Came in with my husband on Monday night and the restaurant was pretty much empty besides a few people sitting at the bar. The server and the service was amazing and wish I could say that about the food. We ordered the steak tips appetizer, the beet salad, the dinner entree scallops and the chicken parm. The only thing I can say was awesome and worth the money, was the beet salad. Very disappointed with both entrees as they lacked flavor and the risotto was gross! The steak tips aptz seemed like leftover pieces of steak they cut off from the filets.. very tough and the gnocchi wasn't cooked at all. We don't mind paying for good food, but I regretted coming here even more when we got the bill for $140 with no drinks... $180 including a tip. Very overpriced for the quality of food. The prices on the menu are also different than what they charge you.. which is sketchy, definitely needs to be fixed. The chicken parm had barely any chicken in it, mostly breading. The ambiance was nice and seemed inviting. Don't think we'll ever be back though.. too pricey for the quality of food we received. read more

We dropped in on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch. We ordered several small plates and they were fantastic. Everything was cooked fresh. My husband and I loved the scallops and polenta. My 2-year-old liked the Mac and Cheese! Our server was very relaxed and friendly, our meal came at a timely manner, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was completely chill. We ended our meal with a simple and sweet creme brûlée. It tasted perfect! A bit pricey to be honest but not bad considering the quality of the food. We will definitely be back soon! read more

My husband and I ate here for dinner and we weren't very impressed. The food was good but way overpriced, in my opinion. My husband ordered a burger (which he enjoyed), but it didn't even come with fries. They charged extra for fries. And I got the steamed clams which were okay, but there broken shells in the pasta. We probably won't be back, there are better places in town for the money. read more

This restaurant is in my neighborhood but even if it weren't, it would be one of my favorites! The dates, ran cakes and the beet salad are some of my favorite things on the menu! It has indoor and outdoor seating. While it used to have only small plates, they've expanded their menu to include larger entree plates. We usually order 3-4 small plates for 2 of us and share! (They'll always add an extra serving if there aren't enough for everyone at the table.) they also have a great wine list and the service is excellent. If you haven't, already, try it out! We went on NYE, we were greeted right away and sat in our seats. Everyone was kind, happy and helpful. They answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. I had the scallops, which were amazing! And were a perfect portion size. My husband had the short ribs which he said were good, but not spectacular. The prices seemed a little higher than we would have liked to pay, but it was NYE, we didn't have to wait for our reservation, the service and atmosphere were amazing, and you can hardly find scallops anywhere in this town, let alone good ones, so it was a treat worth it to me. The sticky tables were the worst! Oh, but the waiter tells us it's because of covid (having had to use sanitizer on them ruined them). Then do something about it! It's just disgusting to eat on a sticky-feeling table. Besides that, our waiter was rude, didn't care that I wanted my salmon cooked a certain way, and oh yeah, my husband had lemon pulp stuck to the inside of his water glass. Eww. I hate to knock down my review by a star, but my most recent experience here was quite disappointing. It was just last weekend while mask mandates are back in place, so we were hoping to eat outside, but the patio space was full, so we agreed to be seated inside. It bothered me as I looked around mid meal and realized that only 1 of the 8 servers/hostesses had a mask on. In a situation like indoor dining where the customers have their masks off to eat, I do still expect the servers to have masks on when it is required by state mandate. Our server was prompt, but seemed to rush us through our meal and made odd comments like "well, you guys really polished all those dishes off in a hurry" that came across a bit rude. The small plates that we shared were just ok. I did enjoy the duck nachos and would get those again - the meat was tender and flavorful and I liked the thick, crunchy chips. On the other hand, the scallops were too salty while the risotto they were served with had no flavor. The highlight was the beef with gnocchi - awesome flavors, just a very small serving. I understand prices going up recently, but $80 for a fairly small amount of food just didn't seem worth it to me this visit. read more

