I went to Simon Med for an extremely expensive scanning procedure that was not covered by my insurance. It was so expensive, I told them I couldn't afford it and began to leave. That's when they told me they could put me on an interest-free payment plan. So, we set up a payment plan where the agreed-upon amount would be automatically charged to my credit card until paid in full. But after about only 4 months they stopped charging my card and sent me a bill for the entire amount. I contacted the billing department, and they insisted I had broken the agreement, which I had not, and refused to reinstate our original arrangement and then sent me threatening letters demanding payment in full, or it would be turned over to a debt collection company. I will never use Simon Med again. read more

Does not check insurance coverage until appointment time which delays the process. Even saw them ask people to reschedule because they couldn't get it cleared same day, even though appointments were scheduled weeks prior. Say waits are short but take over 45 minutes to see patients. When appointments are scheduled this is an unacceptable wait time. read more

I was a bit unsure how this appointment was going to go based on my initial calls to this location for scheduling, but overall the actual appointment and lab experience the day-of went very smoothly. My doctor had ordered a scan (flagged urgent) for me, and after a couple of days of not hearing back from SimonMed, I called in to schedule the appointment myself. My doctor had forwarded the request to me, so I had my insurance authorization and all the lab details on hand. The individual I spoke to said they hadn't received my order yet and that they would have to handle it in the order of their fax queue and would call me to schedule once they process it. That was a bummer, but obviously very fair. I called in the next day, once again with my order information, and they tell me they still haven't received an order. I assured her there was an order and that I had a copy of it and insurance authorization, and that my doctor had faxed in the order again. She permitted me to schedule an appointment, but it was a few days out. She advised this was due to my insurance company's preferences so I just schedule it. I was confused about the insurance comment, since I told her I had authorization already, and called my company insurance contact and was told there was no reason for them to delay scheduling me since my insurance approved it. I called back and told them this again and was able to get scheduled a day earlier. I just had my actual appointment, and it was a super solid experience. There was no line to get checked in, and the lab technician came in and brought me my special iodine drink for my scan, and told me when she'd be back. Her estimate was right on time, and she took me back and asked about my reasons for the scan, etc. She was very comforting and helpful and funny, and took her time explaining the process to me and making sure I was comfortable. The rest of the process went incredibly smoothly and I was really happy with the overall experience at this location. The scheduling component was a bit frustrating, but I understand that this sort of paperwork passes through multiple hands at various companies and that there can be hitches, which is why I tried to be proactive about talking to my insurance and my doctor and would follow-up with SimonMed after getting more details. All in all, a good experience. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I took my son to get X-rays. He's 4 and due to traumatic experiences with doctors/hospitals he has high anxiety. Not a special needs kid but terrified of doctors. I explain the whole reason why my son does not want to come and why he's scared. He's not just acting out he's not just bad. And all the one even says is "that must of been scary but we do have more patients to see". Not a single ounce of human compassion, or hey let's try to help. Just straight disgust so they could move on to the next one. Do not take your children here, this is not the place. read more

