This is by far the worst Sizzler anyone will experience! I ordered a strawberry lemonade, a semi delicious looking display but all I got was a regular pink lemonade with some nasty looking reddish syrup floating on top in a fountain drink cup - looks nothing like the display. I asked my server what is this? Her reply was, Oh, we ran out of tall glasses, they're all dirty, so we've been giving our customer regular fountain drink cup. Lol, really?? Ordered a medium rare ribeye steak, needless to say, it was well done, cold, dried, and took over 40 mins. Not one single server showed up after we sat down nearly 20 mins so I had to ask for help near the back of the kitchen, where most of the servers were hiding. When the queen finally arrived, she gave us ONE set of silverware, there were two of us mind you, so I had to ask for a second set - another 20 mins wasted. The salad bar was empty, no chicken wings, no spaghetti, salsa/sauces dripped on top of other sauces, it was so gross, a complete disaster to say the least. I've always gone to the Daly City location and their service was good (for a sizzler). This Colma location was horrible from the start! First, the cashier had absolutely no greeting and no smile. Way to make us feel welcome. She stared at us with nothing to say until we began ordering. When we went to go sit down, there were about 15 tables open, all with old dishes and past customers. There was hardly anywhere to sit. Not because there were a lot of customers, but because all the tables were dirty. My wife ordered well done steak because she is pregnant. Anything else, she cannot eat. I ordered a medium rare burger. Her steak came medium cooked and mine came well done. Vanilla Ice Cream & Vanilla/Chocolate Combo were out and so were the ice cream cups. Lastly, the bathrooms were disgusting. The is worst sizzler I've ever been to, especially when it comes to the salad bar, it was poorly kept, they were out of a lot of toppings, soup, etc & it just looked awful, well, disgusting dirty is more like it. As a teen I worked at a different Sizzler, this was many, many years ago & I never let the salad bar get like to the point that I saw this one. Everyone should be working together, if you're a worker there but you don't work at the salad bar but you notice something is out, tell the people that work the salad bar. When I told the young lady at the cash register because I couldn't find anyone else to tell that they were out of soup spoons, she told me to tell my server which at that point, I hadn't seen her in a while, so, I had to go to the entrance of where the other workers are & tell them that I needed a spoon because they were out, in total, I waited 10 minutes for spoons. Lol. So ridiculous. No one seemed to want to help me & no one ever smiles there, the bus boy clearing the table next to me put dishes in his tub so loudly that it hurt my ears, might seem petty but it was that kind of loud. I don't want to make this review too long so I'll close it up quickly but there were many other issues I encountered there other than not having soup spoons but there are too many to list. We used to always eat here. Malibu chicken is still to die for. (5 stars for that) The bread too ( but this trip they only give one severing and even when we asked the waiter never came back with anymore) must be a cost cutting. Although there are a lot of things that could be improved, this sizzler isn't so bad. Sure, the salad bar, drink fountains and frozen yogurt (basically everything), could be maintained better, the food actually tastes great. I always order the steak and Malibu chicken combo, and I never have any complaints. Their cheese toast is soooooooo good too! sizzler holds a place dear in my heart. growing up, papasan was too busy making money to be around much. he made it out once to a little league game.... told me afterwards, have i should consider golf, perhaps i could hit stationary targets better. he took me out on lake merced once on a rented rowboat. we didnt catch anything, but had a nice afternoon. he said, its not about catching the fish, its about enjoying the moment.... then we went to luckys and bought a couple trouts and told mom we caught them. i didnt learn until years later but i found out he had been working 16-18 hour days, 6 days a week and the seventh was usually spent meeting with business folks.... just so i could have the chance to strike out five times in a game. my father used to take me to sizzlers on special occasions. i really enjoyed those times. the other day, after watching bridget make an awesome beef tenderloin roast on americas test kitchen, the lady and i had the same idea... steak. mid afternoon, you dont have too many options. fuck it, i said sizzlers. surprisingly, we both thought it was a great idea. yeah its weird, you order first, cafeteria style and they bring you your food. skip all the sauces, just get you meat medium rare and sit the hell down. i think the funniest thing was when i said after a couple bites of my square lump o meat, holy shit, this is just as good as houstons the other night!!!! or maybe when, as we were leaving i snuck a peak at the salad plate of a particularly large gentlemen. the plate was about four inches high, 10 inches around.... and i swear i saw a steak and a roasted chicken hidden inside it. read more

