My wife and I went there last Wednesday night about 800 pm. The place was filthy, it looked like a pig feeding zone. The food at the salad bar was not pleasing to look at, and tasted worse. Ordered chicken Malibu. ( we have ordered these for years), it tasted like nothing we have ever eaten. People are saying it. The new remodel put lipstick on a pig. Our experience started off rough and went downhill from there. The specials are advertised in LCD screens that rotate. After waiting in line for a few minutes we weren't sure about the specials and asked the cashier and she didn't know them and they aren't written down. I asked if there was a menu and she said "we had one but I don't know where it is." So we waited for the LCD panel to scroll back to the specials and I walked over to see them. I echo the observations about the salad bar and beverage fountain. I asked for a tray to carry our plates and cups and was told that they didn't give trays anymore. I asked about cutlery and was told it was at the table. We walked to our table.. no cutlery .. and navigating the tables is like trying to navigate a middle school cafetria... the table are so closely placed that you make contact with multiple folks on your way to/from your seat. I'm assuming they are complying with the occupancy limits set by the fire code.. but it's just too many people in too small of a place to be a pleasant place to dine. Fast food places provide more pleasant seating. Our food did not come as ordered (missing items) and then when we asked for the missing items,... still did not come. We caught the manager who got the missing item and delivered it.. and we then noticed our food was cold. Sent it all back for new food and eventually the manager returned with coupons for a free meal upon return. The tables we sat at near the windows were set up for four.. but no humanly way anyone could fit four people in the tight space. We noticed that there were a row of 8 chairs against a wall as people throughout the dining area removed chairs from their tables to accommodate themselves. The salad bar was never full of items I wanted (basics like lettuce) throughout, chicken wings were empty 3 of 4 trips to the salad bar, clam chowder (one of my favorites and reasons to go to the sizzler) was a watery gray mess of blandness. - All in all.. we were super disappointed in the but we'll be back to see if they have made any improvements. read more

This place just reopened after a remodel inside. I came for dinner only to be told exactly this : sorry we don't have any Malibu chickens we ran out, oh if you want a burger it'll have to be on the cheese bread because we don't have any buns. Then I go to get salad bar, no taco shells. I ask the manager, and his excuse was that the Daly City location closed doors a day early so it's not his fault they're running out of food. Then went to go fill my drinks at the new soda machine, only to discover there's no iced tea, NO ICE, and that again I addressed the manager with no compensation. Funny thing is, I went to the restroom to only find out they're out of soap, so they brought target soap to the restroom.. There was just no positive reinforcement from the manager and acted like he didn't care. I hope someone from corporate would reach out to me, that would be greatly appreciated. Now I'm editing my post. Because I received my burger that was supposed to be plain with Swiss cheese, got it with full veggies and all, with American cheese. I've never been to a Sizzler's until the other night . Now I'm hooked ! You can order one of the combo things which includes the thing you order and a side dish . The combo thing was super small and not worth it , but it included access to the salad bar and everything else which made it well worth it . They have a big salad bar that includes ingredients for you to build your own salad . They also have pasta salad , potato salad , etc. They also have a taco bar that includes ingredients for you to build your own taco . They have fried chicken too as well as a few choices of soup and fruit . They even have yogurt ! I didn't see it until the very end though . The food here ranged from decent to good . I loved the strawberry banana ... I put some chocolate sauce on top . Very delicious !! I really like this place and I will definitely come back because I'm trying to gain weight and Sizzler is good on my budget . My only complaint is that there was no toilet paper in both the stalls in the womens bathroom and one of the sinks was clogged . read more

Me and my friend frequent this place when we want salad or steak. This place is hit or miss.. mostly miss.. tonight was one of them. My friend ordered the burgundy tri tip with the endless salad and I ordered thr shrimp scampi pasta with the endless salad add-on. It was handwritten on the blackboard burgundy tri tips + endless salad bar.. and my friend has ordered it before and she's always gotten the endless salad but this time was different.. The cashier gave us one plate and one bowl.. me and her paid separate but my friend wasn't paying attention to what I was ordered so we got to the table and I picked up the bowl and my friend was confused as to why we were only given a bowl and a plate only.. so she asks the waiter when she came with our waters and the waiter says it's an add-on it doesn't come with it.. so then I went to the cashier and asked ever so politely and she copped an attitude with me! I didn't blame her or whatnot I just asked her a simple question to make sure. She didn't even apologize! She just gave an attitude and handed me a bowl and plate. And my friend also asked for cup of hot water.. we had to ask the same waiter 3 times for it and she didn't even give it to her so my friend gave up and went up to the cashier and asked for ice water instead. So then my shrimp scampi pasta comes.. it was swimming in BUTTER! LOTS OF