First walking in, we were seated immediately! The ambiance was very loud, and hard for servers to hear us. It's super aesthetically pleasing as they cook a cafe inspo and turned it into a restaurant. It took us a minute to order, but when we did she didn't put down the beer I ordered. No problem, maybe they forgot to bring it out. After mentioning it, she said I never ordered one and I asked if I could order one then. Food came out in a timely manner, and was really good! Problem was that while my friend and I were eating, the server kept coming to clear our plates and I told her we were still using the plates and the spices. She came back 10 minutes later asking if we wanted a box. We were actively eating still and told her so. 15 minutes later she came back again asking us if we wanted boxes. Mind you this is a wednesday night and they were fairly busy, but there was at least 3 tables open throughout the night. We told her we were still eating, and we thought maybe they were closing soon but it was only 8:30. Then again she came back asking if we wanted boxes so we accepted to pack when we were done. and then while we were still eating, she came and asked us if we wanted the check. at this point we picked up she was trying to boot us so we inclined and continued to eat. Mosaic is pretty good with their local and military discount, so we asked if they accepted it, and she gave us a disgusted look and said no, we don't do that here. After we paid the bill she kept hovering around our table as we continued to eat and started picking up the spices as we were actively using it but didn't mind to take the empty glassware. at the point we were uncomfortable so we stopped eating and packed it up to leave. I would say Neisha Thai and Sisters Thai are a very close to being tied as my favorite Thai restaurant! My favorite dishes are the Lab Na noodles, drunken noodles and of course the Pad Thai noodles...... and pretty much everything on their menu lol My advice would be to call before going because they usually have a long wait time around rush hour! read more

Fav Thai spot in the DC area! Amazing drink and menu selection. Few food favorites are Drunken Noodles, Spicy Crispy Chicken, Red Curry, and Spring Roll! Thai ice tea is always bomb!!! Including more of their cocktails, personally fav right now is the New Tamarind Drink FYI: Always put down your name on the list to grab a table early otherwise you will have to wait upto an hour sometimes. I will definitely be coming back! The pad thai was so good; the sauce was perfectly sweet and not overwhelming. The noodles were soft but chewy, and the tofu was nicely crispy. However, the tofu was on the drier side. I kind of wish they gave me a lime wedge to make the dish a bit tangier, but it was still delicious overall. There are a few Sisters Thai locations and this one's in the Mosaic District. There's a huge free parking lot for the shopping complex. I came on a Saturday night and had to wait about 15min for a table of 2. There's normally a wait time since there's not a whole ton of seating and tables for larger parties. I wouldn't call it family friendly and the overall ambiance is more suited for adults and matches that of the Mosaic District. The interior is really eccentric and consists of a hodge-podge of different decor. I got the Som Tum Set ($18) which includes papaya salad, grilled chicken, and sticky rice. I loved the intentionality behind this set and how each of the three items complement one another. The grilled chicken was really tender and I loved the sweet flavor it had. The papaya salad cut through the sweetness of the dish while the sticky rice added a different texture. TLDR: Some of the most delicious and flavorful Thai food I've ever had. The restaurant gives off really fun vibes. Only downside is the size of the restaurant and the wait time. read more

Revisited Sisters Thai with a party of 4 on a Friday night. One of our group claimed they hadn't had Thai food before and we were already in the area so it made enough sense. We arrived around prime dinner time and asked to be put on the waitlist; probably waited no more than 20 minutes before they called to let us know our table was ready, though your experience may differ. Opted this time for Tom Yum Soup w/ chicken (not pictured) as an appetizer, and Pad Thai w/ chicken and Green Curry as our entrees. The flavor profile for their dishes is still not quite where I expect it's going to be for a Thai restaurant, but I get it, they're catering to a different crowd; and the Pad Thai was still solid if not a little sweeter than I'm used to. I only tried a few spoonfuls if the Green Curry and rice but actually found myself liking it a smidge more than the Pad Thai. After 30 minutes passed by, I mentioned how not once they came to check up on us or pore water into our glasses. We were greeted and had our orders taken efficiently as they normally do. Other than 1 order, our group gestured to the Lunch Specials section as we ordered. When we asked, we were loudly