Pizza was fantastic. We just moved here from Nevada and I missed our old favorite pizza place. This was pretty dang close. The pizza was amazing but I am personally not a fan of how dark it was in there nor how noisy it was. That's just a personal preference, though. It was worth it for the pizza. read more

Slackwater is ALWAYS delicious, their staff is great (especially Joey), I love their seasonal cocktails and beers, and I've never eaten anything there that I didn't love. This place is definitely worth it! Everything I have tried I like. Their sandwiches are super tasty. They have great vegetarian and vegan options. This time I had the Tree hugger sandwich with a side salad and was quite impressed. It was very flavorful for being just a veggie sandwich. The pickled cucumber and red onion really topped it off. Edit: Joey responded to my email and was very helpful- he assured me he would speak to his to go staff and have them put their sauces in bags. Hopefully this won't happen again. One word sums up our experience here: YIKES. The other night my father came to Slackwater to pick up our food. The manager who brought out the food slid all 6 boxes and 3 containers in the window. Due to the contents being too much to handle and the 3 containers sliding around, an entire container of marinara sauce spilled over the rental cars light cloth seats. Why were these containers not in a bag? Why are your deliveries done in such a way that the food is not securely handed off to customers? My father worked with the girls in the front (the only ones who were helpful) to get up as much as possible, however there is still a large stain. After getting back to the hotel, the dark, black sauce was spilling out of the box as well. When I called the manager he admitted he was the one who sloppily put the food in the car. All he could offer was an "I'm sorry" and an email address. I'd be hard pressed to find customer service as terrible as this at other restaurants with this price point. We bought lots of cleaning supplies but ultimately our rental van had to be returned with a marinara stain from a seemingly avoidable event. Use bags and don't force your food into the window in one trip. After emailing Joey, we did not hear back. On top of that our food was just subpar. Our hometown has much better gourmet pizza for much much cheaper. My pizza barely had any toppings on it. So so sloppy all around... read more

Pretty frickin good. You can tell they make most of their stuff from scratch. All the food has a very homemade and unique spin. They make their dishes their own. It's refreshing to eat somewhere that does it there own way and doesn't just rip others off. This place is fun. They are winners. They use great ingredients and fresh food. It's all pretty affordable too. You won't walk out regretting spending money here. We got a ton of food and stuffed our face and went home with a good amount of leftovers. It all was flavorful. However the toppings on the pizza are kinda skimpy. You can tell that they are putting the minimum on the pizza. Just enough to make it flavorful but they aren't giving you anything to dig your teeth into. I'm not mad at this, for tines are tough. And they are doing their best to balance what they put on their pizza while keeping the costs low for customers. But they can't cut back anymore. If management actually reads this...yall...you can't cut back anymore. You're right there on the edge. Any less toppings and it'd just be like a big piece of delcious homemade toast and not a pizza. People will start wondering what's going on. You start losing the taste of the toppings and all you get is bread. A few bites I had were almost all bread. Apps were wonderful. Omg so good. The wings were frickin tiny. Like very small, which was weird. But there were enough of them to make it up. Very good though. Some of the best I've had. Overall, Slackwater is great. The service was mediocre but they did their job. I reccomend going here. But like I said, the pizzas are getting noticeably skimpy. The food is outstanding and priced incredibly well. Honestly--and I hate to say this in fear of the consequences--the food could be priced double what it is now and still be worth it. The nachos are an excellent appetizer and could easily satisfy 4-6 people. The tikka masala pizza is a heaven-send. Utterly decadent! This one of the coziest places in Utah. Warm lighting and candles at the table! Also the branding is on point. It's a small thing, but the typeface they've chosen for the menu and logo is really quite nice. I have gone to Slackwater different times three times while visiting in SLC. It is a favorite of friends. Each time the food was good, but not anything you would crave or have your mind blown over. Now the service. The hostesses are seriously the worst. They are on their phones, don't acknowledge people coming in the door and don't understand how to manage the open seats. The servers were mediocre. I asked for something four times, yet never received it, yet they came to the table often. All in all, plan on a long visit with okay food. As I am not a drinker I will leave that review to someone else. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza calzone style. Initial bite was good with layers of flavor. My second bite included some of the Gorgonzola topping and my tongue went on a trip to flavor town. The dough is fluffy, firm, and just enough chew that makes it very tasty. My friend ordered the margarita pizza and was gracious enough to allow me to dable with those flavors and it was good but the balsamic left me with the desire for a stronger flavor of the sweet vinaigrette combination. Overall, the experience with my friends and the food was one that I will employ in my future with my beautiful wife. read more

We love Slackwater. It's honestly an entire experience. From the fire pits outside when you t there, to the unique atmosphere and indoor/outdoor feel. We love the appetizers here. I always get Check your Garlic breath. It's an offensively overpowering deliciousness of Gorgonzola and straight roasted garlic on bread. So. Freaking. Good. Their cheese bread with ricotta is Also delicious and I like to look at their specials when we go in as they are always making something new. The pizza. The pizza is also on another level. It's a crusty, sweet, chewy dough that I wish I could replicate. Seriously I don't know what they are doing to make it taste that good but I crave it. It keeps me going back for more. They also have really unique flavors (grape Gorgonzola anyone?) Take your friends. Take your family. Take your coworkers. Take your kids. Take your significant other. I have visited other slackwater locations and was very happy with the service and food, however this particular location was lacking. We were seated quickly which was great, but we did not have a server approach us for 15 minutes and ended up requesting help to get water from a server passing by. After we received out drinks it was another 10 minutes before our server came by for the first time. I generally try to be accommodating and patient, but the restaurant was not overly busy (as evidenced by our quick seating) and all other tables seemed to be receiving quick service. The food was good, though not helped by seeing the health violations yelp lists, but the service was terrible. Won't be returning. read more
