    New England Clam Chowder***
    Rachel L.

Haven't visited here in years!! Went with my mom and boyfriend. For starters we shared the traditional calamari and the clam chowder. The calamari was standard; crispy with generous amounts of squid, but you do have to ask for tartar sauce and lemon because it is only served with cocktail sauce. The clam chowder was quite excellent! Served piping hot, creamy, with a good amount of clam and potato chunks. Very good when you dip the complimentary sour dough in it. For my entree, I had the build your own two protein: I chose halibut ($5 extra) and trout. Both were lightly seasoned which was nice because you could still taste the fish. However, both fish could have been more flaky and soft. The fish and chips my boyfriend got were very flaky, crispy and delicious! Fries were a bit over done though in my opinion. My mom always loves their seafood salad. It's a solid option for american seafood, but also quite pricy. Wouldn't necessarily recommend this to anyone but also not a bad option. Service was attentive and quick, and the place is very dim. Both indoor and outdoor seats are available.

Wow what an amazing introduction to butter fish! I've never even heard of it before but it was their special that day so decided to try it out and it was phenomenal. So tender and just totally soaked up all the flavor of the sauce. The coconut rice and broccolini perfectly paired with the fish and all around the whole dish was great. They serve complimentary bread that tasted so fresh and the calamari was really good too, not too oily as I've had before. The service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant itself had a nice aesthetic to it.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a very friendly staff. The bar area is on the smaller side, but they do offer individual tables there, which makes it comfortable and inviting. The food was really good I ordered the hamburger and fries, and both were delicious. The ambience is definitely one of the highlights, although the place does get busy. They also have a solid selection of IPAs at decent prices. What stood out most was how attentive and welcoming all the staff members were throughout the visit. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, drinks, and a lively vibe.

Seafood Salad. My friend loves this. She indicated that the seafood was so fresh.

We were in Fremont for a Line Dancing event and this place was recommended to us. Each of us ordered something different and we all loved our food. Delicious. Things started falling apart midway through our meal. Three of us ordered cocktails. Had to keep asking where they were. "In the process of being made." Had to ask again. Beer never showed up. "We are out of that one and the bartender just didn't say anything. " Had to ask for soy sauce for our sushi roll numerous times. Same with salt and pepper, which we never did get. Our waiter seemed a bit flustered. Reason for the 4 stars. If the service would have been up to snuff, this would definitely be a 5 because the food was so delicious. Nice decor. Very comfortable.

    Lobster Roll***

Market Broiler is a very nice seafood restaurant to dine at. The decor is nice with lots of wood to make you feel you're dining on a pier. There is a nice seafood display similar to open fish markets on the wharf selling crab and assorted fish. The service is excellent. Our server was attentive and helpful. The restaurant manager stopped by to see how everything was. Build your own (petit filet and 5 oz lobster) - 4/5 You have a selection of choices of what to select on the "Build your own" selection. The base price starts off at $29.95, then you select your food options. There's an uncharged on the most popular selections like lobster and steaks. My lobster was cooked to perfection. Very tender and sweet. The filet was pretty small for the up-charge, and was slight over cooked from the medium rare I ordered. But was still tender and good. The grilled asparagus was a $4 up-charge and you only get 3 spears of asparagus. With the up-charged, my dish, the price was over $46. Lobster Roll - 5/5 The Lobster Roll was very delicious. You get some Lobster tail, but Lobster claw meat is more prominent (see pic). Still the spices along with the clarified butter made this roll very tasty and delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Market Broiler. It's a little pricy for the average consumer for consistent visits, but for special occasions birthdays, Mother's Day, the Market Broiler is a great place to dine.

This was my first time eating here and man didn't make a great first impression!! It had a very dark, rustic or nautical, feel with the random knots and ropes around in the foyer, but also a fireplace and warm looking relaxing, cute aesthetics. The server was very helpful and we were able to order very easily. I ordered the Seabass with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and some olive trimmings. my boyfriend got the building your own meal thing and he had some sort of fish with shrimp and brussels sprouts without the candy bacon but they were way too sweet for both of our liking! I guess we're just more traditional and we like regular brussels sprouts without all the sugar. Lol. Both dishes were really well prepared and had great sauces or dips/marinades with them. At least when it came to the fish concepts. We were also able to order a bottle of white wine, which went perfectly well with our seafood and everything came out in a timely matter! I was very impressed with everything, especially since we were eating so late at night on a Thursday night. Hee I would love to come back and try a couple more items on their menu!! They also had a TV screen/monitor showing all their items that I didn't realize until after I ordered my food, but there were so many delicious looking items on that picture screen I wish I would have looked at that before I picked my items from the menu, but I just reading the details. Pictures say 1000 more words! Lol oops! I will definitely be back!

