I was recommended this place before as a study boba spot. I didn't get around to that, but I finally tried it today (Thanks Yelp push notification). I can only speak for my order, the strawberry matcha milk tea. I asked for 50% sugar. Boba is soft, which is what I always look for in my boba. I didn't mix the drink well at first so it was super sweet but after taking some more time to mix it up well I was happy with my drink overall. The only problem is I couldn't taste the matcha anymore. My friend said he liked his coffee milk tea and I was able to smell the drink, so I think the flavor is potent. This is an awesome little spot with plenty of seating for large groups. A nice and delicious variety of hot and cold drinks. Walking from the outside the establishment looks small but once inside it's a two sided hang out spot. Besides the drinks they have plenty of munchies and desserts like bubble waffles and dippin dots! The service is really good and they give you a stamp card for a free drink after you buy ten other drinks. The parking is a bit of a hassle but you can always park in the near by neighborhood and take a nice walk to the establishment. When I'm in the area I will definitely be thinking about this place when I'm on the mood for a sweet drink. read more

Boba was good but all the drinks were very watery- not creamy or flavorful. We got the Thai tea, honeydew, and chai. All very watery.

They have no bathroom!! The bubble waffle is terrific and I loved my drink, but I can't come back. We waited a little while for our food and drinks. My son, who was with me and is five, had to go pee. Luckily he was able to hold it when until we got home. But little kids will sometimes suddenly need to go to the bathroom and it quickly turns into an emergency. If makes me wonder what they are hiding and why they can't let a child use the bathroom. I think I will stick with places that offer public bathrooms to paying customers. read more

I was happy to find a boba shop so close from home when I found Simplee Boba (SB) on Yelp. After having dinner with my brother in Old Pasadena, I begged my brother to stop by SB so I can get my boba AND check out this place for the first time. SB is a small and cozy place. It looks like they have a separate room/area with tables and chairs for customers and theres a small area upon entering to order. I was really disappointed in their menu because it was just so generic. Living near SGV has set my boba standards high and none of the drinks in the menu has attracted me. Of course, that includes SB not having any of my grapefruit drinks. So I had no choice but to get like Milk Tea and Thai Tea for my brother. Nothing was different or stood out. You can get milk tea ANYWHERE in the area nearby and it probably taste very similar or even better than SB. It was PRETTY EXPENSIVE and OVERPRICED for such a mediocre quality drink. Even my brother commented on the drink saying that it wasnt worth the price we paid for. I am usually the one to complain in the family and my brother hardly ever says anything. To add, I did ask a couple questions but the girl at the counter did not seem too confident answering them. She was very shy and didnt make any eye contact. Despite the convenience of location, I would not come here for drinks. I will just drive an extra mile to get boba somewhere else. Parking here was pretty bad for me on the day I visited but I am not too sure if theres a private lot nearby. I had to look for street parking. I wish they change the menu a bit. I've been to probably 70+ boba places in SGV and LA and Simplee Boba is one of the most disappointing. Located by a railroad intersection in South Pasadena, I ordered online and came here to pick up. It said ETA was like 30 minutes, might be an overestimation, because do you really take that long to make a couple drinks? The staff was trying to get lots of information on my order when I came in to pick it up, even though it was the only one ready in the fridge. Maybe they didn't want the wrong person picking up the order. I would say the price was cheap, but my drink was not good. When I first drank my lychee green tea, I think I drank all the syrup on that first sip because it was overly sweet, but then the rest of the drink tasted like bland unsweetened tea. Maybe it wasn't mixed well, but if it was, there would still be really little flavor even though I asked for regular sugar. The honeydew milk tea also tasted really artificial and powdery. Boba was firm and had bad texture due to oldness. I later saw here that the staff would make you a new drink if you are not satisfied with it, but at that point I didn't care and was too much of a hassle. The worst milk tea we've ever had! Do not waste your money going here. So upset we wasted time and money! How does this place manage to stay in business? Today, I had simplee again for the first time in a while. With everything that is going on right now, I hadn't been able to stop in to my favorite boba spot for a few months. But I have to say, Simplee Boba never disappoints. My rose milk tea was delicious as always- and the bubble waffles are seriously fantastic. They are warm and soft and the right level of sweetness, I usually get the mochi waffle, but sometimes I'll get matcha and it's great too! Walking in to the delicious smell of the waffles brought back good memories of coming here and studying after school with my friends in the dining room that used to be open. Now that I'm in college, I really am feeling nostalgic! Stay awesome, Simplee, I'll try to come back more often!! read more

