    Blaze

Not bad but not the best, imo it was "fast food" ramen. Got the blaze (medium) which I really enjoyed, wasn't too spicy but I wish the brother had more flavor on its own. Spicy garlic Edamame was good. Didn't care for how big the sushi roll was, made it hard to eat but also wasn't bad. & the crispy chicken wasn't crispy, sat too long in the oil so it was alil smushy. Service was good & actual restaurant was clean & cool inside during this summer heat.

After a game of mini golf, friends and I grabbed ramen in the evening. We had to wait for a little while on a Saturday evening to be seated. Service was still kind, immediate once we followed up after waiting perhaps a bit longer than needed. The ambiance inside was well lit, and there were plenty of slurping of noodles. The combination of meals offered are blessed. There is a window to view how the meals are prepared. You may see a flame erupt every now and then. I got a spicy veggie ramen. I really appreciate the variety of veggies used, and the soup was not heavy! It all paired well. God bless you all.

Phew feel like we just got off the plane from Japan lol. Ramen was DDDelishhhh. Thin noodle ramen is not usually our thangggg but this one really good. Pork and chicken cooked well. Oh shoot almost forgot about the gyoza. They were pretty tasty with a good spicy sauce. HOWEVER.......a reason why this place didn't get 5 stars is because the appetizer came out after the entrees. But other than that service good and atmosphere ok (World Cup was on but there was no TV in front of my face)

Went for Tuesday lunch and had a great experience. Prices were reasonable, and service was quick. I got the chicken karaage bowl with spicy aioli on the side--super flavorful and just spicy enough to make my nose run, so I added it sparingly. Also tried the Blaze broth--rich, spicy, and flavorful enough to make my nose water. The tofu had just the right texture, and the creamy broccolini was surprisingly rich and satisfying. Casual vibe, perfect for a quick and tasty meal.

Came here over the weekend for an early dinner. SERVICE - Seating was plentiful, and we were seated quickly. Our waitress was friendly and kind so it great service overall. FOOD Crunchy Roll - This was packed with flavor and tasted fresh. The rolls were huge, so the portion size was generous. Garlic Truffle Ramen - This had so much potential, but it fell flat. It wasn't bad but it just lacking in flavor. Karaage Bowl - Unfortunately, the chicken was drenched in sauce, which made it soggy instead of crispy. Overall, the food was just okay. Nothing stood out enough to make us want to come back.

Overall, this was a good experience, but there was one issue that kept it from being a full five stars. My friend and I both ordered ramen--she got the garlic ramen, and I ordered the Blaze ramen. Unfortunately, her noodles were very hard and stuck together, which really affected her appetite. We did let our server know, and while she mentioned bringing a little more noodles, nothing was ultimately done. At the time, my friend thought it was only a few pieces, but it turned out to be more than that. On the other hand, my Blaze ramen was great. The broth was flavorful and satisfying, and I had no complaints with my noodles. The only minor note on my dish was that the broccolini was a bit on the harder side, but everything else was really good.

Pork bowls and spicy chicken bun. All overly salted.

I've ordered Silverlake Ramen two times. The first time I ordered the chicken Karaage bowl and it was extremely salty. Gave it another shot months later getting pork bowls and a spicy chicken bun. I can confidently say the food here is overly salted, and this comes from someone who doesn't mind salt. The presentation on the food is nice but that's as far as it goes. I won't be back.

Absolutely disgusting! Trust me the ramen that you can make in a cup is 10x better and the service absolutely horrible to top it off. Everything is just slapped together here. I know real ramen I know mid ramen but this here is the worse! Chefs in the back clowning around and servers completely lazy! Yikes never again. I mean damn just a nasty fat piece of pork absurdly and 0 flavor!

This was second time eating at Silverlake. My first experience was pleasant enough and my friend was craving ramen. On a Thursday, we decided to do a little birthday celebration for her. We went up to the counter for assistance. The server asked how many and we were promptly seated and given menus. I had been worried it would be busy and we would have to wait but it wasn't. After looking over the menu, we decided go the appetizer + ramen combo. I got the blaze ramen with fried gyoza and my friend got the shoyu ramen with chicken Karage. We waited for a bit for our food. The server bought me my appetizer and ramen and my friend her ramen. Everything tasted good. After a while, we noticed that the server hadn't bought my friend's appetizer. We had to wait awhile for her to come to the dining area before we were able to say something. She hadn't heard that my friend had wanted the appetizer + ramen combo too so she added that to our check. After a bit, we got it. That was delicious. After we were full, my friend got a to go box for her ramen. According to my friend, the place was alright and she had better. I agree with her, it was fine.

my favorite ramen place right now! I always go for the combo deal with the classic tonkotsu and the chicken karaage. It always tastes so good. I love the broth in the ramen & they genuinely have some of the best chicken karaage. My fiancé and I were so addicted that we were practically coming here once a week at one point. It can get packed sometimes but most of the time we get seated fairly quickly. :)

Came in today because I saw that this spot has a happy hour menu! I opted for a draft beer (Sapporo), the chicken karaage and a large spicy tuna bowl. Everything was delicious! The karaage chicken was a hit for me, it's cooked perfectly and the dipping sauce is so flavorful. The spicy tuna bowl was good. I added soy sauce and siracha to give it a little boost. I noticed at this location they seat you first and you order from the table which I like better compared to the chino location where you have to order at the counter first. It's a small space, trendy vibe and solid service.

