I'd like to let you know about my rental at Denver Airport. I booked the reservation 2 months in advance for a premium car Mercedes CLK. I paid in full and was charged. When we picked up the car this afternoon I was told my credit card had the debit logo so I needed to be downgraded since they wouldn't rent me a premium car. This was the whole point of using your company. One a scale of 1 to 10 this experience is a 0. They made me take a beat up Toyota Carrola. Is this a joke? They said it would be $5 a day cheaper than the Mercedes. I want to make sure you know about this. It ruined our trip. I'll be posting on every site possible to let people know about the bait and switch and horrible service. The carolla was so beat up we had to video the outside with a rep. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I am starting to think this company is a huge SCAM. First of all, you cannot speak to anyone to resolve issues. We had the EXACT same experience as everyone else leaving reviews about the unknown huge deposit and being told your car was brand new, yet finding issues with them. So, we paid it, because you have no choice once they have you in that vulnerable position at the counter, after waiting for 30+ minutes in line. Our issue has started now that it's time to charge us for our rental. As of yesterday, they charged my card TWICE for the same amount and same transaction. I call the number to the Denver office and explain the issue. The girl tells me she only shows ONE charge and I need to email customer service with screenshots and they will reach out by email when there is resolution. Well, I wake up today and check my Capitol One account and there is a THIRD CHARGE for the same transaction and same amount with yesterday's date. So, of course I screenshot and email again with no way to speak to an actual person. I guess I am going to have to call Capital One and file fraudulent charges on them if they aren't going to rectify the situation. I do not recommend this company at all, regardless of how nice the vehicles they rent are. My husband travels Monday-Friday every single week and he deals with rental car companies constantly but we thought we'd try this company because it rented such nice vehicles at such a reasonable rate. Well, the old cliche of you get what you pay for is seriously at play with this company. It's starting to appear that they have this fleet of expensive vehicles to rent at a lower cost because they are literally stealing money out of people's credit card accounts. COME ON SIXT...really? **EDIT** The VERY next day I checked my account to see if the charges had been removed and guess what? They charged my card a THIRD time for the same transaction and still have not responded. I called my credit card company to dispute the charges. RUN AWAY FROM SIXT RENT A CAR. THEY ARE THIEVES. **SECOND EDIT 11/21/18** Someone finally responded day before yesterday via email and, of course, apologized. As of today, I check my statement and only ONE of the TWO duplicate charges has been removed. There is still an extra charge for the same amount on my credit card. I never imagined dealing with a car rental company would be so difficult. BE VERY CAUTIOUS BEFORE CHOOSING TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. While there were long-ish waits for the shuttle and intake process, the staff were all excellent. Super friendly greeter in the check-in offices. Solomon checking my documents on the way out made sure that I had an ice scraper, replacing the broken one in the car. Steve checked me in efficiently and with great humor. While I may be counting unhatched chickens as I haven't gotten my deposit back, my wife and I had a pleasantly uneventful experience. It's true the shuttle area can be tricky to find but the driver was very courteous. Upon arriving at the lot we did have a 15-20 minute wait but honestly I expect that everywhere. For our wait we received a generous complimentary upgrade. The vehicle functioned perfectly for the duration of the trip. At drop off, the lady did a quick walk around, checked mileage, took the keys, gave us the green light and we jumped a waiting shuttle to the terminal. We wouldn't hesitate to book through sixt again. To those of you who had problems: 1) weather happens, this will obviously affect their schedule, 2) it's 2019, no one books a car at the desk. Of course the selection and rates will be worse, and 3) again, it's 2019, use the camera on your phone. This should be common knowledge regardless of what you're renting, from folding chairs to a uhaul to a personal rental car. Document every tiny paint chip and it'll be a lot easier to dispute damage fees. Also, this location allows you to do your own walk around and declare any preexisting damages. read more

