    Pepperoni pizza
    Paula F.

It was less than average super oily pizza and the service was good. We were not expecting the best at this pizza place and got exactly what we expected. Being hungry and with not a lot of good choices we chose this. I first ordered a slice of Hawaiian but it was so flat and with little meat that I changed it to pepperoni last minute. The pizza sauce wasn't too sweet and the pepperoni was so small. It was well cooked. I used about 5 napkins to absorb the oil. My meal was nothing spectacular and I won't be back because it cost more than what it was worth and it wasn't great.

    Good pizza here!

Pizza slices are a tad pricey but one slice can easily fill you up! It's a better deal to get a whole pie. Regular crust and the thick crust are both very good here. Good sauce, good cheese and good toppings. We were all pleasantly surprised on how good the hot wings were! Perfect amount of a crunch on the outside and the chicken was very tender. The service was fantastic at this location. I asked them to cut a large pie into smaller slices and they did it no problem. One guy walked by later and asked how we all were doing. There was 7 of us. Fountain drinks and a few bottled drinks available. Seating gets crowded so be patient. Ambiance is a chill vibe and it's bright and clean throughout. I do recommend trying his place out! PIZZA!!!

Overall: Not going to lie, my expectations were relatively low for a pizza joint on the City Walk. I expected expensive, mediocre food, but I was surprised how good the pizza was. Yes, it was expensive, but I think it was very delicious and would come here again for the pizza if I was at Universals! I stopped by here on a whim when I was at City Walk for an escape room. I would give it 4 stars due to the price and service. The Service: Service was minimal. You order at a counter, letting them know what pizza you would like. They heat up the pizza and call your name when it's ready. The restaurant is relatively busy, so tables full and were not cleaned up when people were finished so it was a bit messy. Service is the main piece where I am docking points for. The Food: I ordered the pepperoni pizza and the hot mario. Both pizzas were nice and crispy. It was crispy, but not burnt. The crust had a good amount of chew to it still and was thin. Good amount of toppings. If you are looking for a bit of spicy, I definitely recommend the hot mario. I loved the dollops of cheese on the top. I would recommend that they serve hot honey on the side if possible, but that's just a personal preference. One slice per person is pretty filling since the slices are on the larger side, but if you're hungry, you might want to order 2. Price: Very expensive for pizza - ranging between $10-12 a slice which is super pricey! It makes sense because it's on city walk and will be a more affordable option compared to some of the other restaurants. The Atmosphere: Very busy restaurant with seating inside, but we went after the park closed so it was super crowded and had to share a table with another group. Parking: Located in city walk so you have to pay for parking - I don't think they validate.

Yay!! What a great addition to CityWalk. First tried this chain up in Santa Clarita thanks to a Yelp Elite event! We frequently come to Universal as pass members so this is a great spot for a bite to eat. Like the name says, you can order by the slice or get a whole box but we like to get a few different slices to try them all. The slices are HUGE and they really fill you up. I went for the "spider" one which had black garlic drizzle. Very strong flavor but very delicious!! It really grew on me. The restaurant itself is pretty small. They have some tables but also bar seating. The pickup counter is inconvenient so you're kind of just stuck standing there waiting. We probably could've waited outside but didn't want to miss our name since we wanted to go home after a long day at the park. Otherwise great spot and worth coming to! IG: @ammysalamii

Addie or Abby. Calling for you, a beautiful, lovely worker with dark hair... wearing a hat.... The day we visited on Nov 1st, you made our experience exclusive. How did you do it and why should others utilize your hospitality as an example?? Well, what you didn't know was we had to wait to celebrate our anniversary for 7 months past the date. We have been on a strict nutrition plan and waited this ONE day to indulge. When we sat down at Bubba Gump Shrimp, we were hardly noticed. Enough time to up and leave. So we did. We came to this spot, met you, and you sold us on your fabulous description on why a slice of pizza was worth our visit. You weren't kidding- it WAS great!! I tossed my water in the trash and you were standing there cleaning the area when my water hit the garbage and splashed up in your face :( You were SO sweet, you wiped your face and kept hustling on your job and said nothing. I said "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!!" You sweetly replied, "It's okay!" We both sort of chuckled but had someone done that to me in a busy work spot such as yours, I would take been taken aback. You didn't personalize this, and as mentioned you were kind to begin! Thank you for being so great and we loved the pizza!! You're a gem and I hope they notice you through your hard work :) I smell a promotion.... And, because of you, we will be back next time. We hope to see you there!

Service was great, place felt very clean. The thing is, the pizza is good at best. Nothing stand out for me and with the 15$ price tag for one slice.. it is not justified. This place is a skip for me

Great pizza! Slices are about $10, however. Thankfully, the New York style slices are pretty massive -- I got one pepperoni slice and was set for dinner. I would say it's truly NY style; thin, crispy bottom and chewy crust, spicy curled pepperoni. Quick service even though the line was long. Lots of seating inside but was totally full after the park closed, so I ate upstairs across from the AMC. Great food option! Glad this made its way to City Walk!

