One of the best places I've ever been to. Super nice people, huge portions so if you are like me, you get two meals in one! The Fettuccini Alfredo I ordered was boiling hot, be careful everything is hot, but it was amazing. One of the best I've had. The Caesar salad I had was pretty good and my mom ordered the gyro platter and said it was huge but good. Very diner-ish inside which was surprising but not a bad thing. We ate there last night and I ordered lemon picatta chicken . I have never had lemon picatta sauce that was brown and loaded with mushrooms. Usually it is light yellowish in color with capers and lemon slices as well. And it has a very nice lemon taste. While it did have capers there was nothing to make you think lemons had anything to do with it. I believe that my order was chicken marsala which I am not a fan of. That explains why I only had a few bites. Big disappointment. read more

Menu literally offers every kind of cuisine. You will find something! Greek is the central theme but they offer abundant favorites - steak, seafood, pizza, burgers, chicken. Took awhile to take our order and computers were down when we payed our bill. Obviously not their fault. Ordered a burger which was massive but tasted a little strange, couldn't put my finger on it. Breakfast! We've written about Skidders great evening meals.... But today is the first time we've had the opportunity to sample breakfast. In a word.....terrific. Best coffee we have found on the beach. I had the Lumberjack, which included pancakes equal to the best I have ever sampled. My wife sez they add vanilla.... Whatever, they are just plain GOOD! My wife had fruit and toast... Nothing fancy, but fresh and tasty. Great service and fair prices add up to a five star. read more

It was 11:15 p.m. and this area is like a ghost town at this time of year. Even though we're from Chicago we had a craving for pizza and asked a local for a recommendation and she suggested Skidder's. We sort of laughed since it's just a family restaurant, not a pizza joint but luckily we were surprised, YUMMY! I made the mistake of getting garlic bread since we were so hungry so I didn't get to enjoy as many slices of pizza as I woluld have liked but it was pretty good a few hours later at the hotel room. Their menu is pretty large, again it's a family restaurant so there is a lot to choose from. We will definitely be going back! read more

We only went for burgers but couldn't resist the NE clam chowder. They had an extensive menu, all was reasonably priced. The food was really good. Brittany was the beat server we've had all week. We saw the Greek Flag so decided to try Greek food. While the gyro and souvlaki were ok they were not great. The Greek salad was salad in name only. Just vegetables laid out on a plate with big piece of feta on top. Not mixed or chopped. No dressing. Potato skins were good as were buffalo wings. Service was good. read more

One of the best restaurants I have been to in a while, I placed a to go order and while waiting for my order they even offered me something to drink whike I waited, of course free of charge, The waitress also was bvery pleasent. Food was ok nothing special. My daughter ordered a bowl of plain pasta..nothing else when the bill came they had charged me 14 dollars for it. I thought this must be a mistake but I brought it to managers attention and he just didn't understand what my problem was with it. He wouldn't change the price. My daughter had eaten steak and lobster across the street for 18 dollars the night before. I paid it what could I do? But I would never recommend this place for the money its a Greek diner not a five star restaurant. read more

First visit will also be my last! Service was terrible! Took couple orders from people that got there after me. Manager twice had to get refills. Found Skidders in 2011when I was in St. Pete Beach for the first time since I was a teenager. Have been back every year since..First stop for dinner my 1st night in town. We visited for dinner last week. The service was good (maybe a 4) , but I'm giving the overall rating based on value. We had a party of 4 and I think the overall consensus was that it was ok but not memorable. The entrees were about $20 and higher. For that price, I expected a little more than basic fried shrimp. Maybe the other dishes on the menu were better, but I can only judge based on ours. Over $100 for a family of 4 for dinner, I probably would try another restaurant next time. I can see paying extra if we had a great view, but this is on the main street with lots of traffic. read more

