This has been such a regrettable experience. I was so looking forward to purchasing a Sleep Number bed since I slept on one at a hotel I'd stayed at previously. For me, this was a pricy investment, but I know that I need a firm bed due to back pain that I experience. So I made a decision that the cost would be worth it. With a 25 year warranty, I felt I was making a smart overall purchase. I purchased the dual chamber mattress in 2017. The salesman was friendly and helpful as I asked many questions. One of our conversations was about purchasing the base with the mattress. It was an extra expense and the gentleman told me that it wouldn't be necessary as long as I had a decent box spring, which I did. Within a couple of days, I noticed that the right side chamber was significantly lower than the left side chamber at equal settings. I called sleep number customer service and they sent me a piece of foam to lay over the lower chamber. This only made the right side of the mattress now higher than the left side. I called sleep number again, which wasn't easy for me as I work full-time during the day. My work hours are the only hours that I am able to reach the store over the phone and the wait times to speak to a representative was usually 20/30 minutes. After several phone conversations, emails and online chats, I was given more unsuccessful remedy after remedy. At some point, I asked about the warranty and was told that at that point, there were no options for return, only exchange at a depreciated rate. I was given another remedy and told to call back if that didn't work. At this point, I was so tired of dealing with the frustration and going back and forth that I gave up, especially as a return was now out of the question. Two years later, the problem has progressed so that it became easy for me to determine that my right chamber has a slow leak. I decided that I might as well buy a replacement chamber at the discounted rate rather than have to buy a completely new mattress. Rather than get caught up on the phone again, I decided to use the online chat function. As not to have to retell/rewrite the whole history, my first question to Mariah was, "Are you able to review the history of my purchase?" I asked several time and she wouldn't respond to my question which meant that I had to explain the whole above matter. At some point she asked about whether I had purchased a base with the mattress. When I indicated that I didn't (which she already knew) this was her response... "Mariah at 13:23, Jun 4: The box spring caused damage to the bed. Which now voids the warranty Martin at 13:24, Jun 4: What? When I bought the mattress, I was told I could put it on a box spring. When I was in contact previously with your representatives, I was never told that using a box spring voids the warranty. Mariah at 13:25, Jun 4: I don't know who told you that you could put it on a box spring, but we have always recommended that our mattresses be put on a platform style base as box springs are not supportive and issues like this arise. It doesn't say in the notes that you even brought up a box spring so I'm not sure what was said. They did note however that you should've contacted us right away back in 2017" I asked to speak with a supervisor, she refused to allow that. I asked her to show me where in the warranty it states that using a box spring with the mattress voids the warranty, she wouldn't provide that. I also asked how she could determine that my box spring damaged the bed as, at this time, it has not been determined what the nature of the damage is. She then ended the chat conversation. Sleep number and their customer service has been a total disappointment for me. I'm not rich and I've never spent this amount of money on a bed. I never expected this kind of service or treatment. I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone. read more

These people try to sell you a dream! They make you lay down on this very uncomfortable bed and stare at the ceiling to get your sleep number. What a bunch of crap!! On top of that the amount of money they want to charge you is absolutely stupid!!!!! The salesman come off as creepy because they constantly have this what I would call a creepy dream even voice when they speak to you while laying down on their very overpriced uncomfortable beds. I went over to Ortho And got an amazing bed for half the cost of what sleep number wanted to charge and I got it the same day. The salesman did not try to sell me a pipe dream he strictly said lay down tell me what you like and we would handle it. I didn't need no sleep number. I didn't need to know what my body temperature was. I simply wanted to know what felt comfortable when I lay down on it. If I can give sleep number and negative star trust me I would. Don't go to this place they are trying to sell you a pipe dream for way too much money!! read more

