During COVID when restaurants first opened, I came here with my family a couple times. The service was great, they took the necessary precautions to make everyone feel comfortable, all while enjoying a great meal. You know you're getting quality food when you come to Sizzler, but the service by our waiter, Oscar (who we had both times) was phenomenal. He was so nice and attentive and made sure we always had what we needed. Definitely a go-to restaurant within my family. read more

Eh nothing special here. Their cheese bread wasn't cooked properly and was nasty. Their salad bar leaves a lot to be desired. They had a little taco station, wings, onion rings, and soups I believe besides salad stuff. Our waitress seemed to run away and we had to ask someone else to refill our drink. Our side salad took almost 20 minutes to come out. By the time my husbands burger came out I was already full from their lacking salad bar. It was supper expensive too. So I am a pretty fair and I love sizzler but there have been some changes or maybe it's just the staff they have but from the beginning it was resistance all the way, first the general manager took our order and I originally ordered a classic trio, shrimp, steak and Malibu chicken. So I asked if I could please omit the steak and just get 2 Malibu chickens, she said "oh the computer doesn't let me change it" I was like can't you just let the kitchen know, I'll pay the same price? She was like no, So then we were told that there is a double Malibu combo that's $14 and I could add the shrimp which was another $7.99, so now the plate was going to be $23!!! I think as a general manager you can do whatever to make the customer happy within reason. I don't think that was reasonable. Ok so I take the original order "classic trio" and I don't eat it all and ask for a to go plate, and the waiter comes back with this little foam box, I asked him for the plate with the plastic clear cover, he said "oh I'm sorry ma'am those are only for to go orders" I informed him they have given them to me before and all he could say "oh those are for to go plates" I was like ok. I visited this sizzler last night with my sister and nephew, it had been a while since our last visit. We were served by the only male server in the restaurant, Marco was very friendly and welcoming. The speed of service was excellent, he would bring refills even if we didn't ask, he would constantly asked if we needed anything else, always with a honest smile on his face. My family and I come to this sizzler often and we're always treated in such a positive manner. This time we had a waiter named Marcos and to top off one of our favorite places to eat he provided such amazing customer service. He was polite and friendly and even greeted my children. This is going to be one of our favorite places to eat. Although, construction made it hard to find a place to park. soon we have more space. Very clean and inviting, it's smells delicious. We've been customers here for many years and food has gotten better. Steaks are cooked perfectly now. Service at the register is lacking. Service at the table is better. Salad bar area is always clean. The General Manager, Melody is too busy to give customers two minutes of her time so she relays messages, lacks common sense, and basic customer service skills. Adelaida was very understanding and tried to help but Melody wouldn't let her. I wish that we didn't have this experience because we no longer want to go there, take visitors, family, or friends there now. So I have had some issues with writing this review... I know it shouldn't be difficult but I will explain why. First of all, it is a Sizzler... Kind of the fast food of steaks. And having said that, the steaks, as a generalization, are actually not bad. This is probably a good thing. The staff sometimes tho are more what you would expect at a fast food joint. This is probably not a good thing. The salad bar, depending on how you view salads is either wonderful or a crime against humanity. The facility itself is fairly clean and well attended. And then there is the cost. For what it is, it is kind of pricey. Our most recent foray consisted of two lunch items, two salad bars and two iced teas. From a value standpoint, I don't think that we got our monies worth. We could have easily went to a competitor steak house, spent the same amount of money and got the same if not better food as well as service... I wouldn't call this joint a destination but it is very difficult to find a proper steakhouse in this town... It is what it is. read more

I had dinner at this restaurant last night service and food was good as usual I've been eating here for years. After I finished my meal I started looking at my receipt and saw that there was a surcharge of 3.5% on the bill. I went up to talk to the cashier to find out what it was she didn't know and went to get the manager. He said that their expenses have gone up and they needed to add the surcharge and that it was posted in the fine print on the menu. My feeling is raise your prices if expenses have gone up or post it on the cash register so that it can easily be seen. I expect prices to go up because of Covid anyway but to do it this way is incredibly shady. This was a small amount of money but I just don't like the way its done. read more

My husband likes to make his own salad. Trust me when I say his salads are a meal all by itself. We are so spoiled by having this Sizzler! We just returned from a car trip to central Oregon and back. We stopped at several Sizzlers along the way (my husband is vegan) and each and every one had adequate salad bars but nothing like the salad bar here. They all had the ordinary requirements but the Bakersfield stores offer unique salad ingredients. Not all Sizzlers are made alike. I've been to a few, but the one on Mt. Vernon excels above the rest. Nice and clean inside and you are greeted by two very nice people to place your order and then pick your table. They even serve wine and beer!! This sizzler is amazing! We got the buffet for lunch time and everything was tasty! There was not a lot of people this last Saturday and there was a coupon ! There's a good chunk of information on their menu. From occasional moments to the present my family has visited Sizzler for a nice round of appetizers, buffets, and dinners. There's plenty of meat in various forms on plates which speak of themselves while we're dining for pleasure and comfort under the appealing environment close to some shopping areas. People are well-mannered here because pardons get realized between us on large notes to social activity buzzing around the place during ongoing pressure from nice, kind visitors. Free dessert is available. Sizzler doesn't have the best steak in town but it sure does provide me with a quick bite for modest, extraordinary affair. Their steak sauce won't excite too much and it won't offend. But there's real sweetness in the dessert buffet: candies, swirls, cones, slices, syrups and more. Asian sea bass is for those on a tighter budget due to its low, reasonable cost while the lobby gets going on the way. It's fun to use lime on fish, it's delightful to use butter on sweet breads. Malibu chicken is presented on Sizzler's high note assumed and managed for the rest of their plates since meals get typically laid down on tables on different kinds of freshness- that is to say, the fish is fresh for fish, the steak is fresh for steak, the cheeseburger is fresh for cheeseburger, the buffet tacos are fresh for buffet tacos, etc. Studying the menu does take some practice in getting used to. The rooms are extended into nice environmental objects which express the glory or light where decor fits in for attractions, satisfaction, over the highlights and privilege of getting some of the best plates for modest means of income. For reference we just have to compare Sizzler in Bakersfield to Hickory Pit in Laughlin. My family has enjoyed the just desserts and we've come back for more of the same when different tastes gradually change our moods into something better than ordinary life. Servers are very attentive here; in fact, the cash register doesn't always "register" the goods and so a worker may have to call out to the chef to get my little brother's order right. Our visit for Easter let us deal with Melissa for our waiter- very nice, very attentive. Our code of ethics aren't that strictly enforced and yet people in the restaurant treat each other with respect since the prospects get assumed on with glee and general understanding for higher levels of social activity.