This place took care of us. My husband and I traveled for the first time with our baby (7 months) and the had shuttles pick us up right when we landed. Ask for Michale! He took care of us and had amazing customer services. He was honest and made sure to answer all our questions and made us feel so welcomed when we arrived! I thought bait and switches were illegal!? Was told that I was too tall for the "mystery car" they assigned me and was also told that I would not be able to use the assigned car because it was not 4WD/AWD and the roads I would be traveling on had 4WD/Chain restrictions (which they did not at the time of the rental). I was then charged an additional $22 a day in order to get a car that would be suitable to my needs (BMW X4). My initial price for a "mystery luxury car" was $30/day before the additional $22/day charge was added. I ended up paying $52/day for the X4, when the going rate for that same car, during that same time frame was $42/day. I filed a complaint via the website and have yet to receive a reply, and filed a complaint via the hotline and was told they would be unable to help at that time. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially considering the duration of my rental (8 days). What started as a gift to my wife for our anniversary turned into a disaster thanks to Sixt... read more

I was sent a receipt saying that I returned the car at 10:33pm, but my flight time is 8:30pm. I was on the flight at 10:33pm. Sixt is the very new guy at DIA and you can tell. I fee they deserve a fair review for others considering Sixt. This is a German company that is new in the US. I used them at MSP recently and had a good experience. I travel 100% and have driven so many rental cars. I tend to book the cheapest through American Express travel and the company always varies. Their rates were competitive and I chose them because of the good experience at MSP. The first impression is the shuttle service. It wasn't good and that's why I rated four stars instead of five. I know they are working on this but they have no signage at the airport. I walked out of baggage claim with my three bags and I looked for the signage and there was none. I walked down the islands and to the other end. Nothing. I was pissed because I'd just flown and had three bags and it was annoying. I called and got a recording that said island four. At an airport as big as DIA, you shouldn't have to call. Island four is the whole middle island. Finally, a driver from Alamo saw me looking around and asked if I was looking for Sixt and told me it was the very first section. Sad that the Alamo guy has to tell me this. Fortunately, as soon as I lugged all my bags there, the shuttle pulled up. Call me spoiled but I expect the driver to help me with my bags. I tip well. The woman did not get up immediately so I started lugging my items up the stairs. The woman did get up and helped with a duffle bag and I lugged my last 50lb bag. By the time I sat down, I was really annoyed and hot. The shuttle was hot. She had the AC off. Ugh. But things got better. The location is a little farther down the road and around the corner than the other major companies. One reviewer said it was 25 minutes from the airport. Are you nuts? It's barely ten minutes. You drive past the other companies a few miles and turn on 48th. It is next door to Park DIA, the longer term parking area. The location is more of a trailer, apparently they will be moving next door. Although it was a trailer, it was nice and neat and modern inside and the employees wear suits. I think it's a little overkill but it looked nice. I booked a full size car and was given a Chrysler 300. It was clean and was just fine. One thing l liked about Sixt at MSP and DIA was the fleet. The cars all were nice and new. My car had 1800 miles on it. Evan P didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff. I feel the process could have been quicker as we travelers really want to get in and out. Evan did sell me on the toll program, after I asked about it. I knew I'd be going through a few tolls and I felt it was worth it. I thought he was fine. I returned the vehicle the night before I was supposed to because my flight is at 530am. I really don't want to have to deal with getting there at 330am and figuring out the shuttle situation. FANTASTIC! I heard good things about Sixt from my sister who used them in Europe. I had a last minute business trip and decided to give them a whirl and I'm sure glad I did! I booked both with Hertz and Sixt as I wasn't sure how long their shuttle wait would be. When I left the terminal I saw both companies' vans waiting. I decided to jump on the Sixt bus as it was empty. The driver was friendly, offered me directions to get back to the facility quickly and helped with my bags. The fellow at the counter (forgot his name unfortunately) was very courteous, helpful and got me water to drink while I waited. He did pitch the extra insurance but wasn't pushy about it at all. For a last minute rental the rate was VERY reasonable. Ended up with a Chevy Malibu (Meh, but I only booked a standard car). Car had about 10K on the odometer but was VERY clean upon pickup! Drop off was a breeze and shuttle back to the airport was prompt. The wife and I are going to Vegas tomorrow and I'm looking forward to picking up my C Class at Sixt in the morning. read more

