Long time locals favorite restaurant. The food is consistently good. Service is great. Breakfast lunch & dinner with a large menu guaranteed to find something delicious. They list the classics when it comes to good diner food to a perfectly made thin pizza. I came here today to get my mother their homemade chicken & rice soup. They make the best soups here. They have out door seating as well as seating in their newly remodeled dining area. The owners are so kind that they make you feel like a long time regular. I'd give them 10 stars if that was an option. read more

Skip the expensive resort breakfast and walk down to Skidders. Seriously. Great food, great service. Food came out quickly and the coffee was delicious. Servers are super nice and attentive. Reasonably priced, too. read more

This place is a must for breakfast. Their omelettes are amazing and they also have a mimosa flight that's a must. We went the first day of vacation and ended up going back everyday for breakfast. Highly recommend!!! read more

The breakfast was amazing! The pancakes and omelets are the best in the area There is no word to describe dinner. The rack of lamb (not on the menu...but ask for it, was probably the best one I had, ever. Large selection of drinks and the owners (we met Peter), are always running around making sure all customers are happy. I wanted to try a new restaurant. I love Mediterranean foods so Skidders appealed to me. I ordered the Moussaka and a side of minestrone soup. The food was fantastic. The soup was wonderful. The portion of Moussaka was huge and I took back half of it. The seasoning of the food was perfect, and reminded me of my Italian grandmothers cooking. Really true to original flavors. I recommend the Moussaka! And Minestrone. read more

I would said this is an old folks restaurant. The reason I said it because of the way they cook the food. Mostly broil and less sodium. It is an Greek restaurant with many history in Bay Area. They an not advertised rack of lamb. Only ask and you shall have it. It is not in the menu. We did not go for it since we are getting the early bird special. We have the broil octopus and the broil dole fish. The octopus is not grilled. If the grilled it will be much better. It is serve with sour sauce. The sole fish is only broil with stir fry veggies. I think all dish lack of salt or seasoning. Great for senior people. Service is good at restaurant. May be the happy hour is less people. read more

Visited here tonight and really had a poor experience. We had a reservation at 7:15 - the hostess seemed very flustered and quite annoyed when I asked to be seated outside where our reservation was for. Our waiter was very friendly and the highlight of our visit. We ordered saganaki and it was absolutely awful. I have been eating Greek food for 40 years and not one part of our meal reflected good food. The appetizer was so burnt that the waiter had to peel it off the plate and it was charred. We took one bite and then pushed away. The inside was under construction and felt like a crappy diner. Just would skip this restaurant - way over priced for the poor quality. read more

Good size portions but the poached eggs seemed to be inconsistent here. 2 out of the 3 who ordered Eggs Benedict didn't have a runny yoke when they broke into it. Luckily, mine was just right which was luck of the draw, I suppose. Others in our group ordered the omelet with chorizo (very good), corned beef hash (huge portion) and waffles (must have been good because my son devoured his). Mimosas were served deconstructed: full glass of OJ, mini bottle of champagne and a champagne fluke. They may have poured the initial glass and simply gave the remaining juice and champagne. We ate here for breakfast and dinner and the food was wonderful. For breakfast I had the French toast and bacon and they orders a pancake platter. We all shared the fried potatoes (don't remember what it's called on the menu but they were DELICIOUS)!!!! Our waitress was Sky and she was wonderful. The first friendly person we encountered on out trip. For dinner I ordered the fried grouper and it was really good. While we were there the owner (I'm assuming) had is all taking shots and they were really good. He was nice as well. read more

Surprisingly good was a little worried because you have Greek in Florida. But the menu was a mixture with some good Greek options, the surf an turf was spot on, the stuffed grape leaves were perfect, was expecting warm( I didn't read the menu) none the less they are great. The staff was great the bartender was moving like no other the restaurant flowed smoothly an even with a wait the turn around was fast very polite people we met ... definitely will be back it's a good twist an mixture of food read more

Awful. I really do not like to post bad reviews, but Skidder's is terrible. I ate here this past January, and sent the meal back because I was served rancid salsa. The manager said he tasted the salsa earlier that morning, and said it was fine. It wasn't. The hash browns were burnt; it was a mess. I'll always give a restaurant a second chance, but I do not recommend Skidder's. At all. This morning's fiasco started with an inept host. He was preoccupied with counting money instead of cordially greeting guests. One of the worst greetings I've ever experienced, if you can call it that. My server did not tell me her name, so I had to ask. They clearly need to be retrained. I ordered a meat lover's omelette, and there was a scrap of burnt bacon, tiny scraps of sausage - very cheap sausage - and pathetically diced squares of cheap ham. Extremely pathetic omelette, one of the worst I've ever had. Haley did provide coffee and water refills without me having to ask, she checked on me a few times, so the service was adequate. But, the food was less than mediocre. Overall, a forgettable breakfast experience. I spent $20, and could have had a better breakfast at McDonald's. Suggestion to Management: retrain your staff on the basics, and elevate your food to justify the price instead of being another beach restaurant that gouges customers because you're on the beach. Went in for breakfast. Restaurant very clean and friendly, but busy waitress. No major complaints with food. The potato pancakes are very good. I would pick a different option if I go back. I had French Toast and found it a bit too bready for my taste. Went back in for a second breakfast this morning. The hostess, who is the normal night bartender was awesome at finding us a seat that my husband would be comfortable in. I did pick a different option I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband had biscuits with gravy. We both had the awesome potato pancakes. Great meal and I updated to 5 star. read more