Absolutely WORST COMPANY EVER!!! If you have any other option, take it and RUN from this company. Their scheduling process is a nightmare, they cancel your appt. with no notification, run you around on the phone for hours, hang up on you while being "transferred", and quote then charge different prices. Do not go to Simon med centers unless you are totally mobile and get on off tables, stand without difficulty because you will not get ANY assistance from their employees. Seems strange that no matter what office you go to they have a back injury that prevents them from even giving you a hand to grab on to for a second I have had experiences in at least 4 different offices 1 of which I had back MRI and needed assistance in turning on the table so I could get off. She stood at the door and urged me to hurry it up by the time I got off the table a barely could walk I was in such pain but I did because I was so angry I just wanted out AGAIN if you have any mobility issues go some where else !!! This has got to be the WORST place I've ever been, medically speaking, and that says A LOT. I stood in line for a 1/2 hour to register at the front desk, even though I had already checked in online. Their online system is a total joke. There were four people "working" at the front desk while about 10 people were waiting in line to check in. Only one person was checking people in. The others were "training", Excuse me, you can't train at another time? The people were rude and unresponsive. DON'T GO TO THIS AWFUL PLACE!!! This review is directed at their office in Tempe but because it isn't listed in either Yelp or Simon-Med's own website this site is picked at random. In short, it doesn't deserve even one star. After the initial request for an appointment I got no less than 4 changes of opinion from their staff. First, my insurance was no good. Then it was, then I got a letter saying it wasn't and finally it was. This took almost one month of time and meanwhile the MRI I had been waiting for was delayed. Second: I requested an open MRI (the kind where they do not put you inside a tube). After a very long wait they assured me the Tempe location was suitable. The day before my appointment I tried calling their office to find out if everything was OK but after an hour waiting I gave up. Third: I arrive at their office and was told that my appointment was actually the following week. Fourth: The Tempe office does not do open MRI's. I had specifically requested an open MRI multiple times. Fifth: They asked me multiple questions about my MRI in medical terminology. I am not a doctor, I am a patient and don't speak medicine! I asked them if they had my order from my physician and they said they did but apparently don't use it. I walked out. I will, under no circumstances, do business with Simon-Med again. read more

This is private healthcare?! I witnessed a woman who was disabled and barely able to walk told NO when she asked someone to help her with the gown. Then she urinated herself on the X-ray table, I was immediately asked to come in when she left. They flipped the pillow over and threw off the sheet, not even offering to put a fresh one on. I'm currently sitting at this location and while they told me it would be a 30 min wait it is now another 30 minutes because she did not take the time to put me in the schedule which is extremely frustrating. I get it, people have appointments, and I did not, but I should have been put into the schedule in a timely manner. Old lady with glasses at the front desk - you are slow and probably should not work the front desk. And your personality is less than stellar. So sad for you and also your front office staff. Idiots. I was only here for an X-Ray which meant I didn't need any appointment or anything. Came in, did very light paperwork, and waited about 10 minutes (it was moderately busy) before being taken to the machine for the scans and being given the disc and written report. The staff was nice, understanding of my situation, and even helped figure out my insurance stuff when I had forgotten my card. Simple and quick, which has been my experience at multiple locations from this group. read more

I was really nervous about this MRI--and the scheduling process w/ SimonMed's central scheduling office did not inspire confidence. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing, or actually care. Then I came on here to read reviews of this Mesa Desert location, and my heart sank. But, my experience at this location, with their front office and the techs, was WONDERFUL. They put me at ease, listened to my needs, and were very accommodating. (I wish I remembered their names! The gal who set me up was awesome and an immediate advocate for me, and the tech who performed the MRI was very calming.) While I do think in general (at least in my experience) SimonMed corporate would do well to take their front office staff and the schedulers through some customer/patient care training--the folks at this location were great. read more

I hurt my shoulder a few weeks ago. The rotator cuff. The doc wasn't sure if I had torn it or just made it mad... it felt better a week later, but then someone called from the radiology place, and I thought, "maybe just have it scanned. Then we'll be certain it's not torn." So yesterday, I go. First, I waited in a que OUTSIDE (it's 113') for 20 minutes.. 6' apart, just to get in the door. Once inside, I was called up to check-in. Given some papers to fill out, and then stood by a wall to wait. The waiting area was 'full' chairs spaced and occupied. I looked to my right, and could see into the back area. The door was propped open! There were people being taken out of their 'rooms' wearing hospital gowns, carrying their folded clothes and shoes!! Where's the privacy??! I told the tech coming to call someone back, "you really should close this door and give your patients some privacy." Her surprised response... "they don't want us touching the door." But they were touching the doors to the changing rooms just fine!!? Then I overheard a guy being checked in.. and told it would be an hour before he was taken back. ??!! That was it. As soon as my check-in person was open I went up and said, "I'm not doing this. You're obviously over scheduled. You're not offering your patients any privacy... "we have to keep it open," "no, you don't. You can wear gloves, and wipe it down EVERY SINGLE TIME if need be. My appointment that you set, was at 4:45... and now you're an hour behind.. give me my papers.. this isn't happening." Can we reschedule? Nope.. not here. And I left. Talk about a $$$ hungry industry after insurance payments! Seriously too many people living here. Healthcare more interested in being paid, than being helpful/respectful. They've become desensitized. Accidents happen, but having to go to an independent radiologist to get an X-ray or MRI? Somethings wrong with that set up! Totally up to you to use this company... just be aware that you'll be treated like cattle being processed... read more

