Delicious poke for a great price! I was heading to the theater nearby and found this place on Yelp. It's across from Porto's in the plaza. There is ample parking in the lot. The store was clean, organized, and was super refreshing with strong AC. I got the 2 scoops for $14. I loved that you can pick 6 sides! Even though I did the spring salad as my base, I got pretty full because of the sides (and two scoops of protein.) plus a free small bowl of miso with each poke order! The bathroom had a code and was very clean. Thought the fish mirror was a cute touch. Staff was very friendly. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place for poke if you're in the area! read more

This place is absolutely delicious and it's my go to place for poke in Downey. I love the variety in protein choices and sauces. I just can not deal with a place that says they open at a certain time 11am, but when you show up at 11am they're doors are locked, tables are not set up and they're not ready to serve you at all. Also if you show up and this happens not all menu options will be available. I can not understand the concept of this. Truthfully, it's disappointing. This was a really good meal. I was trying to have Korean barbecue, but the line was too big ! So gratefully this place was right next-door. I got the salad . Here's a tip. I suggest asking for your wasabi on the side in a separate container, so you don't accidentally eat it thinking it's avocado. I am very very happy to have a poke place so close to me! The inside was clean and very cute with its blue booths and outside area. The man welcomed us and i was a little shocked at the price before seeing that tax was included AND 5 scoops (usually a large is 4 at other places) so i was happy. The fish was very fresh! I wish i couldve gotten a bit more sauce (and more sauce options like a ponzu) but theyre new so you never know! My husband has to be gluten free & he was happy to see they had gf eel sauce on the menu, but it wasnt labelled gf on the bottle (the soy sauce was) so he asked to double check. The man just said he didnt know. My husband asked could we find out? Eel sauce is not usually gluten free and he didnt want to be sick later. The employee went to the back to check and he said no. It was confusing. Then the employee having break behind us spoke up and it seemed like she told him it WAS gluten free, so my husband got some. I think if you offer some gf options, everyone working should know what is or is not allergen free so the customers can make informed choices. The fish was fresh, the bowl was a good size! The avo is free! I wolfed mine down and enjoyed it a lot. I got spicy salmon, albacore, and tuna. They also had a ton of dry toppings available which i may get next time. Don't ever purchase food from here through Postmates. Since when is poke served on SALAD??! Why have it as an option on Postmates if you are not going to provide it? We also ordered a sprite, a coconut water, and a miso soup, we didn't receive any of that. We made the order at 7:21 according to the receipt and you guys close at 8pm. You still had time, it's not like you were about to close and no longer wanted to make rice so you resorted to giving us salad instead. This is also inconvenient for the Postmates/Uber Eats driver, they have to have a back and forth with us because of your service, or lack of. Thankfully we were able to get our money back, Postmates is notorious for not returning the money if we decide to cancel the order. I will not be eating from here again nor will we be recommending it to anyone. We were really excited to try this new place, we're really disappointed with this experience. read more

Came in around 2:00 PM today to order a poke bowl and had a really frustrating experience. The door was unlocked, people were inside eating, and one customer was actively paying--so it clearly looked like they were open. As I was about to order, the employee ran over and told me they couldn't serve me because they had to go on their lunch break and that I'd need to come back in 30 minutes. I completely understand employees needing breaks, but there was no sign on the door, no warning, and the business was still letting people sit inside and finish their meals. It was confusing and honestly disappointing to be turned away after already walking in and waiting. This seems like more of a management issue--there should be clear communication if the kitchen is closed, especially if the door is unlocked and customers are still inside. This place is super good and they make their refreshments like the green lychee tea in house which is fireeee...but i do wish they had more than 1 person working sometimes. I ordered regular amount of sauce also and there was very little. The employee also immediately informed me that there was no jalapeños as I requested since she said they were "bad at ordering." I sat outside at the yoghhrtland seating instead haha. I've been here twice: they have been giving out free miso. Online ordering is a bit of a mess because you can't order the same scoop more than once. So since the system forces me I have to choose all different scoops of protein. Rice could also be fresher. Avocado is free which is nice. But it's mashed which is disappointing. The parking lot sucks! But that doesn't matter too much to me as it's walking distance. So I really hope they improve because it's so close to me. The only other Downey poke is not quite walking distance. Online also says there's curbside but there's no marked area in parking and when I asked the girl about it she seemed confused. I don't think her English is the best. She is friendly though. This was one of my favorite poke places however, today I was told they no longer carry coins and that I must have exact change or they were rounding up to the next dollar. No where was this new policy posted and I was not told until I went to pay. The owner did confirm they were no longer carrying coins. It was very sad to hear that a business would rather throw away $39. of food as she did offer for me not to take the food when i questioned the new policy without notice than to round down and forfeit the .60 cents. They serve you about three small pieces of fish and the rest is mostly rice. You end up paying around $20 for a plate that's basically all rice. I've noticed that the miso soup flavor is quite inconsistent. Either it's too salty or tastes watered down. Sometimes on different days, it tastes just right with the right amount of saltiness. The portion size is not it for what you pay. But some workers give you a little bit more then what you ask so its worth it but others do not and it's completely not worth it. I got my meal w my significant other on August 1st at around 1:45-2ish maybe 2:15, and she ordered 3 salmon n 2 tuna and I ordered 3 tuna and 2 salmon after yet my bowl, which had "3" scoops of tuna had less tuna than the bowl with 2 scoops because the worker when the stock was running low on tuna, scraped the bottom of the container to give me scraps of tuna instead of actual scoops right in front of my face instead of getting more tuna for me. No offense but it's a $20 and other places, some that charge less, give larger portions and have never done this to me. I was honestly liking this place as it was maybe 4-5 time there but will no longer be going there due to this. I think everything is of quality there but I just feel like I got skimped. read more
