Well - great service at the bar. My food came out and I ordered the Halibut Special. I do not know what the burnt little round balls were but I am guessing capers - definitely not peppercorns. The pasta in the dish had a huge coagulated clump of pasta. Needless to say I returned my meal. We waited an exorbitantly long time for our food to finally appear and my significant others Pork Tenderloin Special was nothing to write home about. I looked around and most were eating pizza.... We live around & this is our first time going to Simone's as we always forget it's there. But wow! Not what I was expecting. The inside of the place is beautiful, inviting & smells great. All of the fixtures are pleasing to look at and the wood fire oven make it cozy. I created my own pizza and it was nothing short of delicious. You have to get some gelato. All of their flavors sound so good - we got dark chocolate and salted Carmel and I will definitely be thinking about them for awhile. So good! Small space service is not as fast, you do have to wait as you see your plates sitting on the counter getting cold. My family loves this place! They have a great variety of pizza for the kids, and I always go for the portobello mushroom pizza! Everything we've had, including the salads grilled chicken and seafood along with pasta. Dishes has been outstanding. We go for lunch a lot at work because service is great parking is usually easy if they're not too busy and it's a higher end clientele. So delicious! Finally got over to try Simone's tonight for the first time and WOW! Everything was phenomenal. The decor was brilliant, the wait staff and owner were so friendly, welcoming, and genuine. We started with the bread basket which was perfect for our table of 6 to share. The three selections in the basket were all delicious. We tried the chicken Marsala (holy COW!), braised short ribs over pappardelle, and the linguini with meatballs. The pasta in all three dishes was perfectly cooked and fresh. We loved all three dishes for different reasons. Our son had a standard cheese pizza which he loved too! We ended with the strawberry gelato and an order of the bread pudding. As long time customers of their sister restaurant, "The Press", in St. Augustine we knew that this bread pudding was really great and it did not disappoint. You have to check out this new local gem. After hearing good things, we made our way over to Simone's. Love the look and layout.. though the tables are spaced a little tight. We went with the arancini special app - they were really good. Then we chose to share the Orecchiette pasta and a Margherita pizza (ordered well done) The pasta was ok.. made in a garlic wine sauce with veggies.. it was a little light on sauce & flavor.. but was actually pretty good when we perked it up with some parm cheese and salt. The Margherita pizza stole the show.. absolute perfection. The rest of the menu looked interesting .. plenty of things I'd like to go back and try ... But .. My family was very excited for this place to open up since we've lived in Italy and haven't yet found a place that perfectly hits the spot with Italian cuisine, and sadly I can say we still haven't found it. We ordered a few pizzas, they were decent but wasn't something I would go back for being there's better, closer by. I understand it's hard to work a brick oven, but to have the bottoms almost completely burnt was unacceptable. Unfortunately, the pizza was probably the best food we ordered from here. Aside from the Pizza we had their small antipasto plate, and caesar salad. The antipasto had old tomatoes that were wilting, the rest of the ingredients were drenched in oil to the point we had to pat it dry with paper towels before eating. For the caesar salad, it was almost as if they forgot to add the dressing. Mainly lettuce and, anchovies, and the tiniest amount of bad dressing. Super disappointed and will most likely not be returning. Such a bummer! read more

We have eaten at Simone's a few times this past week and found it to be an enjoyable and delicious experience. The food, first of all, is simply delicious. We had their Chicken Marsala (theirs is called something different), their linguini with meatballs, their Lasagna, and a pizza. Everything was exquisite. The food was prepared fresh and came quickly. We also had excellent service from the staff. Everyone is very attentive. I'd suggest trough not going right at 5 as once the first crowd goes in and fills the tables, it will be 40 minutes or so before tables begin to open up. We will be back again and again! read more

What a great place! Had dinner here with my parents on a Thursday night and it was PACKED. Arrived around 6:30 or so and faced a 15' wait for a party of 3 (so factor that wait time into your dinner plans... and I'm not sure if they have a call-ahead or reservation option). Very nice bar area and a decent amount of seating. There are a few seats outside, a few tables, under umbrellas. Obviously rain and/or Florida heat may dissuade their use! The wood-fired kitchen is right out on the main floor, towards the back of the restaurant, so the smell of the food when you walk in the door hits you in the face (in a good way!). When we visited there were no COVID restrictions so the restaurant was packed - but it was very loud. Not so loud that you had to yell at others in your party, but it was definitely the "right kind" of loud... people enjoying the hospitality, the food, and the company. About the only thing that went wrong was we received our appetizer the same time we received our dinners - but since we only ordered the bread basket as an app, it wasn't a huge deal. I think this was purely an oversight/mistake due to how busy it was. Food was outstanding. I had the pollo Marsala and my father had some sort of meatball dinner that he claimed was great. The portion sizes were very big, so come on an empty stomach. I didn't pay too much attention to the wine list, but there were plenty of patrons drinking reds around us, and they seemed happy. Beer selection - my game - was pretty good. Some local brews, some larger ones. Bottom line - great place. Great food, but get there early and/or call ahead! What a pleasant surprise. Just moved to the area from Jersey where there is a good Italian Restaurant on almost every corner and at this price point Simone can hold their own with any of them. You have to get the bread basket to start. It is the only decent bread I have had since coming here. It is served with an Olive Oil and Garlic dip. The Simones salad was delicious. The pasta is homemade and cooked Al dente as it should be. My wife had the pesto chicken and it was excellent as well. This restaurant is what an Italian restaurant should be. I've been to Simone's on a number of occasions for dinner. I'll start with the service because it's simple. Every single time the service has been wonderful. Yes the menu is unfortunate with the font and the background making it very difficult to read, but it's all about the food. Which talking about the food is amazing! I share the bread basket and the salad Della Simone with my partner and I use the term share generously. The dressing on the salad is delicious and all the vegetables are super fresh. I love the addition of roasted cauliflower. I always get the orecchiette dal giardino which is literally a pasta garden. The vegetables seem seasonal but are always wonderful and my partner raves about the pizza specials. I can't recommend this restaurant more. It's worth the drive and or wait! read more
