I visited the Pocatello Sizzler for a quick dinner while traveling in the area. I am quite happy I went. I chose a quick dinner of Teriyaki steak and a side of mashed potatoes with country gravy. The meal also came with 2 slices of crispy toast. Thanks to Josh for the recommendation! The steak was cooked exactly as I requested and had zero grizzle - I ate it all. The sauce was a tad sweet, but I still found myself dipping my toast in it. The country gravy was the right choice for the mashed potatoes. I probably could have just eaten a bowl of that. Food was hot and yummy! All you can eat shrimp was fantastic. Salad bar is always fresh and replenished. Service is friendly and quick to refill drinks or get some more shrimp. The Texas toast last time was the best I have ever had! We love the $5 discount in the paper flier weekly if you spend more then $25. Love their strawberry lemonade or the Lime Ricky and other non-alcoholic beverages. We frequently here a few times a month! Steak is wonderful and cooked to order, get it with mushrooms too! I'm not sure why this Sizzler has such a low rating. Yes it is a Sizzler but better than most restaurants in this area, especially for the price. First, the salad bar was fresh and varied. It was constantly monitored and refreshed. The tables were cleaned as soon as customers left. The whole restaurant was extremely clean. The wait staff were prompted and super sweet. My meal, steak and lobster was actually better than I'd have at 5 star restaurants - sorry but true. I'm a foodie and have eaten in restaurants all over the world. Basic salad bar is good. I usually order their Malibu chicken with rice pilaf and Texas cheese toast. Hubby had steak and shrimp. Their ice cream machine was broken and their brownies aren't worth the calories, so I had fruit and pudding for dessert. The tables next to the windows had air conditioning blasting full blast when it was cool outside during a rainstorm but supposedly they couldn't turn it down or off. Plenty of parking. I've dined at Sizzler Steakhouses before, but only in Thailand. After seeing this location and noticed the same logo, I had to stop. After reading some reviews on Yelp, I was guarded in my expectations. I will say that I was terribly pleased with a great ordering experience, well managed Salad bar area, hot bar was very nice too but I would add some lighting and food labels. Food on the salad bar seemed fresh and all was flavorful. I was rather surprised with my steak after ordering an expensive ribeye at a restaurant up north, it wasn't half as good as my Sizzler Signature. Not a fan of having to pick what you want before paying or being able to ask questions about the menu items. Way way way over priced for mediocre food. $95 for 5 to eat!! The steak was good. But the Malibu Chicken was awful it is basically a frozen chicken patty with deli ham & Swiss on top. On the bacon cheeseburger the bacon was burnt! The chicken on the chicken club was cold but burnt on outside. "Bottomless Shrimp" was not a deal at all as the waitress didn't come by to offer more. The hostess didn't know the difference between a rock and split lobster tail. Very very disappointed. We left hungry and feeling cheated out of $100. My wife loves the salad bar here. It is quite good. I ,however, don't care for this place and here are my reasons: - The service isn't great. I am not sure if it is because you are understaffed or because you don't care. I constantly see servers leaning or disappearing. I have issues having to wait too long to get my drink refilled. - Tables are never bussed. Almost every time we come in, i see a whole row of tables with dishes piled on them. I see tables not even get touched the entire duration we are present. This is pretty ridiculous. I hope you read this and take into consideration of these faults and try to mend them. Stopped by last Sunday and the salad bar was great and the chicken decent(small but OK).Overall nice and neat dinner experience,however I was not alone , but with my family and little kids are known to have smaller bladder. I wish I had not seen their bathroom.The urinal was placed way too high not just for a kid but for not so tall adult.Using their bathroom stall was not a desired alternative since it was covered with chunks of stuff from previous customer(s?)...Luckily for us washing hands was possible(the water ran and there was some soap yay !) but drying our hands was not an option...Paper dispenser was out of order ad there was no other alternative such as a blow dryer. The Idaho Food Code specifies , that employees are to clean hands and parts of their arms that are exposed, including prosthetics, for 20 seconds minimum. They are to wash in an approved lavatory with a cleaning compound. They need to make sure to scrub ALL areas vigorously including between arms, fingers, fingertips, and underneath fingernails. The funny thing is that the law says nothing about drying of the washed hands so wiping them off on your T shirt should be OK both for customer and employees. read more

