    Blaze Ramen

Stopped to try this place finally. We were seated quickly. Waiter was very kind. We ordered the Ramen & Appetizer special for $20.50. We also order Spicy Chicken Bun, Edamame, Gyoza and spicy Ramen and the classic. The broth on that Ramen was amazing. It wasn't over bearing and every bite was full of taste. The Pork belly was so soft. Everything was so flavorful. They had a nice crowd but there was no mishap on the customer service. Service was A1. If you want a variety of options this is the place to give a try.

Ordered ramen with some extras and broccoli. It was easy to use the app and even got a free topping. Located across the street from our hotel, we needed lunch and ramen sounded good. Food was ready quickly. Inside was clean and staff was helpful. The food looked and smelled yummy. The ramen was flavorful and all our extra toppings were perfect. The broccoli was crisp and the sesame sauce was delicious. The pork bun was declared a new favorite. Overall great food, our togo bag did not have enough utensils for us but we made the best of it.

I always enjoy coming to Silverlake Ramen since you can always count on quick, yummy, hearty ramen. Arriving there, there is usually a slight wait, but nothing that goes over 10 minutes. I ordered the pork belly ramen and as always, it was delightful. The broth is rich and creamy and it only adds to the fattiness of the porky belly. I do wish they would add a little more spice since it would help bring out the flavors a little more and give it that extra bit of kick.

Great food! The blaze chicken is my favorite! Diana and staff are always so welcoming.

Services was very fast! We ordered our meal and drinks and within minutes we were served. I had a rice bowl with chicken which was delicious. Other members in my party had ramen and they enjoyed it. The ambience of the place is busy and family friendly.

The ramen here is pretty tasty. I ordered the garlic noddles with pork and we also ordered the blaze with pork. Tried the fried dumplings and they were good too. When your order a soda they give you a can for like I think $3 or $4 bucks which is pricey since you get no refills. The service was fast today they brought everything out within 10 minutes. Ambiance inside is nice and cozy. Parking is great because there's a lot of parking. I would recommend this ramen place.

I grew up in downey and my friend invited me for dinner at Silverlake Ramen. Wow how downey has changed! I wish we had all these options when I grew up here. The ramen was delicious for the cold evening and service was super quick and efficient. Inside seating was comfortable and we were sat immediately when we walked in but I could imagine it being difficult to find a seat when it gets crowded during peak hours. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Great spot and glad downey has a good choice for some tasty ramen!

Ordered through DoorDash and everything was packed nicely, which was so appreciated since we had a large order. I got the blaze ramen and a pork bun. The ramen broth was flavorful and the pork was so tender. The noodles had a nice bite and chew. The pork bun was also really good, the bread was moist and the pickled red onions added a nice touch of acidity. I also had some of the chicken Karaage and thought it was just ok, but this might be because we ordered for delivery and it wasn't crispy. I'd reorder/visit from this business again!

Walked into restaurant and was overpowered by string bleach odor. Service was quick with refreshments as soon as we sat. Plastics sheet menus seemed cheap. Ambiance was nice and simple with music not overpowering. Ordered a shoyu ramen bowl and regular soboro rice bowl. Ramen came fast and first but rice bowl came 4 minutes later. Food was delicious but the ground chicken was too fine and spilled out too easily.

I'm glad Downey now has a decent ramen-dedicated spot, as opposed to having to go to a Japanese restaurant that only offered 1 type of ramen and 1 udon. This place was perfect for a rainy day. Ramen was pretty good, noodles had a good bouncy texture to it. The chicken threw me off, but that's my fault for getting the chicken. I think it would've tasted better if I had gotten pork. Service seemed busy as I did come in during lunch time. A lot of employees from nearby offices, clinics, etc. were dining in and also saw a decent amount of mobile orders being picked up. I was by myself and sat at the bar. Workers looked busy, so sometimes felt inconvenient asking them for something, but couldn't fault them for that. The girls were friendly and did their job well. Ambiance was clean and organized. They do a waitlist via Yelp, so I'm sure it comes in handy on weekend rushes. Parking was easy as there is a lot that's shared with the next door establishments as well.