We ate here for breakfast twice while visiting for a few days. The food was everything you could want a breakfast to be. The portions were huge, and the food came out really fast. The service was outstanding. We had the same waitress both times, and she was very attentive and on top of things. The ambiance was good. It was a slow time of year, and there was no wait, and it was pleasantly quiet. We would certainly come back next time we're in town. read more

We have been coming to Skidders for at least 25 years. New ownership. Used to be packed all hours of the day. We thought let's give it a shot. Whoa. All cooks left. All servers. Owner retired. I ordered the chicken Marsala No - none flavor. Chicken with a blop of thick gravy over chicken and pasta. I sent it back. Never again. Ordered lentil soup got wild rice. Didn't have lentil. The place was dead. Never gonna return. Big difference is owners were NOT around. Don't use the bathrooms. Dirty and stinky. Our server was awesome. He was so attentive. Great personality read more

This is a great little breakfast / lunch place to hit on gulf drive in St Petersburg right across from the beach. Typical eggs, toast & bacon breakfasts. Very large omelets if you're looking for that. Delicious, thick-cut French toast. A hearty, at-home kind of meal place. Lunch is a mix of classic American-fare sandwiches Including patty melts, reubens, and double-decker clubs. Prices very reasonable and service consistent and pleasant. read more

We left this restaurant with full stomachs and hearts. Greek, family owned, and passionate about their food. It shows! Great flavors coming out of the kitchen with a menu diverse to satisfy any craving. The portions are massive and there is a great variety to choose from. We had a work conference at St. Pete's Beach and this place was across from our hotel. We went in once time because they seemed to have a large menu. We then went back 3 more times! The food was amazing. The Gyros were to die for. I also tried the chicken Marsala which to excellent and by husband got a cheeseburger every time we went. The burgers here are even better than the burger restaurant right next door. They have an expansive menu with something for anyone and the prices were good. If we lived close to this place we would go every week. read more

Dinner here last evening. Lots of staff in the front of the house. Supposedly training new waiters and waitresses. Despite this they forgot to give us early bird menus. Frankly, the early bird menus turned out to be pretty meager and items ordered off of it were exceedingly inconsistent in portion size. Clearly a number of long time customers were there and they were all having issues with their meals. The apparent owner looked like someone who wasn't engaged. He was an "executive" and getting his hands dirty to fix the issues was not in his job description. I see others have also had a bad recent experience. read more

The new owners have dropped most of the Greek offerings that made Skidders the most popular restaurant on St Pete Besch while also raising the prices on a slimmed down menus. It is With grest sadness it appears the new owners have succeeded in destroying a 25 year reputation Skidders had for providing excellent friendly service, and great and varied large selection of family friendly foods featuring mostly quick dishes. The staff that made possible are for the most part eliminated and along with them the former excellent quality of the food has suffered substantially, and is no longer among the best on the beach. The famous Skidders special pizza has suffered greatly and is now only a soft mushy crusted dough pie with sausage, vegetable and cheese on top. It's not worth ordering. The loss of Peter and Gus, as the managers has been fatal as demonstrated by the very visible drop in customers that no longer line up out the door for breakfast lunc and dinner. The newly hired constantly changing staff is largely inexperienced, young, and with no real personalities that made Skidders famous. This is apparently a serious effort to reduce cost, which also has impacted the quality of the food they now serve There are other good restaurants that deserve and earn my money and praise. read more

We immediately placed our order since we had time to review the menu, we asked for waters and drinks. Water never came until we asked again. Silverware never came until we asked for silverware. . When the food did come it was meh. Crepe was dry, wrap was cold, best part of the meal was the Bloody Marys. The table next to us overheard our conversation and said they were also having an awful experience with the staff and would not return. Nate then told us we were difficult for no reason. When we had asked for the bill he told us he didn't divide it in 2 bills because he did it on purpose. He also said "my name is Nate, go ahead and write a bad review about me". We never intended to write any reviews. It was just an awful experience. We will never return and it would have taken such a small effort to make amends once we were seated, but instead the staff was rude and instigated patrons who were giving the restaurant business. Our community is small, we support only local businesses, but not this one.

I made reservations for Thursday at 6:30 pm. When we arrived we were pleased to see that they had a guitarist playing tunes from the 70's on the balcony, but we opted for an indoor table for the AC. Started off with happy hour French Pinot Noir at $9.50 a glass ($3 off for happy hour), Then ordered the Appetizer + Entree special at $39.90. Choosing the Escargot for the Appetizer and the Beef Burgundy for the entree. Cuz also got the Lobster Bisque ($14.90) as well. My meal came to $60 including tip. Worth every penny. Appetizers of escargot & foie gras - outstanding, definitely a wow! Entrees: My honey had the steak with foie gras and seasonal vegetables w/roasted potatoes. His steak perfectly cooked. I had the steak frites - omg, the french fries were the best! I had a choice of sauce: blue cheese or pepper corn, so being glutinous, I asked for a small bit of both, wow. they were fabulous! Erin & staff were very friendly and quick to accommodate. Shout out to Erin for checking in on us often to ensure a wonderful experience. We noticed they have two chefs/cooks in the kitchen to accommodate. Loved they were able to accommodate my gluten-free needs. The GF bread was grilled and delicious, so good! Beautiful remodel with the modern and bright and fresh colors. Very hip & elegant. We look forward to coming back. We noticed they have a great happy hour with live music outside.

Parking is minimum $50 a day + fees. A cocktail? For an hour? Haha no. I'm being mildly disingenuous. The bar staff (and likely restaurant staff) will give you a QR code to validate all $58 of your parking. But it made me acutely miss a time when you could just park and patronize an establishment. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.