My review is for Freddie and only Freddie. I just want to say thank you to him for being the best waiter I've ever come across. Because of him I will come back as it was my first time. He remembered my girlfriend who said she hadn't been back for at least 2 years and he said it was nice to see her again. It felt like he knew everyone in the restaurant though. i come to this sizzlers about 10 years later and nothing has really changed. the entree is still ok and on most visits, it is still not good. the steaks dont usually turn out the way i want it. the salad bar is good here. the employees at the counter are pretty lame here. went yesterday and my bill was around 140. the guy at the counter kept trying to charge my card but it kept declining and was asked to call my credit card company. i called the credit card company twice and both times there were no holds on my account. the dumb ass behind the counter continues to swipe the card and it keeps declining. i gave him another card and it declines again. then the dumb ass behind the counter had a eureka moment and realized that he had to break it up into two transactions because it was over 100 bucks. so lame and the dumb ass behind the counter is a team lead too... read more

Came here hungry. What I love about sizzlers is that.. When you order your steak a certain temperature.. They perfect it. It's never over cooked like most restaurants. They're prices are reasonable. Attentive service for refills. I love how they know never to let my bread bowl go low. I love their dinner rolls. Their cheesy bread is good as well, but their fresh made dinner rolls are oh so yummy! But I'm super sad. I used to always add their endless salad bar to all my meals for their soup but mainly for their chicken wings! But when I came here today, I learned that.. It's no longer included. So sad! They now sell the chicken wings 6pieces for $3.99. It's just not the same. Guess they have to make their money somewhere. Sizzler has become pricier since the remodel. Gone are my favorites like the lunch combos. I'm ambivalent about the remodel to be honest. Yes it's nice that the soda machine is on the outside, so u can get the refills yourself whenever you want. they added delicious iced coffee and fruit punch. everything is more clean and organized. There are huge drawbacks to the upgraded look though. the salad bar has suffered the most in the remodel. it's been reduced in choice and quality. There's a lot less fresh fruit, no delicious pineapples, no more dessert cups, fewer options in almost everything. The greens look sad and wilted, carrots were not fresh and bright, no kidney beans, no fruit ambrosia, no whipped chocolate, and a lot of things werent there anymore from before the remodel. For most people, they won't notice this difference but it does for me. Anyways, i'm happy they are still around because most of the Sizzlers have shut down. Honestly i wish they didn't remodel it. Alright people. I don't usually write reviews but I was able to fulfill my salad fix at an affordable price so I think that deserves some type of recognition. I was hesitant at first to visit this chain because of all the bad reviews but I remembered that people oftentimes have crazy high expectations in the advent of Yelp - where people can just complain and complain about every little thing when they should be checking themselves first. First of all, this is an affordable chain restaurant that obviously serves locals and regular families. Not everybody can afford (or would want) a $20+ fancy salad that barely fills you up so if that is what you are looking for then maybe you shouldn't be going to Sizzler in the first place. Second of all, the staff that I encountered tonight were all very nice. They were polite, attentive and it was obvious they all are working very hard. I didn't see any servers rest - they were just on the go constantly whether it was clearing/setting up the tables or serving the plates of food. People need to realize that these can be thankless jobs sometimes so please tip appropriately! You wouldn't be cheap on the tip at a fancier place so why cheap out on tip now when they are genuinely working hard? Everybody is just trying to make a living so be nice to each other yanno?! Lastly, the food was decent and edible. Chicken wings was moist and juicy. Taco shells were not stale. Meatballs were not dry. Chowder was hot enough. The salad bar was replenished frequently and the veggies was fresh due to the high turnover. One really can't expect staff to keep the entire salad bar/hot food area super clean when there are so many messy customers. If anything, people should be doing their part and NOT make a mess and expect others to clean up after them. Hand and eye coordination goes a long way when trying to use tongs and ladels! Be kind and courteous! There is enough craziness and hate in the world already. Parking is easy and no line despite the restaurant being crowded with families enjoying a meal together. Didn't have to wait 1+ hour to eat despite being near San Francisco which is always a plus in my book. Overall, I would totally visit this Sizzler again. read more

