybe a 4-6 oz morsel of meat. And if you ask him for a thicker piece of meat. The answers no! So enjoy your $22 - 4 ounce piece of meat. I know I won't be back! read more

I can't believe I even have to give this place a one star! I'd give it zero! Here is my review off of a FB Group for South Dakota that I posted. I will NEVER recommend Silverado to NON-WHITES!! My family and I enjoyed 5 days in South Dakota. We stayed in a very cute tiny house located in Deadwood. We took our kids to Spearfish Canyon, Candyland, Bear Country USA, Custer State Park (and rented a UTV; super exhilarating!!), explored Lake Pactola, and drove through a lot of scenic routes. Everyone we encountered was exceptionally kind and friendly. The only thing I ran into that was upsetting was at the Silverado. My family and I love AYCE buffets, so with the Silverado being a 8 minute drive from us, we headed there on Saturday night (our last night in SD) for dinner. I knew it was a casino, so I lectured/educated my children (ages 11, 9, 8, and 5) to not touch any of the machines prior to arriving, as we would need to navigate through to find the buffet. As soon as we got inside, my 5 year old was amazed at all the lights (which 5 year old wouldn't be?) and she was pulling me towards the machine and waving at one saying, "Mommy! Let's just play one game!" I pulled her back and whispered to her, "Nope. What did I say to you and your siblings before we came? No touching. These are only for adults, okay?" and this was when one of the Silverado workers (a skinny male, probably early 30's) approached my 5 year old and I began to scream at us. He said, "NO!! NO NO NO NO!!! DONT TOUCH THAT!!! YOU DO NOT TOUCH THAT!!!" while waving one finger at us. Of course I got angry. I looked at him and said, "She did NOT touch it, THANK YOU, sir." He continued to yell at us saying, "IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO PAY AND PLAY, DON'T TOUCH!" And I said, "WE ARE HERE FOR THE BUFFET! Thank you!" and I proceeded towards the buffet line. I checked in with the lady and she said it was an hour and 20 minute wait. We thought we could wait, so we said yes. As soon as our conversation was done with the lady, I didn't realize that the man followed us and proceeded to continue yelling at me and my family again. He said, "YOU SHOULDN'T BE TOUCHING THINGS!!! IF YOU DO, WE WILL FINE YOU $25,000!!! DON'T TOUCH!" And I said, "EXCUSE ME SIR! Did you REALLY have to follow us?! My daughter did NOT touch your damn machines! You think I don't understand what a casino is!? Maybe you think I don't speak or understand English!?" And he continued yelling at us and making a big scene. It was embarrassing as we were the only Asian family in there and this guy was going 100% berserk on us. All eyes were on us, so I told my husband we were not going to wait. The lady who checked us into the buffet was watching too and did not say a word. Yes, we felt that this male worker targeted us, as there were other families in there with smaller children than mine whom were running around the casino FREELY with their parent behind them. I will never go back to the Silverado or recommend this place to any "non-white" friends. read more

I would rather get crabs than step foot in this establishment ever again. The crab legs were too skinny to get any meat out of, and all of the food was cold. Except for the caramel sauce at the ice cream station, which was so hot that it exploded on my hand and wrist, leaving burn marks. This placed is an overpriced Golden Corral. The prime rib was decent but the crab legs were trash. The Silverado sure was happy to take my money all week. We went three times during sturgis: once, with a party of six another time, with a party of eight, and the last day, we took our whole crew and family, which was 14 people. They sure were happy to take our money, but we were escorted out by security, which met us downstairs by the buffet, because we had a two month old baby with us during our last visit. The staff was also very rude about it. I will not be back, and I will ensure everyone I know knows about the service. These people are on a power trip. I clearly know I can't walk into a casino with my baby and made a quick exit after dinner. read more

This is a 5 star because it's in Deadwood. It's not the Bellagio or Ceasar's in Vegas. But, it's still pretty damn good. We ate there 2 nights in a row while being tourists in the great American city. There's probably other good places to eat dinner in Deadwood, but in our opinion the Grand Buffet had everything we liked and it was all fresh and tasty. Salad was crispy fresh with great fixin's and dressings. The fried chicken was very good and the fried fish was good. The "prime rib" wasn't prime, or even choice, but was still good and tasted like good rib roast. There are many other items that are available, including a couple of very tasty desserts and get your own soft serve ice cream. For about $25 each you can't go wrong with this place. I should mention that all food areas, and the seating areas too, are very clean and orderly. Added bonus was no cigarette smell! And as with any other buffet, the best time to go is when there are lots of folks there. read more
