They charged us $661 weeks after we returned the car for a scratch we didn't do. We didn't see that damage there because we rented the car in the evening and to our knowledge there was no scratch or dents. We've rented from SixT for the past few years with no issues. Unfortunately, our latest rental will be the last. Somehow a SixT employee loaded one of our suitcases in another consumers car. We didn't discover it until later that day. The other customer was 9 hours away (roundtrip). We called SixT customer service and they assured us it would be handled in "24-48" hours. That was 360 hours ago. Even after emailing the Denver office, emailing the corporate office AND attempting to speak with a rep when we turned our rental in...still no follow up. Denver, winter, skiing vacation, Denali SUV from Sixt so that we had room for people and ski equipment...so far so good. Thought I had specified 4wd, but who has ever heard of a 2wd Denali? Yup, they knowingly rented me a 2wd Denali, with summer tires on a day where the weather was blizzard conditions. Didn't figure out the 2wd/4wd situation until I was headed up the mountain and nowhere to turn around. Even with the "snow mode" activated, the car slid sideways, spun tires constantly and was sure we were headed for a ditch. Made it to our hotel, but then couldn't even back out of the parking space because of the tires. Ended up spending $200+ on tire chains. Was the only way we could even move. All of this could have been avoided by the desk dude asking one simple question...Sir, are you sure you don't want 4wd? He knew where we were going. He knew what the weather was. He knew what the vehicle was like. He rented me a potential death trap even still. Will I rent from Sixt again? Maybe. The other parts of the rental process were issue free. I booked a car through Priceline, but had to make a change one month before our planned trip. It was impossible to speak to a human being, and when I finally found an email address and requested a quote for a couple of options, it took customer service two days to respond, and they made changes to my booking without my authorization and at a much higher price than other car rentals! On top of that, they communicated that any change to that new booking would not be refunded! And if I wished to cancel the booking, I would have to pay $100 cancellation fee, even though no cancellation fee was indicated in the original booking! Their in house staff misrepresents pricing and service. They intentionally don't wear name tags and do not provide customers with their names. Bait and switch car company. They show a picture of an awesome car that gets you to rent from them, and then you get to the airport and they're like oops, sorry, that car isn't available. Here's a car for a lot more money instead. I rented from this location, was forced to upgrade to a larger car that I didn't want, and I got everything on it. The top insurance, the fill up the tank gas service and I also got the tolls paid for. So my car rental went from a couple hundred bucks to 500 bucks. Then, almost a month later, I get a charge on my credit card for toll violations. Apparently, the guy at the desk never entered the tolls included. $170. And $130 of that was Sixt fees. I called my credit card company to dispute and I also reached out to sixt. They showed me the invoice that states where their administrative fees were actually higher than my toll violations. Had to wait a min for the shuttle, ended up calling twice to make sure they were coming and redirected to a website for a screenshot of shuttle loc. It didn't seem accurate but shuttle finally showed! Shuttle to/ from DEN airport is about 15 min. Driver was lovely, seemed to really enjoy her job! They offer free water/ coffee inside the trailer. Vehicle was received was smaller than expected and looked like it had literally just been returned. Inside was dirty, but we didn't bother complaining. However, this trip I had a medical emergency and was advised to leave high altitude and return home. I returned the car after 27 hours; I had originally planned to rent for four days. Sixt ended up charging me $296.00 for a one day rental with all of the extra charges they tacked on. I already am taking a large financial hit from having to rebook my return plane ticket home and this felt like a kick in the teeth. As we landed in Denver, I had an email with a QR code to show the agent at the "Key Kiosk" where I could quickly grab my keys and get on the road. We were a little confused when we arrived at the lot and couldn't find a kiosk. We went inside, where there was a looooong line and several banners advertising "Skip the Line!" by uploading your ID on the app. After finally resigning to the fact that there was no key kiosk, we waited in the looooong line where an agent finally waved us up. The exchange went like this: "Sooo, is this the key pickup?" "Sure." "Oh, what happened to 'Skip the Line?'" I was charged more than $100 over what the agreed price was. When we agreed on a price they told me when I was getting ready to pay that they had to run my card for an extra $300 "for security" but that would be refunded within 5 business days and they would email me the contract. Nothing on the contract about filling up the car but I figured most companies want you to. We got back quite late and all the stations I drove by were closed and I was about 1/2 tank