I'm posting this to warn other people. I checked in and had to wait almost 2 hours for my appointment. The front desk tried to accuse me of losing my own chart. They never gave me paperwork. I was there from 10:50am until 2pm. I had to call out of work for additional time. The techs couldn't find any abnormalities and had me in there for an hour. The doctor came in, watched, and then said "well we can't see anything, but we think you should get an MRI anyways and a follow-up (the 3rd time mind you). Basically they were like oh that's just lymph nodes, but you should do an MRI. You shouldn't try to get pregnant just in case of radiation from MRI. Mind you I'm undergoing treatment to become pregnant. It's not like I can stop mid process for their just in case/cya liability. I felt bad for the techs. This facility is run horribly and overall it felt like a cash grab for insurance. read more

If I could just review the technicians, I would give them a 4.5. However, the facility and front desk individuals brings this rating down, way down. I had a 9am appointment, got there at 8:55. There was only one gal at the front desk...who had to "finish" what she was entering before she could check me in. Then I sat in the waiting room for 50 minutes. Once I was called back, I sat another 20+ minutes shivering because it was meat-locker cold. The gal that checked me out, was borderline rude. However, the technician was fabulous and very compassionate. Though this site is so close to home and I like the technicians, I will not be going back. SimonMed customer service is the worst. Our first bad experience was at the Gilbert office but unfortunately this is where our surgeon does business. The surgeon ordered a follow up MRI And a bone Density test to be done SimonMed's scheduling department called us and knowing what the script said sent us to this office. After seating for 2.5 hours my wife was told that they didn't have the proper machine to do the MRI and that we had to reschedule to a another office. They couldn't do the bone density test because she took a calcium pill prior but was NEVER told not to take before the test. If you have other choices use them instead of SimonMed. read more

Reckless and dangerous corporate policies. X-rays are walk in, per the recorded message. Walked in, was told that we needed an appointment. When we told them that the recorded message said "walk in", they said, "Yes, that's true, just not for now, during the , Corona crisis." Ok, then change the message. "No , because that's still true, you simply need an appointment." So, you knowingly leave false instructions for sheltering patients to lure them out of safe environments so you can expose them to OTHER patients, only to make an appointment that COULD have been done on the phone in the first place. That requires them to return later and expose themselves and others to possible infection because you are too (busy, unconcerned, cheap, understaffed, ignorant - pick one) to change the message or have a staff member schedule an appointment. Instead, you choose Doublespeak. Black is White, up is down, left is right and we don't make appointments, please walk in so we can make you an appointment which you DON'T need because this is walk in. Reckless and dangerous. The Mexican lady at front desk receptionist needs to better job cant understand what so hard for them to read the doctor that referred me to them and on top of that they send the test results to wrong doctor, They ask me for the doctor address you should be look up that information when you screw up in the first place. read more

This place is horrible. During this Pandemic there was at least 20 people in the front area not enough room to even social distance. People were not wearing masks and coughing with no one working here saying anything. This is A medical place and should be limiting how many people are here. I have just returned from Simon Medical Imaging. Julie T. the Nuclear Imagine Tech carried out the procedure efficiently and cheerfully. Since the procedure lasted for close to ane hour,I asked Julie to let me how much time elapsed every 15 minutes. Julie remembered my request and she let me know that 15 elapsed during the test. I left the faciliy very impressed with the service she provided and with her orifrssional demeanor0. Julie T is a model employee and Simon Imagine is fortunate to have her as a member if their team at the Dobson location. read more