I have a sleep number bed and three sets of sleep number sheets for the bed. The sales staff at the store touted the 100% satisfaction guarantee. If the bed was not comfortable for us we could return it with no problems. What they failed to disclose was that the mattress only, not base, was the returnable item. The base was more than half the cost. When the mattress had nothing but problems we quickly found out we would be stuck with their expensive base. That started a long process of them sending through the mail to us new hoses, a new motor, making appointments for repair people... nothing but hassles. In the midst of this a customer service person sent us complimentary winter soft sheets. Two years later the sheets were the best thing about sleep number. I recently order 4 sets of queen sheets for my children. They were received, washed according to the directions (as I've been washing the king sheets) and placed on the beds. All four sets have pillow cases that are too small. They do not fit standard pillows. Once again I've had to deal with ridiculous and inefficient procedures sleep number provides. They are making me send back all four sets in their entirety and sending four new sets. Even though it is highly unlikely that this is a fluke of four sets of sheets but more likely it is an overall product flaw. I asked for four king size pillow cases because I know I can fold them in as I do currently with mine because I prefer to sleep with standard size pillows. They refused to do this and will only send out new sets and a return label for me to send back the old sets. Sleep number has been nothing but a hassle and if I knew this from the beginning I never world have gone into the store. I recently needed new beds and ordered them all from Mattress firm. They were forthright, efficient, extremely helpful and the beds are amazingly comfortable. I highly recommend these stores. We had the area manager help us at the Plymouth meeting Pennsylvania store and he was 100% more knowledgeable in helping us to judge how comfortable we would be than the sleep number salesperson. And their guarantee is completely legitimate. The sales person made sure we purchased the mattress covers in case we had to return anything. He did not hide the fact that it could be an important matter down the road. We purchased queens with them but are currently switching a queen for a king. Mattress Firm is definitely the right choice in making a mattress purchase! Sleep number is a very bad choice. read more

I'm in the market to buy a new bed and heard a lot of positive reviews for the Sleep Number Bed. After spending more than an hour with the salesperson, (don't remember his name but he was a bald pensioner), I really was not impressed. The air beds are all relatively the same as far as the air mattress part. They just add a thicker layer of foam as the price gets higher. So basically you could buy the cheaper mattress, get your one mattress pad and you would get essentially the same thing much cheaper. Also, they will not negotiate on the prices or extras at all. If you want legs for the bed or a bed frame add $160. It takes 2 weeks for them to make a bed once ordered. It will cost you $160 to have the bed put together, or $80 if you just want it shipped in large boxes and you put it together yourself. I found the bed itself not comfortable. I'm a fat dude at over 250 lbs. and found that at the higher air pressure number the bed is too hard if lying on your back. When I take the pressure down lower and turn to the side, I hit the bottom and it's too soft. They will show you a live feed of how the bed takes pressure off your back as the pressure is lowered but basically you just sink into the bed and then it's hard to turn over. I guess for some people this bed will work, but I see it as just a newer version of the waterbed and where has that technology gone? You can spend a week playing with the different settings until you think you got it right, but more likely you will probably just be tired and confused and end up settle on some number. Incidentally, that number thing is a big deal at the store. All the staff are always saying my number is such and such what's yours? Also I gotta mention that old fart salesperson who "helped me." He spent more time talking about himself, how many beds he's sold, and other stuff I was interested in hearing. Wasting my time and not letting me really try out the beds for any long period of time. So I had ended up going back to this store a second time just to feel the beds out, and that's when I became sure they are not any good, at least in my case. read more

My day just exploded up in my face! After three months of research, with a second party, and trying to help my wife's back pain while sleeping at night, we purchased a $6,000 fully adjustable bed. We called to find out when the best time was for delivery. We wanted to help out there delivery route schedule time, so I worked with them and took a Thursday off hoping everything would go smoothly. I tore up our master bedroom and put furniture throughout the house to make installation easy. So, now we are ready. My wife called the day before to make sure we were still on schedule, and all was good. The morning of our delivery, we received a call saying they were not able to drop off the bed. After all that work what the hell! We got on the phone with corporate and after 4-5 hours of speaking with numerous people, l found out that there was no one that had a can do attitude. For this extreme inconvenience, all we got was a, "We're sorry." They had no back up plan to accommodate are delivery They didn't even offer any compensation for our troubles, which I was waiting on to see if they had any integrity ----no help there---, which has me very concerned about warranties down the road. This is my first impression of this company through corporate. Why are we paying 6 times more for a bed if you can' get the support you need? read more

Do not ever buy any of there products what a huge waste of time. I spent 4,000 on a mattress and me and my wife were ever happy my wife called several times to try and get things fixed and all they wanted to do is charge us for more of there crap products. Before we bought the mattress my wife had asked the sales lady several questions about some of the the reviews she had read and the sales lady told her that all of those problems had been fixed not to worry. When my wife called back about those problems she was told that oh yea that's the only mattress we still have issues with. The mattress always felt like there was a hole in the middle and even after buying more foam and toppers that they said would fix the problem it still sucked. We only had this for 2 years and the entire time me and my wife had major neck and back problems after replacing the mattress with a standing run of the mill Costco one we are doing fine all neck and back issues fixed. The sleep number customer service people are a joke don't ever buy from this circus of a company. read more