down so I figured they'd keep $25 or so to cover that. Turns out they kept $114. That was for gas, a service fee, and a "premium location charge". Gas- fine. Service fee? Premium location fee? I rented and returned to the same place so why was that not on the original contract. Even the facebook customer service person couldn't explain what that was and admitted that none of this is on the contract they give the customers. I love trying out groovy cars I probably would not necessarily purchase. For example, this go-around, I am driving a fantastic Range Rover via Enterprise...it is delightful and for about the same price as the Mercedes...but I digress. Here are the issues I have with this particular location: o Upon walking up to the desk I was immediately asked if my husband would be meeting us for the paperwork...I was traveling alone...no mention of any other driver...Ok...I know some people might not see this as an issue but really? No, "are there going to be any other drivers?" Nope... o I was then asked, after he brought up my reservation, if I was familiar with driving "higher end cars"? Oh my goodness...seriously...seriously? "Yes, I am..." I said, as I twitched..."We may have a car more suitable." REALLY???!!!! This was not a "hey, this car may be new to you as I got into it...NO, this was before I was "allowed" to sign for a vehicle I had reserved a month before. As a bit of background, I am very familiar with virtually all types of vehicles. I like to say I am an "assertive" driver...doesn't that sound better than "NASCAR FAST"? And, with a clean record, go figure...but I digress... o "Well...we are going to have to charge you an additional $500.00 deposit because you...uh...you...want to use your debit card (which has CC capabilities so they could have run it as such but he disagreed with me...just saying...) Then, as an added bonus, wait for it, he asks..."do you think this will go through?" I kid you not. Rented a Mercedes SUV, got the keys, went over it with the associate, returned it 4 days later after driving it less than 150 miles, they tried to charge me for two deep scratches in the fender. The scratches were existing, the car was dirty on the exterior, and the service from corporate was awful. After responding to their 3 emails and 2 paper letters requesting payment for damages explaining that they will never get a dime from me, they finally dropped the claim. This location and company has a history of trying to charge renters for preexisting damaged to cars. I ignored the reviews, as it was the cheapest premium rental, however, every single one of them is true. This is nothing short of criminal. If you get a request for payment, ignore it or fight it. Denver Airport. Overall, my experience with Sixt started out great! Service was prompt, shuttle from airport was clean, and I even got a free upgrade because my model wasn't available! I DID get charged an extra $30 for gas, even though I returned the tank full. After emailing customer service, the local branch refunded the error the same day and followed up with a phone call. I hate renting cars. HATE. And I was concerned with the mixed reviews, but just couldn't pass up the price quote from Sixt. Why would I pay 2-3x as much for a car from a different agency? And so it was with great skepticism and dread that I walked into the Sixt office (after an easily located and short shuttle ride). Alyssa helped me, and was very pleasant. She even offered me a much appreciated bottle of cool water. Absolutely no unpleasant surprises! No push back when I declined additional coverage, as my credit card covers rental cars so long as I do. The car type I requested was in stock. I had reserved a standard SUV, and was in a very nice Jeep Compass within 20 minutes. It had nav, bluetooth, heated seats - very nice! I did note later that evening, one of the tires was showing (on the digital display) lower than the others. By the morning, it was displaying even lower, and in red. As I was about to embark on a Denver to Seattle drive, I took it back in to the office. They checked it out, and swapped me into a Mercedes GLC (I think this was an upgrade even) quickly. One of the guys working on receiving returns was really great about showing us where some of the features are on the Mercedes. About a day later, I received a nice email from Sixt apologizing for the issue with the first car, and offering me a small discount for my trouble. Not on a future rental, as so many companies often do, but on my current. A really standout touch on an already great experience. I dropped the car off in Seattle without incident, and received my invoice a day or so later, with no surprises. At every point, Sixt was fantastic and I actually hate renting cars just a little less. If renting cars was always like this, I'd be a lot more willing to do it on trips. Sixt Rent A Car is now stooping about as low as they can go to bilk people with fees when a rental car is canceled, even if you do it within 24 hours of booking. I booked them through Travelocity and cancelled well within the 24-hour period, then Sixt told me they were charging me $100 for canceling. When Travelocity told me they couldn't talk Sixt out of the fee, I told Travelocity I would no longer use them or Sixt, because deceptive practices like that, designed purely to take advantage of customers, are lower than low. read more