Got there about 1 hour after they opened. Food should have at least been pretty warm. Nope! The only thing that was relatively hot were the whole beans in the taco fixings area, and they was mostly juice. The chicken wings were cold. When they replaced them with "fresh ones, they were dark, overdone and just warm. A lot of cross contamination in the salad bar. Onions in the carrots and in the cut/cubed cucumbers. Carrots in the onions. The Bleu cheese dressing tasted like onions! Yuck! The ice cream machine was even out of order. In an effort to be a good gf, i decided to go with my friend to sizzler and gave up on chipotle because he grew up eating it and really likes it! i for one haven't been inside a sizzler since i was in middle school and i couldn't remember anything from my 1st experience. after i ate here, i'm sure there's a reason why i didn't remember anything about this place(blocked out bad memories?) the pricing seems enticing, you can get an entree of your choice w/ unlimited salad bar from as low as 10 bucks. but honestly, if i had to do it all over again, i would at least only order the salad bar because that's about the only edible thing at this place. the steak i ordered was small, overcooked, and unappetizing. it has no flavor or whatsoever. the salad bar was pretty messy and filled with people who seem like they haven't eaten in ages. the restaurant was super noisy and crowded and the service was slow. the quality of food was beyond crappy that i told my friend i probably would pay to not have to eat the steak because it's really bad. i've never really been into a restaurant and regretted ever stepping into the place after im done in a VERY long time. i honestly wonder how this place still continue to have business. honestly, if you just want to stuff yourself b/c you're on a super tight budget and don't care about what you're putting into your mouth. this place is definitely your cup of tea. but then for the same amount of money i probably could've gotten some cheap chinese food that still tastes better than anything from this restaurant. read more

I love Sizzlers. On my two week trip to the west coast I've visited four. This was not just the worst Sizzler of the four, this is the worst Sizzler I've ever been to. The salad and hot bar were both extremely limited in selection. The soups were lacking in substance, mostly just liquid. The cold pasta was terrible, it tasted like it was spoiled. The grilled salmon that I ordered was dry. The ice cream had no flavor and they didn't even offer chocolate. Lastly, after the server put down our food and said she'd be back with more plates, we never saw her again. If this were my first experience at a Sizzler, I'd never want to come back or try another one. This location gives the entire franchise a bad name. Sizzler is great - please don't judge Sizzler based on this location - just skip this location entirely. I'm giving it one star, but my real rating is negative five stars. If the owner is reading this, clean house and start from scratch. In fact, visit the Bakersfield location and take notes. read more

This place brings back memories of me and my dad when I was young. We would come here just the two of us and he'd order his steak while I got stuff from the salad bar. We would laugh and have a good time--he didn't really understand what the cheese toast was all about but I loved it! When I go there I think of him and the fun times. I still like this place because you see all the families coming together. I Iike their all you can eat shrimp and other seafood meals, keep going to the salad bar for seconds, and end the meal with some ice-cream. Moving to Daly City we were not enthusiastic about the choices in buffets but at least there was sizzlers..My daughter and I got food poisoning after eating here. The only food we both ate were the beets at the salad bar. Big mistake. Pasta was hard and stale, lettuce was wilted and nothing seemed fresh other than the pre ordered food from the kitchen. I remember my boyfriend and I decided to come here one time since his family tends to go to Sizzler a lot. I've honestly never even been to a Sizzlers till I had dinner with his family here one time but the one in Daly City. Anyways, came here because I was dying to get their baked potato which is my favorite. This place reminds me of Hometown Buffet just because you pay first and it's a buffet (sorta).