Three star, leaning towards a two, a couple of concerns, primarily what they DON'T tell you that caused this concern. Richmond was a knowledgeable associate, noted items can be exchanged OR RETURNED if not happy. We bought two pillows and our bed. My hubby and I tried the pillows the first night upon delivery, not for us. We return them to this store a few days later for a return, yet were told we can only exchange....AND when they mean exchange, it is an item for an item (could return a/one pillow for another item, not two pillows.) After thinking this was silly, and noting to the older sales associate present that perhaps customer service at this point would be more important than "a" pillow exchange, they allowed both pillows to be exchanged (again, didn't need an exchange but didn't have a choice, ok, so we exchanged for sheets.) The staff struggled with the exchange due to new computer system, no biggy. Richmond noted day of sale that delivery for our bed between 5-9 p.m. tonight. Two days ago though, I get a reminder call saying between 1 and 5 p.m. I know it wasn't set in stone, but for customer service purposes in general, why not make an appt. exactly for the time frame noted? We are paying a good chunk of money, and it is taking three weeks for delivery, I expect more precise time as noted when we bought the bed. My hubby had to take off work today now (short notice) because of the new early afternoon slot. When I called the scheduling dept the following day to complain, she noted would take 4 to 6 days to reschedule a delivery with no guarantee (again, it took 3 weeks already to get the bed, uggh, never mind.) Also, not mentioned...again....is the delivery man only provided one sleep number remote, noted to have a separate one would be an additional $200, and that he didn't have one with him. This is what we were never told or even offered, but it looks so easy and expected when you try out the bed in the store and each side/each person has their own remote to try. I'm aware (clearly) there is a sales commission. To Richmond and the others, sales are important and pay the bills, but you need to reinforce to potential buyers the negatives of your policies, too (exchange not returns, offer a second remote with cost at time of purchase, cost extra for a second remote, would have paid probably, but wasn't offered or available when they delivered, discuss when buying bed, time frames for delivery, with customer service in general for any company, why even set up a time when we are forced to go another completely different time frame, causing time off work, to deliver it, wasn't waiting three weeks for delivery enough anguish?) The third star is the bed is nice. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! This company claims to give you 100 nights to evaluate and return their beds but that only applies to mattresses. I spent $8800 on a bed which was noisy, cold and uncomfortable. On day 50 I decided to return it and called customer service. They informed me that I would get only $3000 back because foundation , moving mechanism of bed, is NON REFUNDABLE!! So to return the bed it would cost me close to $5000!!! The original salesperson never mentioned this but the customer service man on the phone made it clear it was in the contract and it was binding!!! So our only option was to keep the bed!! This is not an honorable way to do business. The original salesperson should have mentioned this because to spend $5000 and end up with nothing is something buyers have a right to know about upfront!! So we unfortunately will have to try to make this work! read more

First off the sales rep was good!!! but you would have to be for $9000 bed! we are extremely unhappy with it, we got the one thats divided on the top and now the separation is so wide that we have to put a pillow in that divided part to fill in the hole!!! It's the worst!! We would like to exchange it but of course we cannot get anyone to call us back on this matter or no one will email us back ... We have spoke to the live chat... My wife saw a tv commercial for their annual sale, their biggest sale of the year. They were offering 50 percent off and no interest financing for 24 months. We went on the last day of the sale and were met with a very high pressure salesman. Only 1 mattress was 50 percent off but not really they were charging full price for part of it, I think the base. It was going to be at least $7,000 out the door for one of the worst beds they sold. They did have a feature that made the bed soft or firm which was cool but the price was outrageous. The salesman leaned toward my wife and said "do it" when we were speechless and shocked. He wanted that sale so bad. I can't recall his name, he is an asian fellow around 40 years old or so. We left the store and went to our local furniture store where we purchased our living room set. They had adjustable mattresses there which were very comfortable. We purchased one there for under $3,000 including tax, delivery, and a 5 year warrant. Sleep Number is lucky to get a ONE STAR review it was terrible. read more

