I just bought some sweatpants from Dick's sporting goods. More than one time took him in to have them clean. They were lost. I received someone else's pants. I had to wait three weeks mind you I pay to get the clothes out of the cleaners so I pay for a pair of black pants to be clean Never received the pants paid $109 for the pants. Both of my experiences at SIR Charles Cleaners have turned out horrible. First experience- over a year ago, I took a pair of leather pants to get repaired. Once I returned home and tried them on I noticed they took something -I don't know what!? something with heat or heavy stream to the side of the leather pants, maybe they tried to steam the seam and it was too hot. Well they ruined my pants. Filed my claim, they settled. Okay. Things happen. Moved on. Secondly, over the summer I took in a new satin top to have it professionally steamed pressed. Picked up the blouse. It's wrapped in plastic, they are only pressing, right?! I felt no need to take it out the plastic. Actually, it didn't cross my mind. My big mistake! I just pulled the blouse out to wear this up coming weekend. What the hell, two huge spots on my new blouse that I have nvr worn. This is NOT the Sir Charles Cleaners from years ago. I do not recommend Sir Charles Cleaners on Slauson nor will I ever give them my business again. They are incompetent and have little knowledge about fabrics. Have no idea how they stay in business. I live a half a mile away and would love to give them my business. I've attempted to get a simple alteration on a pair of jeans four different times. Every time I am told that the seamstress is "on break." When will she be back? The owner never knows. On top of that the guy is rude and the prices are high. My husband & I have been going (since 1995) to this cleaners since before this last change of ownership. However over the past year or so, the service has been well below standard. This last visit was the straw that broke the camel's back. Took a white dress to be cleaned, thank God I took a pic of before I dropped it off. Went to pick it up & it had a stains on the front of it. The owner refused to own up too it & refused to provide any adjustments or compensation. Had a terrible attitude to the point where my husband was going to leave $78 worth of cleaning, but after mentioning to her, do I have to look for another cleaners, she said, want to take your stuff back now. Im really surprised to see such low reviews. Im now 3 years into using Sir Charles and have had zero issues. I bring in loads of button downs shirts for work every other week or so and have never had any issues. My wife alternates between this place and another place close to her work, and also had no issues. I cant say it's anything more than what Id expect from a dry cleaner, but its certainly not less. I've tried Sir Charles four times now and three of them were poor experiences. I would not trust them with anything needing special care and barely with my most basic dry clean items. They tore a well-sewn belt appliqué off my wedding dress and did not get stains out of the hem. They attempted to clean a vintage dress and tore massive holes in the fabric rendering it unwearable (they should have been more forthcoming about their abilities). They could not get a small oil stain out of a cotton coat despite pointing it out for special attention. I'm bummed because their location is so convenient, but I won't be back and wouldn't recommend them. read more

I had been coming to this dry cleaner for over five years and was sad to see Jane go, but thought I'd give the new owners a try. Never again! The quality of cleaning was the same, but the prices were not! The prices were much much higher, though the new owner claimed they were the same. $39.95 for three dresses that the new owner marked as "silk" when two of them were cotton. No thank you! My husband and I have been customers of Sir Charles over 25 years. The last owners prior to October 2018 did a great job because you didn't even know that they weren't the same as the prior owners in 2014 (Jane). Now moving forward to 2019 I noticed Feb 2019 that it was a totally different crew so I inquired if they were the same owners and I informed that they had bought Sir Charles several months prior but we had no clue because every time we took our clothes there the previous owners were still present, I guess to show the new owners how things worked so we weren't aware that it had been sold. Well I took a chance gave them mine and my husband's clothes anyway and it came out horrible. I had a button missing on the front of my suit that I knew about and one was left on the suit. I planned on sewing it back on once they cleaned my suit. They took the liberty of taking off the button that was left on my suit without asking me and replaced it with some cheap button on my $189 Tahari suit that does not match the buttons on the sleeves of my suit a totally mix match. Also, the buttons they replaced were not in line with the button holds so that the front of the suit bunches up. The suit smells like chemicals and it doesn't feel as soft and conditioned as the previous owner's work. My husband's shirts are not iron correctly and his suit was not cleaned in the fashion that he's used to from the previous Sir Charles owners. So now I have a suit with mix match buttons diminishing the value of my suit. I won't be surprised if this new Sir Charles close down because this new group has no clue on how to do good cleaning and I might add that another one of my black Tahari expensive suit now has a shine to it that shouldn't be there because of there pressing technique. I took seven items in for cleaning and alterations. 3 tops 2 for cleaning and 1 top for cleaning and alterations along with 4 long summer sun dresses. 1 dress was brand new still with tag on needed alterations, which I asked for hemming and tapering. This dress was returned with just hemming. I had 1 dress just cleaned and 2 dresses clean and hemmed, one of these dresses was not hemmed. I paid $136.70 so of course when I discovered that one dress had not been hemmed a few days after receiving them back. I thought there would not be any issue in bringing this to their attention which I quickly found out that good customer service is not important to the new owners. She questioned what I was saying like I was trying to get a free alteration or something. She remembered my other dresses but not this one which was very noteworthy. Another customer in the store even ask me where I got it from while I was explaining to the owner. The owner then ask me to bring all the items back so she could see which I ran home and did, just to come back and receive the same treatment as she stared at the hem that had not been done, which she had already acknowledged before she sent me home to retrieve my other clothes. After about five minutes of this nonsense I just told her never mind don't even worry about it , and that I just wanted to bring it to their attention as I gathered my clothing to leave. So I guess they got over on me because It cost me $35.95 to have this one cotton sundress cleaned. I live in View Park which there business is in a very convenient location but they lack good customer service, common courtesy and their prices are too HIGH.
