First time eating here, and was surprised with how big the space is. We ordered our food and were seated right after, we had 3 different servers. The first one was for the herb plate, second for the drinks, and third for the bowl. The service was okay the first two servers were just slamming things on the table lol like why is everyone slamming things on the table today?! but the person who was also the cashier that brought our bowls *thankfully* didn't slam the bowl! I got a #12 and the meat was pretty hefty, and the tripe was thick, pretty good broth! I also got a coconut juice which was really refreshing. My cousin got a #16 had 3 bones and a soymilk, however they were disappointed since the soymilk came in a can (yee's brand) and it was $5 when you can buy it from the store for like $2 lol. My first time visiting this restaurant and it was pretty good for being in a small college town where food is mediocre to a captive audience. You order first and then they will assign a table to you. We ordered brisket steak pho with thin noodles and ribeye and flank steak with thin noodles. The broth is delicious and the meat was soft. I did not like that the flank and brisket was thick cuts of meat so quite chewy. But the broth was delicious and I really enjoyed the complimentary pickled onions. I think it must be sweet vinegar brine. Super great as a condiment! I also loved that they had pickled jalapeños on the table. I usually like to eat those with Thai food so that was a nice surprise. It was interesting that they had steamed or blanched the bean sprouts. Initially I was turned off by this as I have always had pho with fresh crispy sprouts but actually it didn't change the texture of the sprouts much. We came here three times, each time bringing our dog in a stroller or carrier. During the first two visits, we had to argue that sitting outside in 100°F heat was dangerous for our pet, and eventually they allowed us to dine indoors. However, on the third visit, they suddenly refused to let us inside. So are the rules just made up and changed whenever they want? Yummy pho addition to downtown Davis! We were able to get a table for dinner immediately, and you order at the counter before sitting. They bring out the food super quickly. I loved the beef rib pho; there were three huge meaty ribs that tasted super rich and made the broth delicious - so worth the price! The combination pho was good too; the broth is on the lighter side which is nice if you prefer a fresher tasting light broth. The staff was quite attentive and made sure to let us know we could ask for more bean sprout/jalapeño sides if we wanted. Hot green tea is free too (self serve)! Service is great, pleasant and quick whether it's pickup or eat in, we've been coming here since they opened for several years so we've tried most varieties of soup. We narrowed it down to this order as our favorites: Saigon Pho with fresh noodles with everything, Gio Chao Quay (fried donut), and HK tea or hazelnut viet coffee. The last few times we went, including this visit, they put a brisket in there that is way too fatty and hard to chew, so we just take it out. Brisket should definitely melt in your mouth and barely chew, and not hurt your mouth trying to chew so hard. Considering the price per a bowl you could give a few real brisket like in the past or just eliminate and put another meat option in there. So until that time I will just replace it next time with more flank steak or tripe. Also last time we ordered the hazelnut coffee it was great but this time it just tasted like regular and after checking with the waitress who added the hazelnut, she assured us it was in there. If it was whoever made it before definitely made it better, because it was delicious in the past. We use to crave that drink so we were looking forward to it, but was disappointed. Don't get me wrong regular viet coffee was better than other versions in Davis, but hazelnut use to top that in my opinion. I only took off one star because this is still the best pho in Davis, broth is always flavorful, toppings and noodles great, fried donut is crispy but I was disappointed in only a few things if they fix that definitely will update my review. Food comes fast and it's delicious. My go to place in davis for Pho. Please remember they ONLY serve beef pho here, it's what they're known for and that's how they make it so well! It's really annoying standing behind someone asking for things clearly not on the menu: "do you have chicken pho? What about egg noodle? How about eggrolls?" C'mon! We went here on a Wednesday during lunch. Saw a lot of locals and, of course, college kids as expected. While the menu is limited, I have to say the Pho was delicious. They serve large bowls of beef Pho (no chicken). Go with the fresh noodles. They were superb. We also ordered a beef bone which is really what makes this place unique. It had plenty of tender meat and tendon which my wife loved. The pho broth was rich but, not overly salty. We also had a side of oxtail which was flavorful and super tender. I heard good things about Sit Lo Saigon before coming so I decided to make the trek downtown and give it a try. I went on a Tuesday around 12/1 pm and was seated immediately as I came solo. You walk in and order at the front before getting seated, so it may be a good idea to figure out what you want beforehand. It's a pho place so the short and concise menu focuses on pho without much deviation besides the few add ons and drink options. I decided to go with the Saigon pho which has beef meatballs, tendon, tripe and more. If you dine in you can also ask for the scallion oil/nuoc beo so of course I got some. My order came out promptly after I was seated and the portion was very generous (there weren't any different size options). They really do not skimp out on the protein here so for the price, I think it's worth it. I added all the fixings to my pho including onions, bean sprouts, thai basil, and lime before digging in. The broth was flavorful and savory, but I think the only downside to my meal was that I found the broth to be a tad sweet. I would've liked it more if the sweetness was toned down, but overall I can't complain because I polished my bowl off! It was such a nice pick-me up meal in the chilly weather. I would definitely recommend trying this spot, especially if you're ever craving pho in Davis because I feel like the selection of good pho spots around here is far and few. read more

The food overall was great! We were seated quickly and the self serve water and tea station was convenient. I ordered the premium pho which includes oxtail short rib and tendon. I loved the tendon and the short rib. The short rib in particular was very tender and the broth overall was fairly good as well. The only reason for knocking down a star was that the oxtail had too much fat and not very much meat. 2 of the people I went with ordered the oxtail pho which was just oxtail and they also had a lot of pieces with excessive fat. Would've been nice to have it trimmed or potentially more meatier pieces but outside of that after trimming the fat the oxtail was delicious as well. Would've definitely recommend! read more

First time at Sit Lo Saigon today (of either of their locations), but I was impressed! I knew it was recently new to Davis but wasn't quite sure where it was. I was surprised to find it next to the old Davis Regal theater where another Asian restaurant used to be - its name escapes me but I believe the former restaurant used to be there for quite some time! I arrived around noon today and was greeted by an employee at the front counter/cash register. It looks like they do pick up/to go orders from there, and they also have the menu available. Almost all options were pho, which doesn't seem weather appropriate for the 107+ weather we're having this weekend, but the day was going and not quite that hot yet and the restaurant was cool and not too crowded. I looked over the menu above the front counter and went for the Pho Chin, Bo Vien which is their classic pho with meatballs and brisket. I also ordered a Diet Coke, paid, and the employee directed me to table number 5, which was a two-top in the middle of the restaurant. Almost immediately after sitting down, another employee brought me a plate of veggies (onion, jalapeño, Thai basil, and bean sprouts) and the original employee that helped me out brought over a canned Diet Coke with a glass of ice. Very shortly after, my pho came out from the kitchen. Fast service! The bowl was big and hand a lot of meat in it. I snapped a pic and added all of the veggies from the veggie plate to my pho. There were also condiments including sauces, chili paste, black peppercorn, and pickled veggies on the table. I took a few slurps, as is, and then added some hot sauce into the broth to spice things up. The meatballs were the winner to me, here. Plentiful, super flavorful, and all around just a great addition to pho. I'd definitely get another soup with those. The pho broth was also flavorful, as is, but I appreciated the hot sauce to add, as needed. The meal was a big one and while I ate all of the meat, noodles, and veggies, I was unable to finish all of the broth. I think this speaks to the portion sizes here! From there, I finished up and was on my way! The whole experience was just about 25 minutes and most of that went to me eating my pho, which is not a quick meal to eat.