Ordered take out the other day. It's been a while since having Ramen. Ordered from the quiosk which seemed simple but a host came by to assist and ensured ai got what ai wanted. The ambiance was lively. Packed house with a few outside waiting to get in. Knew ai was at the right place. Ordered the Shoyu chicken with spicy chicken broth and Crispy Chicken Karaage. Was very satisfied with my meal. Nice and hot still when ai got it home. The Tamen quenched a crave for sure. Nice spicy with all fresh ingredients which added an even more flavor. The Crispy Chicken Karaage was delicious with the sauce or by itself. Crispy morsels of chicken that were also flavorful standing on their own as well as with the sauce. Will surely go again. Gratitude and give thanks Silverlake Ramen and Staff for a great meal that was worth it in every aspect. See you soon.

Best Ramen in the area! I'm so glad that Silver Lake Ramen has opened in Downey. We have been to Cerritos location before and this new location makes it so much more convenient to enjoy a great bowl of ramen. Located on Firestone blvd across from the Embassy suites, this place has plenty of parking space. The restaurant is clean with modern, minimalist decor and mixed seating options, including tables with chairs and booth style seating. This place has two gender neutral restrooms. We arrived around 7:30pm and it was completely packed, with only two tables available. There are two self order kiosks for takeout, which can help bypass the wait for a table. Once seated, we were greeted by Vanessa. I can't praise her enough. She was incredibly attentive from the moment we ordered until we left. Ramen options vary from $16.50 to $18.00. Appetizers range from $5.25 to $8.50. They also offer a combo option, which appears to be the best deal at just $20.50. We all ordered combo option. Kids ordered Classic + Gyoza and Garlic Truffle Ramen + Karaage. My husband ordered Blaze (medium heat level) and I picked Shoyu on Fire (extra spicy) and we both added Spicy Chicken Bun as appetizer. Let me start with APPETIZERS: Crispy Chicken Karaage was delicious with right level of seasoning. It was crispy and not dry at all. Gyoza was good too and kids liked it but I personally found it a bit oily. The Spicy Chicken Buns included kimchi, green onions and teriyaki sauce with Chicken Karaage (same chicken that is offered in appetizer). The bun was soft, but I wished the Teriyaki sauce was a little less overpowering. RAMEN: We all chose pork as our protein option. I was little concerned that my son might not like garlic truffle ramen, but he actually enjoyed it till the last drop. My daughter didn't want veggies in her broth, so they accommodated our request by serving bean sprouts, green onions, spinach and seaweed on the side. My husband who is a big Tonkostu fan, enjoyed his order of Blaze with medium heat level. He said the spice level was perfect! My order of Shoyu on Fire (extra spicy) came with a scoop of spicy sauce in the bowl. I believe this allows you to mix it in according to your tolerance. I usually handle spicy food well, but let me warn you to start with a small amount and adjust as needed. I only mixed in a quarter of the sauce and scooped out the rest, and I was so glad I did. Even that small amount made the soup extra spicy for me, despite my high spice tolerance. The only thing I still couldn't figure out was the amount of protein served in each bowl. My daughter's Classic soup had three pieces of protein, while the rest of us had only one. We will be sure to clarify this during our next visit before we order. Overall, we all enjoyed our food and had great experience at this location. We are excited to have Silverlake Ramen in Downey and will definitely be returning!

I went to Silverlake Ramen in Downey with a friend recently. I had The Classic Ramen with a Pork Bun and lemonade. I really liked the ramen bowl I chose. I thought the bun was okay. The lemonade was good. We had vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup as dessert. The ice cream wasn't very flavorful and appeared to have freezer burn.

The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we were seated right away. The menu looked great, and I was excited to see Shirley Temples on the drink menu. We ordered the Pork Belly Oshi and the Rock Shrimp Tempura to start. The Pork Belly Oshi was good, though I wish the rice had been crispier. The Rock Shrimp Tempura was delicious--the creamy spicy sauce was so good. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen (no mushrooms because my boyfriend is allergic) and added the small Chashu Rice Bowl for $5. The broth was amazing--rich and creamy without being too heavy. The rice bowl was good too, though I wish the mayo on top had a little spice. Adding chili oil and sriracha fixed that. My boyfriend got the Chicken Shoyu Ramen, and after stealing a sip of his broth, I can confirm it was delicious too. The service was excellent. The host was super friendly and gave manager/owner vibes, our server was great, and other staff members checked on us throughout the meal. Our bill was around $70 for two people, including appetizers, drinks, ramen, and the extra rice bowl. We even had leftovers to bring home, so I thought it was a great value. Overall, a really solid late-night spot with great service and food. We'd definitely come back.

