Ordered a meal thru door dash , my order was canceled about an hour later when it was supposed to arrive

the staff wasn't good, but the staff wasn't all that bad either.Some things that the cash register said were a bit confusing, but i was able to manage. (she spoke english.)The wait was about less than 15 minutes. The only problem i have is the food. I ordered the fresh grilled salmon and the size was smaller than i expected and it tasted very bland.My sister enjoyed her meal but my mom and dad weren't a huge fan of theirs. And now for the dessert..my sister got cookies and cream ice cream(because it was the only option they had. Other than the soft serve that wasn't working.) I'm not some employee writing a review about their job to build it up. The food was okay not really the best. This is the first time my family and I have gone to Sizzler. We decide to try it out since one of our family member recommends the place to us for a try. We came and the place was a bit messy. The salad bar there were just food pieces everywhere and some on the floor as well. We saw the menu and look at it for a while since we didn't really know what to get. The cashier waited till we were ready but she didn't smile or anything just took our order. The steak came with a side and instead of asking what we wanted for the side she just put down baked potatoes. I really wish she gave some help and maybe offer her opinion about what we should try as well. The thing that was the best for me was the waiter. He was nice and attentive. When we ask for something he would bring them right out and when we had a problem it was fix right away. He always had a smile on his face each time. Just went for dinner tonight with my hubby. I haven't been to Sizzler in a very long time. Great to see the same people working there. Our server was Ahmad . He has been there for many, many years. I even remember when I was a little girl he would always help us. Super nice and friendly. You can tell he really enjoys his job and makes you feel very welcomed with his smile and attentions. Everyone we came in contact with was great. The cashier was very helpful as well. The food was good. I had ribs and my hubby had the Malibu Chicken , which he enjoyed as well. Not just this Sizzler... The Sizzler in general. A relic from the seventies that never updated. I went there today because my friend chose it over my objections. The steaks were flat, as if compressed by a machine. My steak was ordered medium rare and was raw. It came in two pieces... a small disconnected piece next to the main piece. The small piece tasted quite foul... I had to spit the piece I cut from it out. It obviously had been taken from somewhere else... maybe the kitchen floor. You only get to order one side... why not two? I absolutely love their buffet salad bar! They have Asian edamame slaw, kale salad with cranberries, tuna pasta salad, spaghetti, soups and more. Only $5.99 with a meal and $12.99 by itself. There's a long line on the weekends but it's definitely worth it. read more

Took my boys to eat at Sizzlers In Hayward by the old toys r us. I'm not a big fan so I ordered the salad bar. We asked our waiter for the dinner rolls with the sweet butter. When the bread came there was a huge black hair underneath the rolls so before I returned them I punched a hole in the 4 rolls with my nail. I calmly called the waiter and asked that he toss these away and to please bring us some more. Few minutes later another waiter brings us THE SAME FREAKIN ROLLS, gross! They only switched the rolls from a plate to a basket. I know these were the same ones because of the nail holes I made.. smh I was pissed off and you can see it in my face. I called the manager over and explained what happened. Can't believe a food place rather lose a customer then to lose 4 bread rolls.. I knew I didn't like Sizzlers for a reason.. read more

This review is specifically about my doordash order. We were missing a clam chowder which is no big deal really, it could've been the driver who knows. The steak I ordered medium rare and received medium well, it was also extremely dry that it almost felt like sandpaper to my tongue. The other clam chowder that we did receive tasted alright but after a few bites the taste quality would start to show. The mashed potatoes were a joke. As a former box mash potatoes lover in high school, that's exactly what I received. I'll never forget what it tastes like compared to actual mashed potatoes. This confused me bc why not just, I don't know, MASH potatoes?? The bread was good, as usual. Sizzlers bread is always great. But holy cow they really need to change the pictures they show on doordash bc the piece of steak I received, compared to the photo they provide, is actually laughable. When we opened the container and saw it, we actually began dying of laughter and how horrible it looked. It came pretty fast, so I know it didn't just age with time. Note: I should also add I've been coming to this sizzler for YEARS as in over 10 years, bc it was my dads go-to family night out restaurant. And I can confirm that every. single. time I've ordered a steak (medium rare), since I was like 9 years old, it's always been cooked incorrectly and been extremely dry. Salad bar all day every day. Okay, I was being dramatic. I probably don't want the salad bar every day, but I can see myself eating it all day considering how diverse their selection. I've recently been avoiding bread and I was happily surprised that I was able to eat a great meal with just the salad bar. There are some great salads that are pre-made. Taste great with some fresh ingredients. Some of the best clam chowder I've had, and who doesn't like nachos? Also, sizzler has one of the best tasting ribeye steaks I have ever had. All for $20 or so. Not a fan of their chicken or steak, so I simply stick to what I know is good here. read more

