UPDATE 8/11: After I posted this review, I was contacted next day by a manager and then also the owner. The owner actually left a voicemail and I eventually called back. The owner apologized, wasn't defensive, didn't try to get to me explain my self and was just apologetic to what I experienced. They offered partial refund and service to show that they want to fix the wrong and prove that they are a great service company. ------ Original review: I had a very negative experience with air shark technician. My issue was needing the capacitor replaced. The fix was quick and I was clearly over charged. When I asked about this, the technician just said it's just business. He exaggerated the price of the part needed which is a capacitor saying it's like $200-$300. It's at most $50. It took him like 10 minutes to replace the part and said you either accept the charge and pay or I just take it out. It felt very predatory, like I already fixed it you might as well pay. He proceeds to measure temps and other various things just to pass time while he waits for me to decide if I want to pay or have him unfix it. I can accept being over charged but something about how this situation transpired left a bad taste for me. For example, why wouldn't you say you need to replace this and it cost this much for the fix instead of fixing it first then say pay or I take it off. read more

Service requested: HVAC replacement. However, after the initial inspection the engineers told us we needed to changed the ducts and insulation coming into our house to improve efficiency. It was an expensive upgrade but was the need of the time considering even a top notch system would only work at 40% efficiency. Engineer was thorough in examination. She took lot of photos. Explained the process. Air sharks didn't push for purchasing any particular equipment. We chose Daikin. Service: the work crew is very disciplined. Arrive on time. No loud noises. Informed us daily at the end of the day. Kept our house and side yard clean and tidy. Follow up: the inspection went well. We received the permit as per schedule. First year warranty is included. Air Sharks has done my furnace heating tune ups in the fall and AC tune ups in the spring every year for the past two years. I've also had them replace the air ducts under the house which were old and not efficiently moving the air into the vents. With each visit, the techs were very professional and informative while performing the services. Before the air duct replacement, one of the project managers visited and was very thorough in explaining other services such as water heater vs. heat pump replacement and insulation. Communications with this company are also very good. It is easy to call when I need to schedule services and they also keep me up to date on the appointment arrival times via text messages. Recently Air Sharks completed the replacement of my old AC unit and furnace with Daikin heat pump AC/Heat unit, I am really impressed with their work so I thought I share my experience here. Some time ago I was working with another energy company but they were slow and slow. I always had to chase them down for updates and next steps. Finally I got fed up so I called Air Sharks for a quote because I have seen their work trucks in my neighborhood. Rudy Zapien from Air Sharks came, I knew what I wanted so so Rudy prepared the quote on the spot. Since Air Sharks handles all the permit requirements and the rebate application, plus very nice warranty on the unit, so I signed contract on the spot. Then came the installation team, Danny and 1 other guy came and completed the job in 3 days. Their work was neat, professional, and clean, clean, clean (see the pictures). Not to mention they have a big efficient team handling different tasks. The electrician that came to do wiring work, the guys that came to patch work drywall, the coordinator that texted me every step of the way. Then their manager also came by at the end of the install to safety inspect their own work. I am fabulously impressed by Air Sharks' work and once I get the rebate check from SVCE I will double that happiness. Had been a customer of a "top-rated" (according to Google and Yelp! reviews) HVAC company in the South Bay Area, who had replaced our central air conditioning in 2016. But, my wife and I have been disappointed by their service levels over the past few years - slow to return calls, very long queue to get a technician on-site, etc., despite having been a long-term client. So, when our central heating went out, I searched for alternatives and saw the glowing reviews for Air Sharks. Rolled the dice, called, set up an appointment for a technician to come check things out. Air Sharks assigned Xander, who arrived on time and was very professional, courteous and efficient. Xander carefully and thoroughly explained our options for repairing the ancient system and my wife and I determined that it was not worth it. From there, Xander pointed out that the installation of our old unit (in a dedicated HVAC closet) was not correctly installed, which likely is be the reason that our air conditioning unit was so ineffective during hotter weather (95+). Long story short, Xander explained our options for replacement before referring us to Elizabeth, Sales Supervisor and set us up with an appointment. Like Xander, Elizabeth was equally professional, courteous and efficient. The entire process was mapped out clearly and Elizabeth answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The installation crew arrived on time and were very accommodating to our schedule. The install did run a day longer than scheduled, but this was not a big deal since the crew chief always gave us an update at the end of each day, so we knew what to expect and what had been completed. Also, we had requested that our install be moved from the HVAC closet to the attic, which we were told might take a little longer before we signed the agreement. We have not had enough inclement weather to say how well things work but, based on the experience from initial service all to completed install, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Air Sharks. Replacing an HVAC unit is not cheap but Air Sharks gave us a more than fair price and the level of service across the board (from phone/email support, sales and the in-site crew) was top notch. Also, our experience with Air Sharks has us feeling very confident in long term support and that Air Sharks will stand behind their installation and the products they sell. Air Sharks is super communicative (phone and email) during the process and their follow up post-installation has been very good. I will not hesitate to recommend Air Sharks to our neighbors and anyone else looking for an HVAC specialist. My Daikin mini split was not blowing cold air, it would only blow room temperature air and since its getting hotter I decided on finding a company that are certified Daikin specialists. An initial visit was scheduled and they said it was a leak from a non certified installer which was true. They found a bunch of problems with the installers work so they knew what was wrong and what to do. We then went to the 2nd step, i paid them and in a few days another specialist came by and fixed the leak, added more freon and left. Next thing I know I'm enjoying a cool studio, finally not suffering over 80 anymore. I highly recommend Air Sharks they were fast, friendly, courteous and did the job right. read more

Air Sharks is the best HVAC company we have so far. We became their member since summer 2023 and had both our AC and Heaters replaced by them that year. Since that, their technicians have come to do inspections twice a year to check out the AC and Heater alternatively. This year, they even included the Water Heater. Kevin B. is this year's technician. He did a thorough checkup and spent almost 3 hours testing inside and outside including the crawl space. He took a lot of pics and showed us the summary and the photos at the end of the inspection and via e-mail. We are very pleased with his inspection. Only one tip for Kevin: Be careful when he checked the Water Heater. This time, for some reason, he must have accidentally touched something, the blue status bottom on the lower part of the Water Heater stopped blinking and caused our hot water to stop heating. We called your office to have another technician fixed it two days later. Other than that, everything went smoothly and we appreciate your work.
