We were told to arrive at 5:30 for an X-ray and check in for a 6:00 MRI. The checkin and X-ray were done promptly and we were placed in a waiting area for the MRI. At 6:10 an employee told us they were running behind and the MRI previously scheduled for 6:00 would now be pushed back to 7:00. It is now 7:45 and we are still waiting to be seen. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was in the waiting area for an hour and a half waiting to get called back for my ultrasound. I had only had 2 previous ultrasounds before my ultrasound at SimonMed. It was by far the worst ultrasound I have ever had. I was so disappointed. I couldn't see the screen the entire time, & the tech didn't explain anything onscreen the entire ultrasound. She refused to do 3D imaging, which i've never had happen before. I was looking forward to seeing my baby & was extremely disappointed by the service & by the ultrasound tech. read more

First, they do not make appointments for X-Rays. X-Rays are done on a first come, first served basis. It is best to go there early in the morning to avoid the wait time getting longer and longer due to them falling behind, it happens, they get behind. I only had to wait about 30 minutes before I was taken back and was out in about 20 minutes. read more

I was told to come 30 minutes early for check in. I was notified, when I showed up on time, that I wouldn't be seen until 8:15. I got in at 9:15pm and did t get out until 9:50pm I have ALWAYS had a long wait at this location, but this time it was so inconsiderate not to call ahead and let me know they were running over an hour late that I had to complain. Because my appointment was so late at night, my Insurance office was closed to verify coverage the front desk tried to collect the full payment for my MRI, it was fully covered. This is the worst. I have rescheduled my appointment 3 times now and they keep canceling on me. The last time I showed up at 830 in the morning and they told me their machine was broken. Which is fine---but they could have called. I fasted, my husband took the day off from work to stay home with my kids. The secretary said, sorry, and didn't even look up from her computer. I can't get through to anyone on the phone to reschedule AGAIN and the online scheduling doesn't have an option for the rest I need. This has been an absolute nightmare. Called my last name they took someone else who's last name doesn't sound remotely like mine. Honestly, take a HUGE dose of patience with you when you deal with this company. While they did get the job done in the end, it wasn't without constant prodding and babysitting to get it done. They need staff with intelligence (especially phone staff). Appointments are worthless, they are never on time. I had an 8:30 a.m. appointment and the employees didn't even start showing up until 8:30 - ridiculous! Of course they require that you come 15 minutes early as well, to sit and wait. Seriously, this could be a great company if they learned to run it better! And had xrays on a Tuesday and they still were not to doctor the following Monday so I had to babysit more to get that done. They made me wait 5 hours for a scan when they knew I had been fasting and I have symptomatic hypoglycemia. No food and no water for hours.... I should call the fire department as I am sure codes are being broken by having people gather in line to wait for check-in. I had a 1pm check-in with a 1:30 appointment. It is now 1:55 & I just sat down. This is beyond madness. Why schedule so many people at the same time, was obviously what I asked."We have many different imaging machines..." It is a shame that my experience dealing with the front office staff, financial services, and billing completely take away from the amazing nurse and technicians. They were amazing, kind, and very communicative about what I would experience during my MRI and keeping me comfortable. My Bad review come from doing little research into my coverage and what I was told to pay at the time of service. I called my insurance when I got home to verify what I paid was correct and come to find out I was over charged $55 and the person who verified my coverage was not looking at the right information. After 30 minutes on the phone with front office (not their problem?), Financial services (not their problem?), Billing ( not their problem?), and finally getting someone in financial services to at least verify my coverage again and then she understood what I was saying ( her comment was "I should have known and what did I want her to about it?) Long story short no ETA on getting my money back and I will just have to wait until billing processes it and maybe I will get my money back. so I guess patients should just know what all the rules are at every given visit before they even think about having a procedure done. To expect to be treated like a human and even a apology at the time would have been nice. Like hey we messed up? anyway that my rant. read more

SimonMed Imaging clearly has lack of leadership/management issues. It starts when you walk in the door. You are made to feel like this will be a "herding cattle" experience. I walked up to the counter with a smile and said hi, and was greeted with, "name?" I had to say back, "what the magic word?". I did get back a partial grin and she said, "please". No welcome, no smile, just blank. Either overworked, under paid, undertrained, or just doesn't care. Once in a gown, I was seated in a TINY holding area where other patients in gowns are also uncomcomfortably waiting. We are literally crammed into a space that is 4' X 8' including chairs ( I stepped it off). Very close quarters to be sitting in a gown. Imagine if you are there for a procedure that requires you to be fully nude under your gown. Clearly there is nobody at SimonMed putting themselves in the position of the patient. They are only there to funnel as many bodies as they can throught their doors. There was a TV in that "holding pen", but nobody had bothered to turn it on. When I tried it was some sort of app TV (Roku?) that I never did get to work. So I sat looked around at the facility, which is absolutely neglected. Walls are all marred and dirty, baseboards are filthy, floors are dirty, any art that is actually on a wall looks like someone pulled it out of their grandparents garage to cover some wall space. The actual treatment room is the same. Walls, floors, and equipment is horrible. There was an old gross swiffer propped up behind the door that also looked filthy. My procedure required me to be on my stomach, and for the 15 minutes I laid there, I counted 7 human hairs on the equipment I was in. I actually mentioned to the tech they needed to pay some attention to the facility as the walls and floors looked filthy. Her reply was that they have equipment that bumps into the walls. Ya, I know...every medical facility has the same situations, but most invest money in cleanliness, maintenance, and making sure they project an image worthy of a medical practice. The tech's demeanor was the same as the receptionist. No smile, no how are you doing, just instructions. She actually looked like she hated being there. They gave me headphones, which I also assumed were likely as disgusting as the facility. And what is so hard about putting some music in your headphones? I have had other imaging facilities provide music through my headphones for YEARS! And the tech can talk to you through your headphones. Not SimonMed. Again, nobody is looking into the patient experience. They are very busy so I'm sure money is not the issue. It's clearly greed and again, lack of leadership/management. I will be suggesting that my referring sergeon NEVER recommend SimonMed. SMILE is a much more professional organization. Clean, friendly, professional, and they don't take a week to get your imaging results sent to your Doctor. 1 day turnaround versus the week SimonMed quoted me. read more

