Chicken Shawarma Plate, Lamb Kebab with add on Beef Kebab

We did the take out from here with no expectations of how things would taste because we are use to getting food from Dearborn. Man were we surprised! Everything tastes good and familiar to what we are used to. We'll definitely be back! If the owner can consider cooking ful or other breakfast food, we'd be so thrilled!

One of my new favorites! Amazing food and drinks. We shared a dip trio and kabob plate with chicken beef and lamb. The chicken shockingly was my favorite! Had the rice pudding for dessert. Will definitely be back!

We were looking for the restaurant where we can dine with our dog. We've specifically checked Skewers on Apple Maps and Yelp where "Pets Welcome" and "Dogs Allowed" are featured. When we arrived into the restaurant - their stuff refused us with our dog and declined any "Pets Welcome" listed on their sites. Each business is responsible for their info and disclaimers on the map and Yelp, thus we can't accept their "we are not in control of that info". Very shameful!

Skewers was highly suggested by my friend, so both her and I decided to come here for Inlander Restaurant Week. My experience here was wonderful, and I am definitely looking forward to introducing my other friends to this restaurant! Since we came in on a Friday during restaurant week, the place was pretty full - overall though the atmosphere was very comfortable. There was one guy who was mainly helping my friend and I, and he seemed very attentive, often apologizing for the kitchen being a bit behind, which I really appreciated. In terms of the food, my friend and I were able to share so many different items as a result of restaurant week. We got to try a few dips, some falafel, a chicken schwarma wrap, and some baklava and rice pudding as well. Everything was so well-seasoned and delicious. I loved the flavors in my wrap, and the fries had this awesome seasoning as well. The entree portions were huge, however I wish they could've taken some of that quantity and give it to the apps as well, which seemed a bit on the smaller size. I was a huge fan of both desserts, however my friend didn't really like the rice pudding that much - it was our decision to be adventurous and try something new though, so I was pretty happy regardless. Honestly for the price of $25, I am very happy with the food and my overall experience. I was told that Skewers often does catering for WSU medical students -- I wish my program could get the same as well :'). Definitely looking forward to coming back!

1 of 1. Phenomenal spices, flavors, sauces and fare. The service was welcoming and prompt. The ambiance is casual and fairly quick. We had a chicken shawarma and beef wrap. They are both large, and come with wonderful spice covered fries. You also get a choice of delicious flavors packed sauces. This is a top spot and one of a kind restaurant. We also got a Pakhlava to go that was the delicious and the best ever. We will be frequenting often! So happy to have you in Spokane. I hope you'll be able to offer lunch hours soon as I think you would have a lot of business at afternoon time too!

Skewers doesn't play. The fries are crisp, fluffy, and blasted with seasoning. Maybe a little tooooo much seasoning some may say as towards the second half of this meal I started to feel there was too much salt, but easy enough to shake it off. For the main course I ordered the chicken shawarma pita wrap with tzatziki. They STUFFED this pita wrap with meat and when I took my first bite my mind, body, and soul was so pleasantly surprised, especially in today's economy. There was a hefty amount of lettuce and tzatziki sauce as well to make this wrap bursting at the seams. Plus the pita is warm and toasted!

The vegetable sides and salads are very large (at least as large as "main entrees" )and can be a main dish, or good for sharing. It is elevated cuisine but in a casual atmosphere. Service is friendly and attentive Fried beets --really nice balance of flavor here. They put honey on the beets, which might seem too extra because beets are sugar in themselves, but it brings out the earthiness of the beets. The plate also has pickled sweet peppers and a feta whip, and so all together this makes a great balance of flavors Roasted carrots --hearty portion with a labneh dip and preserved lemons There was not enough of the dip, imho, and we asked for more and they gladly gave us some no extra charge. Again, this was a great mix of flavors and textures. Oyster mushroom shashlick--the menu did not describe the sauce, which was a little spicy. (I'm sensitive to spice. Most would find this not spicy) Great tasting mushrooms that are skewered and grilled just like the meat versions at this restaurant. served with their smashed potatoes, which are crispy and seasoned. Chicken skewers --moist, with 8 bite-sized pieces. The potatoes are crispy and good. Overall, we liked all 4 items but I liked the beets the best! In the past we have had falafel and hummus, babaganoush, and beef/lamb dishes. They were all good. For dessert, we split a tea-flavored pot de creme. It was really yummy.

It was about a three minute drive from where I was, and I decided to go in and get a Lamb Shawarma. I am a big fan of shawarmas and I have had many different types from many different middle east countries, so I went in with high standards, especially after reading the reviews. The service was friendly and nothing to complain about. Ambiance wise, this is a place where you go up to the counter and order your food and seat yourself and eat. It is not a sit-down restaurant or a place with waiter service. The Shawarma came out close to $20. It came with fries as well. The fries were not anything out of the ordinary but the shawarma itself was not very seasoned. The meat was cooked fine and there were no red flags, but I think the seasoning was very underwhelming. Maybe I didn't order the right thing, but I think a shawarma is pretty standard. I would probably not return, if given the chance.

And when it's a Greek restaurant on top of that, that's basically a recipe for perfection. You can smell this place from blocks away. By the time you get to the parking lot, you're already salivating in anticipation. Vampires be warned: you're not getting within a half mile of this place! Sure, not everything was perfect about our meal: the Sarmisak (garlic dip with walnuts and parmesan) didn't do much for us, and my wife ended up preferring my Bahce over her grill plate (I can't remember the name of it), so we ended up swapping dishes. The Turkish Cigars were a huge hit with both of us, although we both wished they were a bit larger. I'm not sure I quite "get" the running aesthetic going on here at "The White House", as well as their sister establishments "The Oval Office", "The Pentagon", and "The Capitol". I mean, I get the theme, but...why? I don't get the Why of it all. Regardless, it's immaterial. The food is awesome, and worthy of a President. Well, not our current President...but one of the good ones, for sure! The staff are efficient, somehow buzzing about all over the place, managing the chaos (this place was PACKED on a Saturday night), but still managed to be friendly, attentive and focused. And despite ordering two cocktails, two appetizers, and two entreés, our bill was somehow still less than $100, I'd say that you definitely get your money's worth here! Hell, we even took enough leftover back to our hotel to keep us fed almost the entire next day! In short, I would vote whomever is running THIS White House in for a second term...and a third...and a fourth!

Wouldn't say that the options for vegetarians was also a prime factor because back in India it is like vice versa .. the meat options have to be found and not the veggie ones .. he he :) So, our first visit here in Spokane was by pure chance .. walking in the mall hunger struck but we thought of giving the food court a miss without even looking at the options .. And then a friend thought if there were any rest rooms down that corner .. we surely didn't find any rest rooms but we did find a Pita Pit :) But then all of a sudden all those memories came flooding by .. countless lunches .. and the hopes went up like a rocket .. All in all, so glad that we took a surprise pitstop at pita pit the other day otherwise we would just be making speculations on how good would be that pita sandwich. Go for it :)
