Love the staff here. Although we have moved further, this is still one of our favorite places to go. Food is great, they tell us ahead of time when they are out of specific food. Simple place bit very spacious. Sad to see it's been slow for all food industry so we support small mon & pop shops more than ever. Great food & they bring it out as soon as it is ready. Love the bakes mussels here.

I've gone here once before and don't really remember too much but went again today with my sister as it was the closest AYCE sushi to us. Went around 4:45pm and it was completely empty inside with just the employees. Big plus as it meant that they were more attentive and experience was more personal. I liked the service that they provided. They took very good care of us and we were able to give our orders whenever. The decor and furniture inside is very plain but it's okay. Just wanted to spend time with my sister. The food is pretty good. We got a few rolls, Mario Special, Vampire and Paradise to list a few, and my sister and I enjoyed it. Absolutely love the baked mussels here! They're exactly how I like it. I would come again but it's definitely not my go to spot. Check came out to about $75 without tip for 2 people.

Best kept secret in Vegas! Great service, great roll choices, lots of variety, and amazing prices. The seating area is basic and so is the sushi bar, but you don't need extra frills when your rolls and food are this great! My husband and I love this place because it has so much to choose from that we don't have to compromise on eating what the other wants and can get it all! Enjoy!

Assuming you coordinate your order(s) with your table and don't order rolls with a lot of rice, it's totally doable to get a great bang for your buck here! We ordered an array of items such as the nigiri, baked green mussels, oysters, edamame, mini udon, baked scallop roll, yakitori skewers, The Shit, Umami Special, and plenty more! Drink wise: 10/10 would recommend the Strawberry Lychee Soju cocktail Nicole's customer service was on point during my family's most recent visit. Everything we ordered came out at a reasonable time and our water jug was proactively refilled without us having to flag her down. She even greeted my dad for Father's Day! That was a lovely touch, seeing as we came in right before the dinner rush. Coming from a brief food service background myself and in the interest of mindfulness, I try to make ordering a lot of items as easy as possible. It helps a to have a server that's personable and attentive. We're so thankful for her taking such great care of us! Ending up on the waitlist (20+ min for a table) is almost a guarantee here, rest assured Umami is definitely worth it.

If you visit during weekends, expect at least an hour wait during peak hours. My personal favorites are the Lisa Lisa, Sexy Girl and garlic tuna nigiri. For appetizers I order the spicy garlic edamame and veggie tempura. The staff is extremely friendly, and the service is quick! They try to have as much seating as possible in a small space, so it can get quite loud. But overall it's a comfortable environment.

Shigotonin is a delightful discovery off the Vegas strip (but may as well be on the strip…read moreconsidering the taste and quality of food here) in a small plaza. Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!

This tells me that I wasn't the first person to ask about it. In any case, we won't be going back, and unless you get on their mysterious waitlist for the happy hour, you're out of luck.