IT! I was mortfied.. it was in fact drowning in butter! I almost didn't even want to eat it! It didn't look appetizing one bit! Then I went to go get ice cream and I can clearly see my waitress in the kitchen fucking around with the other waiters with their phones in clear view just having a grand old time with each other! Our waitress only checked on us once! It wasn't even busy! We came in at 830 pm and it was dead! There were 3 or 4 tables of people eating! So our waitress deserves only a 2 dollar tip.. one from me and one from my friend.. This place has gone down hill each time we come.. I've loved this place even before calorie counting and eating healthy was popular. I'm a sucker for their steaks, malibu chicken, baked potatoes but primarily it's the usually unlimited salad bar that I'm always down for. That salty clam chowder keeps me returning for more, topped off with fried chicken wings along with a taco bar assortment and potato wedges that can be smothered in rich creamy heart attack inducing nacho cheese sauce. (there's a reason why I hit the gym everyday... I have to if I want to live long enough after eating here) but mainly it's because it's the after sunday mass hotspot for my family. I've been coming here after church every weekend. I was a fat kid for a reason. But I digress, to finish off this clearly over 2k calorie meal sitting you gotta have some soft serve ice cream topped with candies, cookies, and fudge sauce. Skip the $8.99 all you can eat ribs. Get the full rack instead. The all-you-can-eat is like pork chops with flat bones. But for all you can eat, heyy. The food is eh. No more dino-nuggets?! Going on a Saturday night was not the business. Cashier was hard of hearing, her tie was knotted unprofessionally. No more escorted seating. Tables aren't cleared and cleaned very often. The place was a mess with food and napkins all over the floor & under the tables, and the seating arrangements make the place quite crowded. Our waiter was more socialable and less waiter-able. He would leave our new basket of ribs on top of our leftover bones and only brought napkins, straws, new plates when asked. I think the patrons have a lot to do with the mess, esp the bathroom ordeal. I miss the old Sizzlers, where the outside would smell like cheese and garlic bread. The moment we sat down, there were no waiters or waitresses there to service us. Everyone who worked there just walked by and looked at us without stopping to help us. In the end, after a long wait, a waitress came along and helped us out. Not long after, we got our food, and it was horrible. The steak we ordered; which was suppose to be medium rare, was way over cooked and was not only extremely difficult to cut, but was barely edible. We ordered the barbecue ribs with steak and the ribs were lacking flavor, barbecue sauce, and was burnt. During this entire time, the waitress didn't check on us a single time. We had to ask an oncoming waiter to help us out. We called the manager over and told him to try to cut the steak, which to even he agreed that it was rough and difficult to cut. He then told us that, "since you already ate some of it, the best I can do is to give you a 15% off." However, We weren't asking for money compensation. In the end, though we did get the 15% off, we weren't expecting nor requesting a compensation of any kind. We just wanted them to know that giving a 15% off wasn't the best thing they can do. i came here last thursday and just was blown away by our waitress. my boyfriend and i were here to grab some food and watch the football game and didnt expect too much from sizzlers since its just like a buffet or dinner place... but to our surprise, our server/ waitress Ursula was super friendly and made our evening just perfect. she was very informative, got us our food super fast, and always promptly refilled our drinks and remembered our bread basket!!! she is such a genuine person and not just to us, while we were watching the game, i got nosy and just listened in to her conversating with the customers a little bit... they all know her and have been returning customers. she is just amazing, and i really mean it. she is so nice to everyone and knows how to treat her guests. she should be promoted!! if she isnt already:) the food came out good, and we were stuffed. the steak was good, and cooked to how i wanted, but i took most of it home since the salad bar got us full already. the steak sause was different, i wish they had A1 sauce, i can drink that stuff~! but it wasnt bad at all. great place to have family dinners and not just that, it can be sort of romantic too! haha read more

Went here on Wednesday 3/30. It is a great location. Great parking and a lot of people go here. Line forms right around 5:30pm. When I place my order the cashier seems to not be listening as he asks me to repeat what I just said. Talk about short term memory. This guy was up the like 10 second Tom. As I finished paying for my order, I slide over to get my beverages. I asked where's the juice for my daughter? She looks at the receipt and says you weren't rang up for one. Really guy? Guess she has to drink water. I didn't get the cashiers's name. He's the guy with the his hair tied up. Can't miss him. Make sure you're order is correct before you pay. The waiter was adequate as he only asked if my table needed anything else. I needed refills on my sofa and only asked if I wanted more shrimp once as I would had liked to be asked more than once. The food we ordered from the kitchen was good, but the salad bar was miserable. I have been to other Sizzlers that have awesome, HUGE, fresh salad bars. This one was very scaled back...not a lot of choices like I've seen in other Sizzlers. This Sizzler felt more like a "cafeteria" environment...I've never felt that way about other Sizzlers where I have eaten. From the moment we walked in we knew