The name says it all. Just a simple Thai restaurant that'll satisfy your Thai cravings. The wife and I were in the area and decided to give this place a try. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a nice romantic atmosphere. We ordered a bowl of the Tom Kha soup, Chicken Pad Thai, and the Red Curry with chicken. The service was a little slow and the food took awhile to come out. The soup was solid but nothing that made it special. I've had better at Sweet Thai Basil in Hurst. However, I really enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai here. It had the perfect amount of sauce and sweetness to it. The noodles were perfectly cooked and absorbed the sauce like a sponge. The Red Curry was a little bland. We added extra peppers to give it kick and that jazzed it up! The only thing I did not care for was the chicken in every dish. It was super dry! Oh and they charge you extra if you ask for an extra bowl of rice. In the end, this place was just OK in my opinion. Not a place I'd seek out or drive out of the way for. The service is good I must say. The sever is courteous and helpful. This is good for a Thai restaurant that the kitchen is known to take longer time. However, the food is not authentic and poor taste. The curry is diluted to water thin and too much sugar added you can't miss the candy like taste. In Thailand, making curry out of scratch is a home cooking must and pride. The signature Thai Tom Yum soup turns to a pure candy soup. There is absolutely lacking in flavor of Galanga, Kiffer Lime and Lemon Grass, of which the basic fundamental herbs for the soup. Usually if a restaurant can't keep the iconic dish authentic and pleasing, what can you expect from the rest menu, literally. I don't know what has changed in this place. I came many times before but I'm less and less loyal to this place. The food here cut corners due to budget constraints and cook competencies. I have better places to go for Thai food. read more

We love Simply Thai we moved to North Richland hills from Coppell an we were thrilled to find a quality place. They have great spice control we love how spicy they go. We enjoy the pad Thai an the Basil fried rice and I love the pineapple fried rice. The staff is always courteous even when they are swamped. Food is pretty good. They do use a lot of cilantro, and I'm not a fan of that. But they usually accommodate by excluding it if I ask. There was one time I think the chef was having a bad day and gave me a dirty look for sending a dish back after saying no cilantro please because it tastes soapy to me. Nice! Stopped into this strip mall for some errands and Simply Thai was suddenly calling my name. Upon entry there were menus conveniently placed and I was promptly greeted. I placed a to-go order at the counter with a very professional and pleasant gentleman that seemed to be working the entire restaurant with ease. Several patrons at the time and they all looked as though they were enjoying themselves. I ordered the lunch Spicy Basil spice level four, and lunch Drunken Noodles spice level two. Both dishes were spiced just right and had plenty of flavor. The Spicy Basil comes in two parts, rice and then the meat mixture, absolutely delicious but the rice was kinda weird packaged up, almost like a rice bar of soap vs a packed rice container. I didn't have enough rice to accompany the dish but the rice I did have was good. Might have been a fluke in packaging but not a big deal. The waiter was great! One of the best I've had at a Thai restaurant. Welcoming, informative, and attentive! With that being said, the food was just ok. My husband got the crispy pad Thai. He's wasn't impressed. I got the yellow curry. The flavor just wasn't there for me, and my potatoes needed to be cooked longer, hard to cut! My sons kids chicken nuggets and jasmine rice was good! The chicken nuggets are house made so that was nice! We got the fried dumplings as an appetizer and they were OK. Yum!!! I found this place because I was craving fried rice and my usual go to spot is closed this week for renovations (bummer)! But this place did not let me down. The ingredients are so fresh and full of flavor! I ordered the pineapple fried rice (take off pineapples) with shrimp and wow it's really good! I have no complaints at all about the flavor or spice level. I even like the bigger vegetables that they put in the rice. It's really so good! I thought it would be weird with the tomatoes that are in the rice but man was i wrong! The tomatoes soak up the flavor and spice and taste so good!! Decided to get this delivered on UberEats. I was not disappointed. Tried the pad kee mao and crispy basil chicken. Both were so flavorful and good. Rice comes with the crispy chicken and the rice was fresh and fluffy. I bet if I ate at the restaurant, the chicken would have been super crispy. It still has a little crunch so I'm happy. We had a craving for Thai so checked the area and saw good reviews on Yelp. Glad we trusted Yelp reviews! We got here about 8 on a Friday night and only a few tables were taken but initial impression is its a small family run place. Very clean and nice decor. Nothing fancy but that usually means they rely on their food more. Our waitress was Brittney and she was very helpful and friendly. Just the right amount of checking in on us and not being over bearing. Based on previous reviews I read we ordered the appetizer sampler. You can choose four different appetizers and get two of each. So we decided on : chicken curry puff, chicken satay, crab Rangoon and fried shrimp rolls. WOW!!!!! They were all amazing! Obviously homemade and everything tastes great. My better half loved the chicken curry puff most and the chicken satay on. Skewer was my favorite....incredibly tasty. I decided on the drunken noodles ( waitress said this was most popular ) with mixed seafood and my better half had the pad Thai noodles with chicken. Once again they hit it out of the park. Excuse me!? How did I not know there was a Thai restaurant so close to me, that delivers?! I feel thankful and cheated at the same time! All kidding aside, after a mean study session I decided to get takeout for me and the hubs. I've been craving stir fry veggies and I hadn't been able to find a satisfactory dish! Until today, when I saw the magnificently huge portion of spicy veggies and tofu that awaited me! The portion was HUGE!! The soup was everything I wanted and more, I didn't realize it had shrimp so that was a pleasant surprise. Great Thai food! Hard to find authentic Thai food nearby, but we stumbled upon this one! So delicious!