Arrived at 1pm for a 130 appt. Got seen at 152pm, so a little behind but not bad considering the crowd of people. Staff was friendly. The entire time we were there a guy at the front desk was helping a lady out with some issues with her billing. She was on the phone w someone outside and the guy continuously went outside to chat w her. Not sure if she was happy, but his service was A+ from what I saw and heard. read more

The online portal is not good for scheduling. The choices on the portal didn't fit with what my doctor ordered. Ended up calling and waiting a long time to finally get help with making the appointment Only to find out it was a different day than what they told me. Checking in was very slow. There were way too many people in the office! not enough chairs for people to sit either. It took a long wait time to get my appointment completed. Their protocol for the services is questionable as I saw one woman enter the building and stand in line for about 5 minutes to check in, only to get called back before she ever checked in.... all the while I was waiting over an hour after I checked in. Zero rating. My appointment was at 1:00 and I did not get out until 4:45! First it took them over 45 minutes to verify what my out of pocket cost would be. They should have done that the day before. The girls at the front desk are rude and are only interested in talking to each other instead of waiting on the customers. There are no lockers or bags for our your belongings, so you have to cart your clothes around while wearing a gown. In the mammogram waiting room there were 5 other women that had all been waiting a long time for their appointment as well. There is only one machine and one tech who was rude and we had to listen to her complain all afternoon on how the schedulers double book appointments and she hasn't had lunch yet! I could hear her talk rudely to each one as their turn came up. The exam room door is paper thin and you can hear everyone's business. My turn finally came up at 3:30 and then she asked me for my previous mammogram results! When I scheduled my exam they never told me to bring them. So then I had to wait another hour while they tracked them down. I was the last one to get my exam done at 4:30 for a 1:00 appointment. I always to go EVDI and am in and out of there in a half hour. Don't know why my doctor chose SimonMed this time, but I will never go there again. All they are interested in is money and cramming as many appointments in one day as possible. read more

I made an appointment and took time off work to get my follow up mammogram done because they found a lump in my breast on my last visit, so because of the incompetent staff that didn't make the correct appointment for my diagnostic follow up, I was turned away! Yes.... TURNED AWAY and I can't take time again to go in for another six months. I will never go back to any one of theses locations, they obviously could care less. read more

This was a customer service nightmare. I arrived at 4:15 when I was supposed to check in at 4:30. I figured I might get a jump on things. They did not call me back (after I said something) until after 5:30. I ended up leaving there around 6:45. The front desk never informed me that they were running behind (they only had one MRI tech working at an imaging center). When I was brought back, the instructions were vague. Also the MRI tech had no idea what part they were supposed to image. This was unprofessional at best. They offered nothing to make me feel better about the situation. I will most definitely look for another imaging center if ever needed in the future. read more

Just tried to make an appointment with SimonMed. On hold 25 minutes so I hung up and tried online scheduling. Competed the information online and then the screen said 45 seconds for verification of insurance and I have United Healthcare. Waited 30 minutes for the verification online but gave up. Called back and left my phone on hold with scheduling another 20 minutes and hung up. Good luck with this company, they are not efficient or helpful. read more

I just came back from an appointment at SimonMed. When I walked in early, there were 12 people in line waiting to check in. The waiting room was packed. There was no way I was waiting in that mess during a pandemic. I cancelled my appointment and walked out. How can a medical facility treat its customers like this. I will never go back. read more

I had an appointment set for check in at 10:15 and appointment at 10:30am. I checked in did paperwork and watched at least 6 other clients come in and called back to have their test done probably 35 minutes before I was called. I did check with the front seat to see if I had been forgotten and magically I was called back . I arrived to the facility 9:55 AM and left at 11:40aM. Poor scheduling and front desk management. I have had similar tests done at their competitor and will continue to go there regardless of the Dr. choice of where to go. Also when I was in testing area I felt that everyone was rushing and I could not hear the instructions when I was in MIR machine due to ear protection which was great but I was given instructions and I could not hear them. read more
