I was very disappointed to find out they don't offer any specials on weeknights in the summer despite reading an article in The Shorebeat magazine that touted their access to daily fresh seafood. The filet mignon was good but the "lump" crab cakes were dry and lacked lump meat. It was more like shredded claw meat and overly dry. The lack of weeknight specials was a turnoff for me and I won't be returning. Honestly it was the worst steak I've ever had. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 and cooked medium. It was served to us RARE! Unless it were for 2 children there's no way that was big enough for 2. It definitely was not a PRIME cut of meat. The waitress was definitely in need of training after sending our unflavored, under cooked steak back we ordered another round of drinks which she never brought to us. She didn't clear our empty and unused glasses which made our small table even more crowded. In short it is NOT WORTH TRYING. Save your time and money. Sinners charges AC steak house prices for Chain-level service and quality. Started with the hostess wearing gym clothes- looked like she just got back from a 5k. We were sat right away with our reservation. I thought the atmosphere was great. Our server was a sweetheart, but totally forgot about us several times, no bread, no water after being reminded, no specials I guess? Forgot our drink orders, came back 10-15 min after we ordered them to ask what they were again and waited for some time on drinks. Probably one of my biggest issues is charging $44 for two dirty martinis. Asked for grey goose, was told they were out. Then got the check and had an additional $6 upcharge for grey goose. When I asked she said she was wrong and they had grey goose- highly doubt that was accurate and couldn't tell because the $22 Martini was mostly olive juice. If you charge that much you have to add some alcohol. Calamari and oysters were excellent. $95 Porterhouse for two was good, but overpriced. Ordered medium rare. Was served rare- which is normal- most steakhouses I've gone to have a tendency to undercook, but this was cold. We asked to send it back to cook a little more and warm it up, and a guy appears at our table, didn't announce himself or introduce (still have no clue who he was) , and just asked "under cooked or over cooked". Seemed a little annoyed that we sent it back. It was fine when it came back. Seemed like a lower quality/grade of steak compared to other steakhouses, lacked the texture and taste of a quality cut but had a decent char to it. But taste and quality was no where near aligned to the price. Sides were good. Again, my biggest issue is price and service, what you get for what you pay for. This $275 dinner for two would have been around $150 at Four Winds or Patrick's Grille with higher quality steaks, better drinks, and better service. Don't charge NYC prices unless you're providing that level of service. I wish them all the best and all the success, it was a packed house so maybe we just had a bad night but I won't be back. read more

Entrees we're expensive & over cooked. $60 for a bone in veal chop that was dry & accompanied by way too many fingerling potatoes that seemed to dominate the plate. Finally, a great steakhouse down the shore! I honestly can't understand the poor and mediocre reviews here... I came on a Sunday night with the whole family. We got a few appies (clams casino, bacon, garlic shrimp), bunch of different entrees at different temperatures (pork chop, filet, ribeye, delmonico, strip and even pasta and clam sauce) and got a couple sides (mac and cheese, garlic mash). Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly, portions were generous and service was very good. Everyone was so impressed with the entrees we all shared/made everyone else taste each others! This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Stacks up as well or better than all the best steak houses in NY, including Peter Lugers, Keens, Sparks, Wolfgangs, Ben Benson, Empire, Frankie and Johnny, and Bobby Vans... Went there on Sunday (6/19) for a 6pm reservation. Waiter (older guy) seemed harried and inexperienced. Never told us the specials ? We both ordered the 8oz Barrel cut Filet Mignonette. They serve us the steaks which were cooked properly but never brought us steak knives.....we had to ask.... We questioned the sharpness of the steak knives since the meat was a little difficult to slice....I will say that the meat quality was low grade. It seemed like a hunk of sirloin and not Filet mignon. It should not be so tough to cut...waiter saw we were not satisfied and acted like oh well. We heard great things about the restaurant. We went there on a Sunday night. Food was good but service was horrendous. Server was new and had no training. took glasses off the table & restocked them to be used again. Soup was cold but did taste good. My wife's steak was ordered extra well done. it cam out medium rare we sent it back & was returned cooked medium. Other tables were complaining about the service also. No one served us any bread, all other tables seemed to be getting bread so we had to ask for it. 30 minutes after putting in order, we were told they ran out of lobster. It seems strange since lobster boats are all around. Drunken clams with sausage appetizer was tasty but very small portion. We ordered a bottle of wine and was told 15 min later they did not have it. Down the shore for vacation and decided to check this place out. Food was very good and service was top notch. When we made reservations, it did not show the ability to eat outside in the covered patio area but when we arrived and asked about it, the hostess was very accommodating and seated us there. Very nice place and across the street is the inlet so after dinner we walked over and had a very nice conversation with a gentleman fishing. Overall great experience!! read more
