Both the Downtown and Sandy locations are excellent. Always a nice vibe and ambiance, relaxed but not so relaxed that I am worried about the cleanliness or quality of food. Beer and pizza selection is awesome, sandwiches and salads and monthly cocktails should not be looked over either though! Servers are also always friendly and attractive! Not worth it. I've tried this place TWICE and BOTH TIMES they supposedly lost our order tickets so we waited hours for food. Both times the waiters never came back to check on our table or even tell us the order was lost. We had to flag down other workers to even tell us this happened. SLACK WATER WAS SLACKING. Took us forever to get a waitress, then when she served us with no plates, silverware, or napkins she walked off and was literally never to be seen again. We never got our drinks refilled and we were there for about an hour. The other two waiters were sitting down on their phones in the corner while the whole floor was disgusting. I frequent Slackwater in Sandy a few times per month, whenever back in Utah. They are easy to get a table using the Yelp waitlist or if just two guests, grab a spot at the bar. Servers are always nice and professional, if not always quick (because they seem to always have a full house these days). You cannot go wrong with pizzas - I've tried most of them and always delicious. Every meal includes a spinach salad with apple bacon vinaigrette. Huge beer selection + decent wine selection for a mostly beer joint. If you are a nachos fan, give those a try too! What do I steer clear of? Their sangria monthly specials. They tend to be low alcohol, low flavor, not worth the money. read more

We went back after the manager/owner Joey reached out. There was no wait at 5:30 on a Saturday so the previous experience wasn't tested again, Joey gave us $50 gift card toward dinner. The service was prompt, the food came out hot and quickly. The most unique thing we had was the buffalo wing sauce we enjoyed it. The wings however were tiny in comparison to other restaurants. The pizzas all got a this is good not great review. This place is about 20-30 minute trip for our party. I would say over all on a scale of 1-10 this is solid 7 maybe an 8 in our books. Pizza was ok defiantly Not the best we have had and not worth the long wait! It was $55 for 3 personal pizza's which were burnt and didn't have much flavor. Not sure what all the hype is about but definitely not worth it. It is also so loud inside that we were screaming at each other because it was so loud inside and all the people waiting to be seated stare at you while your eating which is weird. read more

Service was amazing, pizza was so good. But the only alcoholic drinks they have are beer or extremely sweet, almost juice like sangria. Also, can get really crowded, table spacing is not mindful so it feels like you're eating with someone else's family. read more

The only reason I gave "1" was because the appetizer (Stuffed Sticks) were delicious and we filled up on them. I had the Cu-banned sandwich with the house potato chips. Because I filled up on appetizer and chips, I had the sandwich to go. Got home to put in a sandwich bag for dinner. The bread was so hard it could not be bit thru. There was so little actual pork and ham it looked like a kids meal. I don't mind paying $11.00 for a good sandwich, but this was ridiculous. I would have said something if I would have tried it there. Live and learn. My friends had the pizza. It didn't look spectacular, but I can't say for them. read more

Went here finally after hearing all the buzz. They do have lots of great beers, but I'm sorry I thought the pizza and salad were sub-par. I have had many wood fired pizzas and this just wasn't that great! The crust was bland- not chewy at all. The toppings had no flavor. I also ordered half a house salad. Nothing special. The blue cheese dressing was bland. Hey if ya want good wood fired pizza try Sicilia Mia,Settebello, emigration brewery. But if you're looking for some specially good pizza, I wouldn't go here. I mentioned my experience with my neighbors (who are also foodies) and their experience was the same as mine. I drove all the way from 3300 south to try this place. Bummed. read more

Pizza was awesome. It was so hot. Hurt for days. Better name would have been gut wrencher, taste of death, after life, something along the lines of the Amazon gummy bear reviews. It tastes so good but hurts so bad. It's not horrible gummy bear bum burning worst day of your life experience more like a subtle reminder it's there, and will be there when you wake up and go to work and to bed. It's an odd feeling like it is waiting for more food in your gut to take over and call it's own. If your not feeling good eat that pizza it will kill what ever is beating you up.
