A lot of years ago, tbh. His was big enough. I had a hard time slicing my tri tip. The shrimps were falling out of my plate. It was more medium rare. I had to add salt, pepper, and A1. The shrimps were ok, but way too much, you can't even order more, at least I couldn't. Baked potato was meh. Slobbered with a ton of fake butter. Told the hubs, that's it. Now I could have sworn this location closed down, but color me surprised when we pulled up to a very open and slightly busy Sizzler. It's probably been over 10 years since I've been to a Sizzler (I thought this one was gone), and that's probably also how long it's been since they got a new sign. I wish I had taken a picture because it was funny how small that burger was. LOL Besides being a mini burger, it was okay. The lemonade was also sweet and refreshing, which took the sting out of my burger size. It was a busy MLK dinner crowd that night, and they seemed short-staffed. What a pleasant surprise this meal was. We added the salad/hot food bar onto our entrées for only $10 extra per person, and it was both tasty and a great value. The best items to me were the crispy fried chicken wings, which were fresh and plump and nicely seasoned with a dash of pepper in the seasoning of the crispy skin. The ground beef hardshell tacos were perfectly serviceable after adding what was likely a premade store guacamole, but perfectly decent for the value. And then the soft serve ice cream was actually yummy - sometimes these machines are too icy at buffets, but not the case here. It was like having McDonald's soft serve pretty much. The salads were run-of-the-mill, but all fresh. There was a variety of store-bought type potato salad, seafood salad, and macaroni salad type dishes. I don't care for soups at these places, so I didn't try. One of us had the steak and unlimited shrimp, and the shrimp was all freshly fried and correctly cooked. Very nice, surprisingly. I will say that the steak and the burger both seem like they were pretty cooked, as expected at this type of fast casual place, so keep that in mind when choosing your temperature. The day we went, there was an excellent fry cook because all the fried food was great. Based on the mixed reviews, my guess is that consistency in the kitchen could be an issue here. The service was surprisingly efficient and fairly nice considering that I am positive they are understaffed for how busy the restaurant was - it was completely full on the weekend that we went. If you're looking for a cozy humble salad bar and simplicity in-chain steakhouse, I would say this has been at least my 7th-8th time going to Sizzler in Colma for last five years for some decent food-for-price point food and expedient no frills or upselling in service. I've been going to this Sizzler and this most recent version (it was definitely different when my folks brought me here in the 1990's) is pretty darn fair decent considering what you pay for. Of all the times I have been here though I always get the $14.99 lunchy salad bar AYCE with soups varying from Clam Chowder, Chicken Noodle, Cream of Broccoli, and sometimes Chili or Vegetable soup. There is also some great seafood surimi-crab salad, tuna macaroni salad, some nice array of jello and a soft swrve machine with some hot food dishes. BUT TODAY, today 4/6/26 was different- I wanted to give them a chance for steak and try their advertise Trio Special of a 6oz Sirloin Steak, Butterfly Shrimp, fried Chicken-Ham parm, and a loaded baked potato. To be honest, I was surprised for the price pf $31 it was actually a good deal as the qualoty of the steak was not bad, had some lean some fat and not too dry. The loaded baked potato was very stuffed with sour cream and bacon with onion but there was just not enough cheese, so that was a sorta a ding on the potato. The chicken-ham parm steak was not bad, very crispy (but they should have a side of marinara with it next time), and the 4x pc butterfly shrimp was crispy. Overall, the whole TRIO - Was a decent deal on pricepoint especially as they do come with a slice of cheese bread (I asked for some more and they were nice to give me two slices not just one piece the second time ). My other so called subjective issue is I paid extra $3 for sauteed mushrooms and they brought it out after I had to remind them that was part of my meal (which I found strange because when I go to Texas Roadhouse/Outback, I recall the sauteed mushrooms are normally poured on top of the steak which I like not on a separate side plate ) leaves a little to be changed. Overall - pricepoint- 5, service-4.5 they were generous, food quality for the Steak Trio - a solid 3.5-4 - it could be better prepared in terms of flavor for the potato and sauteed mushrooms. Altogether - I would say their food is so far pretty decent and considering they also offer to make my 6oz to an 8oz on the menu for $3 they do try to offer certain deals. Me personally, I would tell anyone just stick with the 6oz because an extra 2oz doesnt really give you more than one extra bite of steak so what was the point of that . Aside from that - they offered soft serve but I chose to watch my calories but overall - it was good. I haven't eaten at sizzler in over 15 years and was a little excited to visit. I wasn't expecting much and I'm kind of surprised it survived the pandemic. We didn't order any entrees and opted for the unlimited salad bar. Salad bar itself was ok, some items were empty and were never refilled, and some items were still frozen. Included are some hot food items (soup, spaghetti, chicken, mini taco bar etc) and ice cream machine which was nice. Definitely reminded me of a lower tier souplantation/sweet tomatoes. Also the complimentary bread was great. Sizzler itself was a little rough but overall it was a decent visit. My boyfriend and I had dinner at Sizzler on a Sunday evening and were not disappointed. We both ordered the unlimited salad bar, and thought the food options were sufficient to fill our hunger, including plenty of salad toppings and types of greens, at least 6 choices of dressing, 4 kinds of soup, a taco bar, spaghetti, and cold pastas and dishes as well (ie. potato salad). They had fried chicken wings served directly to the table, too. I didn't realize that unlimited cheese toast was also included (at least with our salad bar tickets). So simple, but unbelievably delicious, airy, topped with crispy savory cheese, and quite addicting at Sizzler, hence it's dangerous that they kept offering more at our table. Overall, some of the food was subpar, such as watery nacho cheese, but most of it was quite tasty... the taco meat had good flavor, all of the salad toppings were fresh, the chicken wings were juicy. And we absolutely loved the clam chowder and vegetable soup, warm and satisfying, filled with yummy ingredients. For dessert, the soft-serve machine offers the classic chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as chocolate & vanilla swirl, along with multiple sauces and toppings to create your own sundae (caramel, strawberry, chocolate syrup, m&m's, sprinkles, etc.). We ordered the Shrimp Scampi Linguine, Mega Bacon Burger, and we both upgraded our order with the "Unlimited Salad Bar" upgrade. After you order your food at the counter, you will go and pick a table you want to sit at and they will deliver your food to you. Once we sat at our table, a waiter came up to us and asked us about what we ordered and if we wanted some toast; that was a nice surprise! We wanted that toast and then we left our table to go to the salad bar. Once we got back to our table, all of our food we ordered was already there. I did notice that he didn't ask us if we wanted a basket of wings though, but no one at that time got wings so they probably ran out? At the salad bar, there is a build your own taco section, pasta, soup, salad, and a dessert section! There is also an area for unlimited fountain drinks there too if you choose the salad bar option. The dessert section had items like gelatin, fruits, pudding, and an icecream machine, but the icecream machine wasn't really working properly when I used it. Anyways! About the food! The walls and the trim looked like the same original light brown with green trim. The salad bar tastes as amazing as I remembered. My typical go-to is the clam chowder soup, chicken wings, nachos, and a soft serve for dessert. For the chicken wings, you have to order it with the waitress. I was just trying to look online for the menu, and some of the stuff I ordered was not even on there. I will try my best off of memory 1. Steak and shrimp (upgraded steak to a ribeye, and the sauce for the shrimp tasted like the orange chicken from Panda Express) - steak was good and the shrimp was nice and crunchy. 2.
