So glad we decided to try this Sizzler. It had been 10 years or so since we ate at a Sizzler and I kept meaning to try this one. I love Malibu Chicken and it was as I remembered. Jose the server couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The salad bar is fresh and tasty. I didn't like the french fries. The rolls and cheese toast are yum yum!! I haven't been to a Sizzler for ages. This place was remodeled last year and looks very nice. I had the salad bar, it has a very good selection. When I came back from my second trip, I found the busboy had cleaned up my table. He dumped my drink, my dinner roll, my utensils, and napkins, and trashed my receipt. I told him I wasn't finish and he just shrugged and apologized. This ticked me off. I had to grab my own new setting from his station. He did replace my water. Later the waitress came by asking how everything was. I complained about how their system doesn't work. How am I supposed to mark my station so the busmen know I'm not leaving yet? She said, leave my sunglasses at the table. My $150.00 Maui Jim's? No way! The way they divide up stations, there is a different waitress on each side of the aisle. This is poor management. They are not in control of their sections, and have not sense of taking care of people. Also, when I paid at the entrance with my credit card and put the tip on the card, they handed me the cash and asked me to put it on the table. That is what I did, and now I think that is why the busman thought I had left. The waitress brought me out a new roll. They spend all this money on remodeling, but the system of service is the same as it has been for decades. I recall when Sizzler's was a great steak house. Now it is just a AYCE place. The last time I had a steak, it tasted like it was grilled in old, reused grease. Meh! read more

It's a Sizzler, so we're not talking about a fancy restaurant. But, it is really solid for an affordable, healthy meal. My wife and I go here maybe twice a month and always enjoy the fresh, clean salad bar. If you don't order steak, you can still request a baked potato with your salad bar order and that's delicious with all the toppings you can add. We love this place. read more

So I haven't been to a Sizzlers in probably 15+ years, but after some convincing, my friends and I came here for dinner and wow, Sizzlers has definitely improved and this place is definitely underrated! I just got the AYCE salad bar $13 which is priced pretty much the same as Souplantation, but this AYCE salad bar includes so much more and even has meat! The salad bar has a lot of options. They have a small selection of soups and they have a taco/nacho bar -Yum! I even dipped into the "kids" section for some really good mac and cheese, onion rings and chicken nuggets. What's best here is the CHEESE TOAST which is served at your table and is complimentary and UNLIMITED! Service here is very friendly and attentive. They also have large plasmas all around so you can watch the game while you eat and eat and eat. I also appreciate how you can go back to the salad bar easily, unlike Souplantation where you have to go back in line or cut in front of people for another helping. read more

Arrived for dinner and it was crowded. Watched the Tv in line. They were advertising they had a T bone steak. When it was time to order I asked cashier if they had the t bone. His response was yes. We sat down at the table wanted 10 minutes for witness to come to the table. She repeated the order. She bought the drinks and bread back. 30 minutes after we ordered the waitress she returned to tell me they don't serve the t bone anymore. read more

As a truck driver I've eaten at a lot of different Sizzlers,Steak houses and multiple truck stop restaurants in all 48 states I was pleasantly surprised with this place even though it was a little crowded.The meal along with the salad bar left me completely stuffed I had to crawl into to my sleeper and go to sleep I wish all Sizzlers where on this level The food was great I like the fact that they have you check your steak right when they bring it to you a lot of restaurants bring you your food and then come back 20 min. later to see if every thing is okay.My server was a gentleman named Craig very pleasant,professional,&attentive Very refreshing I've dealt with alot of wait staff that act as if your impositioning them by being there I will go out of my way to return to this Sizzler when ever I'm in So.Orange County If all Sizzlers could measure up to the Lake Forest one.Start a petition and throw Denny's out of the Flying J's you have my vote. This is one of the best Sizzler locations around. Have been going to Sizzler since we moved to So.Cal. in the 90's, the company really did themselves a favor when they revamped this location. The salad bar provides a great many choices and is usually kept fully stocked. I love the potato skins, cheese toast and onion rings in particular. During my recent visit Jose took good care of me and made it a very pleasant experience. I will definitely return. read more