My husband is very picky and he noticed that the mashed potatoes are not boxed but made fresh. The salad bar was stocked with fresh ingredients and was nice and clean. "Great steaks, seafood, & salad" ....yep, I found myself @ Hayward's Sizzler this past Sunday for din w/ my sis & 3 couzins. Good food & great service =) LOCATION: Intersection of Winton Ave & Hesperian Blvd inside shared parking lot to Toys R Us, & next to Tomodachi Sushi Bistro. Plenty of parking in shared lot, but likely may have to drive around to find a spot. Restaurant itself is spacious, clean, & friendly-ready for anyone. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday early evening. Not much of a long line @ register, & a few tables/booths left to chose from. CUST SVC: The staff here overall awesome customer service! Cashier was patient with all of us putting in our orders. Table Hop/Busser friendly w/ drinks & helpful combining 2 tables together for us (that's right, we all need our elbow space when it's eating time..have no time to squeeze all our cakes inside no flippin' booth). Our waiter, Ahmad, was an older gent w/ a lot of spunk/character, but definitely great cust svc. Thorough w/ check up, prompt fulfilling a request, & quite friendly. Unsure if this geezer was flirting w/ us @ times, but he did seem geniune...be on the look out for Ahmad. Keep up the good work team ;-) FOOD: I got the $13 Endless Shrimp *muuuhahaha*! Yes, I hurt myself...my sis was pushing me since I ordered it...she's my cheerleader. Others got burgers & steak. All of us were happy w/ our entrees. The salad buffet bar clean, plentiful, fresh, & tasty w/ veggies, dessert (ice cream machine was out of order...i know, WTH!), & soups. Their clam chowder soup was pretty good I have to say. Banana Pudding was yummy...my vanilla wafer cookies weren't soggy @ all *KUDOS*. END OF DINNER: End of our meal we wrap it up w/ 2-go containers, get the tab for about $100 bucks (another entree 2-go), & leave pymt on the table. Our waiter, Ahmad, comes over to give his speech about call this ph# to say how his svc was yada yada yada. Well, we gather our purses, fix the chairs, Ahmad comes over to say thanks & come again, but also then says "Where did you leave the tip...here on the table or up front w/ cashier?" I could not HELP but to give a dumb look to my sista like "I'm sorry, did he just ask that?". Well my couz was polite & let him know she had it in her hand & was planning to give it to him, at which he took & thanked again for our visit. My older couz said likely in his culture it's ok to be that straight fwd...before we make it back to the car, I realized his nationality had nuthin' to do wit' it...he asked 'cuz we're in Hayward, where some spots are ghetto & some folks can be ghetto. If cash was left on the table, it could've been possible that a non-employee would've noticed & snatched it up when no one was looking. Hence why my couz was going to hand tip to him; mom & dad taught all of us right! All in all, great service & good food. My overall experience at this place was terrible. It all started when I walked into the restaurant; I was at the front counter ready to place my order and there's three people standing around doing nothing. After I made my presence known (because it wasn't already), a guy named Ricky took my order. Ricky was politely rude, he seemed like he was new there because he stopped and double checked himself a little too often. So I ordered my food and went to sit down with the rest of the family. The service was shitty, my water cup remained empty a majority of the evening. Jose, our server finally comes and brings me my food, upon his arrival my grandma asked him to bring her a spoon, (she's in a wheel chain and hard a hard time maneuvering throughly the crowded restaurant... ) Jose never came back. My steak was cooked perfect on one half and completely over done on the other. So I decided to