Sizzler had seen better days. I don't know when the change happened but you now make your selection from an oversized wall menu and order at a walk-up cashier like McDonalds. It really cheapens up the place. We ordered fried shrimp and salad bar, and steak and shrimp with the salad bar added. The salad bar advertises "hot appetizers" as well but they are really just dried out chicken wings and fried foods, some too overcooked to identify. The salad bar had deteriorated over the years too. The chopped up ham I remember so fondly from my childhood was no longer available and the pre-mixed salads merely globs of mayo with random vegetables. Not five minutes after ordering, our food arrived. Clearly everything is pre-made cafeteria style and tasted that way too. Before we left John already had indigestion from his steak and shrimp. I made a point to hit the best part of the place, the self-service ice cream bar. Although all the toppings were gone, the ice cream machine was still going strong. As I enjoyed my extra large bowl of ice cream I knew this was the last time I'd step foot in a Sizzler. I can't believe I let my friend MAKE me come here. We were in the area running errands and needed some food to keep moving. She said NO to Fresh Choice, (which IMO is a notch healthier/better than Sizzler). I didn't even bother to look at the menu since I've been trying to be vegetarian again so I got the salad bar buffet. Looking over the salad area I was appalled by how messy everything was. A fried chicken wing which obviously fell into the pasta sauce sat there and waited for help. Ground beef mixed into the guacamole. I was lucky that shortly after making a round someone brought out freshly fried wings. OMG, something edible. I make a bee-line for the chicken wings, even though I'm not suppose to eat chicken! I loved Sizzler as a kid. My favorite dish was the Malibu Chicken. It's a breaded piece of chicken topped with ham and swiss cheese served with a mustard and mayonnaise dipping sauce. I would occasionally go back to Sizzler as an adult for nostalgia purposes. I recently went back to order my usual dish. To my horror, they now have changed the dipping sauce. It now uses honey mustard, rather than regular yellow mustard. I asked the manager if the honey mustard and mayonnaise was correct. According to him, it was. He then handed me a bottle of mayo and a bottle of yellow mustard and said I could make my own sauce, which I did but it didn't taste the same. So sad they changed the sauce. Wish they would give an option of making the sauce the old way. I may be overreacting to something as simple as a dipping sauce. But the main reason I go is to remember going to Sizzler with my parents as a child and now that flavor has been changed. I guess some things end, and so this will be the last time I go to Sizzler. read more

For 10 bucks I got an entree and endless salad bar. The salad bar was disgusting! I didn't think it was possible to screw up a salad bar so hardcore. Massively disappointing nacho cheese. Food that like, never got replaced with new food. Then, when they did put out new food, everyone would attack. It was like Best Buy on the day after Thanksgiving when everyone is after the good deals, but instead of a tv, they're fighting over chicken wings. I have eaten at a lot of sizzler's mainly in the Valley and Nevada. They have all been ok; not great, but consistantly clean, good salad bars, etc. This sizzler is pathetic. The place is just downright dirty! The floors, tables, etc. The salad bar and hot food item area was void of many dishes, and kids are all over the place, without parent supervision, putting their hands into everything. The servers looked very unprofessional if not just gang bangers. When if came to dessert...the melting ice milk machine was dripping all over the floor(no other choices) and the toppings looked like they had all been mixed together. Anyone who's lived in this area for several years knows this particular restaurant needed a remodel. Yesterday the wife and I went there for an early dinner, we were totally impressed at how nice the remodel came out. Dining room is spacious, plenty of tables and chairs, but still enough room to walk to the salad bar. As always the entrées very good, steaks potatoes, and of course the famous melt sandwiches. If you want to, you can make a full meal out of the salad bar, there is chicken wings, always one type of pasta with meatballs, four different soups, you can even build your own burrito, and there is nachos and cheese sauce. It's $10 bucks each for the salad bar, or for $10 to $15 dollars, for an entrée, and then you get the salad bar for $5 instead of $10 with the full meal this is a bargain. Of course if you're a meat and potato Guy, get the entrée, but it's your choice. And don't forget to leave a little bit of room for the new ice cream sundae bar. One more thing since it is located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking. read more

His service was outstanding. He served us and the other tables the best way possible. He is so great and very professional in his job and work ethic. I absolutely love sizzler from my experiences in San Jose. I live in SF and tried the closest one which was the one on 5025 Junipero Serra Boulevard across from Target. Absolutely horrible service. Waiter looked like a gang banger. They brought us our steak burgers filled with so much greese the buns were soggy and greese all over the bottom of our plates. The waiter never did bring our ketchup so I had to go up to the front counter and beg for one. By the time I got back my burger was luke warm and soggy. Absolutely horrible service and food. This place sucks horribly. Since they remodeled they have gone way down hill. I used to go to the one on Gellert and they closed it. Too bad cause that place was nice. The remodel is great. But they are way short staffed, and a number of the staff seem to really hate their jobs. As most reviews have said, the salad bar is almost always a total disaster or lacking food. Especially the chicken wings...hello...management are you there? You know everyone goes for the chicken wings and yet the bin for them is about 12"X14"....I mentioned to a manager that they need to get a bigger bin for the chicken wings..he just smiled... they are constantly out and you have to wait forever for the next batch and then everyone is grabbing for them...