My wife and I had lunch there today and the food was great and our server Elisabeth was friendly and prompt. Even though the place was busy with lunch guests she took extra time to refill our drinks and make sure we had everything we needed. I love steak. I have been to multi steak restaurants in the $35 a plate range. Recently I went to the 333 in Newport for steak. The next day I went to Sizzler on El Toro road Lake Forest. The steak was hands down better than the 333. Flavor relied on meat quality rather than over spicing. The crust and saltyness perfect, tender, just great. The veggies were ordinary but nicely cooked. As a Brit I like gravy on my veggies but that is unusual here in the States. After living here for 38 years I still would like some gravy. Service friendly and efficient, clean well managed restaurant. Would be 5 stars if I had gravy. read more

Very nice service however, we had to send our food back multiple times. We ordered sirloin steak well done with a side of potatoes. We received medium and rice. We had to send it back and it came back again medium!! Then we ordered salmon and one was fine but the other was raw. This is a safety concern. I've been to other Sizzlers but this one was NOT the best. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was kind and helpful which is the only reason they don't get 1 star. read more

I've been in several Sizzlers over the years and this one has the best variety of food in their salad bar. I drive 25 minutes past several other Sizzlers in order to get to this one. My husband likes to frown and pick another restaurant when I tell him I crave Outback or Sizzler. And he probably has a good reason for doing so usually. That is, until I introduced him to this particular AMAZING Sizzler. That's right. Amazing. My nose-in-the-air-foodie husband has been to this Sizzler with me at least 3 times now (which is saying something since we're from the SF Bay Area), and he loves it every time. Why? Because the steaks are always cooked consistently, AND the waiter encourages you to check your steak before accepting it to make sure it is cooked to the proper temperature. Awesome. The salad bar has ALWAYS been clean, and food appears fresh as well. This restaurant is consistent in the best way, and brings a good name to all other Sizzlers (though to be honest, none others I've been to so far can match the bar that is set so high by this one). On our last visit, we spied the manager not only taking orders from guests, but also meticulously cleaning the salad bar, and inspecting cleanliness from other areas of the restaurant. The new rebuilt Sizzler is nice and clean. I can go back there anytime. Before it was rebuilt, it was just nasty. The restrooms smelled badly. It is very inviting now. The food is just typical Sizzler. Be prepare to a long waiting line if you go at dinner times, especially in the weekends. I hope they continue to do good business. read more

Once apon a time this Sizzler was pretty bad in Food, service and quality. Then they put a lot of money into this Sizzler to remodel and make it better. Since this Sizzler has been remodeled, it started out really good, but in the last month or so... each week I have visited (usually on Fridays for dinner) and it has gone from good to bad to worse with each visit. The remodel has made it more like a sports bar than a steak house, which I guess isn't all that bad, but it can get rather noisy in there at times and I definitely would not recommend eating here if you desire a romantic dinner, or even if a quiet conversation is your cup of tea.. Tonight we had the Steak and Lobster special - The meat from the lobster shell was about 1/4th the Shell size (or about 1/2 less the amount we've got on previously ordered same item) and as if that wasn't bad enough the 6 oz Steak had at least 2 oz of fat - half of which I ate before I began to get sick from the fat overload. The salad bar never changes (which might be a mixed blessing, because if the food they prepare ALL the time tastes this bad, imagine how horrible food they aren't used to making would have tasted?) The waiters and the servers were good and I hold no problems with them, but the manager was too "business like" (when it comes to customer's complaints and the store's bottom line costs - then I guess the customer, or at least this one, is never right) and he seemed to think that a customer's complaint was a waste of his time, and that my business wasn't needed there anyway. I admit, They do have a big crowd on Fridays, so Bully for him. Thus when I inquired how I could get a refund of the gift cards that friends have given me for my birthday and Christmas it seems he was amused, because "unless there was less than $10 balance left on the card (one of which I haven't yet used is for $100) I wouldn't get nothing back"! So I must eat at a restaurant, where the food is trying to make me sick, and be taunted by a manager, if I want to get anything out of the gifts friends gave me in good faith? Well, maybe It probably won't matter in this day and age of apathy, but I'll be sure to tell all my friends to avoid this place from now on. I just don't want to help bad food places prosper when there are so manny good places going under in this bad economy. I will admit this Sizzler on El Toro is good at one thing... they are pretty good at being bad. - I know I won't be going there any more. PS: I guess I should give that gift card of mine to an enemy next time I'm obligated to give a gift to one of them. read more