Very dissapointed in this place and will not use them again. I reserved a Mercedes and was given a Volvo. Typical Bait and Switch. When I got to my destination 60 miles away the car wouldn't start. I called the DIA Location with the number they agent hand wrote on my rental agreement, they didn't answer so I left a message. They never called back. I called the 800 number they told me to go to store and replace the battery in the key fob! When we returned the car and jumped in the shuttle it was completley full! No social distancing. WARNING: AVIOD AT ALL COSTS I needed to cancel a reservation and neither the website nor the app would accept my reservation number as valid. And it's almost impossible to get a human on the phone. I tried several options over the course of half an hour, ultimately getting through on the "make a reservation" option. I was informed by the agent that if I cancelled a pre-paid reservation I was subject to a charge equal to 3 days rental. Really???? That's close to $400 to cancel my reservation. This company is really awful. They claim I scratched two separate rentals (which didn't happen), and I ended up paying an extra $1700 ! I rent cars all the time and have never had a bad experience with another company. I'm writing a review, maybe for the first time ever because of having such a terrible experience. I rented cars from Sixt twice in the last year and both times they claimed I scratched the car and charged me for it. It was basically my word against theirs and I had no choice but to pay it. The first time I thought maybe it did get scratched and I just didn't realize it, but on the second one I realized this is a total scam! I seriously can't believe what a rip-off this was. My experience at Sixt at Denver was less than subpar. I've rented cars before and will not be going back. Thought I'd give it a try versus Avis and Enterprise which I've rented from before. Their so called "deals" will end up costing you more than what they advertised (both in cost and time), so do not be swayed by the BS they state. I had my spouse pay for it in full ahead of time online to be more convenient and I've done this before for business trips as well. Thought it was a great deal for 2 days. As soon as I got to one of the staff after waiting a very very long time in line with my kid in tow, he tells me that the payment online WITH a confirmation number even was no good. And the liability insurance I also paid for online was not compatible with Sixt car rentals. Really??!! Online paid was $76 for two days, great deal I thought. But I was wrong...Apparently I needed the SAME physical credit card that was used and since my husband (who booked and paid for online) was not present, I had to pay for an entirely new transaction. I've never had to do that when my boss paid for the rental online m, ahead of time. Why the new rules, Sixt?? Somehow I got charged a lot more, convinced I needed to pay for express tolls (which I never came across) for an additional charge and THEIR approved liability insurance for even more added expense. I ended up paying double than my online purchase, charged around $144 altogether!! I've never had to go through such a hassle to rent a car and the whole experience made me cringe at all the hidden and weasely way they do things. I had a wonderful experience with Sixt at Denver Airport. I was a bit nervous after reading mixed reviews, however, start to finish everything was great. Sixt sent great instructions about finding the shuttle which was on time and quickly got me to the rental office. There were minimal lines and I was upgraded to a BMW X7 with only 4000 miles for a very low cost. The return went just as smooth during a busy holiday travel week and the shuttle quickly delivered us to our termina. I will definitely use Sixt anytime I am in Denver. read more

