I remember when I was a kid,when my grandmother wanted to go to dinner,8 times out of 10 we always went to Sizzler because she loved it so much. The other times it was always Chinese because for some reason she loved egg foo young-a dish even now I still can't wrap my head around. Well anyways I really haven't eaten at Sizzler since my grandmother passed like 30 years but this year when my grandmothers birthday came up,my mother said she wanted to go to Sizzler for old times' sake-so let me tell you how it went. We decided to go to the location in Natomas on Advantage Way. This location has lots of parking as it shares a parking lot with a few other businesses. Not much has changed at Sizzler,as you walk in and the menu is still on the wall and once you know what you want,you walk up to the cashier and place your order. We decided to kind of go all out and order an entree to go along with unlimited salad bar. Here are the entrees we got. -Tri-Tip Sirloin ($21.99) -Steak and Jumbo Shrimp ($23.99) -Shrimp Shrimp Shrimp ($21.39) -Triple-licious ($26.99) We also added an unlimited salad bar to each meal for $9.99. Drinks cost $4.19 each with unlimited refills. Let's talk about the salad bar-I was very impressed with it-I loved it as a kid,loved it as a teenager and surprisingly still love it as an older adult. I found the options were plentiful and the dressings were tasty and I really enjoyed the hot bar.I made some really good tacos at their hot bar and I really enjoyed the broccoli cheese soup. The salad bar also included access to a dessert area and we all enjoyed the soft-serve that they had there. As far as the entrees went-well,a 2 or 3 protein option entree for less than $27,I kind of knew what I was getting,so for the money that was spent,it wasn't bad. They kind of season their food for the customer base that they have,so not overly seasoned but that's ok,it's Sizzler. In closing, we all agreed that we loved our visit to Sizzler and we just might make this an annual trip. I haven't been to a sizzler in over 15 years... we do not have them where I live. Clean .. friendly ... menu offerings were great.. food was good and they still have cheese bread!!!! So gotta remember you pay before you seat and if you want to tip electronically you gotta do that when you order.. otherwise being cash for a table tip. remember salad bars were the craze? then the pandemic shut down all food buffets and salad bars. So it has been almost 10 years since i have eaten here. I heard it is still corporate owned and not franchised. Generally a plus for consistency. Overall...we had a very nice experience. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. No attitude at all. What a concept. Feeling welcomed into a place you don't mind patronizing. Ambience was also very pleasant and clean. Most of us wanted to re-experience their unlimited salad bar. So how was it? It was exactly what it was almost 10 years ago. I don't recall any major wilted items and most cold items seem fresh. From various lettuce options, array of dressing options, a few house made salad concoctions, and yes a wide assortment of basic salad toppings that would satisfy any picky eater. Although their jicama did seem a little "tired" and seafood salad had too much dressing. Their hot section consisted of battered coated chicken wings, orange chicken, spaghetti and meat balls in a rich not watery sauce, 4 different soup offerings, and a taco bar with all the possible toppings. Their wedge style potatoes did need to be replaced and was probably the worst item there. But for under $20 for an unlimited sale bar...not bad. Three other members of our party did order sirloin steaks and all were very happy with their grilled options. They didn't rave about their steaks but also didn't have any concerns. Well I haven't been to a Sizzler in over 20 years or so... ok I am aging myself... but on a serious note. Why haven't I came back sooner? I got this special with 2 size shrimp, fish and chips.. that was okay. It's the salad bar that is the reason why I felt I have been missing out all these years.... I only got the one trip with my meal. I think the next time I come, I'll have to just get the all you can eat salad bar. So many to choose from. From the toppings, to the pasta, to the dessert. Came here for the salad bar and its good reviews. However, I need to seperate the actual salad items to the other included items. The actual part of the salad bar that has veggies is a 5 star. The other included stuff like the so called wings(were they now?) was pretty gross. Taco bar dissappointing with very watery cheese sauce for the nachos. I'm usually a big fan of Sizzler. But they closed most of the restaurants in the Sacramento area. Fortunately, we still have this one in Natomas. The food is still good, and the service is still excellent. The AYCE salad bar is still available, and it is very good. I have not been to Sizzler in decades. I didn't even know the restaurant chain still existed. We were at a small conference in Natomas and someone picked this restaurant for lunch. The line was short, and there weren't many customers there. I ordered a small sirloin steak with a baked potato. I just wanted a little taste of steak and not get too full. I ordered medium rare but my steak was more on the rare side. The quality of the steak was not the best. When I finished my meal, I went to another table to talk to a friend and noticed she had cheese bread. Sizzler's cheese bread!! I forgot all about them. They were my favorite. That said, I didn't get any cheese bread with my meal. They said you're supposed to ask for the bread. Hello?? Maybe the waitress should ask customers if they would like some. Our waitress didn't mentioned it, so I missed out! Nostalgic experience to eat at this old favorite from the 90's but the food was just okay. Wished the steak was better quality. One of the best places to make your perfect salad! Salad bar is always fully stocked. Clam chowder is always a great option, other than getting wings, pasta, or creating your own tacos. I've previously ordered sizzler for delivery and I thought I'd come here after an appt with my husband. I know alot of people have some nostalgia with Sizzlers but I've only been once in my childhood during a field trip. It's definitely different. For those who have never been, you order when you first walk in. The menu is along the wall before you get to the cashier. I ordered the smallest steak they had, rice pilaf and the salad bar. My hubs ordered a burger, fries and the salad bar. We paid and then we chose our own seats. It was after lunch so the place was half full. Overall, I liked my steak and rice. I enjoyed the orange chicken and meatballs from the salad bar. But I hate to say it, but it was meh. Mid. The booths were comfy, the place was clean. Well my peeps this particular Sizzler is truly a step above your normal