They called me this am at 0800 and told me that I was scheduled to have a chest X-ray and could just "walk in" and wouldn't have to make an appointment. I thought "Wow that's awesome! Open on a Saturday and I could just walk in". So I got dressed and got there at 0835. I saw people come in 45 minutes after I had been there and being called back. NOTHING ticks me off more, than being FIRST to be somewhere and seeing other people arriving after me being served first (May it be a restaurant or dr office) after an hour and 5 minutes of waiting, I approached the front desk and asked how many more people were ahead of me, the girl told me verbatim "you are next to be called". With in 20 MORE minutes 5 more people were called back (one had JUST walked in, filled out paperwork) That was it for me. I walked out. It was then 1035...Unfortunately I will have to call to SCHEDULE AN APPT this time! So when they tell u, "you can jus walk in" you can!!! But you'll be waiting for HOURS!! read more

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I have always had great service at Simonmed. Had an MRI yesterday (Sunday), and my appt was at 2:30, and I was 40 minutes early. Check-in was a breeze, and the tech took me back, performed the MRI and I was out the door at 2:42. I was at the Mesa (Greenfield) location, but the experience was almost the same at another location in Gilbert. My husband has also used the Gilbert location a few times and always had great service. I was referred from my chiropractor to Simon Med for my MRI. They were supposed to call me when they received the order. They did not call and I had to call them 3 days later. I made my appointment and showed up on time. They were 1.5 hrs behind at 5:00pm so while I was standing in line minutes before me appointment they called to tell me they were running late and asked me to show up later. Since it was too late for that I chose to come back the next day. Overall staff was friendly and helpful but they need to work their scheduling. read more

I have been coming to this location for all of my imaging for the last 10 years. I have tried to be patient and understanding with Covid19 but it's seriously soooo bad! They are ok with their patient's waiting in line standing outside in the sun in 110 degree weather for over 30 minutes during the painfully slow check in process. They are reactive rather than proactive. Today, after arriving early for my appointment and waiting for 30 minutes outside to get checked in, I was asked to fill out paperwork which I did and handed back. Apparently she just put the paperwork down and let for lunch. I watched as people that came in way after I did started going back before me so I asked the office manager if my paperwork was put in the proper place for the technicians to know I was ready for my exam. Had my Mammo appt there a few weeks ago on a Saturday. They were prompt on my appointment time and the technician was very friendly and explained everything as she went along. Fast results from them to my Dr (2 days later results were in my Dr's hands). The place was very clean and inviting. Will continue to use them. read more

Save your time. Without a doubt the most incompetent scheduling I have dealt with in this town. Had an Ultrasound appointment for my teenage daughter. Was told a time and place. Location chosen due to its close proximity to my residence. 1 hour before appt time my daughter called to confirm. She was told, "oh the tech went home sick, you have to reschedule" No notification, no nothing. Already left work so the time was already wasted. Ok I get it, people get sick so it may have been unavoidable. Rescheduled for the following Tuesday. Again 2 hours before appt my daughter calls again. This time she is told, "oh you were rescheduled for another location" Again no phone call no notification. So I called and asked and was told, I don't know. I don't know. Always I don't know and blaming it on another location. Regardless of who is responsible or what location, it is obvious the incompetence runs company wide at all locations. Must be pretty bad is they get a horrible review and we haven't even entered the facility yet. Again I adjust my schedule to leave early but now due to the change I have to miss even more time all because someone is ignorant, inconsiderate and untrained. I would give zero stars if I could. My college aged daughter was charged the total amount for services TWICE. I called my insurance company who confirmed they paid the first service and we are covered at 100%. I then called Simon med billing who said one refund was issued already and she'll get refunded for the latest service. They said it's "customary" to charge for services up front and then issue refunds. I find that ridiculous and have not experienced that before. Usually the service is run through insurance first. Are they not preauthorizing insurance or are they taking advantage of patients. I'm calling my insurance back to see if this practice is "customary." read more