We made a reservation through Expedia for a Tahoe for 4 days for $260. This is like half off compared to all the other rental places. We were a little hesitant to rent from here since the reviews were either really bad or really good. But thank god we did. The line when we got there was short but there was only one rep. It was also 11pm at night. When it was our turn we actually upgraded to a suburban for $60 more. We were able to get a 2021 Suburban for $327 out the door. Good thing we came here cause we saved so much money and we didn't have any bad experience with them. Definitely a place we will be using again. read more

What a sh!t organization 2 weeks ago some one in the Philippines cancelled my reservation. I called spoke to Crystal she said josh and Jacob the boss and the even the bigger boss were in Germany and she emailed them to address my problem no reply from either. I called a few more times and spoke to Crystal again and a Dylan. Both promised to have Josh and Jacob address my calls. Nothing! Most recentally Crystal was rude to me because I continue to call to have her supervisor address me. I would believe the hype this is not a good well run rental operation. The company should put more effort in the customer service. 1) Confirm the final price before you come pick up your rental to avoid surprises. 2) Be sure you have correct address where to return the car! Getting the car was a breeze! No issues with the car either which is the reason why I give it two stars! The problems occurred before we picked up the car and after the return. Before we picked the car up, the receptionist tried to up sell me on upgrading my vehicle. I firmly said that it wasn't necessary. She tried to tell me that I signed up for a small coupe when in fact, I had already paid up for a 4 door sedan. The then said "I'll upgrade you to a 4 door sedan for free anyway!" She was trying to make me think I paid for a coupe when I clearly paid for the sedan in the first place. This is called gaslighting. It makes you question things that you already did. Also, we never received an itemized receipt. After we dropped the car off at the end of our trip, the attendant assured us that we would receive our deposit if $200 back within 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed, no deposit refund. We called and they said we need to contact our bank. We contacted our bank and they said nothing was pending. We called Sixt back and they said "you should have received $360 back into your account. You need to send us your bank statement." I don't feel comfortable sending my bank statement to a company. We emailed corporate and they said there was no $360 that should be returned. The deposit was never charged to the account, it remains pending when you rent the car. Long story short, we never received our deposit back after we dropped the car off with a full tank and cleaned it. We never received an itemized receipt from them to confirm and verify any of the charges. This company is a scam. read more

We rented a Mercedes CLA 4Matic from Denver, & it was super easy! I rented through CarRental8, so I got their prices & Zero Liability Coverage! Super quick pickup from the airport to their location, & the driver was super sweet & informative about altitude sickness & precautions. We walked right in & up to the counter! They pulled up my reservation & quickly had things going! Like usual from any rental place there was a $500 deposit/hold on my credit card, but was released the day after we returned the car! When we dropped off the car, as soon as we signed the drop off slip/phone, the shuttle driver came to us & carried our luggage to the shuttle! I was very impressed with how helpful & smooth it all was! We incurred NO HIDDEN FEES that others have complained about! I will say that I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the car when we got it! When you rent a car, especially a Mercedes, you expect it to be pristine! There was mud on the backseat, writing on the interior window, & just overall could have used a good detailing inside & out! This company is a total scam and I wish I had read all of the reviews beforehand. I rent cars all of the time and this is the first shady company I've ever dealt with. I had the car less than 48 hours, used less than a tank of gas and paid $55 a day at my hotel so I could park in a secure area away from other cars. 3 days after I returned the car they report I've scratched a rear bumper down to the primer. No I didn't! The damage was clearly there already. Btw I made my reservation through Expedia for a RAV4 and I picked up the car from the Denver airport at almost 2am. They "upgraded" me to a BMW in a dark parking lot with no inspection or light to see the vehicle. The scratch was obviously already there. Clearly a scam from this company to make me pay to fix their already damaged entry level BMW. I've never been "upgraded" for a rental car before so clearly this is their scam. Also, I've never dropped off a car without an inspection. They wait until you're long gone, flew out of the airport into another city and then 3 days later hit you up for "damages". I drive a much nicer car than this and don't scratch, damage, hit or back up into things, I'm an LA driver ffs. I'll be leaving this same review on all of the sites to warn people to stay away from them. Expedia has a false 9+ rating for Sixt when the other big car rental companies have 6's.
