SIpan Bakery is the best Pizza joint in Glendale. We stopped here a month ago, and I ordered a breakfast pizza and some Middle Eastern Tacos for us. My girlfriend recommended this place to us. The Chicken falafel Shawarma Tacos were bomb. Pizza we all ordered had pepperonies and olived in them. Along with cut Bell Peppers. Had a great Middle Eastern Mediterrinean kick to them. Solid 4 star rating. This bakery mainly has various manaish for consumption. For those who don't know what that means, it is dough that contain a mixture of spices, meats, cheeses and other toppings. The selection is pretty good and the prices are even better. The quality and authenticity of the pies and other treats is definitely good. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic armenian or lebanese manaish. Service is also great. Seems to be a family operation with various family members tending to customers and doing actual baking. Solid 4 star rating. If you can only buy one item, I would recommend the zaatar pie. This place used to be my favorite place to get some good authentic food. Ever since the new owners took over it's taken a drastic turn for the worse. 0/5 customer service. 1/5 food. Ordered a breakfast pizza with mushrooms. Came out with peppers on there which I am allergic to. Told them I'm allergic can you make a new one without the peppers. They said sure. Made the 2nd one with peppers again. Took it back and the worker/owner/uncle (not sure which) replied with a really bad attitude saying that their mushrooms are prepackaged with peppers. I said you should have told me sooner, I can't eat this. His response was to go into the cash register. Take out a bunch of cash and throw it on the counter. Told him I don't want his money and just left. I will never be stepping foot into that place again. Just disgusting. read more

My friend found this place because he is a huge fan of katchapuri and I'm so glad I went along! The katchapuri was delicious and you can add a variety of toppings. The owner (I think it was him at least) was very kind and explained options to us and even recommended different vegetarian options for me. The food was fresh and super delicious. Savory and spice and everything nice here at Sipan Bakery! When I first drove by, I saw "bakery" and stopped by to pick up a sweet treat. What I found instead was one of the most delicious Middle Eastern bakeries serving mostly baked savory goodies made fresh at this location. My go to is the Mushroom Beoreks ($2.00) and the Spinach Beoreks ($2.25). Each of these doughy pockets is filled with the ingredients (vegan friendly) and baked until golden brown. They are a delicious snack and freeze well. Another one of my favorites is the Zahtar Maneish ($2.00) and Lahmajune ($2.00). The Zahtar had a heavy thyme, sumac and sesame flavoring. So much flavor with each bite! The Lahmajune reminded me of a Middle Eastern thin crust pizza and I thoroughly enjoyed while it was prepared fresh. I have brought these as gifts and my guests have raved over them. If you never been to a Middle Eastern Bakery, this would be a perfect choice with all the home made selection including wraps, paninis, a twist on tacos and salads. They are located in a small strip mall and open 7 days a week. The owner is extremely friendly and went out of his way to complete my order even though they were out of stock. As for sweets, you'll have to keep on looking, but for savory this hits the spot. read more

My family had a get together in an AirBNB we booked and got food from here and served it in the styrofoam containers they provided and the food was so delicious that no one cared how it was served. Plus it made the occasion even more memorable. Today is a review of some of the usual items I get at Sipan: FALAFEL TACOS (5/5): These were impressive! Soft flatbread, crunchy pieces of falafel topped with diced tomatoes and flavorful/spicy sauce. At a price of 3 tacos for $4.95 this is a stellar value and so flavorful and delicious! Can not wait to get these again. CHICKEN SHAWERMA PLATE (4.5/5): A decorous mix of shawerma meat, pickles, hummus & fries (today we substituted fries for hummus as we didn't want to overeat before thanksgiving but their fries are delicious). LAHMAJOUN (5/5): This dish has so many names and many countries have their own version of this classic flatbread topped with ground beef. Sipan does these so well. Highly recommend getting a couple of these on the side. 1-2 per person is what I'd recommend. They have delicious PIZZAS and lots of other baked goods! Picked up some food from here over the weekend: zaatar sandwiches with vegetables, hummus, and a couple of zaatar maanakeesh. Happy to report that it was all delicious. They also carry bonjous, which is a treat. The order was ready on time, staff was friendly and courteous. The only negative is that there is some construction going on in the entire plaza so the place is hard to notice since the sign is down. I am by no means an expert in all things Armenian...yet. With great curiosity and a good friend who talks about Armenian bread from this place, I ended up here. Khachapouri: A bread boat with cheese, egg and some sausage. It was exactly what I had imagined. The bread was slightly browned but the texture inside was nice and almost like mozzarella cheese in terms of chewiness. If this was all I ate for breakfast, I'd be okay. 5/5 Lahmajune: It's almost like pizza. This flatbread has cooked tomatoes, parsley, mint, garlic, onions...from what I remember tasting. 4/5 Maneish Zatar: Flatbread with olive oil, lemon and herbs. You'll taste oregano, sesame seeds, thyme, sumac...and it has grittiness to it. It was good but I just don't enjoy having a gritty feeling in my mouth. 3/5 Falafel Wrap: The falafel itself was pretty tasty and crunchy. But it was just alright. Amazing place! Everything here is made fresh and delicious. The first time we tried Sipan, we really didn't know what to expect or order. So we just got #6 lahmajune as a wrap and the spicy lahmajune to go. The second visit we had the #7 as a pizza (cooks faster and easier to eat) with the homemade sausage, herb, and spices. This time we ate there. The breakfast pizza was DELICIOUS! Hot, fresh, spicy, just plain wonderful! It also came with pickles, jalapenos, and hot sauce. I could eat this every day. But I probably shouldn't because I'd be as big as a house. My husband (who usually isn't impressed with much) also enjoyed the pizza and commented that he'd rather have this over his usual breakfast burrito. We also ended up taking a few other things to go. Can't wait to try those things too. Sipan Bakery is the kind of small mom & pop place that I just love supporting. The owner is warm, welcoming, and believes in serving quality food. "Eek! Methinks not." is the perfect description of my experience. **This is not a review of their food, but rather their blatant disregard for public health** I stopped in here to grab lunch after visiting the UPS location in the same shopping center. The only customer in the store was not wearing a mask. I cringed but excused it as disobedient customer (but what happened to no mask, no service?). The employee on the phone talking loudly without a mask (spraying droplets everywhere). I excused it because maybe he took his mask off for a few moment because the customer couldn't hear him over the phone (see, I'm reasonable). Have stopped by here a couple of times for their chicken shawarma wraps. Get it with everything in it. tad spicy but in the best way.
