Last night 1-20-24 my husband and I had dinner at the Mt. Vernon Sizzler, our server was Jenny J. Always cheerful and smiling, as most of the SIZZ family always do! My husband enjoyed a Rib-eye Steak with all the trimmings. Whilst I enjoyed my usual Beef and vegetable soup along with a fresh salad. We followed with our favorite deserts: Peach Cobbler w/Vanilla Ice Cream for him and that delicious Oreo Cheesecake! Wonderful relaxing evening. As we were watching all of the young families, especially the darling little youngest ones. The servers of the night were both named Jenny, who helped each other through the evening, when one was bogged down the other helped give service as needed and visa versa. And the place was really hopping. As I have said several times before, they could actually use 'wheelies' on their shoes! I will be glad when the employee level returns to pre-pandemic so these floor people didn't have to practically run to give their service. We've been coming to this Sizzler for Years! The food is Really Good and Consistent and the restaurant feels very Welcoming and Homey. Tonight I had the Steak and Skewers and a trip to the Salad Bar. I did have to send my steak back to be cooked a little more, but our server, Amanda was Right On Top Of It!! When it came back just a couple minutes later: it was Perfect! She appeared to be the only server, as far as we could see, but she was A Pleasure, as Always (she's waited on us many times). She is very good at her job! Our drinks stayed full, and she never lets plates stack up on our table. She is very professional, and obviously knows her job very well! Sizzler on Mt Vernon in Bakersfield. Thank you Jenny!! My son and I enjoyed a nice lunch. Jenny was our server. She took care of us and made sure we had hot rolls to go with our meal, served with honey butter. She also promptly refilled our drinks and cheerfully brought me tartar sauce for my delicious shrimp. I had a trio with fried shrimp, a steak, and Malibu chicken. My son had steak and lobster. The baked potatoes were so good. Mine was loaded with chives, butter, and sour cream. Diet starts tomorrow. Not! :-) Food was great, affordable, delicious, and even better, my son treated me. So how about that. This place has been remodeled and it's nice. This is by far my favorite sizzler due to the atmosphere, the food and the servers. My server was a young woman named Phoenix and she was the best!! As soon as we were seated she showed up with a smile on her face to get ticket. The food was hot and fresh, i have been to other locations and that was not the case. I ordered the steak and unlimited shrimp. Due to the lack of service in the past I usually only get one order in but Phoenix continued to check on us giving me orders of shrimp and I felt I actually got my money's worth. After we finished eating we wanted to get some ice cream but the machine was out. Phoenix tried everything to get full again and gave us updates about it. The food was great, but the best part of our sizzler experience was definitely the amazing waitress Theresa H. She made my dad and I feel so welcomed and never missed and opportunity to check on us, and make sure we had all we needed for a wonderful dinner. Outstanding customer service is a rare find, and few have the natural ability like Theresa did to make us feel great, and want to come back as soon as possible. An added bonus was being able to say that my birthday dinner with my dad was made perfect by her exceptional customer service skills. Theresa made us feel like family the whole time. Our first time here this place is a little different you order in the front an are seated right away I like that becuase there is no waiting plus they have a very wide menu with lots of different options. We tried the salad bar it was great with 4 different soup options an some hot options as well as all the salad selections an some sweets for after dinner a baked peach dish, bread pudding, fresh fruit and ice cream. We also had the steak It was also awesome an the service from Amanda was on point. My family and I had a pleasant visit. Katrina greeted us kindly before placing our order. She answered all our questions professionally and seated us as well. For being the first person to service us on our visit, we were very happy to start. Irene was our server and took excellent care of our needs, checking on us and clearing our table more than a few times. I love how friendly both girls were and definitely hope to see them again. As for the salad bar, definitely decent. It was kept pretty clean and organized. We also had the cedar plank salmon and the flavor was good but the presentation needs a little help. read more

We went and had lunch at this Sizzler on June 11 2020. Things were just starting to open up for dine in . We were greeted just outside the doors and were asked to wear masks and if we had any health issues . After that the door was opened for us and we went in to place our order . After placing order we were seated and our drinks were brought to table . Our waitress was Jenny and she was great . Brought our food and was very friendly and came back a few times to see if we needed anything , but it was to frequent . The food was great and everyone was friendly . We will be back. read more

What a pleasant experience! Very appealing from the outside and upon entering it got even better! Counter staff was pleasant and inviting. Manager Melody made me feel very welcome. The salad bar items were fresh and tasty. I ordered my old favorite steak and Malibu chicken. I haven't been to a Sizzler in sometime. I wasn't really sure what it would be like to be honest. Man! So I am working late right down the street and it has not been a good day. In the mood for a meal , I stop at the sizzler, getting to the parking lot and not going to the new eateries was a challenge but I made it in had a seat and then it all got better. My server Yeni, did not miss a beat . A quick smile and pleasant dispostion ,put me in the mood for a nice meal . Either she's good at what she does or the stars all lined up. My wife and I came to this restaurant this evening, hoping for quality service, as it's our 5th anniversary, and that's just what we got. Our waitress, Amanda, was so nice and polite and made us feel as though we were the only customers she had. (Although, I'm sure we weren't!) The ambiance and atmosphere were very friendly! My steak was cooked to absolute perfection, as well as the Smokey Bacon Burger for my wife. Also, the Salad Bar was great, stocked with everything I wanted for tonight. OMG I am sooooooo full!!!! I am here on a Friday at 12:30pm. No wait and the vibe is very chill. From the moment I got out the car I was greeted with a smile by an employee on her break! My wife and I went to sizzler last night. She ended up getting the salad bar while I got the rib eye with unlimited shrimp. The ladies in the front were very nice. We were seated and my server Phoenix came to my table and gave us our drinks and some cheese toast. She was very nice and smiled alot. She brought me my food and even gave us refills without asking ! My wife and I come in here at least once a month, the service is always pleasant and the food quality is great. Today we were served by a waiter named Marco, he was very welcoming because he smiled constantly and he asked several times how we were doing, he made us feel comfortable and welcome. He brought our drinks and bread almost immediately. I have never written a review for this location but the dinning experience merits the time. Visiting Sizzler after they re-opened, I was not surprised that the buffet was closed (which I didn't need anyway). That didn't stop them from having the dining room full at half-capacity at 4:30pm on a Sunday. That tells me that this location is known for its fresh food and great service. Shout out to Our server, Amanda, who probably had double the tables she normally would, but still provided great service. She was on top of refills, condiments, and smiles! I am such a fan of the salad bar it's the main reason I come to sizzler but after many visits I can say that the menu items are just as tasty. Tho I have only had what I steal from my husband's or kid's plates all of it is so good. I just get so full with making my own salad exactly how I like it all the toppings an trimmings.