I have been to this Sizzler several times and have always enjoyed the food. The interior was remodeled and is very sharp looking and clean. The best part was the staff and especially our waitress who was so accommodating and pleasant. She went way above and beyond in attentive service and checked often if we needed anything. Never eat here again. We spend almost $40 for 2 people and a kid. 2 plates and 2 salad bars. My kid didn't feel well. He said he has a stomach pain and wanted to go home. All the food lay down over the table. We asked for Togo box. They said they don't have it. "If you want the food,(that we paid for) you have to wrap it yourself in foils." They gave us a couple if sheets of foils and 2 paper bags with a picture of dog on it. What! first I have to wrap my expensive food in foils and put in a little bag with a picture of dog. I didn't pay $40 for dog food!!!! BAD BAD idea. I paid full price for everything. I didn't get discount or didn't get those food for free. I didn't beg for that food. I PAID FOR IT! read more

so the first time i walked in here it was kinda ghetto in the sense that everyone seemed so trashy, the second time i went here and so on its been great experience, i try to go when they have their 9.99 special for unlimited shrimp with a steak and tend to get the salad bar....good service most of the time but always very exceptable service just some waitresses are better than others as to be expected....i recommend goign for a good semi cheap meal...and all you can eat! read more

We just came back from the El Toro Sizzler. We usually enjoy Sizzler food very much. tToday was a huge exception. This is important. If you get a blond waitress named Lupe, change tables ! This girl ranged from indifferent to invisible to rude to lazy. She would not bring us the water we asked for . We asked for rolls three time. When they finally arrived they were hard and cold. She brought ice tea instead of the lemonades we ordered. Worse of all the entrees were cold !! Cold ribs, steak and shrimp !! Of course we wanted to tell her but she never came back. I give it 5 stars because based on what they do, they do it very very well. it's not your grandma's Sizzler any more. The one has been remodeled both the building and the food. The salad bar is more than just greens and jello. Everything is fresh and made in-house, even the soups and dressings they said! They have great fried chicken wings that are large and juicy and you can put Franks Red Hot on them from a squeeze bottle. The salad bar has modern and healthy salads with things like quinoa and kale. The steaks are still the star and if you want a tenderized aged usda choice steak (ribeye, sirloin, tri-tip) without paying $$$ then this is the place to go. Yes, they still give you cheese bread if you ask for it, otherwise you get fresh baked bread rolls which are almost as good. The service is timely and efficient. They always have specials so if you arent a steak fan, you can get cedar planked salmon (my usual choice) which is cooked to creamy goodness, not dried-out overdone. And AYCE shrimp! And right now, BBQ with 4 or 5 different things to pick from. My salad bar tips: nachos-get the warm chips, go back to the salad bar and add some grated cheddar cheese. Go back to the hot bar and pour on enough cheese sauce to melt the cheddar. soft serve-take a cone and pour some caramel around the rim of the cone into the cells. drop a few M&Ms into the bottom then add the softserve. Sizzler's mission statement as well as many other businesses is to provide immaculate customer service. Which is great from a business standpoint and usually is delivered but this review is to bring awareness of what happens behind closed doors. The employees are treated unfairly. I know many people who work at this location and hear nothing but negative feedback and wrong doings. Employees have to work on all holidays and the pay rate doesn't change. There is no real opportunity for growth within the company and makes the employees feel unappreciated for their hard work. Many employees have quit working for a bad company like Sizzler and I would never recommend anybody to work for them. Also the amount of work is not worth the hourly wage. Personally I will not give them my business until they go back to the drawing board and change their business model and improve this area which needs much attention and improvement! read more