So there's this new pizza place at CityWalk, and honestly I think it's a great idea. The location's perfect, right in the middle of all the action. They've got a bunch of pizza styles like Grandma, Detroit, New York, and Sicilian. We went around 2pm on a Thursday and it was already pretty packed. Most of the seats were taken, which is always a good sign the food's good. My wife and I decided to pop in and give it a shot, the pizza in display looked tasty. Right away we noticed they've got a nice setup inside with two TVs, perfect if you wanna sit and hang out for a bit after walking around Universal Studios or CityWalk. Ordering was easy. They had two cashiers, one inside and one as you first walked up. That kept the line going so the line moved quick. We tried a slice of the "Motörhead" pizza. They've got a ton of styles and toppings to pick from which is awesome, but yeah, prices are kinda on the high side. A pepperoni slice was $9.99, and the Motörhead slice came out to about $13 after tax. Bit pricey for just one slice, not gonna lie. But, that Motörhead slice was good. Super flavorful, crispy, and just different in a really good way. The pizza made up for the price. My wife and I shared a slice since $13 felt like a lot for one, but we both said we'd definitely come back to try some of the other styles. They serve Pepsi products and a few adult drinks, which is nice. The menu's not just pizza either, they've got pasta, ice cream, and a bunch of sides (didn't try any this time though). Overall, solid spot for pizza lovers. Prices are a little up there, but the pizza's tasty, the vibe is good, and it's in an awesome spot at CityWalk. We'll for sure be back again soon. Check out the photos; Menu, pizza styles , ingredients, and prices.

Stopped by after Universal Studios closed. Efficient, indifferent staff. Ordered pepperoni and Detroit slices. Casual dining area that needed attention/cleaning. Pepperoni was fresh and the crust so good. Detroit slice had sat in the display too long and was past its expiration. It was chewy/hard and just ok. I would definitely return but make sure the pizza was recently made and fresh.

    Jim G.

For whatever reason i was not thinking the pizza would amaze me, but it was a damn good slice! At only around $11 for a big slice it was well worth it. They also have beer and wine. Worth a stop if at Universal Citywalk.

    Ronald W.

Amazing pizza by the slice. Great addition to Citywalk. Ordered up a slice of Big Mario. Perfect crunch on crust and great tasting toppings. Slice is a good meal size for average person. Forgot to ask for my season pass holder discount which would have made it even better.

    Shobha S.

This is on city walk. By the slice starts around $9. The service is fast. Friendly personnel who check on you frequently to see if you'v been helped or not. Nice and clean with sitting indoors. The pizza its self is just amazing. The box is worth the price tbh. A must when at universal city walk.

While deciding what to eat while at City Walk we saw this new pizza place and decided to give it a try. We were intrigued by the deep dish pizzas and we were not disappointed! I ordered The Motörhead and it was so delicious, def wish the sauce was more abundant but the few bites that did have it were perfect! Although a small place there are plenty of seats to eat there and they have tvs to watch current games while eating a slice!

I did not see a designated parking lot (just street) but there was plenty of street parking available with no meters on Sunday. The dining experience is cool as it has that old world charm to it with the checkered table cloths in classic Italian style. As for the food, it was just mediocre. We started off with the antipasto salad and that is a total waste of money for what you get (16.95). It was on the smaller side and was not a traditional antipasto salad. It had the salami and cheese on the bottom of the plate (in whole slices) along with some regular lettuce on top with two green onions and some green olives on the side and some red onions (at 1st I thought that our server brought us the wrong salad). As for our entrees, I ordered the spinach lasagna and it was ok. The portion size was small but since lasagna is generally heavy I was able to finish it. BFF ordered the baked mostaccioli with Italian sausage added to it and his was a bigger portion. We had two soft drinks and some water with our meal and the total came to 110.00 incl tip. Ouch! Our server was friendly but not overly and the service was good. I really wanted to like this establishment but the food did not impress me at all. Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in LA and I rarely make it to this area; therefore, I highly doubt I will be back.

Our wonderful server, Jessica, made the night even brighter. We started with some Peach Puree Bellini Prosecco that was crisp, refreshing, and beyond amazing. The food arrived with impressive speed, but the quality was truly second to none. My wife absolutely loved the special of the night--a Tiger Shrimp and Asparagus Linguini--and my Angus Beef Bolognese with savory short rib ragu was easily the best I've ever had. The trattoria had low lighting and looked like a romantic little Italian villa with Sinatra music lilting in the background. It felt much more a date night place than a business dinner. First, the wine list by the glass had excellent, very interesting and offbeat selections. The bottle selection was really superb. Then, as a starter, we shared a white bean and lobster appetizer. It tasted absolutely amazing ... and a dish that neither of us had tried before. Our very seasoned and polite waiter told us we would enjoy it. Next, he had the lobster ravioli, and I had the salmon. Both were really cooked to perfection and wowed us. Lastly, for dessert, we split this most amazing pistachio gelato that came cut into slices with finely chopped pistachios sprinkled on top and a most delish type of pistachio paste?? inside. Angelo, the owner, stopped by and chatted with us during the meal, and we felt as though we had almost dined in someone's private home with a most amazing meal.

