    Side of Chicken Sausage

I ordered a few brunch items for delivery. Those included the Spicy Tuna Bowl, a side of Chicken Sausage and a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The delicious tuna bowl included fresh seared tuna (done about medium rare), avocado, cucumber, radish, arugula, wasabi nori, cilantro-pepino quinoa with a generous dousing of tamari-ginger vinaigrette and a spicy aioli. I was not a great fan of the quinoa seasoning, but I never cared much for cilantro so that's on me. If I were to order again, I would get the regular quinoa bowl and add the seared tuna. The chicken sausage was very tasty, as was the grilled cheese. Delivery was fast, and packing was perfectly done. Highly recommended for a healthy salad bowl or for breakfast/brunch dishes.

I love their food and drinks. I wished I lived near one. My favorite is the matcha coconut yogurt bowl. So good.

A rainy Sunday morning brought us to Slate Cafe in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of the lower East Side of Manhattan. The cafe is cute and modern inside. Order at the counter from the menu on the wall or handheld copies found inside. A decent amount of seating is available with a half dozen two tops and 2 8 tops with a smattering of window counter seats. The cafe was busy and most seat taken, a few by study/work folks oblivious to the need to turn tables on a busy weekend. We ordered coffees and entrees and crossed our fingers hoping to find seats. After a few minutes we secured a pair of window counter seats and counted ourselves lucky. The coffees were warming and tasty. Our entrees arrived and we dug in. My wife ordered the mushroom omelette and I had the avocado burratta sandwich. My wife loved her omelette as it was hot and hardy. My sandwich was tasty but battled to stay with the confines of the bread. A crispy piece of prosciutto would add some crunch and some structure, perhaps a suggestion worth taking. All in all we enjoyed our respite from the rain and enjoyed our visit to the Slate Cafe.

Latte with hazelnut and almond milk

Came in to kill time before my doctors appointment and was not disappointed. First thing for me is always cleanliness and the cafe was indeed clean. Second thing I take into account is the service and the barista was so pleasant and patient. He made friendly banter with almost all the customers. Last but most important my latte. It was delicious I had a hazelnut latte with almond milk and I would go back for it every single day if u could!

    Delicious! On GF toast.

We loved this cafe. Cute corner bistro with wonderfully delicious gluten free options. Service was simple- order up front and they give you a number so when your order is ready they deliver it to your table. Lovely decor, clean and natural wood and colors. Very cheerful. Free water area to pour yourself a glass of NYC's finest (no joke).

Stopped in for an iced coffee. This cafe is huge! Service is amazing. The barista was genuinely so sweet. I got an Iced Latte with salted caramel syrup and it was great. Will definitely be back to try more things and sit down!

Charming place with great coffee and delicious brekkie options. Ample seating although the AC wasn't working quite as well as we'd have liked on a hot NYC summer day. Service is friendly and fast. Highly recommend the scrambled eggs with bacon & cheese.

Favorite spot in New York. Feels like a local spot. Great place to work, grab and go or sit for breakfast or lunch. They have gluten free bread which was so good. As well as gluten free pastries. It had a great vibe and I went back multiple times while visiting NYC. Staff were nice and friendly. Definitely recommend. Tea + coffee + lots of other fun drink options!

Had a lovely breakfast with a friend here on a weekday morning! The Midtown East location is mid-sized and bustling from 8 am onwards, but the line moves quickly. There is quite a bit of seating, but the place fills up quickly and is a bit noisy. This is better suited as a social or catch-up breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot, rather than a "work from home" spot. My friend got a tea, and I ordered a cortado and the "Breakfast Bowl." The cortado was high-quality, and the Breakfast Bowl was SO good, I had to write a Yelp review specifically to shout it out. :D The food pricing is pretty standard for the area ($13-18), but the portion sizes are huge, and this dish in particular was incredibly flavorful. Definitely recommend!

Met up with a few friends for brunch at Slate and we really enjoyed the meal! It was pretty packed when we walked in, but luckily we were able to snag a spot for 4 people after waiting about 15 minutes. Food was solid, the bacon scramble being my favorite. Vietnamese iced coffee delicious. Cute atmosphere too.

Slate is very cute and a great place for brunch or lunch. It was really packed when I went, which is always a good sign, but did make it a bit of a war to find a seat. My avocado burrata sandwich was delicious, and I would love to come back to try some of the other yummy options on their menu.

This breakfast place is so good. Definitely a must when you're in the area. The concept is simple, you order your drink/food at the counter, they give you a number, and they'll bring it to the table (open seating). We had the waffles with the rose berries, chicken pesto bowl, bacon scramble, and some kind of toast I forgot what kind. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly. I will definitely come back on my next visit to NYC.

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.