Susuru Ramen Bar is located on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and N Kingsley Dr. The lot is small sharing spaces with other restaurants so your best bet is street parking, which can also be tricky especially later in the day. The restaurant is small, with the register counter as the first thing you see walking through the door. There's bar seating against the wall, and 2-3 tables for groups of maybe 4-6 people. The lady manning the front counter as well as taking orders and serving was fantastic. Very friendly and checked up on all tables through out the night. For ramen, my bf got the Tonkotsu ($1 extra for spicy), and I got the Mayu. I see why it has such high reviews, both were delicious. The roasted garlic oil was amazing and complimented the pork broth. The seasoned soft-boiled egg was our favorite part, not just lightly seasons either. It was sweet and savory with each bite, and the creaminess from the jammy yolk was fantastic. The charred cha siu slices had a slight sweetness too, and the fat through the slices gave it this wonderful melt in your mouth, mouth feel. My wife and I visited on a busy Saturday evening and it was as you would expect. It was super busy, about a 20-30 minute wait even after getting on the Yelp waitlist via our phones early. Parking - Valet, currently $7.00 but we decided to park a bit further away and walked over. Free parking on streets but some are metered parking. So parking here is pretty limited and a bit hectic. We each got our own bowls of ramen, classic & shoyu respectively. We also ordered a side of Chicken Karaage to share, very crispy and well made. Highly recommend as an appetizer. It's a bit spicy with the sauce dip though. Firstly, the ramen bowls were presented quickly, service was quick as well and staff was friendly, very nice atmosphere despite how busy it was. Each bowl itself is huge but thats mostly for presentation. I absolutely love the quality of noodles/ramen here. Each bite was creamy and savory, not too salty as well which is always a plus for ramen shops. I'm very impressed with the portions as well and yes it can be deceiving because of how big the bowl is but the portion size is pretty decent. Love each and every bite. The restaurant was pretty busy, but my wait wasn't bad at all. Once I got seated, service was pretty quick. My meal was served within 15 minutes. Started off with the crispy chicken karaage, which came with a side of spicy aioli sauce. The chicken itself was already so flavorful and juicy that the sauce was not even needed. It was also very crispy and was the perfect appetizer. My partner had the Classic Ramen, while I had the Shoyu Ramen. I really appreciate that both our bowls were served at the same time. The classic ramen had a delicious creamy pork stock with just the right amount of black garlic oil. I would highly recommend this ramen. As for the shoyu ramen, it had a clear chicken stock and bamboo shoots. This ramen was decent, but nothing to be amazed at. The biggest downside of this spot is the parking situation. There is a small parking lot with paid valet parking. Other than that, there is some street parking, but even finding a parking spot on the street can be difficult. It is best to visit during off hours.

When I came here yesterday afternoon, I ordered the Hakata Ramen which is basically a tonkotsu style ramen. Every aspect of it is customizable including the broth, noodles, and toppings. I just went with the default options, which i believe they recommend for first timers. On the side, I got a flavored egg, and pork belly. The broth was solid. It was flavorful, and fatty. The noodles were the right firmness as well. However, the chashu pork and pork belly were pretty mediocre. I know this sounds harsh but hear me out. Even after bathing them in the broth, they were dry and not tender. I didn't enjoy the flavored egg either. It was overly boiled and barely marinated. Despite the shortcomings noted above, I'm still giving this place four stars because the service is fantastic. The staff is very nice and provide incredibly fast service. My drink came out in like one minute. The refill came out even faster. They also offer free refills of the noodles.

I have been here several times and service plus quality of the food never changes! Seats here don't have any back support but it adds to the modern aesthetic and vibe of the restaurant. I've been eyeing the cucumber crab salad, so I look forward to coming back and trying it next time.