This is specifically for Alicia at DEN's Sixt location, who was so warm, friendly, delightful, efficient & helpful that we wondered if we were getting the other reviewer's contact high ;) We've been flying into DEN a lot lately, and after being screwed by ACE to the tune of $250 for a $7 toll charge (which we paid!) & being dolefully informed by Hertz that they have NO cars despite our prepaid reservation AND their bright flashing "Cars Available" sign, Alicia simply led us to a line of clean fresh new cars & let us choose! Long story short; I would not ever recommend SIXT to anyone. I read the reviews online before making the decision to go with the lesser-known car rental company for my trip to CO. Most of the reviews were saying things such as not getting the car you picked, being downgraded without a discount, and the worst, trying to communicate with a human is impossible due to their automated system which is not helpful. Regardless of all of this, I decided to go with SIXT and give them an honest chance. That was a mistake. My first issue with the company is its software systems and operations as a whole. I booked a Jeep Grand Cherokee at the beginning of April, while I won't disclose amounts, I will say it was not a small purchase. I knew there was an opportunity that I wouldn't be put in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and that was confirmed 2 days prior to my trip to CO when they downgraded me to a Chevy Blazer which I was fine with if it was the car they were to put me in. However, upon arriving in CO and selecting the exact make and model of the rental, both a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Chevy Blazer were available and they tried to get me to go with a Toyota Highlander. I voiced my displeasure with the agent at which he kept saying it was the same as Hertz and Avis. The altercation with the agent led to him declining to service me. After he declined our service for which I had prepaid a month in advance, I did go to Hertz where they were able to put me in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are a couple of things that really bug me regarding this situation. 1.) The agent claims you don't get the car you requested on the app to due availability (first come first serve)... I booked this rental a month ago, is that not a priority? 2.) If you aren't able to put a customer in their requested rental, communicate that with them, and if you aren't able to put them in that replacement car, COMMUNICATE THAT TO THEM! Especially because the customer is probably traveling and it would be helpful. I was duped two times by this company, saying they were going to put me in these cars and they straight up lied. Never. Ever will I recommend this company to ANYONE. To add insult to injury, they called the day after, unknowing that they didn't lend me a vehicle and the lady on the phone didn't even want to hear my story. Arrived at Denver airport we reserved a Range Rover velar or " similar class" we arrived and they said we got contracted to a Volvo. So fine. Stop 4 wheels drive so we just let it be. And the rep Jessica seem super nice and told us we can upgrade if a Range Rover then up and they promised to call because we were willing to come back to switch out the car. We have a Range Rover hse at home so we feel safer to drive to aspen ina. Car we know vs the Volvo. Went to our car it was in terrible condition dirty, dent on side door and scratch i mean bad scratches not just a little. A windshield wipers was not properly working. Went back in happened to get help by Andrew the manager he's super nice also and told us he will follow up and the car is not acceptable conditions. Anyway all lips service. We waited 24 hrs and still no call or emails as promised. Bottom line go with hertz or bigger rental car that will give you a save functional car. I should have Read reviews before renting. This was our first time and will be our last. Would not recommend. No quality of service in maintaining their car. Giving families unsafe cars when they know all the family is making that dangerous drive to Aspen. They don't care about people's lives at all. Somebody should report them to BBB and this should be known. One more important thing. The car doesn't even looked like it was clean. At hertz u get a sticker telling u it is clean and sanitized. This looks straight up dirty and has not been sanitizer. I regret booking them so much but it was too late for us to be able to get another suv for the weekend. Crooks! Maybe the most dishonest and difficult company I've ever dealt with. When I arrived at pickup, they told me they didn't have the car I reserved, or any other cars unless I was willing to pay several hundred dollars more for an "upgrade" to a smaller car (for my family of 5). Two months after my two day rental, I received a notice that Sixt was charging my credit card over $1000 for "damage" that I had supposedly done. Yes, they're cheap but so many hidden charges not explained up front. They charge $9/gallon if you are not topped off when you return, and there isn't a gas station even close to their location in the middle of no where. They ask if you want a toll pass but don't explain that if you don't get one from them, they will charge you the toll fee plus an extra $5/toll administrative fee. Terrible customer service when you call the 800 number, which also hangs up on you 4-5 times before you even get through. First time renting from Sixt and last time, all I can say is it's not worth it if you're trying to save a little money. read more

Sixt asked me to "pre-check in" with my personal information after booking this car. What was the purpose? I still had to wait in line for 45 minutes and then was told that the Mercedes c- class that I booked was only an example, and that they had a nice, Chrysler available for me. Whoa - bait and switch? How should I have known that Chrysler and Mercedes are in the same rate class, when the site says "or Volvo ..." but NOTHING about Chrysler. I finally got my car - out of state - and it not only had less gas in it than they said it did, but there was a huge dent in the kicker panel underneath the back door. This car had less than 2000 miles on it and was dirty inside, napkins, wrappers, had not been washed and had been smoked in. Plus the dent, which wasn't disclosed. For the value, there is no difference - I'll go back to the "other guys" - at least there when you book a luxury car, you get one and it is in superior condition. read more

I recently had to take a trip to Denver say my farewells before they took my young 24 year old nice off life support. I literally had only less than an hour to make it from the rental car place to the hospital. It started with the driver - an older gentleman - didn't catch his name, but I am so grateful to him. He called ahead so I could move ahead of any line (there wasn't one), but it was a very nice gesture of kindness. I was then helped by Jessica L. who was heaven sent also - and noticed I was in distress. She grabbed my phone and typed in the hospital in my GPS for me and I was able to get in the car within about 7 minutes. My experience here was nothing but over the top with true kindness and professionalism. They both went above and beyond. Thank you. read more

