Pad Thai
Michelle L.

Love when places make ordering simple! They use the GettingOrder platform which is coincidently used by the local Thai place near me on the east end of the GTA. The online menu is detailed and each item has a description of what makes up the dish. It is cheaper to order through their ordering system versus UberEats. The portions here are huge and managed to feed 2 for 2 meals. We had: 1. Pad Thai ($17.95) - The great thing about their pad thai is that you don't have to choose what meat to get - it comes with both shrimp and chicken! The shrimp were huge and there were a couple of big pieces in it. I enjoyed the flavour of the pad thai. It had a tiny bit of spice but not enough that there needed to be a warning on the menu. I also liked that they didn't have huge chunks of green onion in there, it was a good size. 2. Cashew Nut Chicken ($16.95) - This was an entree that would be perfect with some sort of side like a rice or noodle. There was a lot of chicken in this! The menu says that there are oranges in it but I think they mean within the sauce instead of having chunks of orange in it. 3. Spring Rolls - These spring rolls came crispy and bubbly on the outside which made for extra crunch. They poked holes in the container to ensure they didn't get soggy and sat them on a bed of fried noodles so they weren't sitting in their own grease which I appreciated. One thing is that there isn't any dedicated parking near here and there are a lot of snowbanks in the nearby areas so plan ahead when you're going to pick up. All in all a great meal!

fantastic mango and sticky rice, such beautiful presentation as well. Great customer service and a peaceful ambiance.

Love the food and service in this hidden little restaurant on Bloor! The interior decoration is beautiful & has such a modern & fancy look. The menu is fairly priced with most items in the $12-18 range. The fried rice is always so yummy whenever I go here, they never over do it with any spices or oil. They also do takeout which I noticed to be a lot more busy, as the amount of seated customers usually only fill less than 50% of the restaurant. So if you're looking for a lowkey place with good food & the nicest staff, this is it!

2.5 stars. Tom yum soup was salty and my main meal was not flavourful enough.. Waitress was not attentive and not friendly at all ... Also she was watching her vietnam or philipino video on the phone so loudly. Loud sound interrupted my meal. I could not enjoy classic music of the restaurant. They need to be improved about waitressing. Anyways It think I would not go back this one.

Glad I discovered this place in my neighbourhood!! Super friendly service, food came quick and was very tasty, loved the lemongrass soup and the spring roll - they have a lunch menu that includes main dish + roll + soup, everything at a good price.

We chose beef and extra shrimp. P7 Coconut Sorbet - Coconut milk ice cream, not bad, a little too sweet, and had a little bit of coconut meat. We eventually got seated at the bar in the back dining area. This place was a lot bigger than it looks. We decided to share a drink and got their Kardi Party Rum Punch. It was a large pitcher and we were able to get a couple drinks each out of it. For food, we ordered their Grabong "Squash Fritters" which were delicious. It was a huge appetizer and the sauce was great to dip the crispy fritters in. For our main, we got Shrimp Pad Thai and Tofu & Veggies Pad See Ew. Both were equally just as good. All the flavors were great and nothing was over seasoned; it was all just perfect. The bartenders were really friendly and personal. We had such a great experience and would love to come back next time we're in town!

We ordered 2 cocktails to start with the tapioca dumplings and green papaya fritters. The drinks came out immediately. I had the Tincture Perfect, which was outstanding. It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.

Service personnel, many with genuine Thai heritage, execute their roles with palpable passion for the menu's cultural context. The kitchen approaches classical Thai flavor constructions with respect, evident in the balance of fundamental taste components--the interplay of spice, acid, and umami articulation. Signature preparations achieve notable authenticity, with ingredients selected for both quality and cultural accuracy. The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation. The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization. The pricing structure reflects aspirational positioning within Toronto's Thai dining landscape--a consideration worth acknowledging when evaluating value proposition relative to alternative establishments. The establishment's restrictive approach to dietary accommodation--particularly regarding plant-based protein substitution in curry preparations--represents a notable limitation for certain guest profiles, warranting consideration in advance planning. Si Lom Thai Bistro offers a competent, earnest interpretation of Thai cuisine, executed by personnel who understand and respect the tradition. The experience appeals to those seeking sophisticated Thai dining executed with cultural literacy, though contextual factors merit thoughtful consideration.

I eat pad Thai in every city I visit and this may be the best yet since I first had pad Thai in college many many years ago. Been chasing that epic pad Thai for years and think I finally found it. Amazing depth of flavor. Partner got the Islamic noodles, which he thought were excellent as well, rich flavor and very well made. Would happily eat again. The only issue I had which made me knock off a star is that the glass and silverware had an odd scent, like the smell your glasses have if there's food stuck in your dishwasher filter -- if you know that scent you know what I mean. Just smelled funky and honestly the smell was ruining the taste (smell and taste are so closely linked) so I drank out of my own water bottle I had brought and grabbed a plastic fork to eat with which did solve the issue but still...less than ideal