Boba was so-so, cups were small, drink was expensive, there was a convenience charge for the self serve which seemed to be the only option to order, plus the customization of tips is very limited. There is no bathroom, it looked cheap and dirty inside. I would never come here again. My drink was smaller than any other place I have been to and it was $8 still. There are so many other better boba places to go to in the area, I am surprised this place has such good reviews. One good thing is it is open quite late. read more

This little boba shop seems a little overwhelmed... Visited on a Saturday around 6 PM. Ordered a plain matcha bubble waffle and an almond milk tea, was told that the bubble waffle would take 10 minutes. No problem. 25 minutes later, I finally got my bubble waffle and diluted almond milk tea (literally had zero ice left). I got the sense that the staff knew this was wrong based on their body language, but there was barely any apology. I didn't want to make a fuss about it since they're clearly overwhelmed. I love trying new boba places when I'm in town. From what I saw, the parking was mostly street parking. There was an underground parking area that is free on weekdays after 12pm and that was pretty empty. When I went, there was no line, and they got to my order pretty quickly. If you check in on yelp, they'll upgrade your drink to large for free! I got the jasmine milk tea with boba here and it was really good. Definitely will be coming back! read more

Can easily fit 20 people. (I think that is a lot for a boba place) Cute decor and tables. I think people spend their $5 and sit for a few hours. Parking isn't the best. Ordered for pickup. They use actual lids rather than the sealed lids which can be a little tricky. The lid wasn't fully on my drink so part of my drink was spilled in the pick up bag which was unfortunate. The tea and drink itself was very average, nothing special. I stopped by here to get a snack before a fairly long drive to Orange County. I love egg waffles, and I've been a fan of them since I was a kid growing up in Hong Kong. I came here with my fiance, and we got the chocolate chip egg waffle and also a matcha strawberry milk tea. The last time I had a chocolate chip egg waffle was in Markham, Ontario. When I last had it, each of the individual "eggs" had its own chocolate chip. Simplee does it a bit differently, instead just sprinkling chocolate chips everywhere throughout the batter. It leads to a bit of inconsistency and also increases odds of getting chocolate on your fingers, but the flavors are still there. The matcha strawberry milk tea was very unique, albeit just a bit too sweet for me. It didn't just taste like generic matcha, but I think the strawberry flavor was a bit too syrupy. However, it actually tasted like strawberries, as opposed to that artificial pink ish flavor that's used in a lot of sweet snacks, so that's a huge plus. read more

I came across simply boba on Groupon! They had a deal that if you claim the rewards and you use your card on your account that you will get 20% cash back from your first purchase. Loving boba as much as I do, said sure! Why not? I get to try somewhere new AND get back money? It's a win-win. There is street parking, but if you aren't so lucky OR don't want to try to drive looking for some, there is a parking garage. Which makes it way less stressful, so you can hurry and get your boba fix. Walking in we were greeted by their employees. This is the first boba spot that I've been too that isn't too friendly and try to help you with recommendations, if you ask them about it, you'll get an awkward response back as if they don't want to reply and they are now judging you. -Got the creamy thai tea. -Their thai tea is better than some other spots (which it's like how can you mess that up to begin with?) Their boba was super fresh and I think that would be the only reason I ever come back. Their waffles are decent. The ice cream they choose, not much flavor to it, Imagine the waffles you were looking at but if it could be the taste was watered down. If that makes sense.