smother it in steak sauce. I walked back to the front of the restaurant and asked Ricky for some steak sauce. At first he ignored me, and then when I asked again he said, " I can't help you, you'll have to find a server." I told him that there was no servers and that is why I got up and asked him. HE PUT HIS HAND UP TURNED HIS HEAD AND STARTED TALKING TO ANOTHER EMPLOYEE. I was starved this past week and craving lobster and steak. so I went to Sizzler for the first time in years. The staff is friendly and service is quick. The salad bar is nice, but more pricey than I expected. The lobster was good, but this poor little 3.5" long tyke was barely out of his daycare center on the bottom of the ocean before a mean old lobster fisherman tricked him into a one-way elevator ride to the waiting fishing boat. It looked more like a Jumbo Shrimp split down the middle and spread open!! Four bites and I was done with this tasty little morsel. But now comes the serious flaw: STEAK. No specific cut of meat is mentioned on the menu in this "Steak and Lobster" special. With my first bite of steak, I chewed and chewed and chewed to the point I finally had to admit defeat and took a "time out". I discreetly used my napkin and fingers to pull out a sinewy wad of fat fiber and hid it on my salad plate. My mighty Incisor teeth and molars had finally met their match!! (200 pounds per square inch is the average bite strength for humans). The next bite wedged another fat string tightly between two molars. When I tried to pull it out, a slingshot "twang" sound rang out at the release point, and this action catapulted a tiny 'fat cannonball' spinning into the infinity of space beyond my booth. I quickly scanned the faces of all the surrounding dining customers. Thankfully, there were no reactions from anyone, so where this fat projectile landed shall remain a mystery forever. My starving stomach demanded that I march on, defiantly attacking all sides of the meat steak impersonator on the plate.I tried a third bite. Predictably, it was just as flawed as the others. I almost found Nirvana at the beginning of my fourth bite, but alas, that jubilation ended abruptly when a peculiar, long cord of tough sinew became entangled between my tongue and my molars. Somehow, this tough got wedged between two molars, and my tongue could not dislodge it. It was stretched tighter than thong underwear stuck high inside the crotch of Kim Kardashian. When I finally pryed this strand free, I carefully laid it onto a napkin to inspect it. I marveled at how this cord of fat must be a secret formula used by astronuats for tether cords tied to their space suits during space walks. (Could this explain why UFO's dissect cattle and leave their remains out in the pastures? Has the secret formula of stringy beef fat been compromised by Alien proctologists?) Meanwhile, back on Earth: I made a dignified complaint to the friendly waitress/bus person, who was very pleasant and promptly replaced it with a better steak and fresh, hot french fries. At first, this new steak cut looked promising, but sadly, this latest steak was a Zebra of a different stripe. My best guess is that this slab of cow flesh was enroute to the Florsheim Shoe factory before a detour delivered it to the Sizzler instead. Too bad for Forsheim - this giant disc of jerky could have been a prime contender to be sewn onto the sole of a shoe with a lifetime warranty! But instead, it wound up on my plate, compliments of the chef. (Perhaps "Chef" knew fully well how tough this meat was and he sent this out on my plate as an act of vengeance.) My shoulders slumped and I finally surrended to the lost battle. My craving for steak that night turned into a meager subsistence of french fries and salad. The bottom line? Don't ever go to a corporate, fast-food clone like Sizzler and expect to get a quality steak... especially if you pay $25-$30 for opportunity!! read more