Sizzler. The Salad bar was stocked and well maintained for presentation. Food was definitely well prepared and served allowing you to enjoy your salads. Service was great even though we did have to wait at times for refills of beverages but okay. Staff were very courteous and organized. The interior was very next level compared to the older facilities even though this one was at least 12 years old we were told. I apologize for no food pictures only interior views. I guess I will have to return and finish the job right . Well it's been a few decades since I visited a Sizzler but I am glad I came. Given we were there at 4pm the place was clean and the food was fresh. We had the AYCE salad bar $20. There is a really nice selection of salads and ingredients like eggs and bacon. The hot food includes soups, wings, spaghetti and meatballs, orange chicken and taco/nacho bar. The orange chicken was surprisingly tasty. To top everything off there is soft serve ice cream and brownies for dessert. Nice place to visit when you want a large selection of food to eat! read more

From the moment we sat down, she was so kind, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. I feel like this is the only Sizzler around in the Sacramento area. I do have to say that it is a great selection and they keep their restaurant clean. I enjoyed the millennial throwback music and the TVs. I like the well stocked salad bar. It's $9.99 for an add-on and $19. If you were just gonna have all you can eat. I chose the shrimp, shrimp, shrimp plate and got the add-on salad bar. My husband got the 8 ounce tip sirloin and added the salad bar as well. This Sizzler is easily the best one I've been to since the 90s! From the cashier Josef to our server Destiney, the service was great, and the staff does an amazing job keeping the whole place sparkly clean. The salad bar was so fresh and organized. They have a huge selection with tacos, nachos, four different soups, wings, and even spaghetti and meatballs. The fruit and salad greens actually look fresh and delicious, not "sad" like some other Sizzlers I've visited. I also really appreciated that the honor system is still respected here. At other locations, you have to constantly ask for new plates for salad or wings, but not here. You definitely can't miss the dessert bar! When we went to the salad bar area, the majority of the items were not stocked and it was a mess. Server Monica took great care of my family this past Saturday. We had a party of 6 and never felt neglected by her. We did a mix of entrees and the salad buffets. The food at the buffet was constantly being restocked and the staff doing so was on top of things. A few people at my table went with the steak and endless shrimp. Salad as usual was pretty good with plenty of choices in salads and salad dressings--so many dressings that it's sometimes difficult to reach without spilling one dressing into another. I usually get the clam chowder soup--luckily not overly salty and clammy tasting but a big challenge in actually finding any bite much less a regular bite sized clam piece by itself--if they were there they were microscopic. The same could be said about the broccoli and cheese soup--taste was okay but broccoli pieces looked like tiny circular green specs in the soup or green dots in the soup. The taco fillings were ok--I usually make a taco like salad rather than a taco itself. The other deli items were okay--I always like the large wedge potato pieces made from the left over baked potatoes(I presume) but they were a bit lukewarm unfortunately this time. The service could be improved--I am not a picky patron by any means but the beverage was slow in arriving as was the cheese toast and the extra napkin I asked for never arrived. It was at lunch but the restaurant was not crowded so I don't know if there was a shortage of severs or ?? After all it is basically a self-service restaurant I understand but I could have gotten an extra napkin and/or beverage if self-service had been available for these items. Time for an update since my last visit 2 years ago. Clearly I didn't feel compelled to return anytime soon and it still might be another 2 years. We came for the soup n salad bar on a Thursday night and arrived at 430pm to beat the crowd which was good because there was surprisingly a line when we left a few hours later. It only went up .50 cents for AYCE salad bar to $19.50. However to add it to an entree, it is $9.99. I was really wanting a steak and the 8 oz with only ONE side is $20.99 so my dinner was $38 with tip. I will start with the few good things that even gives them an extra star. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. My baked potato was hot and fluffy. The "salad" bar was stocked and ingredients looked fresh. Now the bad: Service was terrible by management. In the past, you used to wait for someone to seat you after you paid so I waited. A manager was nearby so I thought she would come help me. She walked right past me so I greeted her with a cheery hello! she doesn't make eye contact with me says hello and walks away from me. Then I notice a sign that says seat yourself. We preferred a booth that surrounded the salad bar and there were 4 dirty tables with tips left so I went back to see if they could bus one so we could sit there. I could not find an employee or a manager to give a damn so we had to find somewhere else to sit only to find More dirty tables EVERYWHERE!!! It was appalling. First waitress took awhile to get to us, our dirty plates flooded our table and I had to wave her down to get drink refills. Then her replacement was just the opposite. She bugged us WAY too often and interrupted out conversation what seems like every five minutes when we were at the end with dessert. UGH. Hot Bar was pretty awful. The wings was the only edible thing but those ran out and was not refilled for awhile. The pasta/sauce was COLD. The potato wedges were hard as a rock. Taco bar meat was Way TOO spicy for the average person. Nacho cheese was watery. Taquitos were chewy. The Broccoli cheese and clam chowder soups were not edible. My friend had to gulp a bunch of water to get the taste out. There was something in it like a filler that tasted wrong. Dessert bar was a joke. There were no spoons or bowls, my friend took the last one. I had to use a soup bowl. All the sauces are in bottles, ew. I wanted to strawberries in a glaze like they used to have, nope. So I thought I will just get some fresh strawberries and cream from the salad bar. Nope they no longer have that!!! The brownie was dry. They are way too overpriced with such poor service and quality of food. Not much better than diner fare. They used to be really good. So disappointed in my trip. I will be curious if they still exist in five years. Too many other places to compete with your dollar. A smile and keeping tables clean isn't too much to ask is it? read more
