This is a follow up to several past reviews I posted about Sippin, but this one is UNREAL. After basically being extorted money for oil, I left bad, but 100% honest reviews, apparently, they did not sit too well with management. To recap, our landlord has a SERVICE contract with Sippin for his home and the house we rent, service, no oil delivery. We were told by Patty, Sippins billing person, that WE MUST buy full loads of oil from them when we needed oil, regardless of whether or not we could afford a full tank. This led us to complain and investigate the law ourselves. We found that legally, they cannot demand that we buy full loads from them BY LAW. Now, because we complained, Sippin CANCELLED my landlords contract! The landlord had NOTHING to do with our complaint AT ALL, but is now being punished by Sippin! This is a disgusting way to treat consumers especially when Sippin was in the wrong to begin with! And all because of greed. read more

Sippin called me during the summer to make sure I got scheduled for a yearly maintenance before heat season started. I was scheduled for 12-4 pm slot. I called around 11am to see if I could get a smaller window for the techs arrival but they couldn't give me one. The technician was polite and friendly. He answered my questions patiently. He completed in just over an hour and then reported back to me. My only wish was that he turned off the lights in the furnace room when he left. I also wish I could have been given a 2 hr window Thanksgiving weekend I woke up with no heat or hot water. Inherited this company when we bought the house. Couldn't be happier. We have the service plan which includes annual cleaning and servicing. The operatives are all pleasant and knowledgeable. There are a lot of choices in this area, we have mused two others. Sipping is our favorite. read more

I bought a house a few years ago, and it has a service card for previous work by Sippin, so I called them to perform simple seasonal upkeep, assuming they knew the systems best. Or rather, I TRIED to call them. They have 4 numbers, and no one would answer them for a whole WEEK. Finally on the 6th day someone answered. When I explained I wanted seasonal maintenance done on my AC system, the lady said because I do not have "a contract", I would have to give them my credit card and pay in advance for the work, with additional charges as labor & parts were added. They wanted to START at $400.00 and add on more, just for a simple preventative spring serving. I have found a local oil/service provider in the next town whom I have since been very happy with, who says they NEVER charge ~~IN ADVANCE~~ for anything, and no company he knows of does so either. He charges around $270 for seasonal upkeep of my A/C systems, and $195 for the furnace. In fact, I have called FOUR local HVAC companies, and NONE of them require payment in advance. Who is stupid enough to pay BEFORE the work is even started, or even looked at. This is an edited review, as you can see below a Sippin employee responded. First with what amounted to an Advertisement, extolling the wonders and marvels of Sippin Energy and it's bronze or tin-plated contracts, and when I called him/her out on that, they edited their response, but then changed it to a rambling 540+ word diatribe, presuming I asked for AC ~&~ furnace service (who would do that??) and claiming that my review was unfair because they never actually did any work for me. Guess what? My week-long attempt to contact you? And the conversation with it's absurd demands for prepayment? That constitutes "an experience with your company", which is what... a... review.. IS. And what gives you the right to presume to declare my opinion on anything is invalid? A rational person would just have let it go, and if incapable of doing so, post just a: "I respectfully disagree with this review, and would be happy to discuss business with anyone who calls us" ...rather than wear the reader out with a silly meandering rebuttal. read more

Multiple calls and requests for contact and no calls back.... New to area and this company was recommended by my Landlord with a warning that this company was difficult to get ahold of but would provide delivery as needed. I read the multiple reviews, which I always take with a grain of salt, and knowingly tried to contact them to set up an oil contract. Hate to say it but if a company cannot return calls HOW are they going to be when I have an urgent need for service or repair. Good Luck with this company if your going to use them and I hope it works out for you. NOTE TO COMPANY: Don't bother responding your answers are always the same and your inability to respond with a simple call tells me everything I need to know about you. Your either to busy or independently wealthy enough that you do not need another customer. A previous review where you were called out by a person trying for a week to contact you ends with your rebuttal that you have a fantastic staff and will look into your not receiving phone messages. EITHER one or the other of your responses appears to be a LIE as here it is a few months later and I have the same issue with contacting you! Fix your phone, or your staff, before bothering the local CONSUMERS who will let each other know of issues with your business you either are unable, OR, unwilling to fix. read more