    Fisherman's Stew
    Latoya H.

We had a wonderful date night at Market Broiler in Fremont! We ordered the 10 oz. rock lobster tail with cheesy mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables, along with a glass of Chardonnay, and everything was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Fisherman's Stew and some deep-fried shrimp, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The lobster was tender and paired so well with the creamy mashed potatoes, and the Fisherman's Stew was hearty and packed with seafood. The fried shrimp were crispy and satisfying without being greasy. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was attentive, Saul was an excellent server, and the food exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a great seafood spot in Fremont, Market Broiler is definitely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back!

SIP All Day Happy Hour Menu for Outdoor Dining Only
    Laurent N.

TLDR: high quality seafood with a nice clean ambience. Fair prices on their happy hour menu and daily specials I've been a big fan of this establishment for years. I enjoy their large variety of happy hour options, and they cater to people at different price points. I haven't taken advantage of their daily specials as much as I'd like, but I'll drop by again soon to check out their Atlantic Cod Fish and Chips on a Friday. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy seafood, drinks, or even surf and turf.

Salmon with vegetables and Cheese Potatoes

I came here on a Friday night to have dinner with my girlfriend. There was no wait time. The customer service was great. The best service I have had at Market Broiler since they moved to this current location in Fremont from the old one. I made my own combo of double salmon, with vegetables and cheesy potatoes. It was perfect. Really good food. The fresh sourdough bread was also great. This food was also the best I've had since they moved. I was really impressed by this visit and plan to try and come back again soon.

    Seared Ahi Salad* ***
    Tony B.

Continues to be a perfect business lunch for any occasion! For years the seafood salad has been my go-to but I went for the Ahi salad this week and glad I did! A noticeably much better fish portion than most other restaurants. I highly recommend a cup of chowder to start your meal!

    fish tacos

Came here for lunch today with my friend. Given a booth which was very comfy. I thought the food had good quantity and good flavors but nothing to write home about. Seafood salad was covered with toppings. Refreshing and I liked that the salad dressing was off to the side. You can pick your dressing. My friend got the fish tacos - you can have fried and grilled. Comes with 3 and chips with salsa. A lot of food. Complimentary sourdough bread - a bit on the hard side - better was well whipped but can be a bit more savory. Our server Mike was 5 stars. He was very personable and nice. He gave good recommendations and also a complimentary creme brûlée. I would come back just to have him as my server.

    Creole Jambalaya
    Grace H.

Nice seafood restaurant. They have a huge menu with tons of seafood and also beef options. Their menu selection is great. My party of 6 and I started with the sourdough which came out hot. We then got the sampler appetizer which came with coconut shrimp, California roll, flautas, calamari, etc. The sampler was pretty good but I thought the calamari was underwhelming. I think I might skip next time as calamari is usually my fav appetizer. The portion was good though for a shareable and it was nice trying different items. I ordered the jambalaya and it had a lot of seafood, chicken, and sausage. It was a little too salty for my liking but still nicely seasoned. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food and thought everything was good. Service was very attentive. Our waitress, Destiny, was great. It was my mom's birthday and we brought a cake and Destiny made sure we had extra silverware and all. Super nice and great service throughout. All the staff were friendly. Overall, will definitely be back. Good food options and great staff!

Market Broiler has been a regular seafood spot for many years especially when I lived in the Bay Area and do still go whenever I get a chance. It is spacious inside with plenty of dining booths, and there is outside patio seating as well. It is well maintained with nice decor. Lots of parking located at a big shopping plaza. Greeted quickly once inside and seated at a booth with a menu. Bread and creamy butter served once seated. Ordered a bowl of 50/50 Boston and Manhattan clam chowder. Also got their lunch special shrimp scampi which was served with buttery garlic bread. Food was delicious as always! Service was very good and the server checked in quite often on any additional requests. Will be back again for sure whenever I get a chance visiting the Bay!