My grandma came in to get an MRI done and was NOT satisfied with her care. She said a woman named Anna was the one helping her and she was absolutely rude and not helpful, not just to her but she could tell her attitude towards other staff was just not pleasant. I don't understand why a facility would hire someone to help people, but that person is negative and not even willing to go over questions about her condition with her. Why? Why would you hire someone so defiantly negative? She clearly did not want to be there and did not want to do her job. My grandma said she thinks there was a student or someone training in there with Anna and that Anna was VERY rude and unprofessional to them. If you are going to get an MRI don't here and you want someone who is positive and willing to actually help you, I would suggest you request anyone but her. Went here today for my yearly mammo. There were 2 girls at the front desk, one was helping a lady and there were 3 of us in line, I was first in the line. The other girl was busy on her computer, did not look up and acknowledge me, so after standing there for 5 minutes I asked her was she doing check in also---she raised her hand and said I'll be with you soon. kind of rudely. no smile. then when she was finished with whatever she was doing----she looked at me and said "yes?". Her name was Stephanie Z. She needs to learn how to greet people. I have encountered this rudeness at the front desk at this facility every time I go. Think I will have to find a new facilitiy. The mammo girl in the back was wonderful. Its always that front desk. No smile, no personality, no facial expressions. I had been referred to the Queen Creek location in the beginning of my pregnancy for an ultrasound since my insurance wouldn't allow the Dr's office to perform it, and I had to go 3 times and they still were unable to get a full complete ultrasound that was to the doctors satisfaction. (they failed to get important information) so I ended up going to a completely different place and they got it all done 1 shot. Now I have to go back for a growth ultrasound and I called to make an appointment and was informed they would not be able to accommodate me and my 3 kids if I brought them! Seriously!! The lady was so rude about it, almost laughing when I told her I would have them with me, because I don't have a babysitter during the day. My apologies for not getting the lady's name that checked us in. We were an hour early today for our appointment but at the right location, 1/2 isnt so bad. She greeted us with a wonderful smile and was very pleasant. She made eye contact and made the visit more enjoyable. I have been trying to schedule a breast MRI for over four months. The first time I tried I asked for an open MRI I was told their baywood location had one. The next day they called back that baywood did not have one and they rescheduled me to come in on a different day that did not work for me. This was after waiting on hold for over 45 mins. When I called back to reschedule a few weeks later I waited on hold again for over 20 mins to be told the computers were down?! I called back a few weeks after that. I only waited on hold for 6 mins and was able to make an appt finally! I was also told the test needed to be 10-14 days after my period and no caffeine for 24 hours before the test! The person I scheduled with the first time NEVER told me that! So I skip my coffee come in this morning and am taken right back. The breast MRI is about 20 mins and if you are claustrophobic very nerve wracking. I got about 20 mins into the test ( I was so happy I was almost done and this was almost all behind me) when the tech comes in and tells me the machine is broken!!!!!! None of the images they have are useable!! After fighting back tears I go for my mammogram. The tech can't find my name and I wait for about 15 mins. Finally I get in there. Now I will say that she was obviously new and that's ok, people have to learn. But she did keep repeatedly saying "Jesus" every time she got frustrated. I've been here for mammograms in the past and thought it might have changed. All the previous reviews have been spot on accurate! Last week I took my husband there for an X-ray. ( his dr uses simon) and wow, things have not changed. Don't they read these reviews? I got the same robot at the front who says she'll help me when she's done typing. Ok , then Lindsay Lohan was training a newbie who was nice but they were just plain strange for a medical front desk. Acted more like fast food workers. The place was crowded and not welcoming. Once you get past the horrible front desk, the techs and every single staff member in the back was polite, helpful, reassuring and professional. This is where we go for scary diagnostics and it should be staffed with more calm, professional front desk people. read more

I arrived at the clinic a little before 8am (right as they opened) as a walk in and it was already packed. Waited over 2 hours to get a chest X-ray. Don't just come when they open, get here earlier if you want to get in and out faster. And when they tell you the wait time's an hour, prepare for 2+. read more

The initial office experience is fine, not very long waits. However, I am writing this review to warn others. My husband and I went there on two separate occasions and the front office said that we had to pay a deductible. My husband paid $600 and I paid $350. We found out months later that our insurance covered our deductibles. I attempted to contact simon med on several occasions to get our money back. First, it is tough to talk to a live person in the billing department. Once I did reach a "live person", she said that they would investigate it and if we were owed a refund, we would get it. Two months later, I called back with our insurance representative and she took over for me, demanding they return our money. They said that they would put it back on our credit card. Still a month later, no refunds on our cc. So I called again and spoke to another person, and she said she would refund the amount now, and that there was no detailed notes that we had called in previously. Finally, we got our refund back only a few days later after this last call. They were NOT planning on paying us back. Very poor service! read more

After checking in here today, I read the reviews and I'm really surprised. The nurses at Simon Med were very polite & prompt with getting my son & I in. We were a walk in also. And within 30 minutes we were finished! We got the Xray results same day as well. I'm thinking they have really weeded out the problem nurses, and brought in some new nurses since all of the bad reviews. If not, then they've stepped up their game quite a bit.