I've visited Skyline Kitchen & Vine on a few occasions this year. I thought I was visiting a fairly new restaurant but it looks like they have been around for a few years. Boy, have I been missing out! Skyline offers a wide selection of wines, beer, and special cocktails. I've had their sangria and a few of their cocktails and I was pretty impressed. Skyline offers small plates so it is best to share your experience with a few friends. Everything I've sampled has just been outstanding. I branched our some and I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the duck nachos. Perhaps my favorite thing about Skyline is that the menu changes and that they have daily specials. On Thursdays they offer live music from local artists. In the summer it is fun to sit on their patio and enjoy the show while sipping a summer cocktail. I liked my experience at Skyline so much that I have gone back with friends and coworkers. Everyone had something good to say about the menu offerings and delicious flavors. Response to my review makes this honestly a 1-star. Prices have nothing to do with increased costs. Example: The clams vs clams linguini is what like 10 dollars more for some linguini in the same bowl? Ice cream with pie is an extra $5? Look I have no problem with it being $50+ a person per meal, this restaraunt simply does not offer a meal anywhere near that quality. read more

We've been to Skyline Kitchen and Vine several time with large and small groups. Every time the staff has been very friendly and the service is outstanding! They have also been very accommodating to me with gluten free options (celiac) which I appreciate greatly! My "go to" menu items are; Tomato burrata ( now Caprese) salad, braised short ribs, jalapeño poppers, bacon wrapped dates and lemon garlic shrimp with bananas foster (the best) for desert! Highly recommend trying it out, and during the nice weather months check out the patio! read more

I had the pleasure of eating at Skyline Kitchen & Vine last Thursday night. The staff greeted my two guests and me quickly and warmly. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. One guest and I had the salmon which came out of the kitchen perfectly. It was the best salmon either of us had ever had . It was sitting on a bed of delicious risotto and was accompanied by perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. Our friend had a burger and said that it was the best burger he's ever eaten. He said that several times through the meal! Prices were quite reasonable as well. I just moved in up the street and will definitely make this restaurant a regular go to. read more

We got a gift card here and had a great time! Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Food wise, my suggestion would be to add more options than goat cheese (almost all the dishes with cheese used only this kind). Thankfully I like it but my mom is allergic so it's be nice to not have this so prominently featured in so many of the dishes. Also the polenta was a little dry and it would be nice to have some kind of dipping sauce with the sweet potato tots. Loved the bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates. :) read more

Love the Sierra St location and my wife mentioned this new one. I really like what they did with the place - the remodel is fantastic and different from the Sierra St location in that it is much larger, a bit more hang outtie, full bar (good draft and wine selections), TVs to watch sports, outside tables, cool staff, etc... seriously tasty tapas (FINALLY A TAPA PLACE IN RENO!!). Expect to pay a little bit more because this place delivers LEGIT food (not bar food), and it's worth the extra. Looking forward to coming again with friends, ordering up some tapas, grabbing a drink, and catching my team on the flatscreen! read more