(and lets not forget about the people who feel the need to fill their plates with almost the whole bin not caring about anyone but themselves). The salad bar is a constant mess...with the overhanging glass getting in your face as you try to grab some salad it's very difficult to hang on to it without making a mess. Then they have prongs for items that should have spoons and because of this stuff gets all over the place. There is nobody there to keep it clean and when the employees refill the bins you know what they do? instead of taking the old one out and putting the new one in and then topping it with what was left in the old bin...they just dump the new one on top of the old one!!! who knows how long that old stuff underneath has been there. I went to get some chocolate pudding and when I mixed it up the one underneath looked almost curdled. There seems to be absolutely no one managing anything. I've been there three times since they reopened and it's a total disaster each time. Children running all over the restaurant, children jumping on chairs and booths, food all over the floor at the salad bar and walking back to your table, and the salad bar looks like pigs just finished eating there. The line for the cashier is always a block long and the cashier is unpleasant. We were so disgusted last night we decided that was it. We will never return. read more

Get new managment if you want to stay in business! The remodel only improved the look of the place. The dishes are modern and make anything look tasty. The saladbar containers are much too small and not enough people to keep them stocked. The salad dressings get mixed and serving ladels have dressings dripped on the handles befasue you ahve to reach behind things. The lettuce has been surprisingly crispy. The guacamole has been barfingly disgusting...usually brownish greenish, sometimes way too salty and usually not enough lime. If the avocado has black spots, that should be scraped off, not mixed in, Yuck! It is either soupy or has big chunks as if someone was too lazy to break up the avocado. It is always the same old thing, nothing new or exciting like in the old days. The waiters not only bring food and extra plates, but they have to do all the janitorial cleaning up including the bathrooms. What happened to the night crew who did that. In order to get out on time without being paid overtime, they start cleaning up before all the customers have left. Occasionally a few people come in just before closing and there is not enough food although they paid the full price. Things are already covered and sometimes the last thing that should be cleaned, the ice cream machine is already shut off. If it were not for our favorite fabulous waiter, Jason, we would not be coming back to this place. We followed him from another Sizzler that closed. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY .. was charged nearly 60 dollars .. we were told as we paid that they were out of clean plates & soup bowls so we had to wait for those at our table (it was busy when we were there but surprised they were not prepared for prime dinner hours with clean dishes) .. we sat for nearly 20 minutes b/4 our server finally gave us clean dishes .. noticed everyone else getting bread so we asked about it .. was told it was on the way .. the steaks & baked potatoes we got are what we could expect from a chain .. but when we went to salad bar we were horrified at what we found .. it was FILTHY .. we went back to our table & asked for bread for a 2nd time & decided to wait to see if the salad bar mess was cleaned up .. we also noticed the dessert station was a total pig sty as well .. a total sticky mess .. ice cream dripping off every surface .. sauces drizzled everywhere & sprinkles topped the entire mess .. asked for bread for a 3rd time .. then asked for a manager .. was told the manager was too busy to visit us & were invited to call instead .. we left feeling ripped off & ignored .. btw .. never did get that bread either .. Hard to review this one. I am basing my review on my meal, my wife's meal, the salad bar, the service, and the yogurt obtained through the dispenser. I had not been to this Sizzler for MANY years until this past Monday. The cashier asked how I wanted my tri-tip steak cooked. I told her I did not want my steak really pink, but just a little bit of pink showing. She said that would be "medium well," so that is how I ordered it. I did not see any pink at all when I ate it, and it was tough and chewy. My broccoli was a bit undercooked, unless that is the style they do it. I tasted my wife's salmon, and it was quite good. I had only a few items from the salad bar (meatballs, faux crab salad, and a few other items, and they were passable. I left the table to get a refill for my soda. Someone got it for me in the kitchen. Our waitress saw me returning to the table with it, and she apologized for not noticing I needed more soda. I simply did not know the procedure and if refills were even given, so that is why I got up and asked. No reflection on the waitress, and I told her not to worry about it. I got up so quickly to get a refill after my drink glass was empty, that the waitress probably did not have much chance to spot my empty drink glass. In all other respects, she was a very good waitress, pleasant and efficient. The yogurt was tasty.
