Just visited this Diner with my friends. The service was very sweet and attentive. I like when restaurants are use to tourist so they ask alot of questions however he could have explained the menus in a few more words. The food portions were big and can stay on your stomach all day walking around NYC. The Diner gives a "needs an upgrade" feel that all diners give. Overall it was a nice breakfast spot on the go.

    Tex Mex breakfast.

Quick breakfast before movie. The place was half full when we went at about 11:30am on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. Took a minutes to decide and when ready the waitress took our order soon after. The food came out quickly and was good. However, when we were ready to leave, the wait staff was bit delayed since they were busy with other patrons. So not much issue. My tex mex breakfast was quesadilla with jalapeño, cheddar, and sausage, served with guacamole and home fries. I asked for less jalapeno so it wouldn't be too spicy and possibly upset my stomach before watching movie. The quesadilla was good, home fries standard but good, and guacamole was ok. My friend's omelette was a standard omelette that is good. The menu is large and I definitely would go back to try other food. Much like the standard diners that I have experienced before which I do like because of the many options available.

Service is very slow, I have to kept waving for a waiter for him to come over. After I placed an order, the food came out very quick. Overall the food is just ok. It has no flavor, lack of salt and pepper. Fries were soggy. Could have been better.

Skylight Diner deserves at least 4 stars. I don't understand the bad reviews. They give you so much food there's enough for a doggie bag. My daughter gave me a few bites of her wrap. It's delicious and we love the big fat fries. Thanks to Skylight Diner leftovers we ate again. I'm recommending.

If you are looking for a classic american diner vibe, this is the place! The menu is expansive and the portions are big!! Our service was great. The waiter was kind, helpful, and the food came out quickly. This gets 3 stars because I found the food a bit bland, but, I would still come back.

Skylight Diner/Blueberry Pancakes: Originally, I thought these were plain hot cakes because there was not any visual of the fruit. As soon as I took my first bite, I quickly realized that was not the case. I went "bananas" over how flavorful they were.

This is my go to diner in Midtown. Excellent food, huge portions. Best of all you can tell they keep their fryer clean and hot. The onion rings are perfect.

Sky Light Diner is a decent spot with classic diner décor (though the lighting could really use an upgrade). Service is friendly, seating is plentiful, and food comes out fast. The kids loved the dollar pancakes, the chicken and waffles were tasty, and the eggs with bacon were exactly what you'd expect from a solid diner breakfast. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

    Three poached eggs and bacon.

I eat a strict carnivore diet. I ordered three poached eggs and bacon. They are both perfectly cooked, and they gave me 6 big pieces of bacon. The staff are extremely friendly. The price is comparable to other diners stopped at in midtown for the exact same thing. The place is clean with no weird smells or offending odors. The A/C is working great without the vents that make.ice cold spots at one table and heat zones in the other. The temp is nice and balanced throughout. I feel fortunate to have found this perfect spot in midtown.

If you want an authentic American diner experience, this is the place! We stayed in NYC for four nights and every morning, we had breakfast at Skylight Diner to set us up for a long day of amazing sight-seeing! The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is out of this world! I recommend the French toast with bacon. Beautiful! Prices are very reasonable, coffee was bottomless and you're given water as soon as you sit down. Great spot for breakfast in Midltown.

I love a good diner. This food and the service was excellent. They were constantly moving around while being aware if I needed anything. I felt that I was supported while given enough space to enjoy my meal. The ambiance is very interesting and infectious with the 60's style diner. I loved the decor and people watching here.

I've been coming here for years, and the quality of the food continues to keep me coming back. During this visit, I ran into a recurring issue with my lobster. It was carrying a large amount of roe, which I was actually happy about because I enjoy it and didn't want any of it to go to waste. However, the roe deep inside wasn't fully cooked during the initial steaming process. I had to go back and forth with Ash and the kitchen staff several times, but they remained patient, attentive, and committed to making sure everything was cooked properly. Ash, one of the managers, provided excellent customer service throughout the experience. While I was waiting, he kindly offered me a complimentary cup of New England clam chowder, which was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated since I was starving. Before leaving, I also ordered two more 2 lb. steamed lobsters to go. I explained my concern, and the staff made sure they were thoroughly cooked before packaging them. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I truly appreciate the team's dedication to customer satisfaction and their willingness to make things right. Their excellent service, combined with consistently great seafood, is why I've remained a loyal customer for years. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you!
