    Desmechada sandwich

Small restaurant with seating for about 10-12 people. Parking is in back of the restaurant. The food here is very good. The reason for 4 stars is just because the sandwiches and hot dogs are little small. High school age kids would probably need to order two things. They have plenty of drink options (see photos). They have interesting combinations for their dogs and good sauces. If you do not mind the slightly small size this place is 5 stars. They also have vegan, vegetarian options for their dogs, sandwiches, and donuts. People are very friendly.

Oh yeah! Delicious!! Back again and it's amazing as always. Hospitality is welcome here. Delicious beef / vegan / pork options with a soft bun that wraps and envelops like an affectionate long lost hug. I miss and adore this place dearly! And after finally returning back, it's as charming and eloquent as ever. The fries are delicious! I recommend the Tokyo Madness (it's creative and unique) and the Cowboy, Hawaiian, etc. everything is great :) Empanadas are a must try as well. Best Colombian hot dogs in the State! Edit: He took care of our Puppy, Choco! Giving us water and a bowl. Thanks. Thank you Mr. Simon!

My expectations of a "hot dog place" include it not being fancy, the dogs being tasty, the buns being fresh ... and everything served hot and fresh. This place lives up to my expectations. You can get beer here if that's your thing, too. I ordered the Paisita dog with fries and a drink and my wife and son placed their orders (dogs, fries, cheese and chili in various combinations). The lady at the counter was very nice and said she'd bring our orders to the table. To be fair, I like cole slaw and onions... and lots of other things, too. My big beef hot dog came in a fresh bun with just the right amount of toppings (some places go way overboard and others it is hard to tell the difference between a chili dog and a cheese dog). My dog had a bit of crunch and sour from the slaw and a different crunch from the crushed chips. I didn't really taste the pineapple -- I think it got lost in the slaw, but may have contributed some sweetness. You can see that mine wasn't as messy with the sauces as the menu photo (thank goodness!) ... but this dog was a good boy. They have vegan options, including vegan "bacon bits" or chili for some of the creations. Overall, pretty simple and tasty. I'd go back and think I'd have to get the Colombian dog next: pineapple, cheese, sauce and crushed chips :D

I love having a place to stop and get a customized vegan hot dog, it's very casual and a nice place to meet up with friends. The California dog is pretty spot on as a replacement and the buns are so fluffy! However, toppings were a little underwhelming and nothing I'd necessarily be crazing. I'll happily stop by again when in the mood for an old fashioned hot dog! Side note: they offer vegan donuts from a local shop! They had cookie dough and sugar. There are other non-vegan options as well. Staff was very friendly and welcoming!

I am a huge fan of Simon's. I used to work across the way at Galleria and typically get the Columbian. Today I tried the maduritos and Hawaiian. Sooo good! Never disappointed.

Tokyo Madness (teriyaki onions, wasabi mayo, and nori) with a California vegan dog.

The Yelp Community named "Top 100 Places to Eat in 2021" and do you know where Simon's Hot Dog was on the list? IN THE TOP FIVE, NUMBER FIVE! Fifty states, one hundred spots, and Simon's Hot Dog got the fifth spot! Wow! With such bragging rights under their belt, my gal pal Priscila A. and I had to pay them a visit! We got three hot dogs, a vegan mac & cheese, and some fries to split between us and whoa, we were so painfully full afterwards. We had the Tokyo Madness (teriyaki onions, wasabi mayo, and nori) with a California vegan dog, the Sonoran Cousin (refried beans, onions, mustard, Simon's Sauce, bacon bites, and jalapeños) with a Colombian chorizo dog, and the Colombian (Their signature dog - pineapple, mozzarella cheese, Simon's Sauce, and crushed potato chips) with the beef dog. Everything was legit good and there was no bad bite. You couldn't even tell that the vegan dog was meatless but I will admit that the beef dog has my heart. It was flavorful. I will say though that the vegan mac & cheese was giving me potato salad vibes. Maybe it was the texture, the color, or maybe my brain thought the color looked a lot like mustard but it had the potato salad vibes. It was tasty but not exactly mac & cheese, haha! And the fries... just get them! They're the perfect fry! Priscila got a regular non-vegan Alfajores (homemade butter cookies filled with dulce de leche) as a dessert and she enjoyed it! The owner is such a super nice guy. He gave us some great suggestions and checked up on us frequently. We had heard him telling another patron that Simon is his twelve year-old son! How sweet of him to name his business after his son! I knew the food was 5-stars good when I found myself sitting in front of some empty baskets, looking at Priscila, and admitting, "We forgot to Boomerang us bumping wieners." It was just too good for the 'gram!

    Maicitos, and Patacones
    Kat V.