explained to (as if to tell her colleagues that no mistake was made) that she were entered to the system as 'Dinner' orders because we confirmed we wanted the larger portion. Now, the dissatisfaction here is on how the problem was handled. #1. we did not receive dinner portions; we are return customers who been here for dinner, and the served 'dinner' vs. the 'lunch special' portion was identical. #2. no manager come to listen and manage the relationship. having another waitress thanking us for the 'complaint' and that it was relayed to the manager is not how to do it. #3. maybe they adjusted the price? There's so much to love about Sister's Thai. The decor alone stops you dead in your tracks and makes you feel like you've been transported to somewhere else completely. I love how warm, welcoming and eclectic the vibe is inside of the restaurant-- even the bathrooms are over the top in just the right way! (Yes, I am talking about the bathrooms in this restaurant... for additional details, see photos! I'm not kidding.) I have been to most of the Sister's Thai locations in DMV area. At each, the service is quick and friendly. This was also the case at the Mosaic location! Even when the wrong dish was brought to our table, the accident was remedied quickly and with a smile. The food here is always delicious-- lots of flavor and a strong level of spice (for those of us who grew up in South East Asia). I highly recommend the crispy Wontons and Thai iced coffee. I love the details that exist in this restaurant. They have thought of everything-- everywhere you look are small touches that make this place unique and fun. This particular Sisters Thai is situated in the trendy Mosaic District and somewhat away from the main plaza. As others have noted, the interior is meant to evoke ethos of eating in a friend's library/study with shelves stacked with books. I will also note that with the concrete floors and high ceilings, it does get quite loud. When it comes to Thai food, I mainly hope for flavors that are bold, spicy, and not overly sweet. The chefs at Sister's Thai checks all three of those boxes. First time to a new Thai place, I usually order Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai to see how the kitchen handles these two standards. The Pad Thai had large shrimps that were wok fried just enough so that they weren't rubbery. The sauce coating the noodles also wasn't too sweet and I did like the amount of veggies and crushed peanuts the Pad Thai was served with. Drunken noodles were pretty good. Wide rice noodles were cooked nicely and unlike at some Thai joints, they weren't skimpy with the meat (pork in this instance). Some heat (but not overpowering) from the diced chili peppers with a refreshing crunch from the flash fried basil leaves. Very solid dish. Sisters Thai has been around since 2012, which in and of itself, is an accomplishment since most restaurants will fail within the first 2 years. After 700+ reviews, here is all you need to know about Sister's Thai. The family that runs this location as well as their outpost in University Drive in Fairfax, has come up with a formula of ambiance, value, and great Thai cuisine to win a loyal clientele. Desserts and drinks never disappoint as well. I enjoy their sweets and drinks, because its not too sweet and enjoyable to eat/drink. Can never go wrong with any of their options! Though, I do think it is a bit overpriced for the size of cake you get. My friend and I shared a cake for $6 dollars! Although, it was really good, the portion was small! Came here for some quick take out on Christmas Eve and it was one of the last places that was open! There was plenty of curbside parking right in front of the restaurant so no issues getting there. We ordered online and got Donald rolls, chicken Pad See Ew, and chicken Panang Curry (medium spicy). Took about 30 minutes but the staff were very friendly. Had to wait a little to eat but it traveled well mostly. The Donald rolls were good, pretty saucy and had a lot of duck in them. The Panang curry really wasn't too spicy so might need to go up another level heat wise. There was a lot of chicken though, wish there was more rice. Not too different than other Thai curries I've had. My girlfriend liked the Pad See Ew, huge serving and it lasted another meal. Wasn't really the same the next day though. Each dish sounded so amazing, it took helpful input from our very friendly waitress to decided. We ordered the steamed dumplings appetizer, the Yen-Ta-Fo, and a Kaw Obb. While we waited, there was so much to take in. The decor is random, delightful, and sparks nostalgia conversations. They also let me play the piano in the front :) The food was absolutely delicious. Bold flavor profiles, unique pairings of ingredients, it was worth the price. The Kaw Obb we ordered at medium spice, but it was too light, wed go bolder spice next time. We sent the steak back, but when they brought it back out to us it was clear it had been microwaved - along with the rice, which came back dry as a bone.
