Good food, good service, good music, and great view. Sit outside at the bar especially if live music is playing.

Boy has this place gone downhill. What a shame... I grew up going to skippers with my family and remember, back then, the welcoming service and yummy seafood. A recent visit included rotten coleslaw, limp frozen-not-fresh shrimp and stale bread on a poboy, and Maryland crab soup ruined by poor quality canned veggies. Our server was also so brash and rude, especially to the (well-behaved) child at our table, most of us were afraid to request anything.

The location its self is worth coming to this restaurant. The staff was awesome very friendly and attentive. We ordered the xl large crabs hush puppies and steamed shrimp and everything was delightful . Being on the water seems like it makes the food taste even better lol.

This place has potential to be great.. I'll start there! Food is great when made correctly. My first visit (August), I'd give 2.5 stars. Zach was our server and was great! From the pictures, you can see all that was ordered. I loved the crab dip with the pretzel bread and the crab crusted oysters. I also ordered the dynamic duo which to my disappointment came out cold. It wasn't even lukewarm. The whiskey sirloin was cool too. The grapefruit crush was yummy. Just has a lot of pulp. My second visit was much better in October. I ended up getting the rockfish which was delicious! My soup was piping out. And the raw oysters were fresh. Cozy vibe in there and they also have outdoor seating for nice days.

This restaurant has such a beautiful view that I was amazed. I have never seen such a beautiful view before. The seafood is very fresh.

Our Valentine dinner date. Lobster on special menu was delicious. Fried oysters, mussels were yummy. Waitress was great! Gorgeous view..

We loved our food, our cold IPAs, the great sunset view and shout out to our friendly servers Hunter!

This was a nice little getaway from the city. We were here mid-afternoon on a Saturday, and while we were seated immediately, we did use overflow parking. Service is slow, but that wasn't an issue because we knew that prior to visiting. Our server was friendly and so were the hosts. Our food was good. Can't go wrong with a burger and a chicken sandwich. I loved my sandwich. Drinks weren't great. Definitely watered down and flavorless, making this a future skip if wanting cocktails. Vibes were fun and it was nice to be on the water.

1st I have to give our server Hunter all the praise! He was fantastic! We had a reservation for 10, 14 showed up. We were celebrating a birthday and Hunter did not miss a beat! Drinks were timely and flowing, food came out correctly despite the comings and goings/seat changes of us girls. View is gorgeous, restaurant is so cute. I love the number of bathrooms on each side. Food was delicious. Crab cakes and crab dip were YUM! Fried pickles, so good. My friend had the nachos and shared. The entire table loved them. Overall, great dining experience!

Had such high hopes. Beautiful location, and little wait for our party of 7 on a Sunday afternoon…read more Server was initially very attentive, but then stopped coming by. Crab dip was good, but the ahi devlied eggs had tiny pieces of tuna, and were disappointing for the price. Loaded Bloody Mary took a while for the "bacon and shrimp" garnishes, then came out with no shrimp (which had to be asked for and was brought out later). Food came out at different times, and 4 of us were almost finished by the time the other 3 entrees came out. Soft shells of the sandwich special had funnel-cake sweet batter and 2 of the 3 we ordered seemed like the crabs were past the prime of soft and were hard and chewy. Skate special had a "unique" flavor and texture, but was tolerable. Saved room to try dessert and got both the carrot cake (more like layers of blondie separated by regular cream cheese) and the blueberry creme brulee, which tasted good but did not have a smooth texture. Bussers were great at clearing the table, and brought boxes since we hadn't seen the server. When check came, we decided to pay with cash to avoid the 3% fee. When reviewing it, we found we had been charged for 2 beers that had not been ordered (which we may not have noticed if we had paid by card). The manager was responsive after we were able to get her attention and quickly corrected the check and took the payment because our server did not return. Highlights were the sides of stewed tomatoes and mac and cheese- oh, and the water was good when we were able to get refills.

This place is nestled along the quiet waterfront in Deale, Maryland; it is one of those classic Chesapeake Bay gems that manages to balance small-town charm with a lively dockside spirit. You will always find fishermen swapping stories, families gathering after a day on the water, and visitors who came for the sunset and stayed for the crab cakes. The panoramic view of Rockhold Creek is breathtaking. The vibe is relaxed and local in the best possible way: nautical flags, weathered wood, and a bar that feels as though it's been a gathering place for generations. In warm weather, the outdoor deck fills quickly, offering the ultimate place to enjoy a cold beer and a platter of seafood as the sun dips into the bay. It was too cold for us; we hope to make it back here in the spring with warmer weather. The menu at Happy Harbor is rooted in Maryland tradition but isn't afraid to have a little fun. We started with the creamy Maryland crab dip; it is served bubbling hot with toasted baguette slices. It's rich without being cloying, anchored by sweet, fresh lumps of crabmeat that remind you how close you are to the source. Next, we had the steamed blue crabs. Steamed to order, they arrived fragrant, steaming, and perfectly seasoned--the hallmark of a place that knows its craft. My wife went with the grilled rockfish sandwich--local to the Bay and cooked to perfection--which arrived simply dressed with lettuce, tomato, and a smear of house-made tartar sauce on a soft brioche roll. It's the kind of straightforward, fresh preparation that showcases confidence rather than flash. I went with the Captain's Combination Platter, a local favorite, offering a sampler of crispy fried shrimp, oysters, scallops, and a generous portion of hand-cut fries. It's hearty, unpretentious comfort food that's as much about the experience as the flavors. You can pair your meal with a craft beer from a regional brewery or a signature crush cocktail--the orange crush was my choice. As far as the service, Happy Harbor is friendly and efficient, with staff who genuinely seem to enjoy the rhythm of the place. Our server was engaging and quick with recommendations and even quicker with refills, striking just the right note between laid-back and attentive. Happy Harbor isn't chasing trends--it's celebrating tradition. It's a place where the seafood is fresh, the portions generous, and the mood somewhere between a family gathering and a dockside festival. Whether you're a local returning for your favorite crab dip or a traveler discovering the simplicity of a Maryland summer meal by the water, Happy Harbor delivers a quintessential Chesapeake experience.

We're stuck in this hospital...when we should be following that…read moremonster's trail," Roberto DaCosta (Sunspot) shook with anger as he expressed a desire to seek revenge against who or what attacked their teammate, Danielle Moonstar, leaving her on an operating table on the brink of death. "Waste o' time, Bobby, you won't find the critter there," Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), the oldest of the teenagers that make up the New Mutants, responded, "It'll be here." "What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.

I had a couple of friends in from Colorado and wanted to expose them to some authentic Maryland seafood on the water without going over to the Eastern Shore. Pirates Cove was the perfect call. Literally dockside in the tucked away town of Galesville, we sat and enjoyed drooling over all the boats. In the winter, there is a great enclosed patio that can be completely opened up in the summer. The dockside bar was closed for the season, but is hopping in the summer months. We ordered a variety of seafood appetizers and main courses to share amongst our group. Everything from the oysters, cream of crab soup, crab cakes, and mussels were perfectly prepared and delicious. Hands down the Cream of Crab soup is IMO the best in the Mid-Atlantic. They also have the half Maryland/half Cream of Crab soup option, which is one of my favorite meals. Everyone is still raving about the food and we have some CO converts from Rocky Mountain Oysters to real Maryland oysters! While the food was outstanding, the service was just as good. Our wait staff did a fantastic job walking through the menu to recommend the best options for a true Maryland seafood feast. It was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back.