Beef hot dog is so juicy delicious. It goes well with every topping combo. My favorite is the Tokio madness. I could not believe that seaweed nori can go really well with hot dog. Corn maicitos are so addictive. I love the crunchiness of bacon and chip as well as the creaminess of corn and cheese. The columbian chorizo is flavorful and more dense than other kinds of chorizo. This is a busy small restaurant but they are so fast in preparing the delicious food. I placed an online order through their website, and paid when I got there.

Go support this small business! The owner is very kind and was super patient as I perused their surprisingly large vegan menu. I got the vegan hawaiian hot dog and it was by far the best vegan hot dog I've ever had. I am not usually a big fan of sweet and salty foods, but this hot dog is built different. The pineapple and barbecue sauce work so nicely together, and with the crispy vegan bacon and cheese it is marvelous. The vegan hot dog itself was also great and resembled a meat hot dog so well. Next time I definitely will get two and try the other flavors. My boyfriend got the normal hawaiian and he also loved that! Note: The place is small and only has a few tables.

Whatever you are doing in Scottsdale, you need to take the time to go buy Simon's hotdogs. It says that these are Colombian hotdogs, and I have never been to Columbia. But, it might be worth a trip if all the hotdogs are this good. If you're a meat lover, you were in heaven. If you're a vegan, you have a ton of options that are delicious. Shocked to find this gem hidden in a strip mall, but it is well worth the fight. Got the ultimate contradiction in a vegan cowboy hotdog with chili and vegan cheese, but it was incredible and one is very filling. I am a coleslaw snob happy to admit it. However, is coleslaw was killer and is good as the coleslaw I make. Whether for lunch, dinner, or a midday snack, this place kills it.

We stopped here for a quick bite and this is what we ordered! Sonoran Dog - first time having a sonoran dog and it was delicious. The bun was nicely toasted. This hot dog was full of toppings. Every bite was satisfaction. All the ingredients went really well together. I really like the Jalapeño because it adds a nice contrast to the flavor. Colombian Dog - This is my personal favorite. The flavor was umami with a nice hint of sweetness from the pineapple. The sauce was creamy and tangy. The beef hot dog had a nice crunch texture and was really flavorful. If you're looking for a quick bite and you don't want to get too full. I highly recommend this place!

    Colombian Hot Dog with fries

Needed a quick bite after an appointment & Simon's hot dog popped up. I had the coloumbian pork hot dog with Simon's sauce, chips, & pineapple. The columbian hot dog had sooo much flavor I could've just eaten a plain one, however, the sweet pineapple & his sauce gave it that extra flavorful balance. The kicker was the chips which added awesome texture to the hot dog. Thanks, Simon! I'll be back with some friends.

First time here. Tried the Sonoran Cousins with Colombian Chorizos and it was bomb! My child ordered the plain beef hot dog and she loved it, too. Price is reasonable and there is plenty of parking.

The whole store was small, but clean. There was no seating in this place as it is not a sit down restaurant. Food orders are placed to go. Almost ten minutes exactly our empanadas came out. We took them to our car and ate there. We wanted to eat them fresh and hot and boy were they steaming hot. I loved the crispness of the shells. The filling was very flavorful and moist. I dipped them in the salsa and they had had a nice kick. They were delicious! We were able to polish off four. After we arrived home some thirty minutes later, the empanadas were still warm and surprisingly still crispy! I ate the last two. I will definitely return to try their arepas!

This food truck was stationed outside my climbing gym yesterday. My friend who joined me to climb…read morewas hungry, so we gave this place a try. For $16, you get four mixed empanadas of your choice. That's a good deal, I think. But, the empanadas were on the smaller side. The owner was very friendly and informative and let us know these empanadas are made in the Columbian style. She also mentioned she lived in Mexico for many years and learned to make empanadas the Mexican way and combined some of those flavors also. The empanadas I had were all very tasty and I liked the salsa verde that came with the empanadas. I had the traditional (had a kick to it) and arroz con pollo. I gave Sherpa the calentado and chorizo ones, but no report back if they were good lol. My only gripe here is that the empanadas were a little more greasy than I usually like. On their website and in photos, they say their empanadas are air fried, but I think I recall seeing oil fryers outdoors yesterday. I try to keep fried foods to a limit as I don't always feel great after eating a greasy meal. And I have to maintain a svelte physique, just kidding there. Diabetes and heart disease run in my family, so I am very mindful of what I put into my temple. I also ate these after climbing as there is no way I could have had these empanadas in my stomach prior. Also interesting is that the vegetarian and vegan ones were kind of food color green. I guess you need to be able to differentiate them, but the color was off-putting. I'd give this place another try but would prefer baked empanadas. I love empanadas, just please hold the grease.