Nice ambiance, decent drinks but terrible food and small portions. Came for happy hour w others and was very disappointed. The food and drinks were not worth the price tags. The worst of it all were the short rib tacos, they came out lukewarm and had this awful horseradish cream sauce that was so overpowering. I recently ate at Skyline with a friend who wanted to try their special vegan menu they were offering as part of the Reno Vegan Chef Challenge. We ate there this past Saturday and my first impression of the atmosphere was very positive, they had a great outdoor patio and they are able to open the restaurant up when the weather is nice to make it a semi-open air concept. Unfortunately that is pretty much where my positive experience ended. They had the walls opened up but by the time we were eating, it was about 60 degree F outside and very chilly in the restaurant (so much so that I had to run back out to my car to get a sweater). And even though the entire place was wide open, it somehow still smelled very strongly of frying oil and fish. I tried to order the mango summer rolls off the Vegan menu but they were out of them. So I ended up ordering a few of their small plates - prosciutto wrapped asparagus, mini meatballs and the bacon wrapped dates (obviously I'm not the vegan in the group). I did enjoy the mini meatballs and the prosciutto. The meatballs are served with a sweet chili glaze and a small portion of polenta and the asparagus and prosciutto was cooked well and flavorful. The dates were ok, the bacon was well cooked but the dates ended up being somewhat mushy in the center. I've had similar dishes at other restaurants and in comparison these weren't great. I also ordered a drink (which was tasty as well), but I finished my drink about halfway through the meal and was never asked if I wanted another. My friend ordered the vegan mac and cheese and the vegan queso dish. In terms of presentation, they were beautifully presented, however my friend was not happy with the taste of the dishes. I eat vegan/vegetarian on a regular basis (thanks to my vegan friend) and have tried plenty of other vegan "cheese" dishes. I didn't try the mac and cheese but I did try the queso and, while I realize this is contrary to many other reviewers have said, thought it was horrible. It tasted like rancid oil and (artificial) liquid smoke. I completely understand why she only ate a bite or two. What I also found interesting was that when the waitress came to our table and my friend had barely touched her food, the waitress asked if she wanted a to-go box and when my friend said no, she just took the almost un-eaten food away. I don't think I've ever eaten somewhere where, when the waitress takes away an obviously untouched dish, they haven't asked if everything was ok with the food. Our waitress didn't bat an eye at the essentially untouched food. To end the meal, we both tried the vegan coconut rice pudding with mango coulis. We had seen their stock photo of the dish online and it looked amazing. I had also seen another friend post a picture of the dish on Facebook so we were both excited to try it. Right here is probably where the whole night went really wrong. What we were served was not at all what had been advertised. On top of that, the fresh mango was over-ripe and bruised/oxidized and very unappealing. The rice pudding itself was fine, it wasn't overly sweet and had a touch of cinnamon, it's something I would make at home and eat but not the quality I expected from the photos posted by the restaurant and definitely not worth the money spent on it ($8.95). All in, for the two of us our bill was over $90. The only items I finished were my drink and the mini meatballs (about $20 worth of items). The rest weren't worth finishing. My friend didn't finish (or barely eat) any of her dishes. This is not a place that either of us will visit again and not a place I would recommend. read more

As flight crew in private aviation, we eat at the best restaurants all over the country. This place is an absolute gem. Not only was the food absolutely spectacular, the ambiance and service was also amazing. Do yourself a favor and order the escargot, bacon wrapped dates, clams pasta and prime filet tips with gnocchi. I didn't see that the gnocchi was in a goat cheese sauce (I cannot stand goat cheese) but I ate the whole thing anyway. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Reno! read more

We originally made a reservation at the Sierra St location and were pumped to eat there. Unfortunately, day of, they texted saying Sierra St isn't actually open on Tuesday's. BUMMER. I specifically wanted to go to that location as I heard it was better and my bf only has Mon/Tues off so we're limited on days to go. Oh well! We ended up at the Skyline location and to be frank, it was nothing to write home about. Wildly average, very small, very expensive. There seemed to only be one server on? She was fine..when she actually came to the table. We stood at the front door for a solid 10 minutes before anyone ever greeted us. Even though I could see employees, what looked like a manager or supervisor maybe, standing in the kitchen facing us and totally ignoring that we were there. As a supervisor in a restaurant, it bothers me to see other employees standing around when people are up front (even if it's not your job to greet them) The food was fine, the service was fine. The saving grace and only reason for the 3 stars? The mixed berry cobbler at the end! We sadly won't be returning, but might order that cobbler to go sometime. read more

We had to chase down other waiters to get drinks, the check, etc. Overpriced for the quality of the food. The food left a lot to be desired. -The Ahi appetizer was solid. 8/10. -The caprese salad consisted of just mozzarella and tomato. No basil. No balsamic. We do a couple of tours a year to see family, and find it's better to travel when it's NOT a holiday (ahooooy long lines at the airport!) There is always so much to do when we go to Reno. It's nice to have an excuse to get away, and we are always talking about moving back to either the hubby's hometown or mine because of Bay Area Rent. But this trip wasn't to house hunt, nuh-uh, It was to have some FUN!! Since it opened just about a year ago we've loved coming to the Skyline when we are in town. We frequently end up here with a huge group of family and friends. There is a great indoor space with a nice bar and TV's for sports days, and a great outdoor space too. The staff is always kind and the food is good, we love the burgers and the small plates. Desserts are also yummy, try the chocolate cake! IT's sometimes hard to park around here so make sure to budget your time. Sometimes service can also be slow so if you have someplace to go or are in a rush this place might not be for you. But we like the variety of the small plates, the extensive wine options, the amount of space, and the fact that you can linger. Oh boy do we LINGER!! read more