We were looking for a restaurant that was open late in St Pete Beach and settled on Skidders. The manager sat us down and was pretty friendly. The place has more of a diner feel to it. The menu was huge with lots to choose from. I was especially impressed with the Greek selections. This would be a great restaurant for a romantic date if the decor matched the quality of the food.The prices were very good also, for the most part (see below). Our waiter was OK, not great. We ordered the octopus appetizer and it was very good. The manager came back over and asked if everything was alright, and if we wanted some bread. He brought over a small loaf of bread and some butter. As I was about to tell my fiancee I thought that was a nice touch, I noticed all the other tables had bread also. It could be the manager asks every table, but more likely our waiter forgot to bring it out. Our food was excellent. I had a grouper sandwich while she had a large Greek salad. We noticed right away how fresh the food was. My only real complaint about the food was the price of my sandwich. It was listed at Market price, but every other sandwich was about $6-7, so I figured it wouldn't be too expensive. It must not have been grouper season because the sandwich was $17! As we were leaving, I saw the manager was pouring free shots of Ouzo for other tables. We were never offered any, but I wasn't too offended since we both look a lot younger than we are. Our waiter gave us our check and said the manager would take care of us at the register when we were ready. He must have been busy, because our waiter meet us up there to settle the check. Only then when it was time to pay the check (and the tip) did our waiter really brighten up and started chatting with us. Overall it was a good experience and we will probably be back next time we are in St Pete. Skidder's is our family's favorite dinner stop on St. Pete Beach. We have been going there for more than 20 years. Mostly, we get their pizza - Skidder's Special (meat pizza), Westcoast (awesome veggie pizza with grilled eggplant) and Greek. It is always DELICIOUS. I am so serious when I say that I made a yelp account just for this bad review. We ordered potato skins (which had no description) and when it came out with bacon we said sorry we wanted it without so the host/manager/owner came to tell us that he has never seen potato skins without bacon on his life and they don't exist basically yelling at us. If you don't tip 15% they automatically charge you which is fine but I'm obviously going to tip more than that percent and it's all over the menu like they don't trust me. Also you can't share food. I've never been here is it so bad that I take a bite off my moms plate to try it? Had to ask every time for more water. Very weird. Food was ok but kind of boring really. Waitress was really knowledgable about the menu. The worst music of all time playing my mom tried to leave like five times. It looks like it used to be a Chinese restaurant then they bought it? Not even sure. Strange environment for sure...which wouldn't bother me if the food was great but it wasn't. read more

We ate here on our last night on vacation. The food was great and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this!

We have eaten here several times in the past. Most meals are decent and reasonably priced for the area. My last meal, however, was a let down. I had the crab stuffed flounder. The flounder was fine, the the stuffing, which I expected to be real Crab for $19.00, was imitation crab meat. The imitation flavoring was so over powering i was not able to eat the stuffing. Sorry Skidders, but don't call it crab meat if it's imitation. And if it's imitation price it accordingly. read more

Mediocre food and terrible service. Waitress sat hot pizza right in front of our toddler. My drink sat empty from the middle of dinner until we left. Waitress grabbed condiments off our table without asking to give to another table. We finally flagged her down and handed her our credit card without our check because we'd been waiting so long. Had eatten here a few times and enjoyed good service and solid food; especially liked breakfast; not today. Today was going to be one of those thorn in my side experiences. Arrived at about 3:40 pm on Sunday, 2/5/17, was greeted, and told to sit anywhere. The restaurant was not crowded when I arrived. The couple next to me asked about specials, the waitress pushed drinks, there was a separate menu for food specials, but if they wanted food from that menu she would not place their order until 4 pm.. The waitress approached me and I asked about seeing the "specials menu" and was told that I could not see it until 4 pm. I could not believe it. I asked if I might be able to look at the menu and order and was told that she would not put in my order until after 4 pm and would I like to order now from the regular menu. I thanked the waitress for driving away a customer, walked toward the door to leave, and stopped by the cash register. I asked about dinner specials and was told they don't start until 4:30 pm. Eek! Time to leave and go somewhere else. It's the little things that keep customers or drive away customers. Be nice to your customers. Be reasonable. Give consistent feedback to your customers. You don't stay in business by giving customers foolish answers and a reason to leave. You want to keep them....happy...returning...spreading good experiences...support reasonable requests.... The waitress was nice and was trying to take care of our party of 6. However, her smile and apologies for a crowded place did not speed up the service. We had to wait for about 50 minutes for our fish. Replenishing water in our glasses was also problematic. The food was tasty and nicely spiced but should have been served much faster. read more

Had a great dinner at this gem with my extended family. First off note they are one of only a handful of restaurants in this area that will take a reservation. Our party ordered the broiled octopus, fillet, pizza, gyro and eggplant parm! Something for everyone and all very good. My MIL raved about how great the fillet was-she would know. Nice Greek owned diner. I always get the Gyro platter and it's enough for 2 meals. The Saganaki is always great and they have dozens of other dishes including seafood, hamburgers, steak, pizza and sandwiches. We are locals and eat there all the time. It's my favorite comfort food place on the beach and is moderately priced. There are also items on the menu that aren't very expensive if you don't want to spend a lot. Every time we get to St. Pete Beach we have to go to Skidders. No matter what we have ordered, which is almost everything on the menu over the years, it has been freshly prepared and excellent. The service is beyond compare. The wait staff is wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. The manager is charming and always available to make sure everything runs smoothly. I enjoyed meeting a cousin there who was in town for business. Peter is a wonderful host, I had a real Greek salad, no mushy potato salad thrown in the mix, real Feta, dolmades, and tons of anchovies. It was delicious. My cousin had a good Ceasar salad.We were there more to meet and have a light dinner, but what we had was excellent, so I don't know about the other dishes but based on what we had I'm sure they are wonderful. The ambiance is what's so nice about this place. Peter, acting manager, host, part-owner is extremely gracious, and you can tell he loves what he does and puts his heart in it. I felt like I was a guest in his house rather than a restaurant patron. We had wine and beer with our salads, and some delicious Ouzo for after dinner drinks. When you want a good meal, and the restaurant acts like they appreciate your business , Skidders is the place to go. read more