Starting off with the decor, the interior is nicely decorated in a pretty purple and green color scheme. Orchid floral arrangements are found in the front entrance area and the back wall. White lanterns hang from the ceiling. The wicker/ bamboo chairs give it that authentic Thai ambience feel. The service was good. Everyone was nice and friendly enough. As for the food, it was generally good but did not leave me with a "can't wait to come back" impression. The yellow curry with chicken had good flavor but had pineapples in it which threw me off. The pad see ew was okay but the pad kee mao with beef was especially delicious. I would come back for that dish. Overall a good place to get your Thai food fix. read more

Finally got to try Keller's newest Thai offering. There are at least three now. Very nice decor. Clean, rather modern. A couple of booths, but mostly tables. When were told they were out of hot tea, I took it as a bad sign the meal would not go well. Then we learn they are out of the Papaya Salad (Som tum), one of our go to benchmark dishes. I can understand being out of the papaya salad, as I presume it is made fresh daily. But to be out of tea, when you are a Thai restaurant and located right next door to a Kroger, well the irony was not lost on me. We start with the fried tofu appetizer, since no som tum. Very tasty, not oily at all, in fact quite dry and crispy. Sweet dipping sauce goes well. I rather liked the very inconsistent cuts and sizes of the tofu. There were large pieces, small pieces, and oddly shaped pieces. All were very tasty. For mains we go for our other benchmark dish, Pad Thai (hot) and a red curry with shrimp (medium). Pad Thai was good, a little on the sweet side for me. When I was first introduced to this dish (30 some years ago) it was called "Village Noodle" on the menu, because (I was told) it reflected the village's style. This village likes it sweet. I will also kick the heat up next time, as "hot" was not hot enough for me. Curry was very good. I don't recall green beans being in red curry, but it was a nice addition. Shrimp tasted fresh, not frozen (but I'm not sure). Service was friendly and efficient. All in all a very nice experience. "Simply Thai" will definitely be added to the Keller Restaurant rotation. Bottom line: I still can't get over out of hot tea! PS. New, permanent, sign is up. Temp sign and Mabuway sign are gone. PPS. BYOB too! read more

One my more favorite Thai spots out of the many in the area. Spice is perfect and the food is always consistent. In always get the drunken noodle and my wife likes to experiment every time we go. My kids love the shrimp fried rice and it's priced ok maybe a little bit on the higher side but I don't mind. There is typically always open parking and the bathrooms are generally clean. The wait times can be long at times but it won't keep me from going. Save some room for desert I recommend the fried ice cream. read more

What I ate was delicious! The drunken noodles was delicious, I love the texture of the noodles and they were cooked too perfection. I love the appetizers chicken curry puffs. Crunchy crust with well seasoned potatoes and chicken in a creamy curry on the inside. The service here is excellent and well knowledgeable about the menu . Updating my review as I have become increasingly more frustrated with this place. My husband and I order 1-2 times a week, the SAME order to go. It's almost always a crap shoot on weather they get it right with the spice level or the things we add on. The food is good, but the service and attention to detail has really started to be hit or miss. In addition - I was recently in and had the unfortunate opportunity to hear someone bring their food back because of a cockroach being in it. While we were standing at the counter (the lady was returning her food), I literally watched 2 small cockroaches run across the counter. DISGUSTING. We have always been big supporters of local businesses. But I'm starting to lose patience with Simply Thai. It's the closest place to us, and they for sure have the best Spicy Thai Fried Rice... but I'm considering becoming a full time patron of Sea Siam, and Thai Rice n Noodle. read more

The sauce in their Thai dishes tastes like it is made mostly of white onion juice and garlic. Certainly not a delicate taste, that's for sure. They really should advise customers of the copious amounts of strong juices, it's enough to choke a horse. I have personally never eaten a dish with added onion juice, but it was obvious just from the smell. Panang curry, pad Thai and shumai. Shumai are deep fried balls of meat filled deliciousness. Unfortunately they were served cold and had to be sent back. Ask for sweet and sour sauce to dip them in. Pad Thai was good, not great, but good. Panang curry was not creamy. It was very watery thin, like soup, but was still good. Hubby liked it better than the traditional thicker kind typically served (he felt less guilty eating it) but I prefer the usual guilt-filled creamy kind. Level 3 spice wasn't spicy so if you're used to level 3, ask for 4 here. Service was attentive and kind. Aprox $10-12 per dish, $5-8 for apps. We spent aprox $30 for lunch and were full.