I didn't know that you could call for a reservation, or get on their waitlist with Yelp. I was going to do my order to go, when I was asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. Not at all. I was seated right away, and I was helped by Allison, who was also tending bar. She was a very nice lady, and she took very good care of me. The restaurant has. A nautical theme to it. I decided to go with the Cajun chowder, and the softshell crab po' boy. . My food comes quickly, and the order was huge! It was a very good, rich chowder, with just a tiny bit of a "zip" from the Cajun spices. They definitely gave it a good flavor. There were lots of goodies inside. The one thing about the chowder, was they didn't take out the bay leaves, and I did get a couple.. I just put them off to the side. I'm not going to take off a star, because the chowder was so good. Hey, It happens.... The po' boy was huge! The softshell crab was not over breaded. I could taste the crab with no problem, and it was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with that wonderful "crabby" flavor. The roll was a soft roll, , but it still held up to the sandwich extremely well The lettuce, and tomato were crisp and fresh . The Cajun fries, had a little bit of a zip to them, but not too much. they came with ketchup, and their house Cajun sauce. I didn't even touch the ketchup. The sandwich already had some Cajun sauce on it, I put a little bit more. The rest, I used to dip the fries. I only made it halfway through the sandwich, and the fries. The rest came back to my room with me for another great meal. I also got another little "tub" of that sauce to take with me. The entire time, Alison was so personable, , we chatted a little bit about this and that... She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. (Tell her boss to give her a raise...:). The price was extremely reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and they also have a military/veterans discount this was such a great meal, I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so very much

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality felt a bit inconsistent. Our server wasn't very friendly, which made the experience feel a little off from the start. That said, the inside of the restaurant was really nice--clean, with a cool atmosphere and plenty of TVs. Unfortunately, the soda machine seemed like it needed maintenance, as the drinks came out flat or had a strange taste. As for the food, the garlic noodles were definitely a highlight--delicious and flavorful. However, the seafood boil was disappointing. It lacked seasoning, and everything seemed to be sitting in oil rather than a well-balanced sauce. For a group of 15 ordering crab, king crab legs, and shrimp, we expected much more flavor and quality for the price. Overall, we really wanted to love this place, but the experience didn't quite meet our expectations for such a special occasion.

Looking through old photos recently brought back memories, and I realized I never got around to sharing our experience. We had a wonderful time--the food was delicious, the service was great, and overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience. While I never made it back, my husband has visited a few times with friends and always had good things to say. The main reason we haven't returned as a family is because both of our boys (now adults) are allergic to seafood, and I usually prefer having them with us when we dine out. When I asked about getting a different table, her attitude toward me was rude and unwelcoming. I understand that restaurants have seating policies and that sometimes certain tables may be reserved, but I believe customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. In this situation, I felt that I was treated unnecessarily poorly, especially considering that there were plenty of other tables available. I am not writing this complaint to cause trouble for anyone. I simply believe management should be aware of how customers are being treated. They don't have a full bar and primarily offer beer, wine, and sake, but I have to give them credit for their creative cocktail menu using sake and rum. I've also been here for brunch a few times over the years, and they have a great brunch menu that I would definitely recommend. Their espresso martini was surprisingly great, too! Their tea selection is another nice touch and is beautifully presented. Overall, Hoho is definitely a restaurant I'd recommend for locals looking for a fun, modern take on Japanese dining without having to leave Fremont. Between the generous tasting menu, good service, creative drinks, and great brunch offerings, it's an enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be back and next time, I'd love to skip the tasting menu and explore more of their à la carte dinner offerings.

They have a bright and airy space, although the fake plants at the entrance make you wonder if this really is an upscale place. They also have an outdoor patio where we saw a group dining with one of their furry friends. For appetizers, we ordered the Kerala chicken fry - well seasoned and crispy with a delicious dipping sauce. For the entrees, we got a potlam goat biryani - a delicious biryani wrapped in a banana leaf served table side. We also got the Fish Pollichathu, a fish grilled with a tomato based topping that was wrapped in a banana leaf and served with a tapioca mash and rice. All the dishes were delicious. The portions are generous and we ended up with leftovers to take back home. We also received a complimentary gulab jamun creme brulee since I was part of their mailing list and a pistachio tiramisu to celebrate our special occasion. A truly wonderful experience that made our evening special. We will look forward to returning to sample more of their offerings.
