And then you smell the gyro being served it's just makes your mouth water. The service was excellent. It is spotless, with fast service and clean bathrooms. Sinya is my "go-to" Mediterranean restaurant. I've been there four times in the last two months--this time, I chose something a little different. I ordered the Mixed Shawarma Entree, which has many with meats, rice, salad, and Hummus. For appetizers I got a large order of Baba Ghanoush, enough for three persons. Finally an order of (6) Falafel. Both of my guests ordered Lentil Soup, and they both thought it was good. Wow. This food is fantastic. The falafel is the best I've had in Chicago. The hummus is excellent. It's worth going for just those things ... but wait, there's more! A lot of people get takeout, and if you eat in you may be taking a lot to go because the portions are big. There's many vegetarian friendly items including falafel, grape leaves, and more. Came at lunch and we ordered at the counter. It's about $12.95 for the cheapest combos, but these are still worth it. The large portions make these a good value. Many plant based items to get. The Falafel Plate has 6 pieces, which is impressive. Many other places only put in a few. This also comes with hummus and tahini for dipping, pita triangles, and there's rice and salad. Get the Vegetarian Plate for even more food. This also has baba ghannouch and grape leaves. Full of flavor and it's all fresh. Really solid option for mediterranean food in an area that desperately needed it. As others have said, this isn't exactly a comfortable dining in experience - there's really only two or three tables, and it's set up much more for take out. Even if you order ahead, you may have to wait a minute or two as staff is usually on the phone or dealing with orders - they seem to always be extremely busy around dinner. Good for them! The food is quite good for takeout, good portions at pretty reasonable prices. If you're in the neighborhood and used to, say, Pi-Hi, this is certainly an elevated version of what you might get there. The falafel and grape leaves are hearty yet light, the hummus is quite good, and the sinya salad is a nice, refreshing option to break it up. Compared to a place like Falafel and Grill on Montrose, I'd say this is similar, but just a tough below. The pita was pretty standard, and the falafel were definitely cold and a little hard - I have a feeling, particularly on bush nights, they prebatch a lot of this stuff and just put it in containers. I understand the need, but what Sinya makes in quality ingredients, they lack in freshness. read more

I ordered- The Falafel Wrap Baba Ghanoush Side of Chicken Kebab The falafel wrap was much larger than I expected. This would be a really filling meal for most people by itself. The ingredients tasted really fresh as well. I also feel as if the price was extremely fair for the quality. I loved the baba ghanoush. It came with pita bread, but I actually ended up stuffing some of it into my falafel wrap too. The side of chicken kebab was something I would pass on in the future. It was extremely dry and hard to chew. I'm not sure If I was unlucky and got pieces that were over cooked, or if this was normal for them. The chicken was seasoned ok, but I was very distracted by the texture. I would likely just stick to plant based meals here in the future. read more

Bingo!!! Found my new Mediterranean spot. So excited. Just moved from the west and left my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Solely found this spot becauae Roscoe Village/Lakeview was having their own restaurant week. We got to try appetizers, main entree, and dessert. What a great concept to try a new restaurant. This location was easy to find and there was parking right in front and on the side of the restaurant. Restaurant itself is small. They had about four or five tables inside. Very well lit and clean inside. We opted for takeout. Ordered: Falafel, Mediterranean Salad, Mixed Meat Shawarma Plate (salad, rice, pitas), & Baklava. Very impressed with the presentation of food. Taste of the food was on point. Enjoyed every morsel of this meal. Both chicken and beef shawarma was flavored just right. We had leftovers on salad and plate for tomorrow. Sadly we ate all the baklava and wished we ordered more. Customer service was also prime here. Everyone was friendly and answered all our questions.