I arrived at 10PM ish to checkout a car. I was given keys and pointed out the side door to find my car. At the time it was a freezing rain with 20MPH winds. 20 minutes later I came back in soaking wet and given directions to my car. I returned the car an hour before they opened and took the tram to the airport. Upon arriving at the airport I realized I had left a portfolio in the car with 8mportant notes on it. I tried calling after they had opened and reached a call center overseas. I explained I needed the direct number to the rental agency to get my notebook. They told there wasn't a direct number l I had to go online and fill out a list item form. While waiting for my plane I was able to track down a number for a Sixt office in downtown Denver, who then gave me a number for the airport office. Finally I was able to reach to office directly about an hour after they openned. I told him about my lost item was told that their lost and found guy was not in yet and there was nothing he could do. HE LITERALLY ONLY HAD TO POKE HIS HEAD OUT THE DOOR 5 FEET TO HIS LEFT AND LOOK IN THE CAR PARKED NEXT TO IT TO SEE MY PORTFOLIO!!!! He refused and hung up. My online report turned up nothing, now a week later. Of course. It has been decades since I have had to leave a bad review for anyone. But this operation at the Denver Airport was completely un &$+#ing believable. I travel and rent cars every week, but never again with Sixt. Great experience to the staffs. (especially, Alex and Angelina) Rent Date: 11/30 - 12/5/2018 I was worried of low star-rating and bad reviews before getting to SIXT Dever Airport branch. I arrived DEN at 11:10 PM and waited a shuttle for 30 min but no luck; therefore, I got Lyft because the branch closes at midnight. Because a Lyft driver missed an exit and went to a wrong address, I thought I could not make it. I got the branch after midnight but they were still open and helped their guests. I prepaid the vehicl, GMC Acadia or similar but they rented me Toyota 4Runner. As mentioned on the rental agreement, they hold a deposit of $200 through my credit card. Return process was easy. Inspection took only 2 min and Joe confirmed a status of vehicle and a gas level. Angelina told me that the hold would be removed within 24-48 hours. (The hold was removed on the next business day.) At this moment, I'm waiting for a credit for Lyft ride from Denver airport to the branch. =Edit (1/1/2019) The branch resolved my request and credited me the Lyft ride. read more

Overall we had a great experience with Sixt at Denver airport. Yes, their location is of airport and you need to take a shuttle, but the same is true for all other rental companies in Denver. Our shuttle got their a minute after we left the airport and when we returned the car their was a shuttle waiting. The driver even helped unload the car and stored away our luggage on the bus. The car was in decent shape, it had about 27,000 miles and the typical rental car scratches, dings and curbed wheels. The pickup process was very nice, the person at the desk was nice and offered us some water. They had the exact car that we booked and we got in the car within 10 minutes. The return process was fast and easy, we just got asked if the e-mail, the receipt will be sent to, was correct. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was that the car wasn't in the best shape and it had worn tires,and I expected more from a rental company that mostly rents out luxury cars. read more