    Yummy!

The broth is so flavorful as well and has depth. I feel a lot of broths I've had lacked richness. I also feel like the toppings on the ramen are perfect; a ramen egg, kikurage mushroom, green onion, and the meat! The place itself is kept clean and I notice the workers cleaning off tables and other things as soon as they can. The restrooms are also very clean (big plus for me). That said, the quality of the food made it worth the wait. We'd definitely come back for the ramen!

There was only one staff member present, and unfortunately, the experience did not start with a warm welcome. She simply handed the menu to me and told me to sit wherever I wanted, rather than greeting us properly and showing us to a table or placing the menu on the table. While this may seem like a small detail, first impressions matter and unfortunately, this initial interaction set the tone for the rest of the experience. We chose 'Build your own Ramen' where every item is itemized and priced. I had the Tonkotsu broth with Pork Chashu which - 4/10; some part of noodles still clumpy, broth is decent and not that great, chashu piece is the only good thing, comes in thick chunky cut. While my husband got Kazi which is the dry noodles - 5/10, taste is quite garlicky however it's quite spicy for 'just right' spicy level. One thing I noticed during my visit was that the waitress appeared somewhat disengaged from her work. She had a TV show playing nearby and seemed to spend a noticeable amount of time watching it rather than attending to customers. Unfortunately, the overall level of attentiveness and hospitality did not meet my expectations. The atmosphere initially seemed appealing, with the painted wall décor giving the space a cool and distinctive look. However, the music coming through the speakers was not particularly enjoyable, as the sound system seemed disproportionate to the size of the room.

Then, more often than not you are treated almost as a bother. Due to the service here, I have stopped dining in and opt for calling a phone order to take out. On three separate occasions now, within the last 3 months, they have neglected the phones for orders. They would rather disconnect or turn off the phone completely to avoid any future orders. This comes as a surprise when in about 10 minutes of my first attempted call, I see a staff of four people, yet only one customer. I believe there was no excuse as to why they could not answer the phone. I confirmed they accept take out orders essentially until closing. I have always been mindful to not attempt to order within 30 minutes of them closing. The service here is appalling and truly diminishes their potential for how great the spot could be considering the food they have. Food on the other hand is a total opposite of the service, very flavorful and strong punch of spice at a level 3. My go to is the Wonton ramen with a miso base. Crispy rice is a great starter to share. The garlic ramen is also a great contender if you have a garlic craving. Open layout feels like a mom and pop shop. Overall pretty clean establishment. Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.

The Crunch Onion Albacore was around $18 and it was Ok tasting. I have had fresher albacore before. Their avocado salad $8 was surprisingly tasty so I will definitely get this one again. Apparenlty they charge $3 for a side of white rice. Their Tonkotsu ramen for $16 was OK as well. Not hot ramen but served a bit lukewarm. Not sure what was going on but in a way I can eat it right away but I am used to having it piping hot with steam and a richer flavor. Also got their green tea $3.50 and ice water but the service in refilling the water was slow, especcially with an empty restaurant. Yikes! All in all, it was my first time here. I did see them having a Happy Hour special so I will try that next time.

I have found my favorites and have them most often, but I like to venture into new rolls and I'm never disappointed. The staff is always welcome, friendly and provide amazing service. During the pandemic we ate here once a week to keep supporting local businesses and they knew me by name. This is a hidden gem If you go for a birthday they have flashing neon lights and crazy music that plays that make you feel emboldened and special all at once. Always very clean with multiple tvs that don't mess with the ambience because they keep the volume down.

You could also sit at the sushi bar, if you prefer. And there are a variety of tvs. When we went, it was featuring the world cup; no audio and some tvs had captions. Music was playing at a good level. Menu features lots of options. Some of us were craving sushi and the other half had bowls (beef bulgogi, spicy pork bowl, orange chicken). Our meals were served around the same time and waiters regularly checked on our refills and if we needed anything. At one point, music turned loud and lights flashed, to celebrate someone's bday so something to be aware of that they do. Overall, our dining experience was satisfying. I was a big fan of the salmon carpaccio and the super sexy bowl. The fish tasted fresh and portions are large so you get your moneys worth. My companion did mention that their bulgogi had more onion than meat which was visibly notable. Definitely aim to visit again and will recommend this spot to others.

If you have different tastes, you can order at different locations and sit together in the middle, a classic food hall. The food selection is very good; it's hard to make a selection. We chose the kebab, a favorite of my friend's. It didn't disappoint. She gets the fries and I got a wrap. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and it was cool to see the selection at the rest of the business. Riverside Food Lab validates parking for a certain time so that is also convenient. I stayed a little longer and the final cost wasn't unreasonable.

The cleanliness was also good, and the staff we interacted with were nice and friendly. The only downside was that we came specifically to try one particular restaurant, only to find out it was closed when we arrived. That was definitely disappointing since it was the main reason for our visit. Also, while the staff was friendly, the overall atmosphere felt a little off at times. It seemed like some of the people working there were mad or frustrated, which made the environment feel slightly uncomfortable. Overall, the food was good, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly. I would recommend checking the hours of the specific restaurant you want to visit before heading over.