that was terrible! we had a reservation for a family birthday dinner (weeks ahead of time) and heres what happened: 1) we were seated late, 2) we didn't get our dinner until nearly 2 HOURS after we placed our orders. we watched people get seated after us and finish their dinners before we saw ours. the worst part was we had 4 kids with us who were so hungry. we politely asked if the kids meals could be delivered sooner, but got the "it will come out when the kitchen sends it" response. we had a 6:00 reservation and didn't get dinner served until 8:45 and it was on Thursday night! this restaurant has been great for years... not any more. read more

Really enjoyable -at least for the circumstances under covid- it was very clean inside with distanced tables, our server was also kind enough to roll up the garage door (without request) in front of our table just so we would have fresh air. Was very pleasant and it smelt like rain. I loved it. I like to eat light for lunch so I ordered an ap sized seared scallops with starch and lobster sauce. The scallops weren't necessarily fresh. I cook quite a bit and have been taught by multiple teachers and chefs alike that scallops shouldn't smell like bad fish unless they're old...these scallops smelt FISHY. Depressing. I cut into them anyways and decided to eat them after seeing they were cooked beautifully. This was a great choice as the flavor was amazing. Best scallops i've had in a while. My friend also enjoyed his burger. I'll definitely be back. The food, the service, and the atmosphere was very ideal - especially being right around the corner from home. Went for valentines day and it was a very negative experience. First, the menu was very limited and had very little to no options for dairy free side dishes (no rice or potato without a heavy dairy). We understand restaurants limit the menu for holidays which wasn't the problem, the issue is the lack of options for dairy sensitive people. Not only were we extremely limited on the menu, but the prices were high considering what they gave you. Definitely not worth the money they charge. Next, the food was awful. The bruschetta bread was so hard it was difficult to eat. It reminded me of those nature valley bars that you can barely bite into. The pasta came out half cold. It was also tasteless. $40 for tasteless cold pasta was a huge disappointment. The steak was undercooked, hard to cut, and chewy to eat. Definitely a very low-quality steak. We had to ask for a different knife because the one they provided was not cutting the steak. They also gave a mashed potato side (very little) and vegetables (very little) which just looked like some shaved carrots and a single slice of zucchini. It was dismal and just not what you would expect for $60. The one good thing was the shrimp (they give you 3) tasted alright. Service was slow as it took 30 minimum to order. We pass that off as holiday issues. They also sat guests by the door who were wearing winter coats, presumably because it was so cold. Further, they brought in outside patio chairs that were cold to sit on. It was tacky. Would not recommend to anyone. There are far nicer places in Reno that care about the quality of the food and are worth the money. This was not it. read more

I had my hopes up for this place but was left pretty disappointed. I looked past the fact that we were ignored at the door for the first minute or two that we were standing at the podium. Just as we were about to seat ourselves someone came and helped us to a table. There definitely was no shortage of them as there were less than 10 patrons in the restaurant. In all we ordered 6 plates and only one stands out as something I would order again (flank steak skewers were really good!). The shrimp and sausage skewers were over cooked with rubbery shrimp; the duck nachos were overly salty and smothered with rich heavy flavors; the crab cakes had almost no crust and were heavy with pepper flavor (white pepper maybe?); the chorizo stuffed mushrooms and Thai lettuce wraps weren't bad but felt like they were missing something. After several drinks and dinner, we spent close to $100 but walked away disappointed. I'm all for giving it another chance since I have heard good things but I will definitely be arriving a skeptic. read more