I'm usually a sizzler fan, but this time was definitely my worst experience. Over 20 minutes with no drinks or silverware. I finally went and got my own, and it was dirty. The server was over worked and never got us anything we asked for. No Texas toast for the whole visit, and half of the food was too cold or uneatable. I totally appreciate how well kept the salad bar is... very clean. Fresh veggies, great fruits, yummy salads. My biggest complaint is they don't keep up with the hot items on the salad bar, such as the taco bar and the wings. We went just a couple nights ago, they ran out of wings, and I waited 45 minutes for more to be put out, and eventually we just left. I don't think that is appropriate when you're paying $12 for an "all inclusive" salad bar. The servers have attitude when you ask if something is going to be restocked, and they don't have any wing sauce. Seems odd to me that a chain restaurant could be so behind on supply and demand. Sizzler is known for its delicious steaks and grilled fish & it didn't disappoint. Had the grilled salmon and all-you-can-eat salad bar & it was perfect. Salad bar was clean, well maintained & restocked, and had a pleasant presentation. The salmon was perfectly cooked, with all of its juices still inside, and grilled well on the outside sealing in the flavor. I had the endless shrimp and steak. The shrimp were so overcooked there was pretty much nothing but breading plus it was as hard as a rock, my steak was over cooked as well. The server was very rude and inconsiderate and probably shouldn't be working customer service. I have never been treated so poorly before in my life. Garbage food, garbage service. read more

Tonight we went back to our favorite sizzler. It was saturday night march 4th so we expected service to take some time. Getting there everything was fine and spent only 50$ for two people. My boyfriends bacon wrapped steak was great, i wish i could say mine was. It was cooked all the way through even for a medium cook, tasted very odd and just plain nasty. Sadly i had to ask my waitress, Tara, for a new one and she gladly brang me a one. For some reason it tasted awful too and was then bleeding all over my new plate... (My partner also agreed they tasted horrible.) I didnt want to send it back for a second time so i just left both. I also got the endless ship along with my steak but again sadly never got a second helping. My family used to love to come here. Not so much now. The food is always overdone, there are always children using their grubby hands on the food in the salad bar. My son ordered a rib steak cooked rare. After the third time sending it back, he just ate the darn thing medium well. I ordered the steak, medium rare, and all you can eat shrimp. My meal came medium well, with the shrimp so cooked it was crunchy all the way through. My daughter ordered the 9 piece giant shrimp and was shorted 3 Shrimp, and it was over cooked as well. She was overcharged for her meal as well. The manager on duty came out, questioned us as if we were trying to cheat her. Left abruptly and came back, put $2.00 on the table and walked away. If this was a one time occurrence then we can deal, but it's not, and we won't deal. So done. The only reason I gave this rating 2 stars was because our server, Lexy, was very good. read more

Bad service, when you pay over ten dollars for a salad bar and you wait for over a half hour for chicken wings that every sizzler has, and then they only make 5 of them at a time and "oh that other guy must have stole them" I consider that pretty bad. For $10 you get a salad bar and drink. The salad bar is overstocked with fresh greens and tacos--simply the best of Pocatello. They have clam chowder everyday, and it is the best I have had here. Spend a lot of time in Pocatello on business, and this is a spot we frequent 3 times a week or more. If you don't get steak served on a skillet, then things are pretty mediocre. Good prices, but poor on details. About the only thing worth eating on the salad bar were the brownie squares. The pineapple was way under-ripe, the chicken I had was cold, the salad was limpy, the salad bar was untidy, the hot food at the salad bar had crusted over on some dishes like it had sat all day there. Sizzler has always been a safe bet for a relatively quick meal with a wide variety of foods to satisfy different tastes. However, this franchise was dirty and the service ungracious, to say the least. The cashier was chewing gum and completely disinterested in taking our 5 person order. Our waitress, while not unpleasant, obviously lacked training (reaching across us, holding glasses by the rim etc.) We'll try somewhere else next time we pass through Pocatello. read more

I had such fond memories of coming here as a kid. My visit tonight included burnt steak, unripe fruit, inedible mashed potatoes, and raw bread pudding. I even witnessed an employee eating watermelon while she was was replenishing the salad bar. The one shining star was that damn delicious toast. I loveeeee the salad bar at sizzler if you are trying to go out but still eat healthy go here , I have a spinach and kale salad with hard boiled eggs all the raw veggies and cottage cheese for dressing , they always have great avacados mmm , went here yesterday with my mom and aunt the cinnamon butter is amazing !!!!! The service was great and so was the food. We really enjoyed ourselves! I had the all you can eat shrimp and steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp arrived hot every time. It is always a nice atmosphere and even when it is busy you don't have to wait long for your food. I never had to ask for more shrimp and my drink stayed full the entire time.