Laura helped us out and we absolutely love our new bed. Laura was extremely patient and thorough explaining the various types of beds. Our sleep number experience has been very disappointing. We were very excited and couldn't wait for the first nights sleep. We had no idea what we were about to experience in the upcoming weeks. The first few nights were very uncomfortable. My husband complained of a bubble feeling in his waist area & on my side of the bed, the air chamber will fluctuate even though on the remote it says my number. This has nothing to do with the responsive air as I had that turned off. We called customer service within the 1st week. The rep first tried to charge us to have someone come out to take a look but then he offered to waive the fee & told us the soonest they can have someone out would be in 3 weeks. To have a new customer wait for 3 weeks was unacceptable so I called the sales rep to see if he could help us. The sales rep indicated that the reasoning for the wait was due to the parts being out of stock. Mind you, no one ever came to the house to inspect the bed so we weren't sure how they would know what parts to order. Long story short, 3 weeks later the service techs showed up without any parts, looked at the mattress & made a call in front of us indicating the chambers needed to be replaced. After the call was finished, they explained that someone will be calling us within 2 hours to go over the steps to ordering the parts, if we wanted a new complete mattress to explain that when they call. I asked the techs what number do we call just in case we don't receive a call, we were told the 800 # in the blue folder. Well they never called which was no surprise to us and when we called the 800#, they were closed. We did receive an order confirmation for a replacement air chamber for one side only. We called our sales rep again, all he could tell us is to call Monday as customer service is closed and there is nothing he can do. This whole experience has been miserable!! My husband has been sleeping on the living room floor at times and there is no concern coming from sleep number on getting our problem resolved! I wish we never made this purchase. They treat their customers great when trying to make that sale. But when your bed malfunctions they want to give you the run around. It's almost been 1 month and nothing has been resolved. read more

Bought the new I7 360 bed, which took over 30 days to be delivered. The bed was very hot and gave little to no back support. The remote to the adjustable bed base link to my iPhone, but worked roughly 50% of the time. After two weeks of major shoulder and lower back pain related to this bed we decided to return the bed. We paid $6500 to sleep well with a 25 year guarantee on parts, but end up being scammed out of $2400 for a bed frame that responds occasionally and $500 in return fees. They would not reduce the cost of the frame which after research is normal $1500 and would not take the frame as a return. I would never recommend this company as the sale people are dishonest and their products are of poor quality, over priced by at least four times the value. I plan on taking them to court to recover my lost. They stated you sign the contract, so live with it. Yes I sign the contract, but not to be stuck with a $2900 adjustable bed frame. The bed my feel good in the store, but are not worth your money or time. read more

Today, I had the worst customer service experience at this store. I went for the Labor Day sale. When I got there, the store was busy. I started to look around. Sales associates were everywhere but none would give me eye contact or asked if they could help me. This is not a self service type place. After TWENTY minutes of waiting for a sales person, I stopped an associate and asked what I needed to do to get a sales person. I asked if there were a sign in process that I had missed because two people that had walked in after me had been serviced. The sales associate became very, very nasty and said in a horrific tone, "We are BUSY!!! You can go sit on a bed and wait!". I left. Went to another store and dropped some serious money on a great bed. I would not give these people a dime. If you are so unorganized and nasty before I purchase something, how will you act if I have an issue? Take your time and money elsewhere. read more

all I have to say is go to Costco and you can get a better warranty and you can take it back to the store for exchange for 1 year un like there warranty that is all bs where they send a so called bias company out to inspect your bed and we had ours done and my son had his bed inspected and you get the same answer no matter that there are lumps in my new mattress that I paid top dollar fore note to all that read this buyer beware read the fine print before you buy from any sit and sleep location there customer service by phone also sucks read more

I purchased two full sized air mattresses that are surrounded by 4" thick foam. The foam is around the sides not the top and bottom. These were around 2 grand each. They sit on an adjustable king size frame that is nothing special to look at. Another $2500 or so. This is all covered by a thin sheet of foam. Under the bed sits a box that inflates and deflates the bed and tilts both ends at the push of the button on a remote. This is called an i8. I guess this means I ate through 8 thousand dollars. The 100 day return warrantee does not cover the base. They tell you this in the store. The rest is covered as long as you pay to return it to the warehouse in another state. Every year the valve of the warrantee diminishes a little.The comfort is OK and it seems to work all right. I had a waterbed for years and it was more comfortable. We got this bed because my better-half is uncomfortable sleeping flat due to a surgery. She seems very happy with it. I still sleep flat but I tilt it to watch TV or read. My 3 stars are a neutral opinion. Make your own choice. I will add that another customer in the store said she had to replace her air mattress after a few years and she was contemplating buying a spare before the price goes up. When they set up the bed they tell you that you need to set it to 100 every morning. As far as the Cerritos store, the sales associates were all very friendly and courteous. read more