Zero starts for horrible service (Yelp does not allow to post without a start so giving one star here just to post this). We wasted 30 mins at the airport with the shuttle in front of us because the shuttle door wouldn't open. We had to wait for the next shuttle. Then the lady at the office was extremely rude, slammed the keys on the desk (mumbling under her breath) and then gave the wrong directions to the exit. My husband had to park the car in a random parking lot, go back to the office to ask for directions, again wrong directions were given. We had to figure out on our own. I would like to say that the majority of these reviews are false. I just picked up a car from Sixt Denver, and the service was amazing. First I would like to say, stop reserving on 3rd party website. I'm lost certain that most of y'all do that. Reserve directly from their website, create an account. Comment on what you'll like to get as a car under the category that you reserve under. Treat people like you would like to be treated and maybe you'll get the same type of treatment in return. Alex thanks for the service, and honesty. Update: Drop off was extremely smooth. Very upset with my Sixt experience! My wife prepaid online a car reservation on my behalf with her credit card, because we were tight on funds for the week. Getting off the plane and taking a shuttle to the Sixt Rent A Car, I was told I could not rent the car, because my wife wasn't present with me, and I did not have enough money in the bank to afford the car rental and the deposit fear. This was AFTER I called their customer service number the night before to make sure I could use my wife's credit card without her being present, and the lady on the phone told me it would be "no problem" because the car was paid for. Now, Sixt refuses to issue me a refund for my car rental, even though they REFUSED TO LET ME RENT THE CAR RENTAL WE'D PAID FOR WITH A CREDIT CARD. Instead, my wife's credit card was charged for over $300 and yet they refused to give me my rental. I have never been treated so poorly and unfairly as a customer, and I cannot stress enough how negatively this impacted our finances and my experience in Denver as a whole. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. I booked a car through orbitz using Sixt. My flight was late getting into Denver and Sixt was closed so I was unable to pick up the car. Nor could I call them. They charged me the full rental as a noshow!!!!!! Unbelievable. I have always used Avis in the past and never had this type of experience on a noshow. What a cruddy policy. Is 0 stars an option? No? Wow. The whole process and customer service here was absolutely miserable. Alfredo C was the person working with us and he honestly was just terribly rude. They did not have the car (or any car in the same class) that we reserved. Somehow he made it seem like it was OUR fault and had zero accommodations for us. He was huffing and puffing the whole time and completely unwilling to make their error right. I will never ever rent from Sixt again. Spend the extra money and go with Hertz or Enterprise. As a side note, it is way further than the rest of the rental places, as well. read more

Sixt and Hotwire have quite the scam going. Flight comes in at 11:30 at night, Hotwire happily chooses Sixt as the car rental place, even though I'd never heard of them before. We wait on the curb for the shuttle bus for 30 minutes before realizing that unlike virtually every other rental car company, Sixt closed at midnight. All other rental companies run shuttles all night. Never mind the fact the there would be no way to get from the DIA terminal to the rental place in time, even if you had a rare flight (these days) that arrived on schedule. Now neither company will reimburse since they each blame the other guy, and I'm out a few hundred bucks. Pretty slimy since Hotwire knew the schedule and didn't let us choose the company before paying. Live and learn, I'll NEVER do business with either of these shady companies. read more

I had no problems renting a car on their web site. I also like the choices of vehicles they have. When we arrived at the Sixt rental (the Denver airport location in Aurora), Jethro checked us in and was very courteous and helpful. I will be using this car rental again in the future. read more

The fastest car rental experience I have ever had. But that's because I probably came after the rush hour of people getting off flights. It was my first time renting with Sixt and I will for sure be a returning customer. My reservation was for a guaranteed, basically brand new AWD Toyota RAV4 for 11:30 am and there were ZERO lines. Not a single soul in sight. Apparently, Colorado has a fairly new law where all vehicles traveling on I-70 during the winter need to be AWD or have winter/mud tires, so knowing that Sixt could guarantee me an AWD vehicle was nice. No other car rental had this option. My guy Shane was awesome, he was super friendly and straight forward into getting us our car. No issues at all. Some people say they try to upsell you extras but Shane just asked if I needed anything extra, but I politely declined and he was cool with it. The return of the rental was even easier!! Just rolled up the car, parked it, left the keys in the car and that was it. This car rental place is not picky at all and I like how they smoothly operate. Best of all, they have the BEST rates compared to every other car rental. Our group easily saved over $200+. I hope Sixt can continue to keep their rates competitive, it is a big deal for many consumers like me who want to save and want hassle free options. read more

So after I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office regarding their fraudulent car damage scam, all I get from this company is call our number for further information and when I did call yesterday I was hung up on when I told him I was recording the phone calls, and what's interesting is all the phone calls from this rental car company are recorded as indicated in the opening prompt prior to connecting the call, Can someone from this high class company please explain to me Why you are allowed to record phone calls and the consumer who is calling you is not allowed? Why don't you take your scams and your fascist attitudes and business practices and go back to where you came from, these attempts at Fraud And illegal activities will not be tolerated. I encourage anyone who wants to rent from this company to think twice you will be lied to they will attempt to scam you and they are extremely unprofessional. read more