I admit, I like eating at Sizzler. The food is far from awesome but it's also far from awful. I do love their Malibu Chicken, probably because I think is laced with crack! jk! Not to mention, they have a decent salad bar, probably one of the only non-buffet restos around that actually still offers a salad bar. But the biggest reason why I like Sizzler is because of the nostalgia of eating there, it reminds me of my early years, as they still offer the same food as they did XX-years ago, when I was a kiddo. This location in particular seems to get pretty busy compared to the other locations I've been to and it helps that the staff is also much friendlier too. Our server was quite excellent, hope he realizes that he's Cheesecake Factory material and he could be making way better money and tips. The serve freshly baked dinner rolls now but I'm sorry, it's all about the Cheese Toast, which they still offer if you ask for it. Also, gotta love my fellow Sizzler patrons...hungry and impatient. During the last visit, I didn't even get to eat some of their chicken wings at the salad bar because they were just too popular. If it was Wingstop chicken, I'd understand but...come on! People...you don't have to pile on your plates so high...you can go back (unless you only got a one-way salad with your meal) you won't die of hunger, trust me! read more

I loved this place for the A.U.C.E. salad bar. If you plan on going here just sign up to join their club, you'll get by email a B1G1 entree. I signed up then about an hr later I got an email. So the place was cool (temperature wise), greeted at the register, paid & got our seats. Salad bar was a nice assortment of greens, toppings, dressing, pasta salads, fruits, a taco bar, chicken wings , desserts (mousse, ambrosia, banns pudding & soft serve ice cream. That's plenty to get you full, around $10/ person, not bad. (get yourself a coupon & the person you come with eats free) This place was clean, friendly service, attendant at the salad bar to make sure items were filled as needed. Fresh plates were brought to our table in a timely manner. Our water brought cheese bread, but wants to fill up on bread? It was tempting though, it was piping hot & smelled good. My son got the All Americn Trio it was BBQ ribs, chicken, shrimp & fries. With a shot of cole slaw (ew) he said it was good. We came around 4:30 on a Saturday, so we can beat the rush. Last time I was here was about 12 years ago. And this place has gone down really bad from what I remember. For one thing, the steaks are not "sizzling" anymore. I loved the cheese toast My son ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes, well done. (The lad has no respect for steak). They served it charred. We had to send it back. I had the trio combo. The medium steak was not bad, the crunchy shrimp was ok, but the Malibu chicken was cold and rubbery. My wife got the ribs, which was pretty decent. It was fall off the bone tender. Big portion, too. But when we asked for a to go box for the leftover ribs, we got aluminum foil and a paper sandwich bag. Waitress was really nice. But still not coming back. read more

I want to honor and acknowledge our server, his name was either Jose or Juan (which is why I shouldn't wait a week to Yelp, SORRY :-( ). He was AWESOME! Very organized, checked in with good timing, friendly, professional. Remember folks, it was a Saturday night and he was balancing us with salad bar plates, all you can eat shrimp plates, as well as everyone else he was helping. Job well done! The gal at the salad bar was helpful as well directing me to croutons and refilling them as they were low. The steak was very good. The meatballs in the salad bar are a personal fave. The guacamole in the salad bar was exceptional as well! The staff were so sweet, one of their own had a birthday and they had a cake for her. They brought her out to the dining room, along with a cluster of staff and they invited customers to sing along. I even saw one gal off shift waiting so she could be part of the festivities, that's great on the camaraderie aspect! read more

We will never go here again. It took 30 minutes to stand in line (only six people in line), the counter behind the cashier was dirty and disgusting and that's where she grabbed our plates from. The buffet was nothing special a few things, but I rather go to a full buffet. It took an hour to get our food. The waiter even asked if we wanted it to go. Manager seemed like he could care less. Odd and again, HIGHLY appalling behavior. Um disgusting..I love Sizzler and the one in San Leandro is great. Came here at lunch last week.. waited in line for 30 minutes.. had to order my entree to go after the wait. There were no soup bowls. The food was awful.. all the dressings, nacho cheese, even pudding seemed like they had mixed it with water. All super thin and runny and no flavor. GREAT MEAL! GREAT STAFF! Every time we come here, the servers are so friendly and hard working. They make for a pleasant meal. The salad bar is excellent. It's probably better if you come a bit earlier--we went at 6:30 tonight and they had lots of everything and it was all fresh! Prices are quite reasonable. The only reason to pay more for a dinner is if the venue has a view of the Bay or something. Screw "ambiance." Give me some tasty food and good service! I don't need fancy china or "art" on the walls. But I like a clean restaurant and this place is just that. Only complaint is the layout is a bit poorly planned. If you need to use the restroom, you have to go back through the line of folks lined up waiting to order their food. "Excuse me, excuse me." People are polite, though, maybe because they are going to get some good food without emptying their wallet. Customers always seem happy and cheerful here. It's nice to get food quickly, especially being able to visit the salad bar before your entree arrives. Sizzler is just fine by me. read more

In my extwensive trwavels with my Mwommy and Dwaddy, we hwave bween in a lwot of Sizzler's as thwey lwove the swalad bwar! We have prwobably bween in no lwess than ten of them, most about average. This one is excweptional! The swervice is excellwent! The attitudes of everywone is wery gwood! And it is obviously wery well mwanaged, judging from how clean everthing is, including the salad bar--and the manager, must manage by example, judging from observing him helping with cleaning. The only downfall we could see is that the place is wery, wery bwusy! But how else would you expect to find it!