I have a horrible experience with Sippin. We came home from our vacation last night (Jan 1, 2018) and found that our oil tank was empty. We're on automatic delivery and the tank should be filled, but nope! The oil ran out and our furnace was shut down at midnight. I called Sippin several times but it wasn't taking care of right away even though I kept mentioning it's urgent. Thank goodness that I had the technician Bill's phone number (I believe that's his name). I called his number directly and he was great responding to our request and came to our house to re-start our furnace around 2:30 a.m. I called Sippin again to make sure that they would deliver oil to our house today but the person I spoke with (she said she's supervisor) told me that they can't come out until tomorrow! Really? Do they have a sense of urgency in this horrible weather? I have two toddlers in the house and they put us in this risky situation! The person I spoke with was very rude. I emphasized that this is urgent and we wouldn't have oil to heat the house today. I had to call back to double check and finally got oil delivered. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone if they can't even take responsibility to take care of this potentially dangerous situation. read more

Showed up on time, with an en route call 10 minutes before as promised. Jon figured out the problem, made the necessary repair and got my heat back on. Prompt, polite and efficient and repair was covered by my Gold Sippin Service Plan--what more can you ask? Have been a Sippin customer for 15 years! read more

We signed up with Sippin when we moved to our new home in December 2017. It took a couple of service calls from their representatives and from an appliance repair company before they finally fixed faulty lines on our propane tank for our stove (so I was out money for an unnecessary repair call for the stove since they had insisted it wasn't a problem with their equipment). They told me that the propane tank was empty and they could fill it at a one-time special promotional rate, and it turns out it was 3/4 full so I used up the promo rate for no reason. Their billing is completely inconsistent as far as how long it takes them to bill for deliveries, which resulted in us being billed for oil twice in one month as they caught up on billing. We signed up for a service plan with them for our furnace and they came out and said did the maintenance visit, said everything looked good, and then a week later our heat stopped working. It took multiple calls out before they realized that they needed to replace a part on the furnace. For some reason we were charged $157 for one of those visits (which should have been covered under the service plan) and I called early last week to ask why and to ask if it's possible to get a line run from our propane tank to our grill. Left messages with two people in the appropriate departments last week, never heard back from either one. Called again this morning to follow up on both of these things, spoke with the customer service manager, was assured I would be called back "very soon" and almost 4 hours later I still haven't heard back. We've had 4 oil deliveries and those have all been great. I don't know what's going on with everything else, but we have been extremely unhappy with Sippin. read more

This company is the worst! Don't do any of their automatic delivery programs. You will end up paying a ridiculous amount per gallon and they will deliver constantly when oil prices are high(even when you don't need oil). read more

So getting your furnace serviced usually entails showing a technician to your utility room and trusting that they will do a good job and what's necessary. For the first time EVER!! I had a technician who I know did a very thorough job. Justin was kind enough to explain to me what needed to be done and what he was doing all while taking care not to soil our very light carpets he had to keep walking on to get to the room. We have older units and certain aspects of the tuneup required more work than most. Where in some cases some tech's would avoid doing this part because of the work involved. It was obvious Justin not only took pride in what he did but one can tell that he always does the best job to his ability. Kudos to Sippin Energy for having an employee who is not only knowledgeable but contentious and hard working! read more

I used Sippin for home oil last year and they are a rip-off. On two occasions that charged me for things that I did not asked. The service people did work that was not preapproved, even though I was in the house while they did it. After I canceled my service they delivered oil and charged me for it. There are better companies out there to use. Stay away from Sippin! read more

Sippin's technician Bill came to our home to explore and diagnose a problem we were having with our zone heating. We'd had another company who did the original work for us come out two separate times, but they could not fix the problem. We'd about given up hope of ever getting the zones to work properly. Bill was a miracle worker. He had an extraordinary knowledge base and a remarkable commitment to problem-solving. He simply didn't quit until he could figure out the problem. Not only was he patient and committed to finding an answer for us, he was an excellent communicator. He was even able to make the members of this household understand what he was talking about (no easy task)! We're so grateful to Bill for putting the time and effort into considering all aspects of our zoning problems, and then figuring out the tweaks and adjustments to make it work correctly. In short, we were most impressed with Bill, and most happy he did the job for us. read more

I've had several oil providers over the last several years. By far the worst. Overpriced, horrible customer service and an extremely inconsistent delivery schedule. Left me without oil twice during the coldest winter on record. Many better choices in the Fairfield county market. read more
