Jay was really helpful and told me right away the 15 passenger van was the next bigger vehicle and probably the best for my needs. I was ready to book through him but he said he would have to charge me a walk-in rate, which is apparently more expensive than booking online. This office is also closed on Sundays and he said I can return the van at another nearby office in Signal Hill that's open on Sundays. So helpful! Booking online was super easy. The staff were also really nice and helpful when I picked up the van. Daniel walked me to the van, he took some pictures and told me it just needs to be returned with 3/4 tank of gas, which is what it had. The van was clean and in good condition. He said, "You' may be small, but I have faith in you driving this!" LOL! It was awkward and a bit nerve racking driving it at first, but got used to it pretty quickly. Great visibility being higher up and with big windows. It's also really smooth and good on gas! It got us through the desert and was perfect for us for the week we needed it.

There were a couple cars available for me to choose between, he was patient and allowed me to sit in each car to see which I was comfortable in. Bryan was so patient. He even stated that at any time I was struggling with the car size I could exchange in for another within the same class, he wanted me to be comfortable. I had to call the office a few times with questions. I spoke with Umi who was so helpful and polite, very knowledgeable as was Bryan. Umi, took the time to call me and let me.know my rental had been extended to ease my mind while I shopped for another car. This office goes above and beyond to care for their customers. I used to be a Hertz customer but Bryan & Umi converted me into an Enterprise customer. Thank you both for everything. Yall made a stressful situation more bearable.

Ahmed, Stephanie, & Andrew have the highest standard of customer service and renting here is always fast & reliable. They also have a convenient key drop box for returning cars after hours! I only had the car for 8 hours and went 19 mi. I returned the car full of gas. The e-receipt I received from the company headquarters charged me $24 extra for gas. But when I walked back up to the window where I actually rented the car, it was open the next day, they only charged me $26. After waiting on hold for 27 minutes I spoke with the customer service agent. Very typical abysmal rental car company customer service, that agent swore up and down I was only charged $26. He said I must go to the location where I rented the car. The location person said I must call customer service. Incidentally, the customer service person only understood about 1/3 of what I said on the phone.

The problem is that National is a joke at this location and really makes me want to go with another company because they really are that bad and inefficient at this location - every.single.time. I come here! On this trip today, I had a rental reservation for a full size elite. I was told they don't have that and ended up having to take a VW Atlas (or a convertible, which was way too small). The outdoor booth, which the app told me to go to when I arrived, was closed. Then I went and stood in the National line and was told that I need to get in the Enterprise line. Then I had to wait in a long combo line of Enterprise/National...what a joke this place is. It's so poorly managed and unorganized.

Fortunately, I only live 10 minutes away so I was able to test it at home to see if it had CarPlay and it did not. I immediately returned it to the LGB Hertz location without any hassle and got a 2023 Cadillac XT4 instead. Thank you to Matthew for ensuring the car had CarPlay. Matthew has great customer service and this location is lucky to have him. Super friendly. When I returned the Cadillac on Tuesday (6/4/23), he checked with me to ensure that I enjoyed the car. 6/11-6/13/23: I needed to rent an SUV with Apple Carplay for work purposes for another trip. Our only issue was upon return when the associate basically falsified/inflated the mileage driven because she was too lazy to get up and check the vehicle. Wonder what else she falsifies at her job. I only noticed because I had taken a photo of my mileage before leaving the vehicle, and it didn't match what was on my emailed receipt.