My fiancé had been wanting to go here for a while and we live down the street so we figured we'd try. Angelo came out and was extremely sweet and accommodating as well as our server; honestly every one of the staff were extremely sweet and helped me pick out what to order. The super Tuscany wine was amazing, the appetizers, (Roman Pruscetta and the Caesar salad) were incredible. The Pastas were also out of this world. This will be my new spot for taking anyone for a nice dinner.

Well now... Where…read morecan a chef who has worked in the industry for 20+ years go and not complain about ANYTHING... Not many places. We tend to pick out every little detail, everything out of place, every miscalculation and any mistake. I couldn't find one tonight. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles and warm energy. An energetic room (at 5:45pm) and a stage set. I've heard great things, I've anticipated this for months. Going into anything with high hopes is always a risk. But I felt at ease within moments. First cocktail at the bar... quick service, tasty drink, what else do you need? Sat... Somm, server and commis de rang all touched the table within a couple of minutes. I tend to spend too much time looking at menus and this wine list set me up for an adventure. Page after page of stellar picks at prices you won't find at restaurants of this caliber. Value after value! We settled on a fun Italian white, Chardonnay with Nebbiolo... yes a white with Nebbiolo. Oh how it worked with the food.. Oysters and Sashimi... Crudo... Apple Salad... Each delivering multidimensional flavors and textures. Peru meets Japan meets Cali farm to table. The pace and timing of each course perfectly delivered. As we moved into our... Croquettes... I was genuinely speechless. How did these taste like the enchiladas I grew up with? Chicken confit, burnt tomatoes, grana padano salsa pepian... It worked with the wine in my glass. I could have spent the entire evening dabbling with the raw menu and starters but it was time for something more... Risotto... is never to be missed. You should always judge a restaurant serving Italian food based on a few things.... A pepperoni pizza. Their "fresh bread" The level of cook on their pasta And.... How they cook their risotto. This made the table go silent. You really just need to try it.. Dinner wrapped up with an Olive Oil Cake and a glass of Takaji and this may have been the perfect pairing to end the night... fresh, uplifting and harmonious in every way. This was long and poetic but the bottom line is that this place is worth visiting regularly. There were a dozen things on the menu that we missed that looked good. I'll be back soon and I just wish I lived closer!!

First time dining at Verse, and it definitely won't be my last!…read more From the moment we walked in, we loved the vibe, atmosphere, and overall ambiance. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly and immediately offered our choice of water, which was a nice touch and set the tone for a great evening. Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He introduced himself, shared a little about the restaurant, and made us feel welcome right away. After taking our drink order, he was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu with excellent recommendations. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was absolutely outstanding. My fiancée couldn't try it due to some spice allergies, but I can honestly say it was one of the best octopus dishes I've had. For our entrées, she ordered the duck and I had the New York steak--both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Verse delivered a truly memorable dining experience, and we can't wait to come back. One more shoutout to Daniel for providing such outstanding service and making our first visit even more enjoyable!

The ambience was very jovial yet elegant, I felt like it should become my Argentinian getaway! We chose the special options offered and they were well thought out. I opted for the branzino lunch including a starter of an empanada, a side of rice and broccoli My friend opted for the steak with a caper sauce and with same sides. They were gracious enough to let me take my friend's empanada to go. The food was excellent as were their wine selections, my white wine was crisp, it paired nicely with the meal. My friend's Malbec was perfect with the beef. As we lingered, our server offered to "top off" our wines, I was blown away by this gesture, it alone should garner great acclaim! The dessert was excellent! I thank them for this gem!

Outside on the street there were not a lot of options since it was a beautiful valley night. I can say this was my first time trying Argentinian food and it won't be my last. They did not have cocktails which was a disappointment for me but they had a very affordable wine selection filled with, you guessed it, Malbec. They also serve beer if that is your thing. Getting to the meat of the review, I had the ribeye that was cooked to perfection. It came with three dipping sauces and I tasted one of the three and opted to forgo any sauce. It just wasn't my flavor. For the side we got the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts with bacon. Both good neither great. Jumping to the desserts. We got the crème brûlée a trio of sorbet and a chocolate mousse. I don't eat chocolate but it was devoured by the rest of the table. The sorbets were refreshing and the brûlée was tasty. Now to what I loved. The tapas aka appetizers. Beets and burrata salad 10/10 Empanadas three ways Spinach and cheese 9/10 Beef 9/10 Chicken 9/10 Garlic shrimp 10/10 Each appetizer I thought was better than the next with the burrata probably being my favorite. A nice Toluca lake gem at a good price with many options.
